George's Drive-In

Classic California food: burgers, sandwiches, burritos, and breakfast. You name it and George's…read moreprobably has it. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. Situated in a seedy corner lot on Magnolia and Harrison, don't let the semi-dilapidated surroundings fool you; this place is no joke. Try not to let your guard down while you are eating truly the best burger you can get in Riverside. The price is fair, but can add up quick as refills are not self serve or free and additional sauces (beyond ketchup and similar condiments) are not complimentary. Ranch is just shy of a dollar at .90¢. As much as I loathe paying extra for sauces, the amount of fries they give you seems to justify the upcharge, but, in my opinion, they should charge for EXTRA sauces and maybe include one with a combo. Seems nitpicky but those who need ranch with their fries can sympathize. Their breakfast special is fine, and you very much get what you pay for price and food wise. Again, start adding sides and the price becomes reminiscent of non-fast food sit down diner prices and, to me, that is not justifiable here. As far as other things on the menu, I cannot vouch for the wildly popular breakfast burritos but they were being ordered nonstop while I was visiting. I have tried the pastrami but it was very salty; but that's the nature of the game. With a menu like this, you are bound to hit a roadblock at some point. Just come back and try again. All that being said, this place really is quality and gives a quantity that you don't really see very often. My personal suggestion would be to get a chocolate milkshake with the burger combo, that's what really makes this place a 5/5. You won't regret it. Those in the know, know about George's. Try to be in the know.

I live about 30mins away and asked if the the nacho cheese could be served on the side, and she agreed but from there I noticed a tone of annoyance. I arrived and paid for my order by 7:24pm. I did not end up leaving until 7:47pm. I watched them place a box on the top shelf of the stove containing an order, but I figured it was someone else's pick up order. I then proceeded to watch 5 customers after me walk up to the window, place their order, and then leave with their food in a timely manner. I took my receipt to the pick up window and the cashier immediately knew who I was, grabbed the box I saw them place on the shelf, and then told me they're just waiting on the cheese that I asked to be set on the side. Not sure if asking for the cheese to be on the side merited me waiting over 20mins. Mind you I would have been perfectly okay if she said it couldn't be done. I just wouldn't have ordered them. Not sure if there was an issue, but not once was that communicated to me. Nevertheless, this left me with an experience that makes me not want to come back.

I can't get enough of Monty's!…read more We need one of these closer to Corona/ Murrieta etc. Spread them throughout the Inland Empire please! We need more Monty's locations! It's either Riverside or Los Angeles. The Los Angeles location is nice because it has standard restaurant seating and the vibe is full on Monty's! It's so cool! I hope they grow and open more locations. My husband and I just drove an hour to get to the Riverside location. We're only able to come once a month because it's so far away. We would hit it once a month if it were closer, maybe more than once a month. Service is always great at this location. They have stickers and buttons available. The seating is bar stools at a counter inside the food lab. The food is amazing! It's always perfectly made and it hits the spot when we miss the Monty's plant-based chicken. The burgers are good. Love the fries and tots! Definitely do the "maxed out" tots or fries. Those are the best! I love the kale salad and add chicken on top. My husband loves the chicken burgers. We always bring friends here to try Monty's plant-based grub! This place rocks.

Fries and tots were decent. Would love to come back to try the dog and chicken sandwich. Service was quick. They had a good amount of counter seating but it was pretty busy. I absolutely love their mascot though and they have free stickers that look like him. All food is vegetarian friendly! 100% plant-based.

They use King Trivia for their trivia night, which includes the use of cellphones to create teams, share questions and submit answers. Be sure to have your phone charged before the event. The good thing is that only one person on your team has to run the app. There are prizes for the top teams. The trivia crowd is lively, competitive and always respectful. In addition to the trivia, I've had a chance to try some of their food offerings as well as their drinks. The Brussels sprouts and pretzel bites are a solid choice, especially when sharing with vegetarians. The wings were also really good, even without the sauce. I'm not a big beer fan but I've tried a few of their ciders and seltzers and I've really liked them. They even had one that tasted like Baja Blast!
