Very good if you like sports, but has the worst recording setup I have ever seen. If you choose to record original series only on a certain TV station, it records on other TV stations and loads the library. You have to go in and delete the other recording on different tv stations. It also at times repeats when you choose original only. read more

Stay away from DirecTV. Their customer service will disappoint you. You may spend a log time on hold. Then get cut off during a call transfer. read more

The service is horrible and the customer service is even worst. I have had approximately 20-25 days of viewing time in a 30 day period. I pay for TV all the time, not some time. They lock you into a contract, charge you to have repairs of $8.99/month because they know it is going to go down. I am seriously considering getting out of the contract, and paying for high speed internet and purchase fire sticks and roku players. At least the wifi works all the time. Worst service ever and ATT does nothing to make the customer happy anymore, just take their money. read more

Called tonight because service is out again, it rained 12 hours ago. Technical services said there was nothing to do but schedule a service call, since they can't make it work when it's cloudy. Amazingly they tried to upsell me into buying device protection for my cell phones and tablets. They can't make their basic service work and they're trying to get me to give them more money for additional services? Fuck you AT&T you assholes! Handle your business before you upsell, you douchebags. I wouldn't trust you with a wet fart let alone my cellphone. Cut the cord!!! read more

Per customer service......it was suggested that I go on the roof of my home, remove the snow and this should fix my television service failure. The next IDIOT suggested that I should get a water hose and clean the dish receiver (Present temperature 28 degrees) The final blow was the one that suggested that to get optimum service I should purchase a covering to protect my satellite dish...... My suggestion for you is to close your doors and possibly get a GED. read more

Hmm...I was told when I signed up with an introductory price that the price would go up in 12 months to the normal price but all I would have to do is call them and they would lower it again. I did that and was told no way. I indicated that was pretty shabby since it was most definitely used as a ploy to get me to sign on. They really could not have cared less. Also, my signal is apparently always crossed with a neighbor who has really horrible taste in television. We constantly have things like "Bad Girls Club" and awful movies like "Phat Girlz" show on as recorded on our DVR. Unless I am sleep setting my DVR, this is pretty annoying. I am also fairly confident that even my unconscious self has better taste than that. Oh, this neighbor also records "The Nanny". WTH?? Why record a show that is showing on at least one of the Nick channels pretty much 24/7? Dear Uverse, You are cordially invited to provide your service on my street asap. Sincerely, Future Customer read more

DirectTV got me to resignup on a 29.99 select plan, this was supposed to be for a year, 6 months later still no plan and when I called, I got they didn't document it and hung up on when I asked for a supervisor...WOW....DirectTV has turned into Charter for customer service... read more

I try to make a change to my account they couldn't find the correct credit card number and then ask me for their expiration date and I refused to give it to them and they cancelled my request. If they were a authorised employees then they should have access to my account. ???????? Are they legit? read more

If you like being taken to your highest level of frustrating intensity, this company is for you. I have been dealing with a service issue since I started with DirectTV about a year ago. The install was not done right, the box is too far away even though they said irt would not be a problem, my picture breaks up into pixels and freezes and I can't stream an entire movie without a stoppage. I've worked with several techs and promised new boxes if the problem persisted and still no resolve, just the same promises from the most recent tech. read more

This is by far the worst television service that I have ever experienced. The controls are unbearably slow and half the time the remote/box doesn't even read which buttons the user is trying to press. Also, the box NEVER turns on the first time. The user must restart the box manually just about every other time the box is used. DO NOT CHANGE SERVICES. read more

This weekend, I was called by a DirecTV telemarketer offering me 55 HD channels for 30 days free, then only $4.99/month if I choose to keep these channels. As I am telling the lady that I am happy with what I have and do not want this 'free' offer, she disconnects my call. The next thing I know, I receive an email thanking me for signing up for this 'free' offer and if I wish to opt out to call 800-288-2020. I do so and am on hold, then transferred multiple times over the next 20 minutes to learn that I needed to call DirecTV at 800-531-5000! Incredible! I then call DirecTV and after 15 minutes, I am FINALLY opted out of this 'free' add-on which I never wanted to begin with!!! What a scam! read more

So, I just signed up for this service a week ago and can see that I have no time to use it (no tech issues or anything, just no time), but because the grace period is so short (24 HOURS!?) and I'm not made of money, I cannot afford $460 to cancel, So I am stuck with this service for 2 years or until I have $460 laying around to blow on a service that I didn't want anyway. I have never heard of a service that didn't have a 30 day "try it before you buy it" period. It is insane to think that within a day someone can decide to commit to something for 2 years. I am absolutely dissatisfied with this company as a whole. No wonder AT&T bought them; they could not get customers on their own. read more

After 7 days, 18 hours on the phone with managers and what not, missing Sunday Worship twice because of waiting for these people, I will now have Charter. I had requested a wireless genie, and they were unable to provide this tool. read more

This company is horrible on so many levels! Don't buy into their scam that your bill will be cheaper. I was told it would be $150 per month. I've paid over $1000 in 2 months and my cable still don't work. I don't know who is worse, their installers or the many reps on the phone that I can barely understand. Don't get suckered in. This company is absolutely horrible when it comes to customer service! read more

DO NOT USE AT&T! THEIR REPRESENTATIVES LIE AND DONT NOTATE YOUR ACCOUNT AND YOU ARE TOLD OH WELL DEAL WITH IT. I signed up for Directv on a 2 year promotion and everything was good. Right before my promotion ended Spectrum came to my area and gave us a really good deal. I called ATT to cancel at the end of my promotion. The rep told me he had a really good promotion. It ended up being just a couple dollars more then Spectrum but I wouldn't have to switch devices so I agreed. My bill was never accurate and I called every month to have it adjusted and was told it would be corrected. It was never corrected. Finally I got tired of calling in and was dealing with it. Then the bill continue to go up. Finally my husband and I decided on September 6th 2019 to cancel our services with them. I called and talked to a rep. He explained supposedly they no long prorate and my bill just restarted on the day before the 5th. I said I wanted to speak to a supervisor because I wasn't paying for another month. He put me on hold for a bit. Came back to the line and said he was still holding for a supervisor. Eventually he came back to the line and told me he spoke to the supervisor and he agreed that they will cancel my services at midnight and I was to return my equipment by September 16th. My final bill will be what I owe for the previous month and a few dollars for the two days I had service. He asked if I still wanted to speak to a supervisor and I said no bc his supervisor took care of it (so I thought). I returned my equipment and waited for the final bill. I call on October and was told I had to wait til the last day of the billing cycle for everything to generate. I called about October 16, 2019 when I saw that they charged me for a full month on the tv portion but the Internet was correct and prorated. I was told they was still confirming they received the equipment and it wasn't the final bill to wait til the 4th of November. I got a letter in the mail on November 1st saying they have been trying to get a hold of me (which is false bc I have been contacting them) and the final bill was past due. I called them immediately and talked to 7 representatives (no joke). I told them I wasn't paying for a full month of services when I was told it would be prorated to just the two days I used service and I'm not an idiot and would return my stuff but still pay for a full month. The rep agreed and said she wouldn't either and they would get it corrected. The last few days I was receiving phone calls multiple times a day. I finally had a chance to answer and low and behold it was their collection company calling. I explained and told them I have tried to get it corrected multiple times the last few months and just getting the run around. He put his supervisor on who offered to call ATT to dispute that portion. We did three way call and the lady who answered asked me to explain the situation I repeated all this and she said that she would need to speak to her supervisor. Her supervisor said bc the account is cancelled that they can't credit it. The amount was added after I already cancelled the bill so how does that make sense. She also said the rep didn't notate my account about prorating and they I will have to deal with it and no credit. I told the lady to go back to our recorded phone call and she will hear her rep saying that. She said nothing she can do. We let her go and the collection company tried to persuade me to just pay it bc my time is more important than $80. I agree it is but I also stand by the principle that I did what I agreed and ATT needs to do the same. I would never pay for services I am not utilizing especially when their rep lied and said otherwise. I know this is long but I wanted to warn others to avoid the headache and there is many other companies and ways to get services w/o ATT. read more

I've had DirecTV for a number of years and always been satisfied until now. Five days ago our TV went out--couldn't find the satellite signal. I scheduled a repair call. The person said the cable from the dish to the ground needed replacement, and that would take a 40-foot ladder. I scheduled that appointment, then tried to change it because they needed access to our neighbor's yard and I couldn't guarantee that. I got a complete runaround with the (non-English-fluent) customer service people refusing to talk to me because I wasn't my husband! Finally got the appointment rescheduled. Somebody showed up, took some pictures, said the repair crew would call soon. Three hours later I called, they canceled the appointment without telling me. Had to reschedule--yet ANOTHER four-hour block of time. We'll see if they show up tomorrow or not! Horrible customer service--I'm researching alternatives. read more

I have been a DirecTV customer for 20 years. Recently, they raised my bill by 50%, from 100 to 150 per month. I called to explain that was unacceptable as I did not ask for or received any additional services. They told me it was because my "promotional price" expired. Again, I've been with them 20 years. They offered another 12 month promotion which still left me with a 20/month increase. I told them I would be exploring other options. After finding out I cannot get Charter where I live, I decided to suck it up and accept the 20 increase. I called them back and they told me the promotion they offered the week before was no longer available and I just have to accept the increase. They did say that if I leave them, they will be happy to welcome me back as a new customer with a promotional rate. Again, I've been with them 20 years! Do they value customer loyalty? I think not. DishTV, here I come. read more

Fed up with Customer Service!! I have been a loyal customer for 6 years with AT&T. Due to consistent increasing prices, I decided to go to Direct TV because they are owned by AT&T now and are reasonably priced. I had an appointment set up with them today. It had been scheduled about 2 weeks ago. They gave me a 4 hour time frame of between 12 and 4pm. I understand different appointments can take various times so I get the time window. What I don't understand is getting a confirmation call at 2:30 saying that I am still on the schedule and someone will be there by 4pm. I also don't understand why at 4:10 I had to be the one to contact Direct TV or AT&T (quite frankly I don't know who I was talking to because they first say AT&T and then change it to Direct TV once speaking to them). If they knew they would not have made it by 4pm, a courtesy call would have been nice. Anyone could understand that after waiting 4 hours at home, they don't want to give up anymore time not knowing when they will come so I called to cancel the technician service for today. The first woman I spoke to said she couldn't cancel it and would transfer me to someone else who could. After speaking with the second person for about 10 minutes, getting the exact same information the first person got, they too said they couldn't cancel it and would have to transfer me to someone who could. At this point, I was beyond frustrated so when the third person I spoke to came on I immediately asked if she could cancel a technician order and she said no. I then asked to be transferred to someone who could because I had already been transferred twice. She then said, "well hold on, let me get your account information". Long story short with this one, she ended up being able to cancel the technician order for today. Clearly, I was LIED to at the beginning of that conversation. Obviously, she knew she could cancel the order and just didn't want to do that until I threatened to cancel the service altogether. Why is it this service will only answer questions and be honest when you threaten to cancel them?! This is absolutely ridiculous. I have been a loyal customer for 6 years and this is the appreciation and thanks that I get. A no show for a technician and lying customer service reps. Worst customer service experience I have ever had!! Also, keep in mind while on the phone, my technician order had still not been cancelled by 4:30pm and a technician still never tried to call or get a hold of me. 30 minutes past the time window. This is unacceptable. read more

I just spent almost an hour on the phone with Directv appointment services. JUST TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT - After the first 22 minutes of explaining everything we are having issues with (a now common issue since AT&T purchased Directv), I was told I had to be transferred to a technical specialist to make the appointment. I was transferred to an AT&T agent and after explaining again that I was trying to just make an appointment, was disconnected. Called directv back after I did some deep breathing exercises and proceeded to spend another 25 minutes visiting with Randall who was trying to help but had to transfer me to a supervisor who, again, after listening to my issue told me that she couldn't make the appointment because my "case" had been sent to a customer service area and someone would call me back within the hour to "further assist me". So, I am waiting. Headed online to see if I can arrange it there. We have been directv customers for almost 10 years & have had the service at two separate households. UPDATE: received a call back & after another 20 minute (exactly) phone call & after trying to walk us through troubleshooting one of the TVs/receivers that isn't working we finally scheduled a tech to come out. I was told that our contract provides for directv to troubleshoot first and if unable to fix over the phone they will schedule someone to come out. I told her that we literally don't have time to troubleshoot all the issues we are having with Directv (we own our own business. I don't know how people with regular jobs and short lunch times get anything done!) and stated that it is sad for what was a quality company to fall apart - apparently because of their recent purchase by AT&T which is when we actually started having issues. Time to start shopping around for new service. read more
