I am writing to share my positive experience with Sound Room tech support. I bought a Marantz SR 5015 two years ago and the Sound Room team made the install and all was beautiful until about a week ago. For some unknown reason, the AirPlay function would drop ending my music entertainment. I called for tech support and the team of Mike S., Rob, Mike B., and Deann were all involved in trouble shooting my problem. As it turns out, the remanufactured iPad I used to play Apple Music was the problem. The team came to my home; reprogrammed my smart remote; and we updated all firmware on the receiver, iPad, and my iPhone. Problem solved. Everything works fine with the phone. Good-bye iPad. We had the Sound Room install an alarm at our business. They installed the entire system is a few hours. Then today we added a second motion detector. The tech named Jon was increadable prompt and very nice. He actually showed me how the system worked so that we could make simples changes without having to call the a service call. Just like how to silence the alarm and how to have a simple button on my phone to turn on and off the system. Great price and great service. read more

We built a new house and wanted some electronics wired in. I spent hours looking online for what I wanted and had my list of prices and models. We spoke with our builder and he said he does not install all of this but recommended The Sound Room. The entire family went to their store and had a blast making decisions for each room and area. They had almost every item on my list. The family needed to be connected with all of their phones etc. for homework and for my office. We started this process last fall with the help of the builder. 1. Their prices were the same as on the internet, but with better warranties!!! 2. They installed everything 3. As Covid-19 started...we upgraded to more "wireless" power and they completely handled this for us....made it simple. 4. Our new house has Tv's, security, internet, doorbells that show us who is at the door...and stuff I don't even know about...the kids choices... Happy with the installation of services provided by the vendor of Lombardo (the sound room). Extremely displeased at the way the incorrect placement of a control4 switch was handled. Was told numerous times by the design person at Lombardo, the rep with the sound room with my consultation, and JCS electric during my walk through that I could change where the switch would go near the end. I attempted, it was not completed properly, and now I'm getting my original contract shoved back at me saying so sad, too bad from the sound room because they don't want to honor what their former employee told me during the purchase phase. Will not be doing business with them in the future as a result. This review probably doesn't matter to them, but feel that others that use this as a tool to decide where to shop to be extra cautious. read more

My husband and I like to dream big about our future, and therefore often find ourselves in places like The Sound Room on the weekend. Recently we paid a visit to The Sound Room, and we were completely awed. The manager or owner - I'm not sure which he is - happily took us through his entire store on a tour, explaining all of the technology and letting us test it, even though we told him we wouldn't be able to afford anything they sell for at least the next few years. He didn't even care! He sat us in their theater, turned the lights out and let us experience a first class home theater system. He showed us the upcoming technology in theaters, theater furniture, speakers, integrated home systems and much more. They have stereo speakers for outside that look like rocks, that are huge planters, and they can wire your house to play your ipod throughout the home and that you can control anywhere. I am so excited by this store that I am telling everyone. I can't get over how he spent around an hour with us [possibly more], even though he wasn't making a sale. That's smart. When we do have the money, we'll go big and he will get the entire deal. Plus, we're surely sending them plenty of other customers. Check these guys out, they are no pressure, love what they do, are very knowledgeable, have a ton of options and seem to be very good people. read more

Aware of the cost, and yet not wanting to spend excessively or waste money on more than I needed. Alex was knowledgeable and helpful. Mostly, I was able to shop how i needed to shop (patiently). I had already been researching for almost a year, so he was able to honor my experience and let me know what was available for my personal preferences. I have used The Sound Room twice for design in two houses and the service has been excellent. My issue lies in the setup and moving department. If you can avoid it, go anywhere else for this or do it yourself, you will do a better job. To elaborate. I purchased all my equipment and had TSR set it up ~5-6 years ago. They then came back and took it all down 2 years ago when I moved. This weekend, we finished construction and I finally was able to put my new media room together. Here is where all the issues were uncovered: 1. They mis-threaded the pipe for my Sanus projector mount when they originally put it up. Should have realized it when they didn't take the pipe out for my move. Had to replace: $275 2. They folded my screen instead of rolling it and put NO protection between the layers. The buttons left indents on the screen. Time will tell if it is permanently damaged: ~$1500 3. They did not pack any of the hardware for the screen frame including one of the magnets that held it to the wall. Luckily, we were able to find acceptable replacements. ~$30 4. One of my side speakers looks like it was dropped at some point ~300 ~$2000 mistake. None of this stuff had been repackaged since the move nor was taken down after they installed it. My regret was that I didn't catch this stuff earlier as it's been a while since the original install and move. I'm extremely disappointed given how expensive they are. That was the review I left on google and the business felt the need to reply with lies. They did not offer any reinstall or aid for the damaged product. They did give me an estimate for an install to the tune of $1500 which is neither here nor there. Nothing had been touched since it was packaged during the takedown, including the mount and screen. I purchased equipment from the Sound Room for a home theater system including B&W speakers, Dolby 7.1, and a 110" screen with Sony projector. If you go here, ask for Mike Swisher. He is not only knowledgeable, he is easy to work with once you set up a budget for the project. They can provide as much of the project, or as little based on the way you want to handle the installation. We used them for the components and the installation of the components. Mike was wonderful, and when we had a couple of issues with power in the house, Mike was patent, came over three times to help me get my electricians lined out. The installation crew was fantastic, all great personalities, and very knowledgeable. Their workmanship was (is) perfect. The little details were addressed and my theater is perfect. BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE AFTER THE SALE!!! I purchased 2 Sony TV's and a Sonos System from the Sound Room in December 2016 and the installation was flawless. However 4 months later one of the TV's quit working and Sony wanted to replace the TV with a reconditioned model. It seems this model had some circuit board issue's and the reconditioned units were how Sony wanted to solve these issue's. Andy Hauck the VP of operations at The Sound Room asked me how they could make it right and I asked for a new TV they installed the new unit the very next morning and said they would take up the broken TV problem with their Sony rep. Its hard to find companies who stand behind what they sell and do the right thing. Thank You to The Sound Room for being that kind of company. I will recommend you to everyone. read more

My wife and I recently went through the new construction home process in the St. Charles area from June to November. The builder stated they subcontracted part of their work to The Sound Room and that we would have the ability to choose 6 low voltage outlets included in our purchase price as well as any other upgrades for entertainment, security, or home automation purposes at an additional cost. After the initial meeting, we picked our included outlets, and decided on moving a few electrical outlets 4 feet up so they would be covered when we hung TV's. We even spent more money to upgrade the house for a whole home Ethernet system and pre-wired the house for a security system. During the build The Sound Room's technicians came and installed the tech tubing behind the television and had everything in place and ready to go, all we had to do was move in and get our internet up and running and they would come out and set up the whole home Ethernet. My wife was out on medical leave, so once our ISP had setup our service she called TSR and they came out and finished the setup. Now for the most part, everything has worked very smoothly. We have had has been some minor blips in connectivity that i attribute to ISP problems and general slowdowns. Fast forward to this week. We decided on a security company to come in and setup using the pre-existing wiring TSR installed. Everything seemed to go well until the internet dropped. The installers apologized but did the best they could trying to figure out how TSR wired the Ethernet system in the first place. A real headscratcher, I know this because TSR didn't leave any sort of documentation about how the Ethernet switch worked, what to do if it stopped working, whom to contact about issues or even a basic diagram of what wires should go in which outlets. I decided to call TSR today and got in touch with their Tech Support. I was told that how the system was setup was wrong, to which I responded, "That's how it's always been setup, you guys installed it" then proceeded to explain to him how they didn't leave any of the documentation I had previously mentioned above. His response was "You set up the system wrong." Whatever, agree to disagree. Anyway I tell them I need them to come out and fix this and they tell me they will call back and let me know when they can fit me into their schedule. I finally get a call at the end of the day to let me know they can come out tomorrow, even though I'm at work tomorrow and was off today, so I'll have to take off another day. Also, just for them to come to my house in St. Charles, MO from Chesterfield, MO and the first 30 minutes of service included would cost approximately $130 and every half hour after that would cost me $40-$45. In the end I called back and left them a message cancelling the appointment and ended up getting WIFI functionality back but can't get the ethernet ports to work. This was not what I paid for when I had this house built and I'm wondering if I had gone to the builder first if things would have been fixed. I guess I'll never know. I do know this. The one time I was in the store they made it abundantly clear that consumers should shop local and support the little guy in the area. That may be true but the prices for the products they sell will make your head spin and the clear lack of any sort of customer service makes me glad I will never shop your store again. In the end, if you have a choice where you buy your tech, go to the place that has blue and yellow logo and not these jokes. read more

I called twice and spoke to the receptionist at the repair center who stated I would get a call back with a quote /instructions. Two calls..... 2 1/2 weeks and never heard a peep out of them. There are plenty of vintage repair experts out there (see Audiokarma.org) so I moved on I understand the repair facility (Computronics) was purchased by the Sound Room and everything I hear about the Sound Room's core business is fantastic....can't say the same for the repair arm of the business. read more

I purchased a Creston system from Gary at The Sound Room in 2015 and spent close to $100,000 dollars. The system was never designed or programmed properly as it was sold , numerous problems with the entire system (radio, thermostats, TV never could receive 4K pictures and numerous calls to come out and try to fix the system. After 1 1/2 years of problems, I finally found another authorized dealer Elite Home Systems and hired them to clean up the mess. They completely re- installed and re-programed the system. Now, it is stable and works perfect ... I would be weary of the Sound Room and shop other authorized dealers and save yourself the headaches. read more
