I'm literally perched on a slant, which could have easily led to a drop or two on a puffer jacket. I rushed to move my jacket and the nail tech made me feel like I couldn't move fast enough. She kept rushing me and she wasn't friendly to me at all! I wanted extensions and she thought I just wanted gel, it's okay, there was a mistake but she continued to argue with me until I asked for the supervisor. She wasn't nice to me at all. Then when it came time to do my gel extensions, again and every time I go to Jenny's, they place me in the doorway. It was freezing today. Rosie asked me what time I had to leave and she confirmed that she would be finished by 12:15pm...but yes it's the eve of New Year's eve, every 5 minutes she stopped to assist walk ins on my time. My next appointment called me while the tech continued to do my nails and again stopped to greet walk ins who were hovering over my head. Rosie also had to call to get verification, so again, she had to stop. I was late for my next appointment but thank goodness she was just across the street. I paid $117 to get my nails and pedi done and instead of feeling a relaxing spa experience, I felt like I was getting my nails done in the middle of Commercial drive with pedestrians walking in between me and the nail tech. Too, any new customers that came behind me and were placed in the other cubicles behind me and therefore closer to the exit could Still get their nails done with No interruptions...so walk ins would go past them and stop over my shoulder....this must of been 5 times. This seems to happen every time I go to Jenny's that they place me in the doorway...I'm beginning to feel like I'm getting the Minority treatment so next time I will have to say no....that's not fair* I wanted to TIP the tech that did my pedi, she was so nice and attentive, but I felt so frustrated with the lack of customer service today!

Also I need about that long to pick a colour which I did while I waited. I went in for a new set of acrylic nails. I haven't had my nails done in about a year and it was time. Nancy is amazing. She did my nails and spent so much time on shaping them and making them perfect. They are the most beautiful almond shape. Easily the best shaped nails I've had, and under 100 dollars for a new set with tip and special chrome powder on each. Unfortunately my phone can't capture the colour (a sort of greige with chrome purple on top) but my nails are stunning and I couldn't be happier I will be back !

I'm super picky about what I like and terrible at choosing colours. I showed them a few reference photos and they captured the look I wanted perfectly--even adding some subtle details to make them pop without looking too bling-y. Highly recommend Jack and Tina! They are my new go-tos. Bonus points for the dreamy massage chairs and awesome Commercial Drive location--so many great places to shop and eat, you could easily make a day of it.

Though I added paraffin ($15) to my hands, they did push both the manicure-pedicure in shellac because they stated the regular polish would not dry in time ($25). I also did not know there was a 5% tax on services in Canada. However, they do give you 5% discount for writing a review - though instead of $129.68, they charged me $131.78 because they only took off the 5% on the $90 shellac manicure-pedicure. Even after I tipped both of the technicians $20 each in US currency, I was disappointed that they were dishonest when I pointed out to them about the discount not having been applied to the total amount and they said it was the tax. I had Trish and Miley; both were excellent with the trim, shape, and polish. The hand and foot/leg massages were just okay. I have the manicure at the same time as the pedicure, but it was quite uncomfortable to have to sit on an angle for both my hands to be done to one side of the chair. Because the receptionist was chatting away with both of them, they were not paying attention and not looking at their sanding and buffing of my nails at the beginning, which was also uncomfortable to my hand and feet cuticles. Last, the foot exfoliation was also not thorough because it was done during the time that the conversation was happening. All in all, I would still recommend!

I walked in at 10:20am and was out of there by 11:30am. He even added abit of length to my thumb as my nail had just broken off prior to getting there. I'm super happy with the quality and the precision of the French tip. It was definitely on the pricier side with French being an extra $15 and chrome an additional $15 on top of a regular gel mani. Total before tip was around $70. I didn't mind spending extra to ensure my nails looked great for my wedding weekend!

I unfortunately had an appointment the day after an unexpected snowstorm dumped 15-25 centimeters of snow on the city, and because I don't live on a major thoroughfare, I couldn't leave my neighbourhood. I texted the salon the afternoon before my appointment to apologize for not giving 48 hours' notice, and to ask if they would be willing to cancel my appointment because I was trapped in my neighbourhood and couldn't get out. The person who responded - I assume, the owner? - refused to waive the mandatory no-show charge. Small business owners are hurting, I get that. But so are the rest of us, and having to throw away money on an appointment I couldn't honor through no fault of my own is ridiculous and heartless behaviour. I was prepared to buy gift certificates to the salon for several of my friends, but I won't spend money in a salon whose owner doesn't show a trace of empathy for me or for her technicians.
