I've been to this spa at least 3 times and the first two were mediocre services and lets just say it was 3 strikes your out. My last visit I had purchased a hot stone massage daily deal and when I booked the appointment, I specifically mentioned this deal and specified that it was for a hot stone massage. When I arrived, before my service started, I gave Dawa the deal form. A friend of mine was also using her facial daily deal so we booked what we thought would be one after the other, when in fact we were both put in the room together. This wasn't a big deal, it was a girly day out, we rolled with it. When my massage started I patiently waited for the hot stones to be applied but after the first 20 minutes I asked and mentioned that I had in fact booked a hot stone massage, the worker replied that Dawa had told her to do a normal massage, she didn't know anything about it, and that she'd talk to Dawa AFTERWARD. Afterward, I spoke to Dawa, who didn't seem to care at all that I'd booked one service and got another. She merely said, they didn't have enough time to heat up the rocks because I didn't specify. Uhm? AND that a normal massage is pretty much the same thing as a hot stone massage anyway. WHAT?? She clearly made an error, didn't clarify in her notes that this was a hot stone, even though she had two chances (on the phone, and after talking to her at the front desk when I arrived). She could have done *something* but instead blamed me, the client, and I left that place for the last time. If she had been gracious about it, and given me, say 10% off my next treatment or anything at all, I wouldn't be writing this awful review. Not good customer service AT ALL. read more

I've been here twice since I bought a bunch of group deals. They always seem to have a deal going on. Both times I got a couples massage, since the deal I got was for hot stone massages. Both times were ok. My big pet peeve is when estheticians don't ask for preferences. Both times I was never asked if the pressure was good or warned when a hot stone was put on my body. It seemed like they were just going through the motions. The first time, they up sold me into getting the "customized" facial. It was totally not custom. My fiance and I got the same exact facial. We do not have the same skin at all. I would not recommend this place. It was crapped and the people there are not very friendly. read more

I've been here a few times... it's a cute place, clean and well decorated, if rather small. Last time I tried the shellac manicure, and it's the first time in my life I have ever had a manicure last without chipping. I am so hands-on in my life and so impatient and never maintain nail polish, so I usually don't bother with a manicure very often. The shellac didn't chip at all - there were maybe two slight scratches after a few days. Now my nails have grown out and the shellac peels a bit at the bottom, but it's actually easy to peel it off once it has gone past its useful lifetime. Much easier than rubbing at it with nasty chemical nail polish remover. So for me, way, way better than a normal manicure! I don't know what other spas/salons offer shellac, but Dawa gets some points for introducing me to it and giving me something that actually holds up. read more

This is a one person spa. My experience was very good. I had a basic pedicure. The owner was friendly and relaxed. The atmosphere was calming. Jewelry from Tibet and India was for sale for shoppers. My friend and I went to get the shellac manicure and pedicure with a deal, before we went to Mexico. Within a couple hours one of the nails had peeled off and within a couple days being on my trip my nails already started chipping. I'm pretty sure they said their shellac polish was an imitation brand but still the same quality but it definitely wasn't. I would not recommend coming here. My friend also received rude treatment from the owner when she contacted her to tell her about her disappointment in the nails. read more

Dawa knows my skin so well and goes beyond the treatment to make my experience so relaxing and luxurious. I feel so spoiled when I am there. I purchased a group buy deal for $40 for a Deep Pore Facial and a 30 mins aromatherapy massage. I called long time ago Dawa said it'd be a 90 mins total. I went today and got undressed and laid down at 5:07pm and she told me it's done at 5:48pm. I had my phone with me so I know exactly what time it started and what time it ended. I asked how come it's so short and her reply was that she skipped the registration part and since I am pregnant she couldn't do the whole 30 mins massage. In fact, when I first got in and she saw me pregnant, she said maybe we'll just do the facial and not the massage. I said I can have massage just on the other parts. So she said sure we'll have massage on the arms and shoulders. I suppose it should be 30 mins on arms and shoulders. How could she cut the massage time while it should be a 30 mins massage. Her skill is ok, not fabulous, not bad neither. But I basically think that it's a rip off because the whole 90 mins was cut in almost half!!! P.S. she called the next day telling me that her deal was suppose to be 60 mins not 90 mins. In her brochure, Deep Pore Facial is 70 mins, but she said this Deep Pore Facial for this deal is only 30 mins. HAHA!! she should have name this mini facial then I guess the people who purchased will feel much better!! All I know is, I've only had her service for 41 mins!!!!! And she was rude when she was on the phone, I was having my hair cut so I didn't wanna talk to her at that time but she refused to hang up, anyways I hung up on her eventually. I liked the space, very compact, only one spa room, but the place was pleasant and I was very happy with the service, the speed, and the price. HORRIBLE SERVICE. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! WILL NEVER GO BACK, WILL NEVER EVER RECOMMEND THIS SPA TO ANYONE! STAY FAR AWAY!!!!!!!!! NOT truly shellac, she uses a lower brand called Daisy --should have known my nails would not last long with a low quality polish. **Their website advertises SHELLAC, but they do NOT deliver on that promise, she is too cheap and buys the CHEAP brand). *I will post a picture if I can of the CRAPPY JOB she did. I thought I would have a great time because the owner was doing my nails herself.... I could not have been more WRONG. Long story short, after day 5 ALL of my finger nail shellac polish had chipped off or fallen right off. I was on vacation in Mexico and did nothing but lie by the pool and suntan. I mean nothing, I did NO sports, NO adventures or excursions, and no beach play. My nails should have lasted a little longer than 5 days... My toenails started to chip off by day 7... I have used many Walmart/Zellers brands on my toes and the polish has lasted for months. I have been extremely busy since I got back on Tuesday at 4am with work and family issues. Calling Dawa at her Spa to let her know about my nails was the last thing on my mind. Turns out, it should have been the first thing according to Dawa. She said since I waited till Friday to contact her and tell her. (BTW, all i wanted to do was let her know that the nails chipped, I was not looking for a refund of any kind, nor did I want her to re-do them as i had such a BAD TIME with her the first time. Dawa started yelling at me on the phone and told me many times that its my loss, shes trying to run a business and its just too damn bad. I must have been digging in the sand or being very aggressive with my hands and feet? --how does one do that? Dawa was honestly one of the rudest people I have ever come across and I work in the service industry. She made me feel extremely stupid for thinking that "Shellac polish is better than acrylics" -- taken RIGHT FROM WEBSITE. she said that I must be stupid to think thats the case, the reason why is due to chemicals. I am not one to complain but I feel that the service at this spa is horrible and should be avoided at all costs. DAWA, the owner at DAWA SPA is HORRIBLE, MEAN, and a VERY UNHELPFUL WOMAN. I had a teambuy voucher for a 1 hour hot stone massage. The massage was great and it was obvious that Leena knew what she was doing and also enjoyed her job. She was very thorough and aware of whether the stones were too hot or the pressure too much. Hot stone massages can be a hit or miss- but this was a hit and I really enjoyed it. I have had much better quality service at salons which are like assembly line salons and charged half as much. The staff don't seem experienced to be charging their fees. I was looking for a good place for waxing in Vancouver and my friend recommended Dawa Spa. I first went there before we went to Mexico for 15 days. I got my full legs and Brazilian(almost). I had a couple of hair coming out on my legs after 12 days and they weren't even visible. Bikini lasted for months!! Since I live downtown and Dawa Spa is in Commercial, I decided to find somewhere closer to my place. I tried another place across to street to my apartment.They had sugaring and I heard it lasted long and didn't hurt so much. First of all, it hurt so bad(did I mentioned that Dawa Spa had the most gentle wax I have ever tried. I have sensitive skin(especially my upper legs), Dawa's wax is the only wax that doesn't cause redness on my legs.) My legs were all red and my first time full Brazilian caused me so much irritation and my bikini area hurt for days.Hair on my legs was out in 3 days and fully grown in a week. So, after my bad experiences with other places, I decided to go back to Dawa again today and got my full Brazilian and Full Legs done. My bikini didn't hurt at all and it wasn't even red let alone being purple and irritated. Beside the great service, she is a great person. I feel really comfortable with her(and trust me bikini wax is not really a comfortable process). She is fast and gentle. Her place is clean so I know I can trust her. I don't write good reviews unless I know that the person truly deserves it. I am not sure why people complain but I can tell you that she is the best! read more

I booked the Rejuvenate Spa Package here as I received a gift certificate from my family for wayspa.com and this spa participates in that offer. I decided to book here as it is literally 2 minutes from my house and the prices seemed reasonable. I was a bit leary after reading some of the reviews, but I would say my overall experience was excellent. The spa is super compact, but the owner has it set up very efficiently. She keeps the room heated with a comfortable massage bed. My 1 hour massage was really good with excellent pressure. The facial was fantastic and my skin felt really tight and amazing afterward and I looked more rested. The pedicure was also good. She took the full 3 hours that I was booked for. I found the owner to be pleasant and she worked very hard at her job. I didn't give it a five, because I do find the space a bit cramped and since she works on her own, my service was interrupted a lot by phone calls and it was not as pristine clean as I would like it to be. Overall, however, I was very impressed with this cute little place and I will definitely go back for more services. read more
