This was my third visit to casbah in last three years . My very first visit was equally pleasant as my recent one but don't know how i skipped writing a review. Anyways, please don't miss enjoying their services if you are in the city. You step into a different world here. Even though its in the middle of the city and in a busy plaza but once the doors of the spa closes behind you, the noises of world also shut down. ( maybe thats just me) I was excited for cbd oil body massage coupled with derma facial. I just love pampering myself and they provide the means to you. First you are greeted , and then taken to change room/locker room. You get your locker with a key, a cosy and warm bathrobe, slippers and anything else like a rubber band or face mask. The bathroom has toilet and showers. Vanity has all the required items like a blow dry , roller, pins and stuff. Change and be seated in the relaxing lounge to have a cup of tea or wine until ur esthetician comes to take you to your room for services. Omg, my esthetician was having the most soft hands i ever felt. She was very professional and did good job. Whole experience was relaxing and smooth. Massage bed is heated and they don't uncover your whole body but parts by parts to massage so you are warm and covered the whole time ( letting the shy people know that ) . They have cool range of products to pick from and also they would suggest if that suits your skin type. Once your service is done, you can still relax m chill in the lounge and pay to leave whenever you are ready. I haven't tried anything else there but they do have manicures, pedicures and make up application counter apart from facials and massages so check th out. read more

They need to improve in customer services and how estheticians attend clients, This was my Spa but over the years has gone form worse to worse, workers feel so entitle, rude and disrespectful they forget without clients they have no job this is a two way street. My advice train your employees in customer services o simply re-hire people who can actually represent your business giving outstanding customer service and be respectful. read more

I decided on booking at this spa after doing some research online and wanted a spa environment without Spa Utopia prices! I booked a prenatal RMT massage and the signature Eminence facial. The massage is similar to Spa utopia where it is 50 minutes long versus 1 hour. There's retail parking in front versus on the other side they are marked 1 hour. There are lots of retail products to purchase at the front of spa. The prenatal massage provided cushions where you can lay face down. You have the option to lay on your back with the cushions still under or the RMT can remove. It is a fluffy massage where there's hot towels laid on top and wiped before moving onto other areas. Room was dim with the usual spa music in the background. There is a bit of outside noise during the massage with talking outside the room but it wasn't too bothersome. The relaxation lounge is small with couches and in the room there is tea, water, chocolate, apples and some dried fruit. There's magazines for you to read too. The signature facial was amazing! For $135, you get a what seemed to be 1-2 min foot soak with scrub where your skin consultation happens. They ask what kind of Eminence products you wanted to try... if you don't know the product line it's hard to suggest what you were interested in. There is a back massage followed by a back scrub. Your arms, shoulders, legs and feet get massaged too. This service was 1.5 hours... totally relaxing where it is hard not to fall asleep. My face felt super soft and clean after. You get a sample afterwards and products are left at the front where it's an up sell of wanting you to purchase but they weren't pushy about it. Ok, the change room.... quite small. The downfall is it's awkward to get changed if you are modest in any way. The change room does not lock and you have people opening the door on you. The shower room can easily be viewed by others trying to find a place to change into robes or their clothes. The only locked rooms to change is where the toilets are... I did not notice anyone coming to empty the laundry etc. you can ring the bell for service. I did not try the co-Ed steam room/sauna area. read more

I decided on a last minute facial and was able to book the Signature Eminence Organics Facial Treatment ($135). I showed up 30 minutes early to use their steam room. The steam room is co-ed and connected to the men's change room. I was able to enjoy the steam room and refresh with their eucalyptus towels for about 20 minutes. I then waited in the relaxation lounge for a short time. The lounge was dimly lit. Tea, water and dried fruit was available. For the facial, the foot soak was 2 minutes max with a brief foot sugar scrub during the skin consultation. I would have like to have soaked my feet a tad longer and the scrubbing part to be more than 20 seconds. The back scrub and massage was really relaxing. I felt that lasted about 5 minutes. The facial aspect was very thorough. My skin was glowing afterwards. During the facial, my scalp, arms, shoulders and lower legs were also massaged. There was a small up selling of products to purchase afterwards which I did not mind. I received a product sample to try at home. If only my wallet was bigger, I would love to stop by for a facial every month! read more

I came in for a "Teen fix facial" and I did not see any difference in my face after my appointment with "Ana". Staff do not take care in their clients and do not seem interested in the work they are doing. I was left dissatisfied and robbed of the money that I spent and not seeing any positive changes to my face. I spent $135 for service that did not give me the results I needed. I'm a high school student who works part-time and spending money on this kind of service is detrimental to me. In addition, I was given an arm massage where I was not asked if I wanted one. But staff claims that their employee asked if I wanted one and that I said "yes" to it, which is absolutely not the case! I was laying on the table and the employee grabbed my arm and started to put some oil on my arm and hands, without asking me! I find it shocking that this business lies to their customers to their faces, and having no remorse for it. I was told that I have a "complex skin texture" and that I could not have a lot of impurities extracted. Which is an excuse, as the 2nd time I went to their business I had a lot of blackheads removed. Needless to say, this business made up excuses in order to not provide the service I need done to my face. My point is, I did not get the results I wanted for the money I paid, and this business lies to dissatisfied customers, and shoves them away when they want to handle this dispute in person. read more

I have gone to Casbah 3 times for 4 services. And my husband has as well. I'm not sure why they have low reviews because every experience I have had has been wonderful. I've had 4 difference body workers and each one was great at their job! From facials to massages to body scrubs, it's really a wonderful experience. The environment is wonderful from the moment you walk in. It has a great calming mood about it. I love showing up prior to my appointment and browsing products and relaxing in the steam sauna and relaxation room. Everyone is incredibly professional and sweet. I will continue to be a frequent visitor and keep referring family, friends, and clients to this establishment. Alexis did a fantastic job on a 60 minute massage, Lauren gave a wonderful facial and was incredibly knowledgable about products and turned me on to my new favorite line, eminence, and Sabrina gave the best body scrub and 30 minute shoulder and neck massage of my life. I've gone to Casbah 3 times now so I feel I've given this business a fair shot. I always seem to have trouble getting through to book an appointment. They have a 'book online' option on their website that doesn't ever seem to work. I have loved their facials and body tmts in the past - great services! However the last time I went there was a bit of a bust. I arrived at 10am & it was obvious the place had just opened. Its was freezing inside & other than me, the only staff were busy setting the business up for the day. I don't really think this is hospitable & should be done before the door is unlocked. I had a pedicure; the chairs they have do not recline or vibrate (function is broken on all the chairs, it seems). The Esthetician doing my service said they were old chairs and were being replaced sometime soon. The service itself was so-so. My esthetician seemed a bit weak; I didn't even notice the massage to be frank. With tax & tip this came to over $100, which is far too much. I could have a similar service at my local nail bar (less expensive products used, of course) for literally half the cost. Nice place, nice staff, just not impressed enough. read more

The charm is gone even though a lot of the original fixtures were moved. They compromised on space so that the rooms are just a tad too small for the use. I am writing this review after only one visit - which might not be seen as an objective review - but think of it as a " first impressions count" type of review. For Valentines my BF surprised me with a Signature Mani Pedi combo. When I got there and found out what I was booked for, I asked if I could add a brow & last tint and gel polish - they were able to accommodate the hands but not the feet and the brows not the lashes. I was pleased that on such a busy day they were able to do that. My tech Alysha was AMAZING, she has only been there for 6 weeks but I have never been so pleased with a manicure, or an Estheticians knowledge and manner. I am very very very pleased with the services that Alysha provided me. I cannot give 5 stars for a few of major reasons; 1 - No one offered to take my coat etc. I had to lug it around all afternoon. Why was I not offered a locker as I was booked for a spa treatment? I wasn't (nor was the BF who purchased the package) offered the use of the steam room or sauna???!!!!! That is the main reason I prefer spas to salons, for the experience! Wish I could have had the full experience at Casbah. 2 - The reception area is a very busy and hustling area. Unfortunately it is very close to the manicure stations - too close. I think it would have been a nicer design and keeping with a "spa" environment to have put the manicure stations elsewhere. 3 - While I was having my manicure done one of the front desk girls went to the make up display and spent at least 5 minutes doing her make up!! I even saw her apply mascara directly from the TUBE, she didn't use one of the disposable wands!!!! I was VERY disappointed with my experience at Casbah Day Spa. I wish I had not wasted my hard earned money there and my time (there was a 20 minute delay since their staff had not arrived). I was not given all the services that they outline in a signature facial. (Casbah Signature Facial$117 Our signature facial treatment begins with a VISIA skin consultation followed by our Casbah footsoak ritual and includes a relaxing 10 minute back scrub and massage as well as a hand & arm massage, scalp massage and foot & lower leg massage.) The most surprising was that the staff did not ask me about any allergies I may have. To top it, I find it interesting that such a high end spa would know what facial products to use on me WITHOUT a skin consultation or analysis - I assume everyone gets the same products!!!!! I did not get the VISIA skin consultation or a scalp massage or a foot and lower leg massage....that is outlined in their brochure. I did call to make the supervisor/person in charge aware of my dissatisfaction. I find it humorous that she offered me an upgrade. I could book for an express facial but I would be upgraded to a signature. I am not spending a single cent there!!!!!!! and to top it off, the staff that helped me into the back could not answer basic questions in regards to steam room, what attire to wear for the services...... LOVE this place! I went to get my eyebrows done at Casbah and was very pleased. The ambiance is awesome and I felt more relaxed as soon as I walked in. Everyone was really friendly and accommodating. I was able to get a last minute appointment which was great, they fit me right in. They did a beautiful job on my eyebrows and have the technology to track who you saw last time, whether you have any gift cards on file, etc, which is really convenient. It was super nice that they didn't pressure me to buy any of their products. The only downside is that it's a bit pricey. read more

I have been to Casbah many times. Their service is excellent. The staff are attentive and friendly. In all my visits I have only had an issue one time - it wasn't immediately followed up on because of a communication mishap - but after that was sorted my problem was *fully* resolved. I was not impressed by Casbah Day Spa. I used a special Fraxel offer for half price and saw no results in my face (brown spots) whatsoever. When the clinician phoned a few days later to inquire as to how I liked the results, I replied, "I am not having any flaking of the spots". Her reply was, "Good. That's exactly the results we are hoping for.". Well, that was interesting as she had told me the day of, that the brown spot would flake off. hmmm. I guess you get what you pay for in this service. Perhaps Dr Jason Rivers in Vancouver would be worth the higher cost. I would not return to Casbah. Receptionists are so-so. I would certainly not be tempted to go to them for manicure/pedicure. The prices are outrageous. It makes my skin crawl to think of people spending money like that on their looks (and something they can do at home). wow. read more

Called in to book in for RMT, terrible customer service. They said I needed a card of file for booking and the next day and said they won't book me in unless I have a card on file. They called me the next day saying that they have booked me in for that day and I have missed the appointment? No coordination within staff members what so ever. I usually go 2 times a month. Casbah is my one of my favorite places. It is certainly 'my spa' and I have referred several ladies here who are also happy with their services. The front desk service is good, they are friendly and nice, not like the other spa whose front desk service make you feel like second rate. The ladies at Casbah are quiet and a little on the shy side but not condescending. Treatments and products are great too. Their signature manicure/pedicure services are the best I've had. Yes you pay a little more than the nail salons but you get what you pay for. My manicure looks great and the shellac lasts me at least 4 weeks without any chips or damages. One of my friends switched to Casbah from one of the nail salons because the quality of work is just much better. They do things the right way up to the removal and not take short-cuts. one tip, if you are getting the manicure and pedicure services, it's best you ask for one of their nail tech. Ive had their universal contour wrap and it's awesome! Jeanine is the best at this service - had the treatment 5x and it helped me loose lots of inches and 20 lbs! Plus it's not just a wrap you get, they provide an awesome facial with this service. Great value compared to what you get at the other spa. When it comes to massage, Candice is my favorite. She is friendly and really makes my visit a relaxing one. They offer several other services and have tried majority of them. Casbah is part of my lifestyle and they certainly have enhanced 'me'. read more

Found this when looking for a spa where we could do a couples massage, and get a spa utopia type experience without the price tag because their prices seem to have sky rocketed. Casbah is a bit smaller, but it has an infrared sauna, and the steam room is co-ed, which I always hated about spa utopia, that I couldn't share my spa experience with my husband. Here, we had a nice relaxing time before our massages as they booked the steam room and the infrared sauna for our private use beforehand, without any additional charge. The relaxation area is a bit small when there are other customers in their, and the snacks less fancy, but all in all it was a great relaxing experience and the RMTs were great. It's a nice getaway when you can't get away from the city. read more

Had a bad massage - caused pain where none existed and ignored areas I specifically mentioned needed care - a supervisor called me to get more info on the experience, she mentioned this was a new employee... as if this makes a difference in the service - I paid the same price! I hadn't been to Casbah since they moved to the new location but received a gift certificate for my birthday so booked the Spirit of White Rock treatment - full body exfoliation, seaweed wrap and stone massage. I was delighted to hear that the infrared sauna was included as I had been wanting to give it a try. Despite telling 3 different staff that I had never used the infrared sauna before, no one offered to show me how to turn it on. I spent the first few minutes groping around in the dark to finally find the on button. As I was finishing up my treatment, a man was brought into the room where the steam room and sauna are located. He had not been there before so proceed to get undressed in the common area. As I unlocked the door, we almost ran into each other. He didn't even realize I was in there and became embarrassed. The exfoliation was a disappointment (and I have had many prior treatments at other spas to compare it to). The 'full body' exfoliation excluded my hands, feet, front torso, butt and tops of my legs. As did the wrap. So, all in all, the 'full body' experience covered about 2/3rds of my body. The massage was nice and relaxing but certainly no where near the quality of ones I have had in the past. Casbah was my favorite local spa when it first opened and the owner actually seemed to be interested in taking care of the clients. Ever since she started to expand and hire rather inexperienced estheticians, the quality of the treatments has declined. This is the last time I will visit Casbah. read more

My very first spa experience. My skin has been clearing up from years of acne and I wanted to treat myself and get a little help from the experts. I was warmly greeted when I came in. They showed me to the change room. I got a locker for my things, and a warm robe to put on. Also they asked my shoe size, and I got the most most comfortable flip flops! I went to the lounge area, that had a lovely fireplace, and there was tea, and the perfect lemon water (seriously, how did they get it to taste that good?!?) I had the nicest knowledgeable girl for my facial. Wonderful as far as facials go The room was so wonderful. The bed was even heated! After she gave me a sample of the moisturizer. So I may have to save up for that! Afterward my friend and I got to relax once again in the lounge. There was no rush for us to leave. And then afterwards, they touched up my makeup. When I first checked out this site, it was not my intention to write a review. I'm busy and I just wanted to have a quick peek. But, I was so shocked to read negative comments, I thought I better get typing. I have been to day spas all over the world. With the exception of a spa on the French Rivera and one in Victoria, BC....Casbah is the best anywhere I have been to. I have been going there for as many years as it has been. Following Nicole and the girls from the little first spa to the lovely establishment they are in today. My favorite thing to do is take a girlfriend there for "A Day at Casbah" We catch up, have a complimentary lunch and enjoy all the luscious treatments they offer. I find the products to be second to none, the staff to be very competent and friendly If you want the best, you will choose Casbah. Their prices reflect the services and products they offer. If you are looking for a coupon spa with cheap prices....I agree, you picked the wrong place. Thank you to the girls at Casbah for the MANY lovely visits I have had over the years. read more

Had a bad massage a year ago with the bearded dude, rough hands by nit using enough oil and doesnt flow at all between spots creating a very uncomfortable experienced, figured he was having a bad day so let it slide, fast forward to recent days where my wife ended up with the same dude since all other women were booked, guess what, same bad experience. Since we moved to White Rock, my spouse and I have been coming here regularly for massages. I have never had a bad experience, so I thought to try out their electrolysis service. DO NOT come here for electrolysis treatment. The technician is unprofessional and unaccomodating. She was short with me when I had any questions and made me feel stupid for asking questions in the first place. Because I really liked Casbah otherwise, I put her bad attitude aside and continued to see her for 5 or 6 more sessions. Big mistake. I commuted to see her from Vancouver recently, and upon arriving 10 minutes late, she cut my service time down by 5 minutes. To top it off, she wouldn't even finish the service with the final step which takes LESS THAN 1 MINUTE to complete. She told me that she didn't have time and to put a cold towel on the treated area. I booked my Mum a 55th birthday treatment here for December 2. When she arrived 10 minutes early for her appointment and checked in she was made to wait for 45minutes. When she finally inquired about the wait she was told her appointment was for 415 when she showed them her confirmation text of 345 the staff was scrambling. They didn't offer her a discount or extended service or even an apology. I am so disappointed as this was a $200 package which was made uncomfortable for her from the start. Was recommended to try this spa, so I booked signature facials with my mom and I (while she was in town from PG). It was an early Mother's Day gift from me to her. Side note: my mom has had some difficulty with her skin, adult acne, redness, thinning, etc. From the time we stepped foot in this place to the very end, it was incredible. We started in the eucalyptus sauna first which was heavenly. Then our signature facials and it was AMAZING. The ambience, music, lighting, smells, and both ladies that gave the services were phenomenal. Starting out with deep breaths, back rub, facial cleanser, peel, leg rubs, etc. It was pure magic and I was sold! Your staff took such good care of my mom and I. It was our first time here and it was the best spa experience we both have ever had. My mom was in tears with how happy she was and how her face felt. It was the first time in years it felt that good. Thank you so much for this experience and pampering. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for some serious spa feels!! read more
