I decided on the 60 minute fusion massage which included an oil massage with assisted stretching and there was a promo for a free 30 minute facial. The treatment room was cozy. The service itself was heavenly. I managed to take a nap for a small portion of the massage. The facial was relaxing as it included more massaging to the face in between the layers of skin care. Overall, I liked how quickly I was able to get an appointment. The spa ambiance is relaxing and pleasant. Parking on the plaza is plentiful. I went in for an hour treatment that was supposed to be for reflexology which was supposed to include hand massage and neck and shoulders. When Asma started massaging my shoulders and neck she couldn't believe how tight I was. She really wanted to help me so offered me another half an hour which I grabbed. Asma is going to RMT school but is still working in between. She gave me seriously one of the best massages of my life. She is strong and worked so hard to get my knots out. SOME GOOD/SOME BAD The Good: Massage was wonderful. The table was heated and the facility was spotless. The Bad: Unfortunately, the check out was a disaster. I had prepaid and just needed to leave a gratuity. The person at the desk was very confused, said there was a "glitch" and was going to charge me for the massage and gratuity. I explained myself repeatedly. She said she understood but asked me to stay while she called somebody to ask them what was going on with their system. Three times I explained that I had an international flight and I needed to leave. I confirmed that they had my email and cell phone number. I requested to charge me for the gratuity because the therapist was great. I even went as far as pulling up my bank account to show them that I had paid. She said she understood that but asked me to stay while she tried to figure things out. Her coworker had no idea how to help. I booked a 90 minute massage to send me home on a long flight in a good mood. This was an unfortunate way to end the trip. Wish I never booked it. ***Update to my review from 4 days ago*** Unfortunately, I have had to lower my review due to lack of response from ownership. I had sent an email asking if there would be any adjustment to the bill based on the poor experience I had. Funny how they always got right back to me, but ignored that message. It seems money comes first and customer service second. Very disappointed with my experience. As mentioned, the facility is great and so was the massage. Bad experience with Sabai Spa at Port Coquitlam. I was on the Ultimate package membership, their most expensive one and they wanted to upsell me each time I went lol. Why I am giving such low score in my review is that there is nothing more disrespectful to me as a customer than feeling ripped off. That is what happened here, every time I come, the massage therapist cuts my sessions short, they never honor the time booked. It can be 5,10 minutes but today was the last straw for me. I got a 90 minute spa treatment and my appointment started at 5.15pm, the massage girl comes in and lets me in at 5.10pm but we ended up starting treatment at 5.17pm. She then clocks out at 6.23pm...... How is that 90 minutes ? My treatment was supposed to end at 6.45pm that's almost 25 minutes they missed because their employee was too lazy to work the full session I paid for........ this whole experience left me with a bad feeling of not getting my money's worth. I cancelled my membership right after because this happens EVERY time I come. And then the woman at the cashier tried to impose another session that was needed in order to cancel ??? What a freaking joke , I told them no and had to give a pushback because they are not taking any more money from me. And then they probably wonder why they are losing clients and their place always looks empty. Give a better service and maybe you will keep your customers and have repeated business. I had originally booked a facial this week and when I called to change the day I found out that for the same price I could get a 60 minute massage and a 30 minute facial. So , obviously I booked that and I'm so glad I did . I received the most amazing massage from Ladda,she is very pleasant and professional . I did not realize how much tension I had in my neck and shoulders and she applied just the right amount of pressure to get at the tight spots . My husband bought 2 massage groupons for $89 each (valued at $145) which included a 60 mins massage and mini hydration facial. At no fault of theirs, we arrived 5 mins and needed fill out a questionnaire for another 5 mins. We started the massage at quarter after 11am. The place is nicely decorated, warm and clean. The have background music to set the mood. We were very excited prior to coming here to try out the $145 massage as we usually go for $40 massage elsewhere. My massage was very relaxing and my therapist did the standard set massage from neck to toe. Her pressure was consistent as I asked for medium to firm pressure and her techniques were good. We didn't get to experience the facial as we were late and the session finished promptly at 12pm. This was clarified by my therapist before the session started and I was okay with it. My husband, however, wasn't as satisfied. He has lower back pain and before the session started, his therapist asked him if there were any areas that needed to be worked on, and he told her "lower back and glutes." Through out the entire session, the therapist worked on everywhere else except for his lower back and glute. He finished the massage with a still very sore lower back and said to go for another massage at our regular place. He did say her techniques were good but he wished she could have focused on the problem area as he requested. Overall, we enjoyed the atmosphere and the tea afterwards, but felt even at the Groupon price of $89, it was a bit overpriced. I would rate the experience a 4, but since Dh paid for the massages, he has the final say of a 3 star rating. If you plan on going, make sure you arrive 10 mins BEFORE your scheduled appointment. read more
