The lady was thorough, deft, and gentle when she sensed she was near a sore spot. I also felt like she actively worked on releasing the tension spots when she came across them. I've had a persistent pain in my hip for days and it is now completely gone thanks to some work she did on my neck oddly enough. The facial wasn't aromatic at all but it was very thorough. The extractions were the most painful aspect of a facial I've ever had anywhere, but I really felt she cleaned my pores well. My nose was quite red afterwards, but that has faded overnight. The pain of the extractions undid the relaxation of the body massage but then she did a shoulder, face, and neck massage afterwards which helped me relax again. This facial was the most inclusive package I've ever had. It was very thorough and she explained each step as she went which is helpful to a spa noob like me. She did try to offer me a collagen upgrade for some wrinkles I apparently have, but I declined. So far this is the best spa experience I've ever had. I would definitely go back again for the massage but maybe do the facial only once a month. I'm a big baby about the pain. ;) I only give it four stars because the ambient music and decor could use some updating. The spa is clean, no concern there.

The products WERE scented I have a very sensitive nose and I could definitely tell you that they were scented. We had an invigorating conversation about AHAs and skin best practices which, coming from someone who knows NOTHING about skin care, was much appreciated. I especially loved her creative analogies as she explained why certain products were useful and critical to skin health. After my facial, she provided me with a hand-written note of all the things we discussed so that I can be empowered to experiment and figure out which would be best based on my skin's needs.
