I have been to this place three times in the last few months, and have always loved their work and dedication to detail. Renee, the junior tech who I see, is an absolute delight. However. I unfortunately had an appointment the day after an unexpected snowstorm dumped 15-25 centimeters of snow on the city, and because I don't live on a major thoroughfare, I couldn't leave my neighbourhood. I texted the salon the afternoon before my appointment to apologize for not giving 48 hours' notice, and to ask if they would be willing to cancel my appointment because I was trapped in my neighbourhood and couldn't get out. The person who responded - I assume, the owner? - refused to waive the mandatory no-show charge. Small business owners are hurting, I get that. But so are the rest of us, and having to throw away money on an appointment I couldn't honor through no fault of my own is ridiculous and heartless behaviour. I was prepared to buy gift certificates to the salon for several of my friends, but I won't spend money in a salon whose owner doesn't show a trace of empathy for me or for her technicians. read more

They have an awesome vibe, the space is clean, and each and every one of their nail technicians are extremely knowledgeable about their craft. It's the first nail salon that I've been to where the girls are interested and aware of up and coming nail trends and techniques. They are 100% ahead of the curve. Myth is the junior technician that I've been seeing. She is incredibly talented, very attentive to detail and is always up for a design challenge. I've always been very happy with the nails that I leave with and I've received countless compliments on them since I've started going there. My appointment was at 10:00 and arrived at 10:12 due to traffic. It took me an hour to get here. I was denied service and charged $127 at exactly 10:10. I understand I was there 2 minutes out of the "grace period" but for something that was beyond my control (traffic) $127 was hard to swallow. Bee is simply amazing! She is incredibly talented and I am always in love with my nails. I have seen my share of nail ladies and no one can compare to her quality of work and design. My nails last usually 3 - 4 weeks before I see any lifting. I have never had a broken nail. I could not be happier with the quality! When I get my bling finger all the crystals stay on strong. Before I came to classy claws I would bring in pintrest photos of the nails I wanted, always leaving disappointed because my nails did not look as good as the phone. I'm getting married in a few days in Vegas and wanted something special so rather than seeing my usual gal I booked with Bee, and I sure am glad I did! My appointment was at 9:30am and I'm NOT a morning person, but Bee was super easy to chat with. I brought a pic of some purpley/greenie/bluish chrome nails which was my only reference. I'd seen the shop Insta so I felt pretty comfortable to just let her do her thing with the art. They turned out great - definitely not your average wedding set! They're definitely priced higher than your local chop shop but you're getting what you pay for - good quality hard and soft gel, cleanliness and know how. I also really appreciate not being rushed through as she took her time to make sure everything was right. I started going to Classy Claws about 4 months ago and I have to admit that after my first time, I was hooked for two reasons: 1. Their products are qualiteee and it shows, period! 2. Myth! She's super easy to talk to, professional, sweet, and what a perfectionist! Most of all, I love that she speaks her mind and takes pride in her work. Bee, the nail artist, does an amazing job every time; her creativity and hard work shows through the great-quality nails she creates for you. Her work is okay - great for shape, but application of the polish... could be better. While she takes the time and effort to make sure that your desired nail shape is on par and seems to take great pride in it, I have however on multiple occasions noticed air bubbles in the nail polish application - not sure if she failed to notice or just didn't care. Having marketed herself as a high end nail salon/studio, one would hope that you would receive much better service. No frills if that's what you're into. No 'manicures' here. Just nail applications/fills/polish changes. (Approx $60+) And it's pricey too. I think a salon only really deserves your money when they give you the whole salon experience - massage/soaking/and actually caring for your hands/feet. Classy Claws is not worth it. Basically zero customer service - she's really catty and has an air of she couldn't give a damn about whatever you think. The business is all money-minded, she actually prefers if you get more than a simple set - get the crystals and designs and other stuff - where she makes more money for doing so. I was probably one of her least favourite clients. Well, she's now my least favourite nail aesthetician. Also, trying to make an appointment is akin to puling your hair out. I'd messaged her multiple times trying to make an appointment for about a week to no reply whatsoever. This might have been because I wanted the gel nails removed, while messaging her to get an appointment for a fill went without a hiccup. I had originally been thinking of coming back for another set from her again in a few months, but now have zero desire to come back to bee. Getting your nails done with her is like signing a deal with the devil, as long as you keep coming back for fills, its all good. Want a removal without a new application? Dream on. I was basically 'ghosted' by her for wanting a simple removal, (Approx $10-15) probably because she wouldn't be able to then charge me an arm and a leg for doing so. Snob move. I showed my eyelash extension aesthetician the text exchange and she agreed with me. Nail shaping - 9/10 Nail polish application - 6/10 Customer service - 0/10 Appointment scheduling - 0/10 Overall - 3/10 Also, I just want to say that Lilly M's review is totally on point. DONT GO HERE. NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY. RUDE OWNER, DESTROYED MY NAILS (infection and over filing) AND REFUSED TO TALK TO ME. I was a customer for almost 6 months, when she claimed that she had to move my appointment back from January 18th, to February 2nd, because of an emergency medical leave(when I called to talk to another technician, they said they had no idea what I was talking about) and then I actually continued to watch her do nails on Instagram for the next month. Well all my nails, had broken off. When I went to call, to reschedule my appointment by 15 minuets because I had a family emergency in which a family member was in a coma, they tried to charge me for a set/appointment in which I never ended up receiving. I understand you have a policy, but I waited for almost two months just for a new set. I was going to be 15 minuets late, not an hour. I accommodated a non existent medical leave, and watched her take new clients, while my nails all broke, and my real nails now are in such bad shape, I can't actually go get a new set put on until my nailbeds regrow out because of how much she filed my nail beds down. If you're Bad and Boujee, you have 50 bucks to tip, or you're willing to wait 2+ hours for an appointment that you had booked at 1:30, but she had to push back for no reason, then this is the place for you. I was treated like crap, and I don't think anybody deserves to be treated like that. She pulled my arm across her nail station, and said "holy fuck, get back in your lane". Because my arms were stiff. I actually have really severe anxiety, and I was having a panic attack. That's no way to talk to your paying customer. I'm ashamed to say things like this happened every time I went. I'm so ashamed to say I promoted this place. I don't know what I did to be treated this poorly, when I was always friendly, and tipped. Even when she was horribly rude to me. I'm expecting the owner to blame me, since she did such a good job at embarrassing me publicly! Not to mention she was always texting while doing my nails, and the last time I was there she was even eating pizza. I never saw a sanitized tool, and I guess that came back to bite me in the ass. I fell about 15 feet off a building and sprained both my hand and ankle and didn't lose a single nail! My set looks just as fresh as when I left the studio! Bee is the bestttt. I did a lot of research on nail salons and what good quality acrylics should be before going to Classy Claws, and Bee's work is honestly amazing. She works with your input to ensure that you leave with nails that you love, and the nails are always shaped nicely, are durable, the polish is always even, everything lasts 3-4 weeks which is amazing since most salons require 2 week fills, I get mine done every 4 weeks instead. I've seen some people complain about the price but acrylic nails are a luxury to begin with. If you don't think it's worth the money, you don't have to get them done. But if you have the money and are willing to make the investment, I heavily recommend coming to Class Claws! It may be a little pricier than some salons, but it's because you pay for what you get: the quality is amazing. :) read more
