I called to book a last minute manicure for two. The nail tech booked us in right away. They were considerate, knowledgeable and skilled. The window decorated with miniature clay flowers, hanging art, crafts, and live plants. They created a perfect spot to take photos when we were done. I was happy with the service, price, and nail polish quality. My gel nails stayed shiny and chip-free after a day of grocery, gardening & house cleaning.
I urge anyone considering this nail salon to stay away. There are perfectly better nail salons who actually care about your nails. First of all, me and the bridesmaids booked an appointment for all 4 of us including the bride. They were late in getting us in, but we knew they were busy so we waited patiently. The owner, don't know her name, did the brides nails and we weren't happy with how sheer it was so we asked for more layers and she obliged. They were talking about us in their native language, Vietnamese, which is OUR native language as well. We heard and understood everything they said. Which we were not too happy with. They cut corners and said they were too busy to even moisturizer or do a massage on the service of our manicure. Second of all, the owner who did the brides nails cut her cuticles and they were excessively bleeding as you can see in the attached photo. The bride pointed that out however she just said I know and did not apologize or offer her a bandaid. Third of all, she said to her employees that we were a hassle because we wanted to share paying for the brides nails and she said that she isn't going to get any tip because of that. MONEY Hungry here. Do not go here unless you want to bleed and be talked about. Please.
Came back to get one of my acrylics put on 11 days after because it snapped off when I was lifting heavy equipment. Made an appt at 4:15 and didn't get helped until 5 pm. One of the technicians kept apologizing. When a girl that arrived after me was served first, I was getting frustrated but the technician quickly came over to explain why without me having to ask. I appreciated that they hadn't forgotten about me and her explanation made sense! Since I waited 45 minutes, they put on my one broken acrylic nail back on for FREE as an apology! They also helped fill in a small chip on my index finger. I told them I can pay but they insisted due to the delay. Very impressed w their service :) My nail tech Nancy was super sweet and nice, just like the first visit. She is quiet and doesn't talk to you much, but takes great care and detail into your work! I haven't seen many other reviews here mention Nancy but she is amazing!
I love yelp so that I can read reviews before I go to the places. That's doesn't mean I don't go to shotty places - I've been going to Phat Nails for years and although the reviews are bad I just look past some stuff. I know I'm going to a cheap place and the customer service is sub par. I went to vivid nails that also had good reviews and they were really polite but after my pedicure I came home and self filed another 1/4 inch off my heels. So I searched again and found that Welcome Nails on the way home from work was good in the ratings. I went and honestly this is my new nail place. They were so friendly and accommodating at the same time being a budget nail salon. I got a woman named Nancy and the price was cheaper than vivid and Phat nails and I've never had such a dedicated shaping and even polish in either of the aforementioned places. This is my new place for sure.
Went for a pedicure with my wife and during the pedicure I felt that the lady was digging way deeper into my big toe than needed. It was downright painful. It's a few days after the pedicure now and my toe is completely infected. Can't walk properly to the point that I can't work! If the pain/infection/swelling doesn't start to dissipate in the next 24 hours, I guess its off to the doctor for me. The unfortunate part is they all seem like nice people... but I should be able to walk after a pedicure. Didn't know how to complain, so I thought I'd just write a review. DO NOT GET A PEDICURE!!!!!
Had a very disappointing visit to Welcome Nails today. We booked all four chairs for 1:30 telling them it was a wedding party in advance. There were four girls working and only two were available when we arrived. 3 of us started our pedicures within 20 mins, but an hour later our forth was still sitting with her feet in the tub waiting for her technician. Around that time another customer who had a 2pm appointment realized there was no way she would be helped soon, got frustrated and complained to the manager, who then asked me if she could stop working on mine and go help her. Bizarre. Then five other people with appointments came in and she just told them to come back an hour later, one of which she tried to convince that she had cancelled the appointment. The entire time she would stop to pick up the phone and forgot what she was doing. I received half a leg massage and no top coat on one hand, had to point out issues to correct with the application. Entire experience was odd, seemed like most of the girls do really nice work and they have a great in stock colour selection but it was not an organized or relaxing experience. The bride left without having her manicure done due to confusion to what she wanted during booking which was a bummer. I'm hoping based on the other reviews they were just having a bad day, but I wouldn't go back... Even for the decent pricing.
This is actually a 4.5! My nail technician, Dina, was amazing! She was very careful and when I pointed out a bump that formed from the top coat, she was quick to file it and re-do the nail! Welcome nails is one of those salons that may take a little longer but will leave you feeling satisfied. They also have a huge selection of gel/ shellac polish colours! They lost half a star because although they were fairly busy, I feel that waiting more than an hour especially when I had booked an appointment, is ridiculous!!
Love this place. I've been here twice and it just keeps getting better. I went in initially wanting acrylics but they were able to fix up my natural nails instead, saving me a ton of money AND my nails. My technician was super sweet, meticulous and really took her time to make sure that my nails were perfect. She also really knocked the nail art out of the park. Reasonably priced, they really look out for you, and the nails are beautiful - I recommend this place to everyone.
Got a ombre acrylic fill here recently, the girl burnt me on most fingers with the sander removing the old acrylic, she wasn't even going to shorten them until I asked and it took 2 hours when it should've only taken an hour and they make my fingers look short and stubby. I had been here once before and the girl did a good job but both times they started my appointment 15 min late and after this experience I won't be back.
AMAZING nail salon. Perfect place. Clean. Great shape. Tons of Colors to choose from. No running to ansr the phone 1000 times during your appointment. Totally impressed! I WISH I would have found welcome nails long ago. Thank you for the great job. Taking your time to not rush and do a shotty job on my shellac! The other place have ruined my natural that I was going to long term so this salon is close and the reviews speak for themselves don't just go by mine! Very happy customer. Thank you!!
Two different nail salons did a poor job on my manicure and pedicure gel polish. My middle toe nail split in half in the middle when the polish that was lifting on the side snagged on my pillow. Nina (sp?) had a light touch and they use a fine rotating filer for removing the polish while holding down my broken nail. They applied fake nail hardener (didn't sting) and I can finally walk around again without fear of my broken nail lifting up! Surprisingly, they found a matching broken toe nail on my other foot that I didn't notice lol these guys are def comfortable in doing these emergency nail repairs. I highly recommend - this is my new go to Nail Salon. Wait is not long either.
Once again welcome nails to the rescue. I had a horrendous job up the street because I mistakenly tried the new shop in the neighbourhood. Welcome nails took me back, and repaired the horrendous work the other place had done and even have me a discount seeing I'd had to come back and go through the trauma with torn up cuticles. Once again a perfect job, quick, affordable and extremely accommodating. Best nail bar from Victoria to Renfrew. Rubbish that they don't understand you, because I'm Aussie and I promise if I can sit and gossip for hours pretty sure they're great at understanding me! Never had to wait more than five unless I was late and missed my appointment, always been looked after like a valued customer.

Went here yesterday for the first time. A small modest nail salon, that is busy busy busy! I did have to wait about 15-20 mins after my appointment time, but I think that's pretty normal with other comparable salons. Also I need about that long to pick a colour which I did while I waited. I went in for a new set of acrylic nails. I haven't had my nails done in about a year and it was time. Nancy is amazing. She did my nails and spent so much time on shaping them and making them perfect. They are the most beautiful almond shape. Easily the best shaped nails I've had, and under 100 dollars for a new set with tip and special chrome powder on each. Unfortunately my phone can't capture the colour (a sort of greige with chrome purple on top) but my nails are stunning and I couldn't be happier I will be back ! read more

Love this place. I've been here twice and it just keeps getting better. Just had an acrylic set done by Nancy. She did such an amazing job, I've never been so happy with my nails before. I'm so happy I discovered this little place. Everyone in the shop seems very friendly. I'll definitely be back again! read more

Called them for a last minute appointment today and explained to them it was my first time coming here (my daughter goes here and recommended it as I was no longer happy with my regular nail salon). My appointment was for 1pm. I walked in at 12:50 and was instantly greeted by Sophia, was shown a color wheel, and WOW the colors are endless, largest selection I have seen!! Sophia was beyond helpful in my color selection as I am always indecisive and all she did was laugh and help me, not once was she annoyed. The pedi and massage she provides is one of the best i have ever had. As Sophia was doing my pedicure Nancy was removing the disaster left by my previous nail salon. Both ladies where very friendly and very pleasant to chat with and have such friendly personalities. Once Sophia was done my pedi Nancy took me over to her nail station and when I say she was focused, focused doesnt even begin to describe it. My nails turned out perfect!! She did all color and art work to perfection!! Needless to say I WILL BE BACK! And have now found my new spot!! Job well done ladies!! read more

I was here last night just to remove my gel nails and do a french manicure. I made an appointment at like 5:30pm and like what others have said they do not start you on time. There were two ladies there that did ppl's nails and they each had a client who were both doing gel nails with nail art. Sad to say that they just started when I walked in at 5:25 pm. So, I knew I had to wait like at least a good 20 mins and I was right. They didn't start working on my nails still 5:50pm. I realize they booked another person at 5:30pm too. When they started to remove my gel nail they lady told me they were short a girl which is y i needed to wait. I told her it was fine because i expected. I have to say they have decent service because once I sat down the lady noticed my fingers being really cold and offer me tea and in the end she helped me wear on my jacket. The whole experience took like 2 hours to do. They don't rush you out even though they close at 7 (I was out the door around 7:30ish). They even told me if it chips the next day because it's not fully dried that I can come back and they can fix it for me. I would recommend this place to others only if you have the patience to wait. To remove my gel nails it was 5.00 (7.00 if u don't use their service after) and 18.00 for a regular manicure but I did french so that was an extra 5.00. I have to say that's pretty cheap because there were other places I've been to and it was way more. read more

I enjoy the rapport with staff that gets to know you and chimes in when choosing colors and such. It's nice to feel connected and valued when you are trying to unwind with a bit of selfcare. On this last visit my regular esthetician had a walk-in client a appear who needed a quick procedure. I was happy to oblige with a short wait so that she could take that extra client. I think having a bit of give-and-take when you're in a busy place is to be expected and in tern it puts everyone at ease. read more

Dina is AMAZING! Wasn't too sure, but I went in because price was good and ratings were decent! Ended up coming out with an awesome mani pedi! I just walked in and they took me even though it was just 30 minutes till closing time, Dina took her time cutting my cuticles and shaping my nails perfectly and ended up staying an hour and half after closing time just to finish my nails, not rushing like most people would! I wish they would have more selection of shellac colours, they have enough, but just the colour I had in mind, I couldn't find there . I haven't had such a fantastic manicure in years, already looking forward to my next visit when I am in Vancouver! :) Highly Recommend this place! read more

Just had my nails done this afternoon and I LOVE it. I'm someone whose absolute picky with my nails, and these girls did a great job. Got to the store around 3:30 as a walk-in for a full set of acrylic nails(the set includes gel on top) for 65$. They were quite busy so I waited for around 10 minutes, not bad. The whole process was very professional, but remember it's NOT a SPA kind of experience, so don't expect it will be all quiet and soothing. But all the staffs are really friendly and the most important thing is -- THEY ARE GOOD AT WHAT THEY ARE DOING. My whole process took 2 hours, the girl did check with me several times with the shape of my extensions, the length and willing to do adjustments according to my request. Left the store feeling happy and I will definitely return for extension/fill. read more

Since moving to Vancouver a few months ago I have been looking for a new nail place. I've found it at Welcome Nails! I had some UGLY acrylics on that I got a week prior (somewhere else, ofcourse) and paid $75 dollars for them. I let Ellen know why I hated the ugly, misshapen nails I had, and she assured me she would be able to fix it. She did! The shape is AMAZING! I am a nail biter, and she took the time to push down my cuticles so that my nails looked more natural. She stayed 20 minutes past close to make my nails perfect. I love them! The price was SO reasonable! I ended up paying less than $50 for a gorgeous set of meticulously done nails. Definitely will be returning! Thanks Ellen! read more
