The most cleanest nail spa i have come across. Maybe they were extra cautious after covid-19 but however they were very minutely cleaning each and every thing after a cleint was done. Santize the chair om which the cleint sat, discard the disposable feetwash basin, desensitized each and every bottle and trolleys used, got rid of one time used cleaning equipments n desensitized the rest. Cleaned the window screens n table top. I mean everything as i was watching when they were busy doing my pedicure n manicure with beautiful chrome nailpaint on my original finger nails . I must say that my lady was detail Oriented and took her time to clean and paint my toe nails. Similarly manicure was done with care. The staff can speak good English even though they talk in their language. Clean washrooms and too many towels to be used after hands cleaning. Drinking water is available at request. The place didn't smell paint or anything like many other nail salon. So overall a lovely experience. read more

I had a wonderful experience today at La Lotus Nails Spa. I got my nails done as a birthday treat with some friends and we all had a great time. Cloud took great time and precision with the design I asked for (French tip and a heart in the middle) and I did not feel uncomfortable in any way, in fact I quite enjoyed myself. This is more a 3.5/5. Came here after work out of convenience. The salon is huge and nicely decorated, quite clean as well and spacious. Because of the location, prices were a bit high - I paid about $55 including tip for a gel mani and removal. Overall, it was a good experience, the manicurist was diligent although a bit slow. They don't use any electric tools for removing the polish or buffing your nails if you prefer that. She did a really good job shaping my nails but I think the polish application was so-so. She applied only two coats of the polish and didn't give me a chance to assess before doing the top coat - for my polish colour I would have preferred 3 coats as it's slightly see through and not as opaque as I'd like. The top coat application is what I'm least happy with - you can tell it wasn't smoothly applied, there are streaks on almost all the fingers and little dents where the top coat isn't smooth. They have a good color selection and possibility of being a good salon, but for the price and location, I feel like there's still a few things they need to work on! read more

I had a positive experience here at this nail salon. I needed an acrylic fill and manicure, and I needed it BAD. I made an appointment here and was seen promptly. I liked the overall ambiance here: it's a lovely salon, clean and large, with great-looking pedi stations (I'll have to try out the pedis here, for sure!), and immaculate manicure stations. The lighting is calming and the brick wall finishes and Asian art pieces create a relaxing environment. I also liked how they had a cell phone charging station and a tv on high for those of us who can't/won't let go of technology even while at a spa.. lol! Two months ago experienced sub par customer service at my all time favourite nail bar. I've waited this long to find a better place which I did "Glamstar" , much better then la lotus . La lotus They are often busy and hard to book, when I use to go there I always try to pre book , they never get back to till last min , SO UNPROFESSIONAL!! I am a long time client who has supported this company ($160-300 plus sets of nails) for many years. Sadly when Covid hit I was forced to get a set by another company. I called in to my favourite nail bar establishment for a single nail fix. Unfortunately the lack of sincere customer service left me empty. I truly do not know if I will support this nail bar after this experience. Instead of the upbeat can do attitude I was expecting, I was not offered a solution either. I hung up the phone unsure of what had just happened. Typically if you are not willing to fix the single nail, surely you would offer to soak it off and put a new one on? This was not the case. I was walking around on Easter Sunday downtown and looking for something to do. I searched out some nail spa places but didn't see any that caught my eye nearby. So I yelped and found this place. When I walked up to it I realized I'd seen it many times. I've gotten some tasty vegan bahn mi and pho at Baoqi across the street. (You must go they have meat + veg options.) They had time right away for me. When I went in I was like holy crap this place is gorgeous and totally calm and had some nice pedicure chairs. I've had MANY pedicures before. (You know the ones where you sit there and your pedicurist shouts to her friend across the room the entire time and doesn't speak to you or you can't really understand what she's asking you anyway.) The service here was GREAT. I think I had Jennifer N. She was smiling and talking to me bringing me multiple fresh teas. Asking me if I'd like my feet scrubbed, if I was ticklish, etc. So polite and nice for a change. They are also SUPER sanitary which I've never seen before. Wearing latex gloves, the foot bath is still lined in plastic, they use fresh nail files on you and you can take them home. Their instruments are sterilized and come from a package. All for $45? Yes please! She did a great job painting my nails too. Shaped them nicely and had a perfect coat of polish on them. The massage chairs are awesome. It's basically like a free massage with every pedicure. Since I had sneakers on I had to wait longer for my polish to dry. And Jennifer was all "go ahead sit as long as you'd like, you want some more tea?" How thoughtful! Even my husband was impressed with my feet when I showed him. Torn about this - I've had good gel fills but twice had crappy ones. Most recently, I had one 2 Wednesdays ago. First nail gel broke by that Friday. By Monday a second nail began to break and by Thursday a third nail broke. This morning, a forth nail is going! Last time this happened, another technician fixed it for no charge. The lovely ladies (and one gent) of La Lotus do a fantastic job at reforming malformed claws and paws. A convenient downtown location on Davie at Granville, they have a vast quantity of pedicure stations plus nail stations and can likely fit you in at a moments notice. I've been going here for a couple of years now and most everyone does a bang up job. Kim, who I believe is the owner is the best at manicure - I've been getting the Shellac polish. It's amazing BUT you do need to give your nails a break between applications as the removal can be very hard on thinner nails. There is one technician who is downright surly and rough with her clients - I've had the misfortune to be mishandled by her - I recommend not requesting Jen D for any services. Other than her poor attitude this place is warm and professional. I can't really plug much of their other services as I usually only go for a mani-pedi. I did once go for a massage and it was not a great experience - I stick to a registered masseuse for that. read more

This is a bit of a hidden gem! When I walked in I didn't realize that the place was going to be so large and well decorated inside. I needed a Shellac removal and re-paint and they were able to facilitate my walk in. I am seriously impressed at the quality of the work. Donna was my nail artist and she gave so much attention to detail that the end result was really perfect! I will be sure to come back here again! Always passed this place but never had a chance to try it out and it's been in existence for 8 years. The place is nice, quite huge, and very peaceful looking. I liked that they had a private room for eyelashes and another section for nails. Didn't really like the receptionist who wasn't friendly or helpful. She spent 95% of her time texting on her cell. The technician was, thank goodness, friendly, knowledgeable, and very efficient. The spa offer the classic eyelash set (multi single) for $55 and touch up for $25. Or, there is also the Single eyelash set for $85 and the touch up is for $35. They charge $20 for eyelash removal. The glue they use appears to be really strong. The hours are pretty good, sun to wed 10am-7pm and thurs to sat 10am-8 pm. The downside ? It is smack in the middle of downtown, so it's all metered parking and traffic is a hassle to get to the place The price is on the high end, for the service they offer. read more

I was really excited about this place, but I just really didn't like my manicure that much. Especially for the price. So, here's my experience: I got an appointment same-day on a weekday. Yes! I was so excited and desperate for a manicure. The salon is beautiful, and big for Yaletown. They have all the best products too! I usually get a regular pedicure and shellac manicure, but I was convinced to get a shellac pedicure as well so that it could dry quickly, and at the same time as my hands. But, the quality of the polish seemed like it was really not that great. The technician did barely two coats, and it started chipping off within a week. Plus, my cuticles weren't cut back enough and I left feeling grimy. To top it off, I asked for square nails with rounded sides and tried to correct the shape a few times before giving up and going with rounded nails. It's not a terrible place to get your nails done. And maybe I caught them on a bad day. But for the price.... I went somewhere else afterward. read more

After reading all the fantastic reviews on here, I decided to stop in over a lunch break one weekday. The salon was pretty quiet, so I figure I must have lucked out. Kim took me in right away for an axxium gel manicure. I let her know it was my first time in the salon, she made a big deal and welcomed me warmly. It was nice! As I was sitting down, I asked to skip the soak/massage part of the mani and let her know I was in a bit of a hurry, but I still wanted my cuticles cut/proper shaping etc. I picked my color, and she began stripping the old polish from my nails. Then, she just got up and said over her shoulder as she began to walk away "oh i'm going to Starbucks". WOW. Not only was that completely rude to ME, there was only one other girl in the salon at that point and she had a client. So when the phone rang (as it always does) the other tech had to leave her OWN client to answer... Every other place I've been to, the tech sits to chit chat or at least STAYS in the salon. Two people have now received crappy service so you could go on a Starbucks run? Again, WOW. -1 star I sat and watched some stupid reality TV about Joan Rivers and her daughter for a good 10 mins before Kim came back. Not impressed. Once she had her coffee, she rushed through the rest of my manicure (my cuticles were cut very poorly, a few of my nails were shaped weird, too.). She did, however, do a great job with the actual polish. Quick, neat and my nails looked great. Towards the end, she asked if I wanted a few jewels on each of my ring fingers. I said yes, but regretted it almost immediately. She put wayyyy too much glue on the tiny stones, it mushed out from underneath when she placed them and looked tacky on my gel manicure. Arg. What she did next blew my mind, she put blob of clear polish ON TOP of the jewels. All the other manicures I've had like this always use an extra super thin layer of the clear gel to seal the stones. I had lumpy/scratchy nail surfaces. -1 star All in all, I won't ask for anymore nail art unless maybe I am seeing Vivan. But I am willing to go and get my next manicure here done by someone else. My fave pedi place. It is clean and does not smell like chemicals. The standard of foot care and polish application is very high. They don't try to sell you a bunch of extra stuff or services or insult the state of your feet. I have tried other places but LA lotus is consistent and service oriented. I used to have gel nails but I had to stop because a lot of the technicians I saw were really rough on my nails, either with over buffing or with the buffer getting too hot on my nails and it ended up hurting more than it was worth having. But my nails aren't super strong and I do a lot of work with my hands so I decided to try the gel nail route once more. When I called the girl on the phone was really nice and helpful and she was able to get me in the same day I called. When I came in I was offered tea and was told about how long of a wait I had (I came in a few minutes early just in case I had trouble finding the place, which I didn't). The space is really clean, the atmosphere is super inviting and everything is done in these rich brown and cream colors. There's lots of space and everyone is so nice. I met with Janet - who was kind, professional and really personable - and we had a consultation about what I was looking for and how we might achieve that and then we were off. Janet was super gentle, let me know what was happening every step of the way and what products were being used. I really appreciated her taking the time to let me know what she was doing. It felt like my nails were getting the pampering they deserved and I really appreciated how thoughtful she was. Needless to say I now have a lovely set of new nails and I have already rebooked with her for a fill in 3 weeks. I was referred here by a spa (in the convention centre) to help me "recover" from a botched nail job I recieved for my wedding... 6 Years later, I am going regularly to be "saved" from my own nail abuse. I recieve so many compliments on my nails from random strangers and all the credit goes to Vivian. She is an artist and allows me to have completely natural looking nails that make my day everytime I look at them. La Lotus' team of girls also give a great pedicure! Went for a regular pedicure here. They follow the proper sanitization protocol. The interior place is very fancy which attracts the customer.But the pedicure service was not that good. The water for foot soaking was also cold. No proper massage and hardly any foot scrubbing. read more

Eyelash extensions I went there because I bought a coupon. I went there in the summer. Wanting to be more low maintenance. When I got there, the beautician told me to choose the looks. They all looked the same. He also said I should upgrade to the single lash, it will make the look more natural. I opted not to, since the reference pictures looked fine. He taped my bottom lashes down with tape and the corners of the tape irritated my eyes. He just said, as long as it's okay when you close your eyes then that's fine. So I kept my eyes closed. But it shouldn't have pricked my eyes in the first place. The process felt rough, each time he put the lashes on, I felt pricked. By the end of it, I couldn't keep my eyes open because it stung really badly. I had to keep my eyes closed for a longer period of time. Then when I saw myself I was shocked. It looked so dark and thick and as if I was wearing strip fake eyelashes. Since it was my first time getting eyelash extensions, I thought maybe it was supposed to look like that and I will get used to it. It only got worse. When I got home, I noticed a lot of imperfections. I can see the glue by the base of the fake lashes. It was also stiff and uncomfortable. The next couple of days, my eye lids actually got a bit swollen due to the irritation. I decided to tough it out for another week. The extensions only looked good if I was to put on heavy eye make up. So my hopes of being low maintenance actually added on to my morning routine. Finally, after 1.5 weeks, I had to get it removed by a different salon. Since you can't pay me to set foot in that place. I had another voucher too. I burnt it. read more

I searched for nail salons downtown Vancouver and this was one of the first to be listed! Rated highly by locals. They have an Instagram page where you can check out some of their work to see if it suits your liking. That's what I always do before I got to a salon for the first time and I was impressed! I booked an appointment same day of calling and was seated immediately when arriving. I got a French fade manicure and it's easy to say my favourite set of nails I've had done. I came here to get my lashes filled and I was happy with the job that they did. They have two regular staffers who specialize in lash extensions so at least you know who you're going to get and have consistent result. Now, I think what they consider a fill is different from La Lotus but that could because of the state my lashes were in. He had to remove most of them, so it turned out to be a complete fill, which cost me $55. I've had them for about a month and I'm going in for a fill. I like that you get to have a private room and the gentleman did my lashes put on some music to keep me calm and relaxed. I actually fell asleep - which isn't uncommon. Poor guy probably had to deal with my snoring! I would certainly recommend La Lotus for your first time or if you prefer a bit more privacy and personal attention. I was pretty excited to get my nails done but they called me and said the nail lady I booked for myself can't work so either they cancel my appointment or change it to another time which was not possible for me. Kent did a beautiful job on my nails. He was friendly and very honest (didn't let me go too over the top with the nail art). There was a bit of a wait even though I had an appointment at 2:45 I didn't get seated until 3:15 but you have to understand that when a business offers a groupon there's going to be some grid lock with the bookings, especially on a Saturday. I was happy they were able to get me in at all as I booked last minute. Receptionist was really sweet and chatty cause she knew I was waiting longer than planned - much appreciated. The place is super clean and even pet-friendly! I really like how their tools are autoclaved and things like nail files are either given for you to take home or thrown out right away. After experiencing this place for three separate appointments, I feel I can give a full review. The positives, the nail techs do an excellent job. The place is clean, and there is an ambience that fits with the Yaletown standard. Here's the thing though, and why I'm only giving two stars. We are expensive, and I don't feel you get more service for the extra price you pay to have your nails done here. They push gel polish excessively. For my first visit, I went in with the intention of gel polish, so this wasn't a problem, but for the second, the person would not stop about the gel polish add-on for the entire appointment even though I politely declined several times. For the third appointment? I specified when I made the appointment that I would not like gel. I was asked again when I went in, in which I also declined, yet they still put gel polish on my toes and then tried to charge me for it. I do understand a business upselling their services, but this level of pushiness is too much for me, so I won't be back. There are just too many other great nail places in the city. read more

I've been here a few times for mani/pedis and every time I leave I'm happy with the quality of service and how my nails look. The staff there pay great attention to detail. Most importantly everything there is super clean from the pedicure tubs with disposable plastic liners to the nail tools coming in sterilized packets. The prices here might be a little higher than some other places in the neighbourhood (especially for their shellac service) but well worth it due to the quality.
