5/5 I don't typically review non food related places but charisma spa was just so great. Me and some friends were in town for the weekend and wanted pedicures. We called around to maybe 4 different places and charisma was the only location to accept 4 of us as walk-ins at the same time. The location is right on a busy street so it is a little hard to find parking. When we entered there was one woman getting a manicure and 5 pedicure chairs along the opposite wall. The ladies here took great care of us, me and my buddy got a standard pedicure and our partners added polish. Pricing seemed expensive but when doing the conversion, were from Seattle, it was on par with our prices. We all agreed, this random shop we stumbled upon was probably the best pedicure either of us have ever had, and collectively, we've had ALOT. They do such good work here. Make you feel very comfortable. The only thing that could make It better was if they served drinks (hint hint) lol. If you're looking for a solid pedicure at a fair price, come here! read more

I used to frequent Yaletown Nail Spa in the area before taking a much needed six month break from acrylics/gel nails entirely. I felt myself itching to have my nails done and decided to stick to shellac for the time being as my nails regained their original strength. I was in need of a last minute mani on a Friday night and seeing the decent reviews for Charisma, gave them a call. They were able to squeeze me in on short notice and I have been going to them ever since. Pros: -Price point is great for the Yaletown area. For a shellac mani pedi with cuticle/callus removal, you're looking at around $90, which is more than reasonable -Literally 2 mins from where I live. Super convenient for when I need a last minute appointment -Meticulous with their work. I've seen a few of the girls here and they are professional while being friendly and amiable with you -They always have some sort of mindless reality TV show on that is perfect mani entertainment Cons: -None really. They're much, much better than Yaletown Nail Spa, where I used to feel like I was a sheep being herded to my chair and they cut me while filing multiple times. Take all sorts of cards too. I am totally disappointed with their customor service and the way they treated customers. This was my second time here in this place and I chose it becouse two people work on your nails simultaneously and I was in a hurry that day! I asked for both schellac on my hand and foot, the foot was good but the hands were awful, too many layers of polish on my nails which made a thick look that I do not liked it. I called them and ask to change for free , they gave me time and said yes we change it!! When I went there they tried to convince me that this was normal and they cant do anything for free. They were disrespectful and after struggling they admit to remove it, so I have paid fully but not satisfied with no shellac on my nails!!! Never go back there:(( read more

This wasn't my first time but it will definitely be my last!!! I came in with 2 girlfriends to get a birthday mani/pedi. Everything was cool at first but then the person doing my pedi started getting very short and aggressive with my feet. The person who was doing my mani needs to go back to school because there were a ton of mistakes and the space left unpolished made it look like a two week grown out manicure!! My friends and I were polite and even left them a tip, but the second we were out the door we started comparing how bad our nails were. One even had red marks from the overly aggressive cuticle trimming. All of our manis were so bad all 3 of us had them redone a few days later. Save your money and go somewhere else!!! I found this place when I dropped off my dog at Pawsh dog spa next door. It's only been opened for 2 months so it is brand new. Michelle did my French manicure perfectly using Essie and opi polishes. It's about 30 dollars for a regular French manicure and she only took about 25 minutes to do the most perfect job (with perfect smile lines) and it stayed on for 2 weeks without any chips or nicks..even though I didn't choose the gel polish! Also the owner gave me a luxurious hot pillow to put on my shoulder which was very relaxing! she helped me reheat it twice till I left the salon. The interior design is absolutely stunning with all whites and feels like a friend's cozy place. I also thought the place deserved 5 stars because the owner allowed me to stay in the salon until my dog was ready to be picked up. She offered me complimentary delicious chai tea with mint chocolates in a fancy porcelain cup while I watched a movie on their pedicure sofa. Left extremely satisfied with a free opi mini lotion to keep in my handbag! Score... Will definitely be back! read more

We made an appointment. We couldn't call them from our USA mobile phone. They don't accept calls from non caller ID phones and ours didn't populate. That was weird. They were ready for us with the team of four to take care of my wife and I getting a spa mani/pedi. Only weird part was that the girl doing my nails made me reach across my body in an uncomfortable position as she didn't want to move to the other side of my body by changing sides. All clients were masked, estheticians were masked when with clients. WHAMMY!! Excellent customers services. Also they are speaking fluent English (amen to that). I went to an another place in da West End before and it was a lil bit tricky... The girls were more comfortable with their own foreign language... Also the ''Double Decker Mani+Pedi for 50.00$ is a great deal for Yaletown... I went there before when it was the previous owner. It was great too. But I really prefer the massage chair they got now then the previous coach. So relaxing... TV screen and free wifi... Tumbs-up for that!! Awesome as they open the tools in da front of you. Much appreciated... As I don't really believe in sanitizing the tools in ''hot water''... My mani and pedi was purfect... I booked an appointment with Tina for a full set of french gel nails. I arrived about 5 minutes early and was seated right away. Tina did an excellent job with my nails. She was very attentive to the length and shape that I wanted my nails to look like. Very friendly staff and they all seemed happy to be working there. A little on the pricey side compared to what I've paid in the past. Before tip, it came out to $63 for the full Gel Nail French Set. I didn't mind though because she really did a great job. Just off the Cambie street bridge, it's a smaller little salon. Perfectly seats four of those giant massager chairs (which does thoroughly squeeze your bum and thighs on one of those settings LOL). The receptionist, I believe her name was Silver, was sweet enough to take my coat, offer me a hot beverage (with a little side dish for the tea bag and spoon), plop down a blanket, grab me a magazine AND a chocolate mint. The lady actually doing the pedicure was really sweet too. The only one thing that brought it down one star was I was wishing she applied the moisturizer AFTER feet n legs were washed and dried. Once she was done the entire service my legs felt dry (she used scrub and then use moisturizer right after prior to rinsing). It was a pretty breezy night, so after the pedi and waiting for the cab, my legs and heels were starting to dry out. :( read more

This place is less than ten minute walk from the Westin Grand Vancouver. Manicures and pedicures provided with great precision and care! One of the best pedicures we've had in recent memory. The services offered are extensive, the salon is very clean and the music is pleasant. I wish this was closer to us than 2000 miles but we'll be back whenever we visit Vancouver. I was thrilled to be able to book an appointment online at night and get a confirmation the next day. Arrived at my appointment and was given a delicious cup of jasmine tea. It was a very wet and cold day. Very much appreciated. I got a full set of acrylics with gel color. I picked a gorgeous red shade and oval shape. I couldn't be happier. It's three (3) weeks into the manicure and no chips, no breaks and I'll get another week out of the manicure too. I would recommend this salon to the most fussy of women. I don't know how to rate this place.. first time I went to get shellac it was great, it lasted almost FOUR weeks on my nails and it looked awesome. The second time I went and got the exact same thing again but from another girl and it's not good. After less than a week it started chipping and now, not even two weeks in, the polish has started actually peeling off on a few nails. read more

Clean, bright space, and great staff. It's a lot quieter here than a lot of other nail salons downtown. The service is always friendly and polite, and the owner offers you one of those warm shoulder pillow/pad things which makes the experience even better! I initially had my acrylic with shellac somewhere else and really did not like it. The shape (ballerina shape) was really bad, very thick too and the length was relatively short, so I worried that it is not possible to fix it. This place, Tina assisted me from the beginning to the end. She was sweet and accommodating, but she's not overly friendly which I appreciated. I did not mention anything about fixing the shape, but she gave me the prettiest ballerina shape - not too sharp not too square. I could not be happier than this :) Did not go crazy with acrylic either which I loved, she used multiple multiple files to buff and smooth the surface. Lots of details went to buffing the surface, shaping, and cuticles before she moved on to shellac. The colour I chose was pretty transparent but she gave me a clean opaque coat at the end (3 coats for the colour), and still my nails are not that thick. I went to this place because it was close to my work, but will definitely go back for next fill! Hope the service I received stays the same in the future visits. read more

Looks like the owners have changed! Upon the new management seeing my prior review, they immediately contacted me and offered for me to come in to experience the "new" spa. It was a pretty great experience. Customer Service: A++ For these folks. I'm not sure if this was all pre-medicated, or if it was because the owner was there, or whatever the reason might be; but they were absolutely pleasant. They were all very competent, had many options and selections to make sure I was relaxed, Service: This is definitely a place you wan't to go for relaxation and for primping! They make sure that you are absolutely relaxed and taken care of. The actual service was well done. My technician was very detail oriented, and efficient. On top of that, they were very personable! Cleanliness: This place is VERY clean. All of the equipment is sanitized and they open up those sterile bags in front of you. They are clean to the point that at the end of your service, they ask if you would like to keep your file, and buffer. This is a great place to go to especially for its price. Manicures & pedicures cost a lot more here in downtown Vancouver than where I am from ( Southern California)- so Getting my nails done in Vancouver is a treat for me! This place is clean, friendly ambiance , the staff seems happy to see their customers, and prices are fair ( compare to the rest of Vancouver .) I would allow myself extra time here ( my French pedicure took an hour and a half - with drying time). My toes were fanned, spray with drying spray, and even Seran wrap ( yes clear kitchen Seran wrap!) before I put my shoes on! A lot of careful attentiveness here . The staff here is meticulous and wants to make sure that you leave with perfect nails and they stay that way. 2 weeks later- after salsa dancing , daily yoga, The Grind Stairs- they still look pretty good- thank you Charisma Nails! They also offer water& tea( it's the little gestures) , a full massage chair , while your toes/ fingers and getting pampered. P.s. I'm vietnamese and never notice them talking *smack* / make inappropriate remarks in our language about people/ situations - you'll be surprise how many nail places do that ! Came here as I was due to change my shellac polish. I remember reading Ayaka's review and made a bookmark to eventually come here. Well, in September I got a job that's only 3 block away from Charisma and a couple days ago I finally was able to come here. Was able to book an appointment at the last minute which was awesome. After walking 3 blocks (in boots that had heels! D:) I reached this charming place. My nail tech Carla did a great job removing my old shellac and working on applying the new set. I ended up with a gorgeous dark burgundy color (perfect for fall!) and I couldn't be happier. I also loved that I got a heated shoulder pad while she worked on my nails. And the coffee! They had a couple of flavors to choose from and I picked raspberry truffle. My nail tech brought it out in a tray with a large cup and sugar and cream. This place has that boutique charm; small, quiet, comfy, and very lovely. Will come back when I need to re-do my nails in a couple weeks time and get a pedicure too! read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the accommodation of changing my manicure service to shellac service as there was a miscommunication upon booking. Before settling into the chair, I was offered a choice of beverage, which I chose tea and a chocolate peppermint patty. Both hands and feet were worked on at the same time by Helen and Azumi (forgive me if I have your name wrong). Silver, the receptionist was a attentive checking in time to time to see how we were doing. Happy to see they use disposable filers and buffers which you can take home after they use it on you. Helen really worked the bottoms of my feet as I run 4-5x a week training for long distance! She used only the "grater" and happy to see they don't use the "peeler." Great results and plan another visit the next time I am in the neighborhood. read more

Went with a friend for shellac mani and pedi. Pros: Lots of colors to choose from, friendly staff that provided tea and a clean job, liked the fact that they used sanitized products.
