Worst pedicure I have ever had. The girl didn't even soak my feet in water, just started clipping away to my dry feet. Never cleaned under the nails as most others do, then pretended she was trimming the skin around my nail. She wasn't even touching me. She buffed my feet with one stroke, big deal. Just awful and to add insult to injury the polish she put on was old, she never shook the bottle or tested it, it buckeld the moment I left the lounge.She never put a top coat on and lied and claimed she did. Language was a great problem. Every time I tried to talk to her she brushed me off. Not sure if she was being rude or didn't understand.Either way, she was very poorly trained. My toenails are a mess and when I was ready to leave there was no one around to talk to except the cashier. This was not the salon I used to go to when Anna and Danny ran it.Will never be back. read more

I came to fix two finger nails with shellac. They charged $5 each and at the end an extra $2 to remove shellac from one of the fingers. I found it very ridiculous. Rude ladies working there. Prices quoted for shellac manicure and pedicure were different from the price list on the wall. Will never go back. read more

Fantasy Nail Lounge is fantastic! I went to the salon super last minute and they were able to fit me in! The service was exceptional and the staff were very welcoming and nice! During my experience, I was provided nothing but kindness and I felt very safe during the visit as they had sufficient protocols and equipment (I.e. plastic screens between the clients etc). My service was provided by Skye and she is very talented and nice! Upon my departure I was provided with a little holiday gift of a nail polish and loyalty card! This was a super cute gesture and was the cherry on top of an already wonderful experience. My first time visiting this place. Went there during my lunch break because it's super close to work. My colleague and I made appointments at noon and were sat around 12:10 (it was during the holidays, so I can understand the business). My colleague was getting a pedicure at the same time, so they sat me in the massage chair next to hers, even though I was only getting my manicure- which was nice because we got to sit next to each other and I got to enjoy a little massage. Any nail salons you go to, I find I always run into a little language barrier, but the manager Leanne really made a difference. She walked around the whole time making sure that everyone was happy - I am giving it 4 stars solely on Leannes amazing customer service. I could somewhat tell that the lady who did my nails was getting annoyed with my hesitation on what color to choose (I had a specific one in mind with a photo!). When Leanne saw that I was struggling, she asked me to see the photo and right away she new what color number I wanted. Then when it came to the mirror/chrome nail, the lady chose the wrong powder (exhibit photo #1)- I was content-Ish, but again, Leanne noticed right away that it wasn't what I had requested. She was so kind to change it for me and not charge me for the chrome. Ive been trying to find a good nail tech/salon in general. I recently moved downtown and googled a lot for a nail place, I decided to try Fantasy based on the reviews and, shout out to Trinh but I absolutely LOVE my nails. She did everything I asked, I like short stiletto and my old nail tech never did them because she said "it's not possible". I so adore my nails, I can't wait to go back and try their pedicures next time around!!! UPDATE: So my nails lasted an ENTIRE MONTH! Literally looked still amazing, no chip no nothing. I just got them done today, I called at 2:15 and they literally squeezed me in at 2:30pm for an appointment. I had Helen this time, I could tell she was a little rushed BUT, the high expectations were there. Once again an incredible job. The owner is so involved and loves talking to her guests to make sure they are enjoying their experience. Honestly I'm going to keep coming back cause all the girls here seem absolutely amazing! I needed a mani/pedi in this area as it was near another hair appointment last week and I found this place via Yelp. I was very impressed. I booked an appointment the day before very efficiently on the phone and walked in the next day to find a packed nail salon (thank goodness I made the appointment)! Tomo was my nail technician. The treatment began with a foot soak in a foot spa attached to a comfy massage chair (which had many massage settings). While I was relaxing with the foot bath and the massage, I had a friendly chat with the nail technician and watched Food Network on the multiple TVs available all over the place. I got a nice foot/bottom leg massage before my pedicure and a nice hand/lower arm massage before my manicure. Switching to French for my hands was no problem. The nail drying fan was clicking a lot initially but one of the other technicians pointed it out and it was fixed. I was given the option to pay before my manicure so that I wouldn't bang up my hands fishing for my wallet at the end of the treatment as well. The mani/pedi special right now is $40 + $10 for French for my hands. I was able to pay by credit card (convenient). And the experience overall was great! Tomo Arigato! :) read more

Inconsistent quality. Those who are good are Very good, and those who are not will let you walk out of there with clear coat overhang on the underside of your nail so much so that when it peels off it breaks off the side of the nail build up as well read more

Been here a few times now. First couple of times were great but unfortunately today that was not the case. The other customers in the salon seemed happy but I encountered a few issues: - called and made an appointment for 3:30. Was there a few minutes early to pick colour but they were 20 minutes late. -when I called and made appointment I asked for price and was told $36.00. When I got to the till to pay they tried to charge me $56.00. -I was approached 3 different times asking me to get a manicure. High pressure and made me feel very uncomfortable. Danny is very professional and super fast and I'm always very happy with the results I get with my acrylic nails and gel polish. I came to Fantasy Nails for an acrylic fill/gel polish. The acrylic fill didn't fully cover the growth which resulted in breaking about a week later, as well as the gel polish was applied all over the map. Some was in my cuticles, and in quite a few spots the polish didn't completely cover the nail. I asked the woman 4 times to apply another coat of polish (as there were spots missing) and each time I received an eye roll. Customer service was definitely lacking. The price was right, although the service was pretty shotty. I would not recommend this spot for anyone looking for a clean and thorough polish job, or good customer service. :-( read more

Well this place certainly has its regulars. Walk in was no problem. I believe my manicure was $18+tax+tip and it was pretty pathetic. It had bubbles in it. Also there was a girl that came into the salon to lodge a complaint about her previous service (sounded pretty legit to me, but I was eavesdropping, so this does not contribute to my rating) and they turned her away and told her to come back another time. I first want to say that I have never written a review online, and I signed up for Yelp solely based on this experience. I have never felt more uncomfortable in a salon, especially with almost all the workers giving me nasty stares and making me feel like crying. I just had gel polish done on my finger nails by Danny. After he finished, I was pretty shocked by how awful my nails looked. Really messy and looked like a child could have done them. Because I hate complaining, I wasn't sure what to do. I asked the lady beside me if she could give me some advice and tell me if I was just being crazy. She said "wow, yeah, those are bad. Get them to re-do them. They are terribly done." So I told Danny and from there on, things went downhill. He told me my nails were the problem because they are thin. Seriously. He said he would clean them but it wasn't his fault. So, he takes the sander machine and starts filing down my cuticles with it. I'm thinking "this can't be good for my nails" but I keep quiet. He says "There. Done." (he had hardly done anything). I showed him what I meant, how there was nail polish all over my fingers and where it was really messy. Again he told me my nails were the problem. I was trying to be so nice and just stick up for myself because I don't do it enough. Long story longer, he got even more upset and started to sand all the polish off and sent me on my way. read more

Recently stopped in on a nice Saturday without an appointment. They were able to seat me for a pedicure and shellac manicure pretty quickly, which was somewhat of a surprise. This is a small shop with about 5-6 pedicure chairs and a few manicure stations. It has all your basic nail salon necessities, with a lot of color choices and a ton of shellac colors, which I was really excited about. After I chose fun coral for my digits, I sat down and started my pedi. The girl was nice and thorough, and did a pretty good job. I would have preferred a bit more of a massage, but hey - when is that not true? Manicure was pretty similar too. All together, a great job and at a price that really can't be beat in downtown. The pedicure was $25 and the shellac was $35. A steal for a good quality one! I'll def. be back. read more

1/30 day challenge After an exhausting long weekend of showing around a friend who was visiting from out of town (and had never been to Vancouver before), we decided on her last morning here that after all the walking we did over the past three days, our feet deserved some serious TLC. After some searching on Yelp and a couple of phone calls to see who could take us within the time frame that accommodated our schedule, we decided to try this place and were both very happy with the result. The ladies working on our feet did a great job and overall seemed quite thorough. My only small criticism is that they didn't really work on softening our heels with what I call the "cheese grater" until we asked. But they definitely paid close attention to our toes (and trust me, and someone who spends a LOT of time in running shoes, mine were a disaster!) and the end result was, well, highly presentable feet, especially compared to what I walked in with. The price is very reasonable so the atmosphere isn't super fancy compared to some other places you could go nearby, but I still felt sufficently pampered in the massage chair and came away with sandle-ready toes. read more

Tomo did my nails and let me say she pays so much attention to detail I was not only satisfied but impressed. Too many salons just want to get you out of the chair and the next person in. Every four weeks, my friend and I go to Fantasy Nail for a pedicure. There is always room for us to get in, and sit side-by-side in the massaging chairs. (Try the 'seat massage' setting - trust me.) Everyone who works at Fantasy Nail is amazing. They're so nice, and really good at what they do. Before Fantasy Nail, we were going to a place down on Pacific. That is until they spilled clear coat on my friend's pants, and cut his cuticle with their tools. It later became red and inflamed. Yuck. Before I discovered Fantasy Nails I bounced around to many salons none of which I was 100% happy with. Fantasy Nails has become my 'go to'. The staff are friendly, provide great, honest advice and nail care tips and the results are flawless and long lasting. I've had Shellac, regular manicures and pedicures and I've been delighted with the results each and every time. I usually make appointments but have also walked in and been taken care of immediately. My best friend and I have been going to Fantasy for over year. She would always get her acrylic nails and I would always get pedicures. The service is unmatched. My friend has never had a bad nail tech there and neither have I. I just transitioned from my personal nail tech for my hands to Rose from here and she is incredible. The retention is crazy good and my nails stay in the original shape as where my previous tech's shape was always rounding out. The entire staff is always very accommodating and booking an appointment is very easy. I also find amazing service from the ladies I book my appointments with on the phone. I went to this salon every two weeks for approximately 6 months, possibly longer. The employees were all very kind, warm and receptive. I would get gel polish on my hands and toes until I finally switched to gel on my toes and acrylics on my hands. I found that they consistently did good work on my hands but often were a little careless with my toes. It got to the point that when they removed the gel off my toes I would be in a great deal of pain. I didn't think much of it, at first. In retrospect, I wish I had payed more attention... I suppose it is easier to overlook the quality of the work done on your feet. One day, the pain was so bad I finally looked down and noticed that one of my big toes was a different colour, even with polish. The woman told me that it was just my nail and I sort of shrugged it off. The next time I finally looked at my toes and noticed that the nail was splitting in half and there was almost a hole through it as they had been so rough with the removal. Over time it caused a great deal of damage. My other toe was also thin and was completely black and blue underneath the nail. Which obviously accounts for the discolouration I had noticed in the polish. It is still black and blue to this day with a giant bulge where the blood would have accumulated beneath the nail and is now also splitting in half... I obviously haven't been to a salon since the incident. I will not be returning to this salon. read more
