I had a colour change on my feet done and it looks very sub-standard. The nail polish bottle was dry and the technician had a hard time applying it. I could not see very well the final result. When I came outside I saw how un-even and choppy it looks and went back suggesting they apply another coat to even it out. The owner just said it's because your nail is not smooth and that was the end of it. No suggestion to correct or even sorry. Said next time use a different colour (not metallic). They use to do a good job but now they just rush their work now since they are short staffed or the owner just doesn't want to have more employees so she can save money? My sister and I had a nail date and chose this place because of the reviews. The couches are nice but a bit worn and stained from nail polish. Otherwise, the nail salon is very clean, modern and relaxing. I wish there were massage chairs and coffee or tea served and it would have been perfect. However, the couch set up allowed for me to get a pedicure and my sister to get a shellac manicure at the same time while we were sitting next to each other. It was nice we were able to chat amongst ourselves. The staff are Korean and spoke in Korean to each other. Otherwise, they were mostly quiet and working on our nails during the service which was nice. We were seated right in front of the TV and could watch a movie at the same time. Nail instruments looked like they were sanitized and other supplies (ie nail files, toe separator) came out of new packaging. The place seems to be take care to not spread infection or reuse items communally. Also, there was a nail dryer to make sure my pedicure dried thoroughly which I liked. Called for a pedi quite last minute and they fit me in. Staff were really nice and the space is very clean. They dont use a bubble machine tub which is good since it means bacteria trapped in the jets dont get to your feet. Clean tools and brand new foam spacers for each customer. Overall this salon/lounge was great. But there is somethings they could fix to make the experience a 5. 1. They're a bit unprofessional, they used couches and sofas instead of proper salon chairs. It would make it just more like a salon if they used the proper salon chairs. 2. Hard to book. They are quite busy and I feel so that they should gather more employees that way you can get a booking quite soon. Overall this was a great experience here are some of the things I like. 1. I just came back from my 2nd visit from the Vivid Nail Lounge! I like the simple layout. It was clean and it wasn't so clustered like most places. I just got a shellac manicure, so I don't know the quality of their pedicure. They are really different from the other nail places in the area. I didn't get the name of the girl that did my nail, but I liked her great attention to detail. She was friendly talked to me as much as she could. I didn't mind since she was concentrating on getting my nail design to be perfect. I like how they offer to fix any chips or if the jewel comes off within 6 days. Most places, Ive encountered would just fix the chip and be done. These girls buffed my nails, re-applied a top coat and made them look all new again! First manicure ever - had an interview and a wedding to attend in the same week, so it seems like a good time to get one. Picked Vivid Nails after seeing their good Yelp reviews and photos of others gorgeous nails from here. Called and was able to get a same day appointment at 5:30pm, I didn't wait at all even though I arrived 5 minutes early. They didn't rush me in choosing my polish, and I showed them a picture from Pinterest and they said they could do the same, with a $10 surcharge for the glitter detailing work (which they told me upfront). Spent a great relaxing hour sitting in their gorgeous little salon while Jessie did my nails (and patiently kept reminding me to tap my hand to keep the uv light on). Bonus: they had a girly movie playing on the big screen tv so I just got to chill out and enjoy being girly (something I do very very rarely!). I am THRILLED with my nails - they are exactly the way I wanted them, and feel very well done. Jessie gave me some tips for not discolouring my light coloured nails, told me that it was no problem to come back in to fix any discolouration or chips, and gave me privacy while I paid (and gave her a big tip!). I went into Vivid Nails for a shellac Pedicure. My nail tech was very aggressively pushing my cuticles and cut my toe. The cut ran parallel to my nail and was the length of my nail. Saying this did not feel great is an understatement. I told her it hurt and when she saw it was bleeding, grabbed a spray of what I can only imagine was 70% or 99% alcohol and sprayed it. This also didn't feel great. She did not apologize or even say anything just waited for it to stop bleeding and proceeded to do the pedicure working around that nail completely. I emailed the salon the next day to let them know about my experience as it was still bleeding and received no response. I would never go back again and do NOT recommend at all. read more

Not at all what I expected. I had thought paying 65 dollars including tip would provide me with the pedicure experience I had expected. This place doesnt have massage chairs... expect to literally sit on half of a couch. They then bring you a bucket of warmish water from the back that they ask you to put your feet into. The lighting in the place sucks. It's extremely difficult to pick a color when you cant tell what it actually looks like. My gel pedicure ended up being 30 mins long. Including my pedicurist getting up and leaving to answer random questions from her coworkers and to answer the phone. The service was severely lacking. If I am paying over 50 dollars for a pedicure with gel I, at the very least, expect your attention. Needless to say I will never come back here. If they want to do Express pedi they should charge for Express pedi. And maybe invest in proper pedicure chairs for clients to sit in. read more

I love this nail lounge! Decided to try it out cuz it is super close to my apt and glad I did. It's a korean-run place, really cute and clean white decor, tons of parking out front and around the corner. They always seem so busy, with the girls answering the phone, greeting walk in guests, and trying to handle the customers. Sometimes it's amusing just watching them do it all and rotating through their job duties. I got suckered into doing their Mani-pedi combo since it's summertime. I get the gel Mani and regular polish cuz I'm rough on my hands :) I have to say, I really like that they have a large collection of both the gel and regular nail polish! They are also very hygienic, using new nail cutters and other implements and having the pedicure foot soak in a basin with a disposable plastic cover. The nail techs always do such a fabulous job and make my nails look so wonderful... The polish lasts forever (like 4 weeks last time... I only got it removed cuz my nails were growing out). Anyways, can you tell I'm a fan? :) The only thing I would change is that they need a better ventilation system. Sometimes the fumes get to be a bit much. read more

A friend recommended this place so I decided to give it a try given other positive reviews on yelp as well. I have given it 4 starts instead of 5 due to my view of a 5 being an exceptional experience by both service and surroundings. This salon looks nice and bright, but it's not set up in your typical nail salon way. The mani station is a kitchen bar-like table with dinning chairs and the pedi stations are couches. Even though there are no massage chairs it was comfortable to sit and there are pillows if you need back support where you sit. The service was pleasant and they have one big TV screen which today played the movie "the break up". Good enough to pass the time. I went there to take off my two week old gels and just put on regular nail polish. Prices are reasonable. I paid $24 for my regular mani + $10 to remove my gels + tip. When I got there the tools that were used on me were from a packaged baggy so cleanliness seems to be something they care about. The girl that did my mani didn't wear gloves or a mask which I though was strange because I would expect everyone to be more aware of the harmful fumes they breath in all day long and the nail dust that came from my gel nail filling. In any case, I will definitely come back to get my nails done there gain. Examples: - nail tech was confused how to remove the shellac manicure, had to consult with another employee and both did not make assuring faces - my nails were completely scratched up and dull - could still see specks of the shellac nail polish colour on my nails after I left the nail lounge - they put a coat of nail strengthener at the end of the removal process and occasionally would apply on our skin and miss the nail completely (would not even notice that they missed the nail until we asked them to reapply on the nail) Deep regrets for coming to this place out of convenience. I come here every two weeks for shellac manicures! My nails have only chipped once and they have a chip guarantee so I was able to go back and get the nail fixed no problem! They spend a good hour on my nails every time so I'm not surprised my nails have only chipped once! I used to frequent another salon down the street that was cheaper but my nails would constantly chip and I'd be in and out of there in half an hour! Went here because of the good reviews but the results and customer service were bad. My shellac pedicure ended up with uneven colouring (blotchy colouring) and had bumps in the nail polish. There was an incident at the salon that the police had to come in during the appointment, so the salon was understaffed and they never apologized for the commotion or checked up on us. read more

The girl who served me bring me a bucket of warm water and asked me to put my feet into it. She lifted my right foot right away. The best nail salon I have been to so far. I'm highly satisfied after receiving their mani+pedi shellac combo service. The technicians pay great attention to detail and are very very skillful. They spent a long time (much longer than other places would) preparing my nails before putting colours on, so that the gel colour wouldn't chip or peel off easily. It definitely makes the difference as my nails still look like brand new after a week (I use my hands a lot! Normally the gel would start peeling off after a week if I went to other nail salons.) They also give you a short session of massage on your legs and hands in the end. The atmosphere in this place is great. Big high ceilings, nice white decor (includes comfy white high back chairs), and a giant ass TV screen that was playing a romantic comedy. At one point, I saw the lady open a cupboard to tons of DVDs. So you know that next time you come there will be another movie on. I feel this is super nice - considering other places I go are playing horrible day time TV or something in another language. I had a great time watching Maid in Manhattan and getting my nails done. Customer service was a little lacking in that I wasn't really greeted, or really talked to (which was fine, I just watched the movie), or informed about what was going on (left under the dryer not knowing how long I should be there or if someone was coming back for me. So happy to find a great nail salon in my neighborhood. It's not as busy as the other nail salons in the metrotown area or Richmond, so I was able to get a next-day appointment at the time I want. Upon arrival, my nail technician Anna was already waiting for me so we were able to start right away, even though I arrived 10 minutes early. I was there for a Shellac manicure and Anna was very gentle and paid very close attention to every detail during the whole hour. And as expected, the nails are done perfectly.
