I walked past the salon today and thought it looked nice and clean, so I booked an appointment for the same day. While waiting, I decided to google it and saw some bad reviews that made me anxious about it. But fortunately, I had a great experience. I don't know the name of the woman who did my nails, but she was clearly a perfectionist, paying attention to every tiny detail and retouching every flaw without me even telling her anything. Besides, she was such a nice presence and I enjoyed talking to her. I've been there only once and I won't go again because I'm from Europe and traveling, so take that into account. Upon recommendation, I regularly started seeing Amy, the owner, several years ago. I was very happy with the overall service at first, but with time Amy's attitude became very problematic for me and I am now no longer willing to tolerate it. The first red flag was a few years ago when Amy became very obviously annoyed upon me telling her that the nail polish had not dried properly and it started to smudge while I was getting out my wallet to pay. She sternly and impatiently told me that I should've pushed my hands deeper into the UV lamp. I was taken aback but decided to let this slip. Additionally, wanting short nails is apparently an issue for Amy. No matter how many times I tell her that I want my nails short, she seems to be adamant about leaving them longer. My other friends have experienced the same issue with her. The last time I told her that I want my nails shorter than she had filed originally, she paused without a word and continued. The last straw was when my nails started to chip and I went back to have them fixed. The hysteria in her voice was very obvious as she "explained" the treatment she did the time before. In short, Amy lacks soft skills, has an attitude problem and takes things personally as opposed to communicating calmly, yet she is the owner and should be leading by example. I hope her extraordinary nail technician skills outweigh her very bad temper and prevent the business from being on the road to failure. Some clients may place more value on the former and while I respect that, I personally refuse to let the owner unleash her inner bully at me every time the smallest situation arises. read more

I got acrylics done here because I was in the area and didn't know what to expect. Firstly, there is street parking all around which was nice! When i went in they I was pleasantly surprised at how many stations were available. On the left they had 2 rows for manicures, and on the right they had several massage chairs for pedicures, with plenty of staff. The store seems relatively new, and clean. Some workers talked to their customer, while others didn't, regardless i felt comfortable. The work itself was done just how I requested and during my session she checked-in to see if I liked the shape of my acrylics and adjusted to my liking. Probably not the best place to remove your acrylics or gel nails in general ! I came in wanting to remove my 2.5 months old acrylic nails from another place . That place was busy so I decided to go to virgo bc why not , it's close to home and it's just a removal & this place always look busy whenever I pass by . my nails were lifting and I had ONE broken nail . The first nail technician who helped me wasn't confident doing my nails so passed me to a senior . But before she did , she clipped my nails . My nails were long btw . It was pain less . However .. when the second techinican came . She was trying to figure out what to do with my broken nail . She started clipping without even checking BENEATH MY NAIL . but nothing happened yet . She started using the electronic drill thing to file my all my nails , leaving the last nail last . when she got to my broken nail , she attempted to file it. IT STARTED TO SPRUNG MY BROKEN NAIL W THE ARTIFICIAL NAIL ( it was hanging thats why ) & started bleeeeeeeeding . At that point I was sweating and like omh .. BLOOOD. I hope I didn't encounter anything . they didn't clean the tools after using it on me :s THATS NOT THE WORSE PART OF ALL . She started clipping the rest of my nails ... DIDNT EVEN CHECK THE SKIN ETC AND HOW SHORT MY NAILSWERE ALRDY CUZ OF THE FIRST TECHINICAL . I naturally have long nail beds ok but anyways , my second finger next to my thumb bled . My middle finger bled as well because same thing . The techinican sitting next mine at one point took over , and using the sliding nail removing technique . Could be used with another fake nail but had this thin metal plate to slide under the artificial nail to remove . And let me tell u , with out hesitation she took over . Grabbed the nail clipper started clipping even more and use the thing to rip ... AND GUESS WHICH FINGER? The middle finger that I came in w the broken nail . I had asked to leave it alone and just focus the other 9 nails after the electronic filing inicident . ANYWAYS IT BLED MORE . And btw I'm vietnamese so I understood everything , and I know how nail shops are run too . Clearly , she's not trained enough . I'm too lazy to go into details but I came in w one broken nail and I left with 3 bleeding nails , and 7 extremely thin nails & they hurt . I hope they clean their tools and all cuz now I'm worried because I bled . And they used used filers on me and I'm very ocd esp when it's health related. read more

I came here to get my lashes done a few weeks ago and they still look brand new! I got the royal set (hybrid) for $65 and it is so beautiful!! This set is the longest I've ever had because no other lash girl said that it was feasible. I'm very happy that she got them for me 6D or more lol. I'm super happy with the price and the results. I really like that they have online booking. I had an appointment with Emma, she was really sweet and worked really hard on my nails. I asked for a marble design, which can be kind of tricky, & I'm kind of picky, but she did a great job in the end! My first few appointments were amazing. The girls were nice and my nails were great. I will just say I will not be going back. It's like they no longer care or want me as a client and the showmanship on my nails really shows exactly that. I chipped a nail the day after I got them done. I went back to get them fixed up. The nail tech (Amy) just seemed annoyed, pretty sure was talking about me in a different language, and pointed blame towards me. My nails now look like shit and half of them are chipped or broken, doing barley anything, after a week and a half. I get my nails done to pamper myself. I don't need to go into a place and feel like I'm not welcome, which Is how they made me feel. I would rather pay more to get my nails done and have better customer service, good quality work, and feel welcomed. With so many nail salons in Vancouver, you think they would try a bit harder to keep clients. read more

Awful service and will never go there again. Went there with my 10 year old daughter and Amy was so rude to her. Slapped her hand and yelled at her when she asked her to fix a part of her nail that wasn't painted properly. When I confronted her she didn't even apologize to my daughter. I really hate giving bad reviews but I think this one deserves it! I had my mani appointment with them last Friday because it's near on my house and I always passed by in here,Since I was in need to get a mani. I just chose white color since there's not a lot to choose from their"swatch book". Anyways, after 3 days, I saw my nail has crack. It's not even chipped, but it's cracked. So I called and ask if I could come and they just quickly said okay! The girl who "fix" my nails did very bad job on "fixing" it. But I just told myself that it's okay and I don't wanna make a scene, also I'm not even coming back here. Then another couple days passed and the nails that she "fix" totally got broken. I'm so pissed because I'm leaving for vacation in two days. Well lesson learned and just a reminder, that always stick to your nail salon/nail tech. It'll save you time. Never will I ever suggest this salon to everyone. read more

My wife was there yesterday and she had one of the worst experiences ever. She asked for black nail polish and the attendant did not read the nail polish bottle and ended up using purple as the colour. She didn't notice until she was in natural light and very disappointed. My friend and I went to Virgo nails for the first time last Friday july 15 to get a pedicure and shellac nails. We arrived at 2pm(on time) no one was available to help until 2:40. We soaked our feet in cold water for 40 mins until someone arrived to help us. They couldn't do both services at once as we requested, so that really dragged out or appointment. My friend had a hair appointment at 3:15 down the street that she missed. I also didn't receive any massage on both feet and hands. It's been 6 days now since the shellac was done and it's already peeling off!! Super disappointed! Do not recommend this place ! read more

If I could give it a lower star I would. My cousin and I went in to get our nails done. The lady that was doing my nails was making faces everytime I would ask for something. The nail polish had bubbles in it so I asked her to fix it. The bubbles kept appearing about 4 times and I had to keep requesting her to fix it. I leave the salon paying $68 taxes in, which to me is fine if the job is done properly. But when I get home I noticed that the shapes of my nails aren't even the same! On top of that my cousin sends me a post on the salons Instagram that said since it's Virgo month they were offering 10% off that day. Which neither my cousin or I received.At that moment I decided I will not be going back. A week later now, my nail polish has changed colours. My yellow nail polish is now black. I switched over to Virgo Nail Spa in September and haven't looked back. Although I haven't had many pedicures there yet, I'm blown away but Amy's acrylic work. The people here are friendly which is the only reason I think I would ever give even the 1 star. I feel almost bad writing this review, but I feel obligated because I wish I could have been warned before coming here. I saw the good reviews so I called ahead and asked for how much it would be for a shellac color change with removal. They said 25 which is average so I decided to go. First of all. Its SO dirty. The bathroom literally had 2cm worth of filth/dust/grime on everything, including the flush handle/soap dispenser. So thick you could barely see yourself in the mirror. The entire establishment smelled like something rotting or a stale boiled egg smell. My nail artist was a young man who was clearly sick. He was coughing and moving phleghm around behind his mask which made me super uncomfortable. We weren't off to a good start. I could barely communicate with him - I asked for oval nails but he kept making them square... etc. While he was doing my nails he kept using the edge of his own nail (on literally EVERY nail) to wipe off any excess off my skin. All nail artists do this but 1) his nails were EXTREMELY sharp and 2) he did it constantly, like after polishing every nail. This just shows how inaccurate he was with the polish brush. After a while I started to indicate through my body language that this was painful but he just kept telling me not to move. "It hurts though" I said, but he paid no mind. In the end he put 3 coats of polish on my hand and 2 on my right. By the time I noticed he had already put on a top coat so it was too late. So now I have mismatching hands. And the work is shoddy - the polish is missing on the edges, my nails feel rough, I asked for him to put alcohol on after so the gel polish would be sticky but he said "doesnt need it" so now my nails are sticky.!!! AND on top of that.. they asked for $30 in the end. Will never go back. Unfortunate experience! read more

I booked 3 appointments for today, 1 mani-pedi and 2 additional manicures. We arrived and 3 different ladies greeted us but nobody took the initiative to ask what services we'd booked. We sat and waited until my aunt asked a woman for her pedi. My mum had also requested a pedi when we arrived but nobody helped her although we re asked. A walk-in came and was seated for a pedi. At this point my mum decided shed go elsewhere, my aunt also said she'd forgo her mani. The lady doing her pedi got up and walked away. Another said they wouldn't apply the nailpolish and it was complimentary. I saw an empty seat and a nail tech on her phone so I walked over and asked if my gel polish would be started. I was told they couldn't do nail art on gel and I had to do acrylic at $70, I was quoted $47 for gel. I told them no I only had time and budget for gel. Suddenly a nail art book came out. She was only able to do gel on 1 hand as my other hand is damaged. She told my mom to put regular nail polish on my left hand. I had chrome applied over the gel and my fingers have an iridescent shine. My mom got her mani. When paying we were only charged $35 for my service. It was very unprofessional and unpleasant.
