Was in the South Granville neighbourhood tonight and accidentally passed by Allure. I didn't even know there was a nail and spa shop here and I passed by this block many times. I desperately needed a shellac pedicure and decided to take open the door and take a chance to see if they would take me as a walk-in. Luckily, Allure was able to take me immediately. May was the lady who took her time and provided the best foot/leg massage with my pedicure. May started with the usually foot soak, nail trim, salt scrub, treat calluses, massage (with hot stones and hot towels!) and moisturize. May spent a good 20 minutes with a good heavenly massage. Another lady stepped in to finish with the colour and polish protector. I appreciate the ladies taking the time for each customer and I never feel rushed to get out of the chair. I could certainly be back again. I think they did a fantastic job. My shellac pedicure was $48 plus another $5 to take off the old one, so competitive with other nail spas. The shop was clean and I noticed on the wall a posted indicating certain stalls for parking. But I also fine easy parking 1 to 2 block west and east of 7 and 8th Avenue. read more

Been coming here for 2 years straight and i'm like shocked that someone would talk like that to another person like that. A fantastic first experience at Allure. I didn't have an appointment, but I saw they took walkins so I figured I'd pop my head in before the gym to see if they had time to take me in for a Shellac mani. They accommodated quickly and within five minutes I was seated and getting my nails did! The ladies were super sweet and fun to chat with. Time and care was put into me service from start to finish. The best part was the arm massage at the end, seriously could have had that for another hour. A lovely touch too was the hot towels they wrap your arms in after the treatment. I came out of Allure feeling satisfied with the shellac mani and the overall price for the area, $32. I will go back here and live really close so it looks like it's my new regular nail joint from now on! read more

They were really nice and the experience was good, but 2 of my shellac nails had already chipped, with a third chipping a bit, the day after I got them done. I had had acrylics about a month ago, but I had gotten shellac from another salon before I tried Allure and it lasted me over 2 weeks until this appointment. Maybe it was a one off because the reviews for the place are great, but this is a very disappointing experience. Update: went to get them fixed, she fixed the nails that had already chipped. Absolutely lovely staff and fantastic pedicures! I've been going here since they opened in 2015. The massage chairs have foot basins that protected by a fresh sanitary plastic wrap for each customer and they sterilize their tools with a special machine between uses. These two points are important to me. Above and beyond all that you'd expect of a typical pedicure these pedi's include: an exfoliating scrub, an AMAZING massage and hot stone finishing massage. They also have a massive selection of nail polish & shellac colours to select from. My friend and I go for monthy pedi's and in the last few years I started doing Shellac nails too. I always go to Sophia and my friend to Sally and would highly recommend them!! On occasion, I've gone to several of the other staff and they are all fantastic too! Also, my friend has had Kathy (the owner) do her eyebrows several times while we were there and she was very pleased with the threading. I did my Shellac Shellac started chipping 3 days post and today is day 8 almost all my nails are damaged. Not sure whether all their personnel all are disqualified or just a few. I come to Allure Nails once a month (sometimes every 3 weeks) for hard gel manicures (also known as gel builder). The ladies at Allure are friendly and great at what they do. I usually get my nails done by Sophia or Vivian. Their prices are fair and the gel always lasts till my next appointment (unlike other nail salons I've tried in the past, where it chips within a week). They don't do any fancy nail art (ie. marble nails, striping tape, etc.) but if you're just looking for a basic manicure, I recommend coming to Allure! TLDR; Hard gel manicure lasts for 1 month+, prices are fair, but no fancy nail art. Good value for money. read more

Came in via walk-in (store front says "walk-ins welcome"). Instead of telling me to come back later, like they told other customers and should have told me, the manager looked frustrated and told me we wouldn't have time to do the nail design I requested. Other customers were offered water or tea/coffee where I wasn't. I was left with the nail driers for a longer time than required while they attended to other customers (I could tell because a customer who had the same service that I did came after and left before me). Two stars for the price and decent work, otherwise would be one. Will never come here again. read more

This was my first time going to Allure and the staff were very friendly. They were also very busy! I came in just after 10am wanting to get a mani/pedi and they had already had customers (they opened right at 10am) and the phone was ringing non-stop with people wanting to make appointments. I'm a working mother so my time is very valuable especially if I have to pick up my daughter a certain time. I called to book a 5:30pm appt but that day they only had a 6pm appt so I booked a 5:30pm the next day. I got there at 5:20pm and they said that they will start at 5:40pm. They did not start till 6:10pm. I was very upset because I did not get out of there till 6:45pm. 1 week ago I called in to explain that my nails were fully chipped after only 4 days of me getting them done. I had to leave for Toronto the very next day for 1 week. One of the ladies explained that it was no problem that the four nails that were chipped she was able to redo when I get back. I get there today and she says that "no problem have a seat." She asks what colour I want and i tell her the same one that I have on.. she explains to me that the colour that I have on is not going to match the same colour .. which makes NO sense because they are THE SAME COLOUR. I take a seat only to have her tell me we can't do the four nails only 3. ( she agreed to doing four before I sat down) and then she lied to me AGAIN telling me that her colleague said I was the one that said I only had three. Which is a complete lie. While I am explaining to her why she rolls her eyes and starts speaking and laughing to her other colleagues about the situation and starts saying "wow". She kept explaining to me that i came a week to late. I explained to her that I was in Toronto which I told her other colleague for a business trip. She kept explaining that and I told her that it's not about the nails at this point. It's the fact that you did not apologize at any point of this conversation but only rolled your eyes and gave me nothing but disrespected for a customer that is paying for a service. Please learn how to not only run a business but to be respectful to people that are paying for a service. read more

I called at 4:30 asking if they could fit my friend and I for gel nails and gel nails + extensions at 5:30 or 6:00 pm. They said that they were fully booked and that they could only book us for 6:15 pm. After an hour, they called me at 5:30 pm explaining that a customer had canceled their appointment and asked if we could come in right now. Sure, we can come right then and there if we could teleport... As soon as my friend and I arrived, they stared and did not greet us. When we needed to use the washroom they did not tell us where it was. A lady with light brown hair and a black bruise on her finger asked if we called for manicures and pedicures, my friend replied saying no, shellac. A few minutes later, a different lady begins working on my friend's nails while I wait for another lady to do mine. The same lady who asked if we wanted manicures and pedicures approaches me, I tell her I want gel with extensions. She starts giving me attitude saying why I didn't tell her sooner. I told her I called saying I wanted gel nails with extensions. I noticed that she was rushing because they were closing soon. When I put my hand in the LED lamp she got angry because I put it in wrong and said, "I told you to put it in like this." I don't get my nails done often so I am not familiar with the finger placements in the lamps. However, I did not deserve to be given attitude. I can understand why they were rushing, but I was at no fault here. They should be more organized and note down what customers want and estimate the time it'll take before agreeing to any appointments. Terrible service. If you guys are going to come here, I recommend not going to the lady with light brown hair and a black bruise on her finger. I will not be coming back. I rather pay more somewhere else and get better service than to come here. read more
