I discovered Diva Brow Bar 5 years ago when I moved to Burnaby. I use this spa for everything including nails (shellac), pedicures, eyebrows (tinting as well), lash lift, and waxing. This is the place to be! I wouldn't think of going anywhere else. Diva isn't just a place for pampering in a beautiful and relaxing place, but you truly feel like family when you walk in the doors. I am always greeted with a smile and the owner Maria is absolutely fantastic! She doesn't mind getting in there and helping her team if it's too busy. The spa is always so clean and offers a variety of services, including kids' manicures and pedicures, which my daughter loves getting done here as well. I spotted this place as I was driving on Lougheed one day and checked it out since they're open on Saturdays. I've gotten both waxing done and eyebrow threading as well. For the waxing, I always call in advance and they're usually able to fit me in with decently short notice. All of the estheticians helping me have been really nice and done their job well - no stray hairs left behind and relatively quick so all is good on this front. As for the eyebrow threading, I've found that it's very hit/miss. You can't make reservations in advance but the wait is usually pretty short because you're in and out of the chair in 5 minutes. It's also only $5 which is awesome! As for their work, I've been there times where I've been really happy with the job and other times that I haven't been. I found that it really depends on who is doing it because they seem to do whatever they desire unless you specify how you want it done. Similar to how it's mentioned in other reviews, all they do at the end is put lotion on your brows so you might have a couple of stray hairs stuck to your face. Overall, this place is good for the price! I really enjoy getting waxes done here but the eyebrows are hit/miss. read more

Just got my eyebrows threaded here, the receptionist said that it's about 10-15 minute wait but because threading doesn't take that long, it was more of a 5 minute wait. So I was called and the laid that was operating on me was very polite. And my eyebrows were perfect within 2 minutes. OHH! And it should also be noted that they will be relocating. Good prices but....you get what you pay for. Went in for leg wax. Immediately disgusted by the fact that they double dip. After using the wooden spatula to spread wax on a portion of my legs, the same wooden spatula was dipped back into the can of wax. This was repeated until the end of my session. I would not come back for waxing because of the double dipping. Very unhygienic and disgusting. Imagine the bacteria inside the can of wax! Very disappointing. read more

Fast, efficient and no appointment needed. I needed my uni-brow maintained, and this place has great ladies who do eyebrow threading. For $5 plus tax cant argue with that. If its not busy, and you're lucky at the end of you treading you'll get a little forehead massage with aloe. Not all of the ladies do it, and it you come while people are waiting your out of luck! They also have other spa treatments which I have yet to try. I don't go see a particular person for my eyebrows I feel they all do a pretty good job. read more

Always a pleasure there. Have only been slightly disappointed a couple times over the years...and by that I mean a few straggling hairs after a threading. I've gotten the threading, brow & lash tints in the past. All great service and super fast. As for the nails...not so much. Opted for a shellac pedicure and manicure combo...it was so-so. They don't have massage chairs and the bench seating for the pedicure isn't the most comfortable. My manicure had a chip before the end of the day. I almost don't want to write a great review for this place because I'm worried it will become too busy and I'll have trouble getting an appointment in future. Ha ha. Not really. Ok maybe I'm only half-joking. In all seriousness, this place has really great prices and the services are done well. I have had a couple of disappointing experiences here, but overall they're quite good. I've only tried their nail services (manicure & pedicure) and waxing services so I can't comment on the brow threading. I usually get shellac polish now as there is no waiting time before you can put your shoes on and minimal chance of ruining your manicure. Compared with a lot of other places in the area, Diva has very good prices and the staff are (mostly) all really good. Don't be afraid to speak up if you don't like the way your nails are being filed. Sometimes they get caught up in the moment and next thing you know, your nails might be a different shape than what you requested. read more

I can only comment on the threading at this place. So my regular eyebrow lady moved to a different salon in Burnaby and I needed another place to handle my caterpillars, and decided to try out Dive Brow Bar. The interior is very bright and clean and a lady was able to take me in right away. No reservations for eyebrow threading. They're quick, efficient and not once have I had a scratch. My skin is a little sensitive, so it was red afterwards, but they offer aloe lotion which helped. After a couple of hours, the redness went away. Def my new threading spot! read more

5 stars for the threading service! Ranjita is experienced and efficient! 1 star for facial. After threading my upper lip, I had a $$40 mini facial to remove the blackheads on my nose. Another lady helped me. She didn't ask my skin type but kept scrubbing my upper lip area really hard. I kept telling her that I just had threading, so do not touch it. The head massage part is too gentle. It really hurts when she applied the tool on my nose. I thought at least I will have a clean nose afterwards. Holy grail! After the facial is done, I notice none of my blackheads were removed and my pores were red and bigger than before. There is even uncleared white mask residuals left under my nose. It's funny that she said I have to come more often to remove the blackheads. People DIY at home to remove blackheads on the nose. It's not like plastic surgery that you need to visit more than once. I have to apply cooling mask at home to calm down the pores. Great threading service, poor facial experience. read more

I had a good experience at Diva Brow Bar! Had a shellac mani & shellac pedi and threading for eyebrows & upper lip. The salon is very clean and white, and the esthetician was very friendly. The young lady who did my threading wasn't as warm and friendly, but she did a decent job. Although, she didn't clean off the threaded hair from my face after she was done. All she did was put lotion on me and sent me in my way..... with little bits of hair stuck all over my lotioned face. :( I noticed that they do not open a new package of esthetician tools for their Mani and Pedi like other places I've been too do, ie. Cuticle tools, toe separator, & nail file. They reuse their tools and I'm hoping these tools are nicely cleaned between each use. Prices are great! I'll definitely go back again. read more

My first time here- and this was post COVID-19 lock down. The staff is professional and the spa is spotless and modern. My nail technician was Nancy, where I had a spa pedi and biosculpt mani. I have been going to this brow bar for years and unfortunately the quality and care has dropped drastically. Last week before my trip to Vegas they gave me a brow artist who was clearly new. I figured I would let her try my brows because I told her before I started that I wanted to keep them thick and just a clean up as I usually do. She proceeded to butcher my left brow and leave a chunk missing and left them quite thin. Even worse was how management responded. They brought in their lead brow artist and she made excuses for the artist and told me that I could fill in my brow with make up instead of taking responsibility. I obvs can fill my eyebrow in but nobody wants to do that. She then told me I should have told the artist I wanted my eyebrows thick. Which I told her I did. They she said oh and then her and the front desk lady just stared at me. I went to the counter to pay because they didn't say anything to me. They ended up giving me my eyebrows free but with no apology and no sort of fix or offer from their business. Horrible service and bad eyebrows. Avoid going to this business!! read more

Got an underarm wax, as well as eyebrow threading. The wax was okay, but they used baby powder to finish, instead of lotion. The eyebrow thread was good but she missed a few hairs. This place is okay for the location and price, but I'd rather drive out to Main or Fraser Street. read more

EDITED: Changed star rating from 2 stars to 1--after the swelling died down, I've noticed that I'm actually missing a bunch of skin! Literally raw. No wonder I couldn't walk. Holy crap. AVOID at all costs. I almost wish I wasn't going to Vegas in the morning so I could go and demand my money back. ------------------- I came in today to get an upper leg, eyebrow, brazilian, and back wax. I'd booked it in person yesterday, and I noticed that the man hadn't actually written down what I was coming in for next to my name yesterday. When I came in, I was able to go into the room almost immediately even though I was about 10 minutes early and there were two other ladies there for the time slot I'd booked (bonus, for me!). However, the woman waxing me thought that I'd *only* booked the upper leg wax and was rather surprised when I listed off the number of waxes I needed (much to my concern, because I'm off to Vegas tomorrow). She left, came back, and I guess everything seemed to be fine because she told me to lay down. At the place I normally go for waxes, they give you something to cover up depending on what you're waxing so you're not fully exposed. Nope, not at this place. Don't expect them to make you feel comfortable at all, either. She immediately told me to "take off my panties" (which I was rather surprised about, because normally they ask what I'd prefer to wax first and I tend to leave brazilian for last for a multitude of reasons). But I was like whatever. I didn't want to press my luck since I'd managed to squeeze in all of these wax sessions into one upper leg slot. The main reason for these 2 stars is that she let me text on my phone and read while getting the wax done. The other place I go to tends to tell me to stop and they're chattier, which is fine, but sometimes I'm not in a chatty mood and I'd rather not be "forced" to chat. So off she goes with the brazilian. The actual procedure wasn't as painful, which I was rather surprised by because she was doing an extremely sloppy job and didn't wax against the hairline but was just going from left to right, if that makes sense. (TRIGGER WARNING AHEAD!) This resulted in really short stubbly hair in certain areas because she didn't wax it properly. She also missed a patch on the bikini line. AND (EVEN BIGGER TRIGGER WARNING) there's swelling like no tomorrow--which has never, EVER happened. Not even with my first brazilian. Imagine having to waddle all day. Yes, that's me today. I can't comment on my back, because I can't see it. My upper legs are the same deal with the brazilian. She waxed in every which way and there are random stubbly hairs left (in addition to a buttload of wax residue--some parts of my leg are just entirely green with wax). Eyebrows were hastily done because someone knocked on the door and she said "two minutes". Didn't ask me how I wanted them shaped and basically just "cleaned" them and didn't shape them at all. Didn't ask me if I was happy with it or anything like that. Just said that she was done and basically shooed me out of there. Not impressed and NEVER going back here. Not really sure what all the good reviews are all about--I guess I made a mistake with not getting Ranjeeta (though maybe I did--I wouldn't know, she never said a word other than to tell me to flip over or hold something). read more

The girl who usually does all the eyebrow threading (Ranjita?) is phenomenal. She's always very polite and friendly. She always chats with her regulars and knows what's going on with them. I always love my eyebrows after she's through with them. I got another girl at this salon to thread my eyebrows once and it was not the same... At all. Pedicures are good too. Nice selection of polish and helpful technicians to recommend colours for my skin tone. They did try to upsell a couple times though (mask for my feet, exfoliating brush...) and I didn't really like that. The massage chairs while you're getting your feet scrubbed is a nice touch! I worry about those foot sinks though because I've heard that they can't be disassembled to be washed inside so bacteria may linger... That aside, the prices are the best that I've come across without being suckered into a "membership." And the owner(? Guy always at the front) once said that the prices will never go up. So hopefully this is the case. It's a smaller salon so it's nothing fancy but it gets the job done and it's always easy to book an appointment! read more

Unhappy with threading. Although this place is quick, they don't ask you for what you want. I told my threader to just clean it and she thins off half of my eyebrow. There is no communication and thus my thickness wasn't kept. They look thin and uneven. Afterwards, they let me go with hair on my face. read more

I stumbled upon Diva while researching for mani-pedi places in Burnaby. If you go to their website, it portrays a very relaxing, calm ambience. When you go to the actual site, be warned, it isn't. However, if you are looking for a good, solid mani-pedi at an affordable price without the extra frills, then this is the place for you. I arrived on a Thursday afternoon, and the place was already packed. Word of advice: book an appointment if you plan on getting any service done here. They are not understaffed, but this place is so freakin' popular during the summertime, expect a wait (20-30mins) if you are a walk-in. Manis are $15, Pedis $25, and combined is $35 for a "spa manicure and pedicure"", which means a full manicure and pedicure with salt scrubs and massage chairs. Shellac is slightly higher (I forgot how much). The environment of the site itself is clean, though a bit cluttered. read more

Eh I still feel kind of on the fence about this place, the newer location is obviously a lot nicer than the old one. I came in today to get my eyebrows threaded because for a clean-up it's only 5 dollars. I feel like my eyes are super sensitive so whenever I get my brows threaded they hurt, which I expected and of course when it was happening at the moment it hurt. It wasn't busy when I went, the lady I got was just okay but not the best. The weird part of my threading session was after my session was done, as soon as I opened both my eyes she gave me a mirror to see if I liked the shape of my eyebrows and if I had approved of how much hair was taken off, the hairs were taken off alright but she left them all on my face, and didn't even dust them off or anything so I think she was just going to let me out of there with the eyebrow hairs she pulled out all over my face, she didn't even wipe them off, she gave me lotion after though. I just found it a bit bizarre, needless to say I just asked her to give me tissue so I could get rid of the hairs she pulled out of my brows that landed on my face myself. I still gave her a 15% tip but I guess that's what you get for only paying $5?? I don't know I had better service before with Ranjeeta and Nav but who knows what was going on there? I just needed my eyebrows threaded right away so I guess it depends on who you get. This was my only qualm about this. read more

I had asked for my brows to be cleaned up and made sure to say that I wanted them to be left thick. The technician confirmed that all I wanted was a clean up, to which I said yes. When I saw my eyebrows after the threading was done, they were considerably thinner than their initial size and one is visibly thicker than the other. I am highly unimpressed. read more

I also got my eyebrows tinted she did an amazing job shaping and finding the right color for me, I'll definitely be coming back! Got my brows threaded here a couple of weeks ago for the first time after having heard my friends rave about them for months and they did not disappoint! The lady (sorry I don't remember her name) was very careful to ask me what shape I wanted exactly how thick I wanted, how arched, and delivered! Even though I had a couple of little hairs left that I wished I had asked her to pick out before I left, I was very satisfied for the price I paid. Will come again! read more

i used to come here for eyebrows all the time and it was fine (would need to repeat that i want a light cleaning, otherwise my brows would be way too thin). i came for a full face threading and there are splotches of hair still on my face, loose hairs near my brows, and even though i said half neck-- the lady continues a full neck and went close to my chest almost! ive been getting my neck threaded for years, but a day after my threading at diva, my neck has broken out. whether the method damaged my skin or they were unsanitary, im not sure :/ but i cant leave the house without layers of concealer on my neck because of how gross it looks. will not be coming back. not sure how long my neck will look like this ): read more

I go see Ranjeeta for threading my brows, her and her only. Been seeing her for the last 4 years, back when she was at Creative down the street by Red Robins. Brows are always amazing after she does it. And like the previous reviewer, BY, said, I too had the other east indian lady thread my brows once or twice, definitely not comparable. I go there at LEAST once every 2 weeks to get my brows done ($5), you can also pre pay for future brow threadings and they give you little cards (can't lose them, they're like cash, and also expires in 3 months). WHY WOULD ANYONE GO TO PLACES LIKE BOMBAY BROW BAR OR SPA UTOPIA to pay $25 for brows is BEYOND ME. Ranjeeta is AMAZING. I got nails done here too, just gel polish, by the other east indian lady who also does eyebrows (not Ranjeeta), she's a bit slow at it, but not bad either. For years I used to frequent a salon on Fraser Street in Vancouver for eyebrow threading, but now that I've moved to the Tri-cities, driving out to that part of Vancouver is a bit of a hassle. I was thrilled to learn about Diva Brow after searching for a reputable place closer to home that provided eyebrow threading services at reasonable rates. Eyebrow threading here is $5, which is difficult to come by outside of the Fraser Street and Surrey area. While I believe eyebrows are an important feature of a girl's face, I just can't justify spending $25+ at those fancy brow salons, especially when eyebrows require regular maintenance to maintain their look and shape. While I do enjoy the occasional indulgence and pampering, I don't need a rose water massage and cup of tea everytime I go to get my eyebrows threaded, thank you! I read about Ranjeeta through the Yelp reviews and called ahead on a Thursday to see if she had any openings. Typically with my old Fraser Street joint I was fine doing walk-ins, but Ranjeeta sounded pretty popular. Indeed, the guy who answered the phone said she was booked on Friday and Saturday and wouldn't be available til Monday! I held off until next week and called again the following Wednesday and was able to get in on Thursday after work. I ended up running a few minutes late for my appointment but it was no problem. The salon isn't fancy at all in terms of ambiance, but I was just there for my eyebrows and I just wanted to get in and out. Ranjeeta was great. She took her time threading my brows and also trimmed them with baby scissors. I've been to places where the techs sometimes rush through their job, and I've ended up with cut skin on more than one occasion. All in all she was very pleasant to deal with and I was satisfied with the end look. The threading ended up costing $5.25 after tax, but for the price and service I was happy. I probably wouldn't come here for other salon services (nails, waxing) but I will definitely be coming back for my brows in the future. Tip: Credit cards accepted for services over $10 read more

Very good place, love coming here for my brows as its close to home and $5, you can't beat that!. Ranjeeta is awesome. I most definitely recommend her. Very personable and knows her stuff.
