I've been going to Waxmi regularly for the past 4 years, and every time, Wency is professional, thorough, clean, and such a pleasure to interact with. Waxing obviously isn't fun, but she makes it almost painless (for real!) and she has a gift for lightening the mood and taking the awkwardness out of it. She has become such an integral part of my hygiene routine, to the point where I see these regular appointments with her as self-care. I'm very prone to in-grown hairs and I never have an issue with her, she's literally that good!! Booking with her is easy and she checks in beforehand too so you can reschedule if needed, without paying any fees. She's a lovely person and is so great at what she does! 5 stars every time, 11/10!!

I was easily able to book an appointment a few days in advance through the website and had no issues. I got a follow up call and text from Wency to confirm my appointment, which I thought added a great personal touch. I've been getting waxed for 6+ years now and I have never had a more painless and effortless wax experience than with Wency. Since it was my first time coming into Waxmi, I came in a bit earlier than my scheduled appointment to fill out some paperwork. My first thought upon walking into the studio was "This is adorable!" Her studio decor is beautiful and girly, with plenty of artwork and aesthetically pleasing corners. There's even a bowl of gummies in the waiting area. I unfortunately didn't snag any this time around... but next time! Wency welcomed me with a big smile and immediately got me a little cup of water. While I was filling out the paperwork she told me she was just going to go clean the room and get everything ready. Once I was finished with the paperwork, she walked me back to the room and walked me through the procedures. Even though I've gotten waxed before, she made sure I was comfortable and relaxed, which I definitely was! During the procedure, we talked and laughed, in what usually would be an awkard situation for most. I didn't feel a drop of awkwardness at all, which is a sign that Wency does her job right! All in all, the waxing itself probably took about 15 minutes. Quick and easy in my opinion! Due keep in mind, I do have a higher pain tolerance, so even though it was quite painless for me... everybody has a different body and level of pain tolerance. As I was leaving, she told me all about the aftercare, told me to email/text her if anything came up, and gave me a big hug. I felt like I was hanging out with a friend I've known for years... is that weird? Wency is a one-woman superstar who runs her business on her own, and I have serious respect for her being a woman-owned, small business owner. She is so friendly, immediately makes you feel at ease, and fantastic at her job! If you're looking for a place to get waxed, go visit Wency at Waxmi. She'll take care of you and all your waxing needs!

I chose to come here based on stellar online reviews, that Miley Cyrus came here (she has to know a good waxer, right?), that appointments are offered into the evening and that they have hard wax. Also, the location is convenient for people downtown or taking skytrain. The area is really not sketchy like some others have said. Maybe if you are not used to homeless people or people loitering, but let's be real, that's everywhere these days. I was super happy with the services here. The rooms are private and clean. There is no double dipping and Annik, as well as the woman at the front desk, were very friendly and personable. Annik was a perfectionist with her waxing and made sure everything was symmetrical and all hairs were removed. She checked her work several times during the appointment, which I appreciate. She also worked quite quickly. While waxing is not going to be painless, the pain was very momentary.

I'm terrified of doing stuff that could be painful. But, after hearing how so many do this I decided to bite the bullet in August 2019 and get my first full manzillian. I had read that if people were scared of waxing they should try say their back or upper arms but I dove right in. I read a lot online, spent hours reading about the experience of other men and women. One thing that helped me was advice online that recommended people getting waxed take a extra strength Tylenol when they get up, and another just before the procedure as it helps the system be a bit numb to the pain. But in terms of narrowing down where I was going to go, I think I visited and read reviews of several places in Vancouver that specialize in just providing waxing services, as CoalitionSkin does. And for me, what made CoalitionSkin (aka the PxssyShop) stand out was a few reviews by men and how they said that the hard wax CoalitionSkin used is easier on delicate areas like your testes, pubic bone and yes, even your face. Also, in reading the bios online, CoalitionSkin has aestheticians who have both the training and years of experience in waxing that I felt they'd be able to do a good job. Which they do. Finally, I even found and read the health inspection reports for CoalitionSkin and they've never had any major infractions - and my own experience confirms that the place has always been spotless when I've been their. Booking appointments is easy to do online, where you can select your aesthetician and times in advance. My first time in August 2019 was with Camille, who unfortunately moved on shortly thereafter but she was great at explaining things and helping to position me during the waxing. She also instructed me to breathe in just before each rip of the wax and that helped prepare me. What actually hurt more was the odd time she had to go over a spot again as not all the hair would come out during my first wax. The hot wax stung the raw skin. But not for long. The first time also took the longest. Since September 2019, I've gone to Olivia, who has been great. Each time it's been easier as the hair doesn't grow in as fast or as thick. Also in September I started getting my beard waxed. Olivia does that too. I have always had a very thick beard since I was a teenager. When I trim and shave it away, stubble grows back quick within hours and that made dating difficult as by the end of the date, kissing me would be like kissing razor blades. So waxing the beard has helped remove the hair and keep it away for a couple of weeks where the skin stays smooth. And after having it done four times now it's easier each time. My last wax only took an hour or so for both the beard and Manzillian whereas the first beard wax took a good hour and the first Manzillian over 90 minutes, maybe close to two hours. Having said this though, even though it now takes less time, nothing ever feels rushed, they take the time that's needed to do things properly. Overall I'm glad I chose CoalitionSkin. It costs a bit more, but their aestheticians are well trained, experienced and very friendly and easy going. And I don't find it that painful at all. It's partly a mindset and taking the Tylenol helps I think. The CoalitionSkin website has lots of tips to help you prepare too. And they give great advice for aftercare too, like taking it easy for 24 hours and using tea tree oil as part of your after-wax regiment. Next summer, in 2020, I might try getting my back done, and having a bit of cleanup on my upper arms and chest although I don't think I'd ever get my full chest done. I think Camille said that the men she had waxed always said the back hurt the most but we will see! Anyway I can't recommend them enough. Especially if other men are curious about this, or ladies want their men to get stuff done don't be afraid to check out CoalitionSkin!

There is online booking offered as well which makes it really easy to secure an appointment. I find that the waxing experience is much more reliable and relaxing than your regular waxing studios/chains where there can be inconsistency depending on the technician. Happy to be supporting a local business and an experience aesthetician like Ashlene. Highly recommended if you are nervous about getting waxed, it's a good way to ease into the experience in her capable hands.

I came to Ashlene for a retry on the whole lash lift experince. I hate wearing a lot of make and love the lash extension look, but I am just not that high maintenance. My previous attempt and a lashlift had me looking like I stuck my fingers in an electrical outlet; months to recover. Ashelen does very nice work! I was very happy with the end result, and though I was initially a little skeptical, after 4 or 5 days its time to give a well deserved 5 star review!! Thanks Ashlene! Since I was told previously all staff are trained the same, I thought it would be ok. I was so wrong. Everything was different. The way savannah did it was way more painful than what Jody did. The temperature of the wax was hotter too. Even though I said it was hot, Savannah said she couldn't do it if it was cold. Errr...I'm not asking for cold wax. And she did not manage to do it in a single pull unlike Jody. So I had to endure the numerous tugging. Her recommendation on hair length was different from what Jody told me before. So I felt Savannah was giving the standard answer without taking into consideration of how everyone's hair growth is different. The last straw was finding leftover wax stuck in me when I took a shower. Unfortunately Jody will only be back in a year's time, so I gotta wait before I go back again.

I found this gem through yelp and Google in search of the best eyebrow threading since it was my first time getting my eyebrows threaded, let alone, done outside of home. Its more on the expensive side for eyebrow threading; $21 not including tax. But, I wanted my first time to be the a good one. After browsing around on Blink Brow Bars website a little more, they had a link for online booking which I quickly signed myself up for. The reviews do not lie, Blink Brow Bar is great! I dropped in 15 minutes earlier than my scheduled appointment and was quickly seated. It wasnt too busy for a rainy Thursday which was nice. I never caught the name of my technician but she was lovely. My eyebrow hairs are quite sparce since in my past I had a phase where I shaved almost all my eyebrows off and drew them in, but after that, I ended up plucking FAR too much though which resulted in weird shapes. My technician was straight up about it when she noticed which I really admired because I seriously hate when people try to sugar-coat things. We chatted a bit, but nothing too lasting which I don't mind at all since I'm not much of a talkative person. After all had been done, it turned out fantastic! All the right hairs were pulled off and the ones remaining were trimmed perfectly. She suggested brow tinting to me a few times which I will definitely consider for $19? I believe. It didn't stop there though, I got a nice eyebrow and temple massage with some sort of gel formula which came with 3 different types to choose from; aloe vera, 2 types of rose one light, one dark. My technician also insisted on filling in my eyebrows before I left with Blink Brow Bars eyebrow pallette which was great! They offer complementary chai tea and have a small plate of bite-sized chocolate on the receptionist desk. As of the moment, it's a little too pricey for me but I will definitely return when I feel like spoiling myself. read more

Went today to get eyebrow & eyelash tinting. It was my very first time, so I was nervous about the outcome. I chose this place due to the great Yelp reviews and I so happy I did...this place is AWESOME! Besides that it's good priced, it's also super cute & clean place with friendly employees. I'm a bit OCD and I have to say this place is super clean. You get text message appointment reminders, which is great! The lady that did my tint was named Deep I think and she was awesome! I have naturally blond eyebrows and wanted them darker, but still natural. She listened (which is super important to me) and gave suggestions, but let me in the end make the choice. She was very gentle, explained everything in detail before doing it and made me feel very comfortable. Best part while waiting she gave me a hand massage. The chairs are super comfortable as well, so it was easy to relax for 10 minutes while waiting for the tint to work its magic. I'm super happy with the outcome and it's better than I expected! Super natural and just what I wanted. Before leaving she offered water or Chai to go. Definitely going to get it done again in the future and I would recommend this place to everybody!!! P.s. The eyelash tint was stinging my skin a little bit, but she warned me about that beforehand and my skin around my eyes is anyways super sensitive so it wasn't something I was worried about read more

I am not a regular reviewer, but BLINK BROW BAR's fantastic service made me want to write one. This place is only a couple minutes away from my work. Eyebrows are very important and the staff at Blink are masters at what they do. I started to get my eyebrows done at the age of 14 and I have tried most of the threading places ranging from $5-$24 in Vancouver. However, I have not been as happy as I am after getting them done at Blink Brow. My eyebrows were uneven and I didn't think they could be fixed, but the staff helped me fix them completely. They charge $21.. it sounds a little expensive, but they include much more than just eyebrow threading. It took about 25 minutes, and I received a full consultation and eyebrow massage as well as threading!! I booked my second appointment before even leaving my first! One other thing that makes this place super unique, is their FRESH indian chai on the side!! They treat all their clients like royalty and never fail to make you feel at home! I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for perfection and or needs help to fix their eyebrows :) read more

If you live in Vancouver, this should be your go-to place. I was in town for the weekend, wanted to get some eyebrow/upper lip grooming done, but where, when and how to fit it in around my bitsy schedule? A Google search later, and I found Blink Brow Bar and you could book online - wow! Double wow for the service & expertise too. I ended getting a full face threading (loved the post-threading face massage) and that went so well that I decided to take advantage of the brazilian promo. My first ever, and wow (again) - the pain was minimal, they don't double-dip their wax applicators, and the wax itself is apparently a medical wax. The procedure was quick, professional, and over with a minimum of fuss. Not awkward at all. Well, ok, somewhat awkward for me cos, hello, everything is out there, but my aesthetician (the owner) was amazing and so skilled that it was over and done with in less time than bikini line waxes I've had elsewhere. I'm back home now and it's been 6 weeks but I haven't yet brought myself to book somewhere local because I kinda think it'll be a disappointment in comparison. read more

I am absolutely ecstatic that after many years of searching for the perfect place to get my eyebrows done I have finally found the perfect one ! They are so unique, the service all the ladies at blink brow offer is something I have not seen anywhere else! From the moment I walked in I felt so welcomed with their proffesianilism and friendliness, I felt like royalty! The esticisian Kiran is a master at eyebrow shaping! she sat me down made sure I was comfortable ( WOW those chairs are comfy). we talked about my eyebrow shape and exactly what we can do to perfect it for my face shape! And soon after she worked her magic. I was then shocked to be treated to a soothing eyebrow massage with my choice of aloe vera or rose gel! it was heavenly!! I have blond eye brows and need to tint them regularly. I recently moved from Calgary where I had a great brow esthetician, and I've been struggling to find a brow bar in Vancouver that I like. I've been to a handful of other brow studios and find that they don't really know what to do with brows as thin and blond as mine. Blink did an amazing job. They matched my hair colour perfectly, tinted my entire brow evenly, and were very professional and respectful throughout the entire process. They offered me a complimentary Chai tea when I arrived as well as one to go on my way out. Generally when you get your brows tinted they put on the dye and leave you there to stare at the ceiling for 10 minutes. At Blink I was given a hand massage while I waited for the tint to finish. They know what they're doing and on top of that they provide amazing customer service. I came to the Blink Brow Bar at a last minute call as I was across the street at Starbucks and noticed this newly opened place. I was shocked with the service that was given to their clients as well as the cleanliness of the whole place. The people working there were very caring, knowledgable, and passionate, as well as very professional when dealing with their clients. I had my eyebrows threaded for the first time and I'm so glad that I did it because they handled it very well knowing that it was my first time. The lady that threaded my eyebrows was very good with my concerns on pain and anything else, making sure that I felt comfortable the entire time. I am so glad that I walked into this Brow Bar because I am now a regular there, making a visit at least once every 3 weeks and I couldn't be more happier. This is seriously the best place for all your threading needs! Whenever I come here, it's always to get everything done in one go - my brows, upper lip and the sides of my face (I was cursed with excessive lady-beard genes). Whether you get Kiran the owner or any one of the other ladies, they all do such an amazing job and are so precise! Doesn't hurt that the service is friendly as well. The ladies take the time to map out how your brows are naturally shaped and are very knowledgeable in helping find the best shape that frames your face. The super relaxing massage they do after threading is such a treat. They finish with a bit of eyebrow makeup which is just icing on the cake. After your experience, you will seriously look and feel like royalty. I'd definitely recommend a brow/lash tint too - they don't go overboard with the dye and make you look like you have muppet brows. Bonus! read more

This place is as good as it gets for eyebrows! First time customer, came in to change my shape (something very crucial when done for the first time) my usual brow place was closed and I had school picture day the next day. I was in a state of panic about my eyebrows but the customer service was incredible! She assured me the shape she was going to do was going to suit my features, she seemed very professional and even made sure to draw the proportions just to make sure it would be threaded perfectly. And it was! Huge difference from my previous eyebrow shape in a good way! Also the cup of chai tea on a rainy day was lovely! Never tried it before, and now this place has got me hooked Can't stop recommending this place to everyone i know. I went to Blink for the first time this past weekend and was very impressed. I made an appointment through their website early that morning and was able to go in the same day. The studio is bright and airey despite being on the small side. I was offered a hot teacup of chai while I waited. Kiran generously offered me a 10% discount as I had to wait a measly 10-15 minutes past my scheduled time. Amazing customer service! Yes, the cost is pricey compared to my old cheapie threading place for $6, but this place is truly like a spa experience for your eyebrows. The ladies at Blink take the time to do a short consultation prior to threading. After that, I got a heavenly brow massage with rose gel and complimentary brow makeup done to fill in my newly sculpted brows. I was also offered a to-go cup of that delicious chai on my way out! So I'm sitting here by the seawall drinking my chai tea they offered to go thinking "life is good". That's a darn good feeling, the warm and fuzzy kind. And while an amazing threading isn't going to solve world hunger or even tell you how to turn that frown upside down, it is an amazing thing. These ladies are top notch! The place itself is a small, elegant looking store in coal harbour with possibly the comfiest chairs ever. Lucky for me, they weren't super busy today and I was booked for an appointment within the hour. When I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and cheer and seated immediately. Oh my the service, the service! Thorough, efficient, precise and careful, they made my brows look bombshell! And then to top it off, a heavenly brow massage. If only i had found out about Blink Brow Bar when i first moved to Vancouver - and not right before i decided to move again. I have been there twice now (second time, couldn't wait to go back again!) for a tint and threading of my brows. service is amazing, they fit you in right away and have wonderful customer service. I went to 2 different people and my experience with both was perfect. A wonderful hand massage while my brows were tinting and then a face massage with rose gel after the threading. This place just recently opened near my work, and I was just passing by today and decided to try it out since the place seems extremely clean and inviting. As I walked in, I was greeted with smiles and a high level of professionalism. They made me feel very comfortable from beginning to end. I had a full arm and full leg wax today, and they also gave me a complimentary eyebrow threading because of their opening special. They gave me a mini massage on my legs, arms, and eyebrows after waxing/threading too. They really take the time to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. I really valued their strict hygienic standards as a lot of waxing salons do not have the same practice. I feel at ease that I am left in good hands and don't have to worry about cross-contamination. read more

This is the best place to get your brows done in Van and I have already done my brows everywhere in this city but nothing compares! The place is super classy and well decorated Indian style, they offer an amazing chai tea that is incredible and the service is outstanding! I go every two weeks I honestly I wish my eyebrows grew faster so I could go more often the experience is just great! They do an super relaxing scalp massage as well so great! I always book with Sim she is just a delight and perfectionist, she knows what I like and always make sure I'm happy with it. Blink Brow Bar is absolutely amazing!! Every worker is extremely professional and they ALWAYS do a perfect job. Before doing any threading, they use a white eyeliner(?) to map out a shape that would work best for you and acquire your approval or any suggestions before beginning the threading. Blink Brow Bar is extremely clean as well; your eyebrows are cleaned before and after threading. After threading they follow with an eyebrow massage, with your choice of rose or aloe gel (this part is probably the best!). The price may sway you the other way to a cheaper brow place but believe me, the price is well worth it! You'll have the best brows of your life and the service is impeccable. I grew up in Surrey, the land of cheap eyebrow threading. When I moved downtown, I was shocked at the prices! However, after many botched waxing jobs (we're talking blisters, ghetto-fabulous, you name it), I decided to check out Blink. I am SO happy I did. The price at Blink is slightly less than Bombay but the quality is MUCH better. The wonderful ladies at Blink take time to find out what you are wanting, how you are feeling throughout the experience and even offer a fabulous massage AND makeup touch up! Who would have thought having eyebrows done could be such a relaxing experience! When I came here to Vancouver, I was desperately looking for brow bars who are experts and know how to shape your brow the way you want. While I was crossing the Bute st, I found this brow bar and tried it. It was AMAZING. They totally got what I wanted and I was relieved. Their hands are so quick in treating that You don't feel pain. Besides, the do many things if you want. Like shadowing, make-ups, massages!!! With different gels such as Aloe Vera. Powerful hands! By the way, if you had more time, try their amazing tea with milk! It's totally worth it considering their fair prices. I'm a usual customer of Bombay Brow Bar but last Saturday, they couldn't see me for a full facial threading so I looked up on Yelp and found out about Blink Brow Bar. I decided to create an account online and booked an appointment. From the moment I got there, I loved how friendly the staff was, how efficient Kiran the esthetician was. You can tell she has many years of experience ! My skin feels fabulous and my eyebrows are awesome ! I recommend this place to everyone ! They just opened few weeks ago but I can see they will most likely be very successful ! And by the way, make sure you say yes when they will offer you a chai tea, it was delicious ! read more

This place is absolutely amazing. I have been meaning to write a review for quite some time. When I first went there with a friend of mine almost a year ago my eyebrows were in rough shape. The girls at blink had set up a "brow plan" for me and I eventually got the brows that I wanted. I love the care and attention that they put into making sure that you get what you want. I love the massage that you get after your eyebrows are done and the make-up application that they put on your brows so that you leave there feeling refreshed. I have even been able to walk in and get service if it is not during their busy lunch hour. I highly recommend them. read more

I was told the wait was going to be 5 mins but ended up waiting maybe 10-15 mins which wasn't too bad I guess. I went to the washroom during my wait and was pleased with how clean it was. It's a snug but very clean washroom. I went for eyebrow shaping (threading), eyebrow tinting, and upper lip threading. It came to $60 after tip. The woman helping me asked me what type of shape I wanted and drew out the ideal shape. She asked me if I liked it and checked in with me a lot as she progressed. I really appreciated that. She was also very gentle. While the brow tint was developing, she massaged my hands which was great. After she removed the tint, she gave my eyebrows a massage as well. Once she was done, she applied aloe gel (you can choose rose gel instead) to help soothe and reduce the redness (my skin is super sensitive). I will definitely return!

I also felt that the stylist struggled with the actual blow-drying technique and did not seem comfortable or confident working with my hair using a round brush. Unfortunately, once I got home, I also noticed that blue shampoo had been left around my ears, which was disappointing and something I would have expected to be checked before I left the salon. The stylist herself was very friendly, but overall, the service did not meet my expectations for a professional blowout, particularly given the price.
