Upscale Mexican restaurant in Downey. Nice inside, staff was courteous and friendly. Menu , not a typical Mexican food. My girl had salmon and I had Rib Eye steak. Steak cooked to perfection. Poblano mashed potatoes were the bomb. My girls Margarita sucked, no booze and tasted like a fruity drink. I had Vodka/lemonade, both drinks had good amounts of alcohol. Restaurant is a little pricey, $65.00 for a Rib Eye, check your bill at end, had a 3% surcharge. No bueno, totally against the law. We complained and management took off bill. They tried to explain it was for higher prices. We won't go back, just too pricey. read more

Came to Diosa for the first time tonight with my husband to celebrate our anniversary and the food service was amazing! The host Natasha was so friendly and accommodated us when we wanted to move tables. She took a lovely picture of us. We later ordered these delicious street tacos! Today I visited Diosa with friends on a whim. I had never heard of it before nor had it been recommended by anyone I know. I'm so glad that I'm open to new places!!!! When I first walked in, I was taken in by the beautiful decor. Everything was so elegant and upscale. Every employee I encountered was friendly and welcoming. When I got to my table, my friends had already ordered their cocktails. Two ordered the gorgeous Diosa & Co, which was the perfect Tiffany blue and came to the table in the cutest box and another order the margarita flight. I ordered the flight as well. The flavors were rose, guava lavender, pineapple Serrano, and strawberry basil. I loved them all, but if you are not a fan of spicy, ask if you can sub that one out. For appetizers we ordered the guacamole and queso fundido. Both were delicious. The guacamole is smoky and full of flavor. We ordered steak and eggs, chilaquiles, blue corn pancakes, and French toast. Everything was on point! We will be adding this spot to our list of regulars. Although my partner and I had reservation and we arrived 10 min early and got seated fairly quickly, they left us unattended for over an hour! No one managed to at least start us of with water or drinks. We were apparently "invisible" because the staff would continuously walk by our table avoiding eye contact only catering to the large parties. As a former restaurant worker I'm very understanding about the wait time on busy days and being short staffed, but even if I attempted to catch one of the staff attention they continued to look over me or immediately turn around and walk the other direction. I'm only thankful the parking valet worker didn't charge us, he understood our bad experience. read more

Reservations: were made through their site- very easy to do. Please make note that they will not sit you until your entire party has arrived -or majority of your party. They have an alcohol cart coming around to offer you shots while you wait (and even when you're at your table). Attire: there was truly a mix of styles, from high heels to sneakers/Ugg boots. No one seemed to care. Ambiance: it's loud, but not obnoxiously noisy. I want to say there's music in the background but we were too deep into our conversations that I can't remember. Food: Good, but pricey! Overly priced maybe. They have decent prices during their Goddess Hour. Drinks: now these are AMAZING! All the drinks are delicious, and photo worthy if that's what you're into. Parking: limited but available in the shopping center but they also have valet parking for $10. From the friendly doormen, to the friendly helpful staff, not only is this restaurant so beautifully aesthetically but the vibe and cocktails are delicious and so beautiful as well. This place is great to come for drinks and a vibe, they have a good playlist and the outdoor seating area is very nice. When opened you're smacked with a decisions aroma of smoked cinnamon and the drink went down like a smooth operator. The steak empanadas were made perfectly with every bite getting a mouthful of flavor. It's served with a green cilantro/avocado type sauce and what tasted like a spicier chipotle cream. Both were addicting. The octopus was tender and the perfect amount of chewy. The cherry tomatoes, potatoes and cauliflower were roasted perfectly and made a excellent bite. The salmon risotto is cooked to order. We got medium well. The skin was fried making it a nice little chicharrón bite. Now the risotto made you want to lick the plate!! So creaming, coconut cream was just right and veggies all still had a lovely crunch and not over cooked. Came here to celebrate a birthday. It's very nice inside, the food was good but I honestly think it is very overpriced. They charge for every single thing if you ask for extra sauce or tortillas. The biggest thing that was a problem for me was the waiting!!! Everything took soo long. We got there when it was pretty empty and still appetizers took around 25 minutes and the main entree took about another 30-45 minutes. Even to get the check took 20 minutes. The only thing I was unhappy with was when we went to brunch, and they didn't list that one of the items on the menu had pork, and it definitely did.
