Japanese Wagyu
Loretta W.

This sweet spot was a delightful surprise. Hidden away in a "strip mall" is this warm and inviting, classy, quiet and elegant restaurant. The service was excellent, with just enough attention to feel taken care of, and not too much so we felt rushed (I hate that). I felt like the servers were invested in us having a wonderful experience. And we did! We ordered the vegetable empanadas, which we spectacular! The crust was perfectly crispy and flaky. Some of the best empanadas I've ever tasted. For our entree, we shared the Japanese A5 Wagyu. The server seared it table-side on some crispy, buttery brioche. We had the poblano mashed potatoes on the side...wow! I was not expecting the flavor bomb that happened in my mouth! So delicious!!! For beverages- I had the Emerald Embers, a tequila-forward, citrusy, Serrano chili sparkle beverage that made me hum; my partner had the most delightful Santorini served and poured table-side in a porthole infuser. Gorgeous! The place is spendy though, so only on special occasions for us. We had a marvelous time!

Pork shank

Beautifully decorated with top-notch service and an impressive cocktail menu. I had to try a few espresso martinis, and they did not disappoint. The pork shank was the standout: perfectly crispy on the outside with tender, fall-off-the-bone meat inside. Definitely the kind of dish you come back for. The shrimp was also excellent--plump and sautéed just right in a rich butter sauce. It's on the pricier side, but after another $20 cocktail, you probably won't mind as much

I've been here a couple times. Each time was a good experience. The place is nice with a good vibe. The customer service is great too. The last time we had the coco risotto (salmon) and the crispy pork shank. Both were amazing. The ambiance inside is semi dark. The music is a. It on the loud side but not too much. I'd definitely come back!

Our server Emily was amazing and made the whole moment memorable. Came here for my friend's gender reveal and it was such a cute experience. The reveal was so unique they brought it out in a little potion-like box with smoke, which made it feel extra special and magical. The taquitos and street corn were really good, and the service was great.

Really happy with our food and service the waiter Chava was kind and helpful we'll definitely come again my husband and I enjoyed our Mar y tierra dish

Came here for a friends birthday and it the ambiance was nice. I noticed it's like really fancy and almost came in regular clothes. The lady at the front was very kind and made sure we had a place to sit. The front area was spacious to where we can sit. Our waitress was such a sweetheart and made sure we were good. The food was alright. Overpriced but okay quality of food. The drinks were alright. Some of it did not taste good. Restroom was dirty. You think a place that charges a lot would have a clean restroom for their guests. In all...the service was probably the best out of everything. Also it was cute the had people selling roses and extra shots lol I will come during happy hour and try it again.

Diosa French Toast

A five star restaurant in Downey, CA. A five star restaurant experience with great customer service and delicious food! They have rooms and spaces for private dining parties. We had guacamole and chips, shrimp ceviche, a burrito and fajita trio- with chicken/shrimp and steak. Good taste and seasoning. Beautiful black restrooms and nice art throughout the space. This place is really large. We also had margaritas. Great staff, respectful staff, such as Jose and Stella. Warning, a bit pricey, but worth it. We are returning soon.

I heard a lot about this place and I decided to give it a shot on a Saturday night with my mom. I heard they have a football bar. They have delicious food and blah blah blah so here we go I decided to order a whiskey sour and a Paloma. My whiskey sour was made twice because the bartender forgot to ask me if I want the egg of course I want it. It's a part of that cocktail.. He brought me the cocktail again, but it was looking really weird and the taste was not really nice and smooth. He offered me to make it again and I'll say no at that point I was really super mega disappointed we had to order food and I decided to cancel it. Imagine the drinks were like that I cannot imagine how the food was gonna be parking situation is really good. You can find parking easy. The team of the establishment seem to be also very top of the game. They're really nice but the drinks are not. They really need a beverage director especially for the bar. What a sadness for my heart that this place has a full bar but not a great cocktails and come back maybe 3 to 6 months to see how they doing again and I'll probably update my review.

If you are looking for a local community that is busting and has a vibrant Latin culture representation, come to the city of Downey! And Diosa is a relatively new restaurant to the area. It provides fusion of Mexican and American cuisines with flare and sophistication. Diosa means goddess, if you ever wonder like I did, LOL! . So welcome to the dinning hall of the palace of the goddess! Came here with my coworkers and we had a blast! Loved the margaritas! And the appetizers were amazing which surpassed all the entrees that we had in my humble opinion. Great plating and presentations! Highly recommend the following: DIOSA CHUNKY GUAC Street Corn Chip and salsa Empanadas Ahi Tuna tower- just heavenly! And please at least watch other people ordering the Churros dessert, they really put on a show for you with fire! Our servers were attentive despite our big group. The place is huge! Great for family/group dining. Nicely decorated. Check out their happy hour menu to see which drink or dish you enjoy and come back for dinner later. And don't forget to stop by Porto's, the Cuban bakery, which is located across the street from Diosa, to pick up some freshly baked pastries to complete your trip!

I've been craving breakfast food for a while so I got the breakfast burrito to try. It definitely hit the spot for me, and it was so big I ended up splitting it with 2 other people. My friend got the breakfast bowl and I tried some. It was basically the same as the burrito but just deconstructed with quinoa as a base. It was all great! I love that Guacamaya serves breakfast all day for late risers like me. I really wanted to try the coconut Tres leches that was on display as well, but I think they said it was like $12. That was way too steep for me for a single slice.

The restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived. We ordered gorditas, guacamole, and nachos. I had a margarita, and my friend enjoyed her nachos with a refreshing cucumber drink. We also purchased a cup of *Champurado* to go, after sampling it - and it's truly exceptional. My gorditas featured a delicious mushroom "meat" and soy chorizo. The chorizo had a delightful kick - a pleasant spice, not overpowering. The mushroom "meat" was fantastic! The guacamole was perfect, and I appreciated the NO tomatoes. I didn't try the nachos, but my friend seemed to thoroughly enjoy the diverse ingredients. We had a wonderful time and I'll definitely be returning. I highly recommend the *Champurrado*, the gorditas (especially the mushroom one!), and the guacamole. The soy chorizo was also excellent.

We started with the octopus, which was super tender (not rubbery at all ) and paired really nicely with fresh avocado, herbs, and a light citrusy kick. Definitely one of the better octopus dishes I've had. The shrimp empanadas were crispy, golden, and packed with flavor. Topped with crema, avocado sauce, and fresh onions, they had the perfect balance of crunchy + creamy + tangy. Loved that they were stuffed full or shrimp and not greasy. For the main, the steak fajita dish came with sautéed peppers and onions, a roasted pepper, creamy beans, and guac on the side. The steak had a nice char and good seasoning, and everything on the plate complemented each other really well. The fajitas were cooked to perfection. My sisters ordered the Branzino and chicken quesadillas and Agua chile. The fish was cooked perfectly and didn't come out tasting too fishy and the quesadillas were stuffed with chicken. An evening here feels, at first, like an invitation into something refined--dim lighting, polished interiors, and a menu that promises indulgence. The mole poblano delivered beautifully: rich, layered, and deeply satisfying. The ahi tuna ceviche followed with freshness and elegance, showcasing the kitchen's true capability. However, not every detail carried that same intention. The guacamole lacked depth and seasoning--unexpected for a restaurant at this level. But the most defining part of the experience happens before you even sit down. With valet as the only real parking option (approximately $35), guests are required to wait outside in a crowded, unpredictable environment. During my visit, the atmosphere felt chaotic and, at times, unsafe. What stood out most was the absence of a consistent, visible security presence at the entrance. For a restaurant of this caliber, a dedicated security guard stationed at the entrance should be standard--not optional. Managing the valet flow, maintaining order, and most importantly ensuring guests feel safe and comfortable should be part of the experience. Javier's delivers moments of excellence on the plate--but true luxury is holistic. It's not just what you serve, it's how you protect, welcome, and elevate your guests from the very first step.
