I'm gonna go ahead and voice text since my thumbs hurt. The service was amazing. Everyone was very attentive, polite, and would check up on us frequently, but not so much where you're annoyed. We visited at around 6 pm on Thursday. We didn't need reservations but by the time we left it was pretty packed. Now for the food, keep in mind, I cook most of my meals at home with little to no salt, the food was too salty for me. I'm sure it would be fine for folks that are not sensitive to salt. The food presentation was beautiful, the churros Foster was made right in front of us. A fun experience. I had the pollo mole and ahi tuna tower I also ordered the empanas BUT the menu did not mention they were made with cheese so I had to pass on them. Went for dinner on Saturday evening and the place was really busy, there was an hour to 2 hours wait with no reservations, please make a reservation through OpenTable. I of course made a reservation for 8:30 pm and had to wait an additional 30 minutes to be seated. The hostess handed me a small restaurant pager to let me know when my table is ready. I went straight to the bar and I ordered a drink while I sat and waited. My Sister and I were seated finally and our waiter Christian took our food and drink order. We ordered the lobster ceviche and it was delicious! I totally recommend it. Christian was very attentive and friendly. We also ordered the steak empanadas and they were great too. My only complaint is that there should be a dress code. People who come here clearly did not get the assignment about how to dress properly for dinner. Diosa is a gem in Downey. The interiors, the design, the thought put into the place is absolutely splendid. It's a place u want to dress up and go to. The music is lively and keeps up the good mood. The service is welcoming , hospitable and the servers are concerned about your experience at the restaurant. They give u excellent service. This is most definitely an upscale restaurant. The moment you arrive you're greeted by the beautiful exterior. There's a greeter checking people in, you're able to wait inside (if there's room) or outside. We had reservations since we were a party of 8 and didn't have to wait long to be seated. If you're into taking photos for the 'gram' and this is most definitely the place to do it. Service - Our server/waiter was Rogelio, he immediately asked if it was our first time there and we advised him that it was. He gave us a quick background of the restaurant and the cultural influences behind the unique flavor combinations on the menu. He also made sure to let us know they don't hold their food under heat lamps. They want everyone to have their meal as soon as it's ready, so not everyone's food will come out at the same time, but more thank likely within a few minutes of each other. Although I respect this model/approach, in most group settings, everyone waits for one another's meal before they begin eating. So the women at our table who received their food first waited to start eating until the last person received their food. Once the food began coming out, other servers kept coming to our table and asking us if we had ordered different meals. Even after we all received our food, they tried giving us 4 other entrees. I'm not sure if these are new servers or if there was a mix up with the tables. But that got a bit annoying after a while. Drinks - I ordered the Watermelon Paleta ($20) and was pleasantly surprised that I received an actual watermelon paleta with chile in my drink. We ordered a round of Kamikaze's ($13 each) for the table and they were delicious. Multiple women in my group ordered the DIOSA Margarita Flight ($34) and they all enjoyed each one. Someone ordered The Kylie ($19), it tasted like strawberry. I can't remember all of the other drinks ordered, but there were no complaints, they were all delicious. Food - I ordered the Enchiladas del Mar. They weren't the best shrimp enchiladas I've had, I didn't eat about half my plate, which felt like a waste because it's a $49 plate. The two women that ordered the Coco Risotto Salmon ($45) said it was good, but nothing to brag about. One of the women said the Enchiladas Poblanas ($37) were good. There were a couple of orders of the Cast Iron Carnitas ($45) and the women seemed to enjoy that meal. Ambiance - the music was a bit loud so it made it difficult to talk to everyone at the table. I saw this new restaurant, open up near me and decided to give it a try on a Friday evening. The restaurant itself is beautiful -- amazing decorations, Instagram worthy backdrops, and simply stunning architecture. The food and the drinks are definitely on the pricey side so be prepared for that. For the price, I was expecting amazing food, but it was really just ok. We got the steak nachos and the chicken Al Pastor which were not entirely memorable. The drinks were good, and I can see this place being somewhere to grab a few photo worthy cocktails. The best dish was the guava cheesecake-- definitely recommend this if you do check this place out. The service was good, but it was extremely busy that night which is understandable. It was definitely hard to have a conversation or hear each other as there is a live DJ playing very loud music. Don't recommend this place if you like chatting during dinner. I do want to note that it's very very dark in the restaurant in the evening so if you're a fan of looking out what you're eating, you're probably going to have a tough time. She attended to us at all times, suggested drinks and she even customized one of our drinks, which was a cucumber margarita, it was so good, my favorite. Got invited by some friends to come out and check it out and from the pictures decided to go. Reservation - Had a reservation and it took about 5-10 Minutes to be seated from our reservation time. Reservations are highly recommended. Parking - They pretty much only offer Valet and sucks for regular parking unless you want to park in front of other businesses. Pretty sure it's not legal to block off that many Parking spots by code. Venue - The Place is hands down very upscale, modern , classy, and up to par with today's trends. Good size restaurant with a decent size bar. Prices - I mean the place is beautiful but the prices are pretty high for the location and the quality of food and drinks. 4 people and the tab was over $600, so they need to chill on some of the outrageous prices on some items. Service - Service was good and bad, could definitely use some work. When are server was asked on orders he seemed annoyed (not all his fault, maybe kitchen) but his response could be more professional. Food - Hate how they can arrange for appetizers to come out first, and all entrees at the same time, instead they bring stuff out as its ready. The food was above avg but not great specially for the crazy prices they have. Drinks - Great presentation on most drinks, but some are good and other avg. They also did take a while to bring some of the drinks out, and the prices are high. Hmmm so where do I start? First off you're going to definitely get a trendy vibe when you walk in! Can't deny it's absolutely gorgeous! A place to take pictures if you're one to post on social media. We had reservations but still had to wait about 15min before seated. Our waiter was very polite but seem to disappear towards the end after all our food was brought out to us at different times. He no longer checked on us to see if we need anything else. We had to ask about dessert and wanting more drinks. As far as the food. There were so many mixed emotions from everyone. The street corn was salty. The guac was too much on the spicy side. It seem like every entree had fresh chili peppers sprinkled in all the food. So if you don't like spicy make sure to tell them to hold all Chili's. Literally everything had spice to it. Shocked the water didn't have spice in it as well..lol..I have to say the food is definitely not worth the prices! AT ALL! Maybe they are charging for the experience and elegance of the place. I went to Diosa after seeing all the IG reviews popping up on my feed. It is indeed a beautifully decorated restaurant with a nice ambiance (located next to a cvs in a shopping center parking lot). Once you walk in you are taken aback by the decor. I must admit it's pretty, chic and cool. Oh and everyone is dressed up. I'm sure you don't have to be but it's seems that's the vibe. 1. Wait time: did not wait long to be seated. We did have reservations. So that was a plus 2. Host: He was very welcoming and took his time answering our questions. He was busy and at one point we needed water so my friend just reached back and grabbed a pitcher of water and refilled herself 3. Appetizers- ok well this is not el torito or Acapulco where you get lots of chips with you guacamole (see pic below). Literally like maybe 10 chips that we learned quickly to ration by breaking one chip into three pieces to scoop up the guacamole. We ordered a refill of chips for $4 . I mean I get it but $4 I dunno about that or the portion that they give you. But I guess your paying for the ambiance. 4. Drinks- ok so I think this place is good for the drinks. They are good and the presentation of some of them are super cute. I'd probably go back for drinks only and maybe appetizers. 5. Food - food was ok but I have had better. I had the enchiladas poblanas, my friend had shrimp ones (those were good), my other friend had the queso fundido (that was really good). Food was ok tho. All in all it was ok. I see they have a goddess hour where maybe you can just go try out the stuff a bit cheaper if your curious. I think it's kinda like a Javier's but I think Javier's is better. If you're reading this, it's a yes for me for 3 reasons: 1. The vibe - this place feels like you're at a bougie restaurant in Vegas without having to drive or fly there. The interior is decked with cascades of chandeliers, candles for that romantic vibe, and dim lights paired with good music. 2. The service. This restaurant is family owned and their servers are intentional about making sure you're taken care of. There's even a server / bartender that walks around to sell shots of tequila that's served in a champagne flute. So whether it's been a minute since you've taken a shot (like us LOL) you feel like a classy bad bish taking it. Big shoutout to our server, Pauline for taking great care of us - your professionalism and vibe got us wanting to come back. 3. The food & drink experience! You can either order their food family style (which is what we did) or order individually. Bone marrow luge: this is not your typical bone marrow. The marrow is filled with short rib that you can use to make for tacos. It was still good, but felt like more of a pretty plate vs the traditional bone marrow. Coco Salmon Rissoto: the flavor on this was superb. The only downside was that the rissoto was dry. Tomahawk rib eye steak: ORDER THIS. The flavor on this steak was so juicy (we ordered it to be cooked as medium) and shared this among the 6 of us. Worth the $200. Paella: the seafood paella was yUUuUmMmmM! I'd order this again - loved that it was packed with lots of shrimps, clams, and flavorful rice. Ok now let's talk draaaanks...I recommend ordering: * margarita flight * plata o pomo You won't regret it! I decided to go to Diosa for my 23rd anniversary. From the moment we walked up to the valet parking we were greeted with a friendly welcome. Walked into the restaurant and again greeted with friendly and helpful hostess. We had reservations and were sat within a few minutes. Our server was very attentive and helpful. Had reservations for 4:30 arrived at 4:32 took about 5min to get seated. There weren't many people around 4:30, but after 5ish it started to get busy. Seating: there seems to be different vibes for seating. Towards the back it felt more like low key vibes with dimmer lighting. Towards the front it's more open and more light. They also had what I'm assuming window that were open which did make it cold. Unfortunately you can't choose where you sit when making reservations. Would have rather sit away from the windows. That breeze coming in was a little too cold for me. Food/Drinks: There's is someone walking around with a bar cart. Enchiladas poblanas: um I'm not too sure how I feel about this dish. It was good but I wouldn't go back for this specific dish. It's served with a side of green rice and black beans.
