I have always loved Ding Tea! This has been a favorite location of mine for years, honestly, since they opened they have been my favorite. I love the consistency of all of their milk teas and boba and I love the fun flavors/combos they create. I usually get most of my drinks at 25%-50% sweetness since every drink has their own natural sweetness. Everytime I go, I am always greeted by the sweetest team members. It's really easy to order and drinks come out pretty quickly. I usually like to sit inside, but there are only a few tables and they can get busy, so sometimes it's difficult to find seating. It usually really easy to find parking in the plaza, although it may not be close to Ding Tea. My usual go-to orders for milk teas are matcha, taro, monster Ube, brown sugar, and oreo. I love that you can ask for alternative milks with most of their milk teas. I recently had the pistachio matcha Oreo frappe with boba. It was so good! Might be one of my favorites now. Love the creamy thickness of the pistachio matcha Oreo frappe with fresh boba. I had this at 50% sweetness as the Oreo (that was blended in) definitely is plenty sweet and I loved the balance of the nutty flavor from the pistachio. Came in for a Mango Slush with boba. We've never been here or other locations. I was disappointed with the mango slush as other places are creamy and milk based with dark boba. Here, the slush melted really fast because the boba was warm. So we ended up with half melted slush with warm little boba. The taste was meh as well. Will not return because this seems like a no brainer with a slush. Good points: place was clean, sit down tables, nice lighting, smelled amazing from waffle cone, and service was pretty quick... but no smiles or greeting. Service needs improvement. Our family is always getting boba here, it never dissapoints, 10/10! My go to is always the jasmine milk tea blended with sea salt cream and crystal boba. My other favorite here is the Thai tea boba blended with crystal boba too! My hubby loves the mango slush with sea salt cream or cheese cream on top. This drink was extremely sweet so I would definitely recommend getting 75% or even 50% sweetness customization if you order this drink. Rating: 5/10. Service was friendly and pretty quick. It's so hot today, but I wanted the best boba in town, so I drove over here! This store has the best flavor combinations for bubble tea. I gave the strawberry oreo frappe with oat milk a try, and it is heavenly! Strawberry heaven in a cup. The person who made my drink was a professional because the presentation is there, the flavor is impeccable, and I love how they kept the cookie crumbles on the bottom like yogurt-style. I thought about how cute the place was instantly when we walked in! I love the decor and how decorative the whole place was. I ordered 2 drinks so that I could try a milky one and a fruit tea so I got the oolong milk tea with boba and the mango black tea with mango jelly both drinks with less sweetness. Never coming here again. I always tip but not if you give the worst attitude before I even fully place my order in. There is underground parking, but I have not utilized it before. At the time of my visit it was late afternoon during the week so above ground parking spaces were available. More options to try something new. My order for the day, Large mango milk tea with double boba. I love fresh mangoes and this is my first time to try a mango milk tea. I got sweetness from the boba and tartness from the mango mix. I didn't realize the drink was a little warm because of the fresh boba, until after I had drove away from the business. A little more ice to make it a cold drink especially on that hot day would have been really nice. I won't dock away too many stars for that, I do like fresh boba. The boba was definitely different too from your typical boba. It was light, not dense. I do like the dense boba, but this was nice for a change too. Seemed more refreshing having the light boba. I would love to try the variety of drinks they have to offer other than the milk teas. Maybe a slushie next time. I would return for a nice cold, refreshing drink. Why 4 stars? I've heard about Ding Tea from one of my IG Followers on www.EatingOceanside.com and decided it's about time I give them a try and see what all the hype is about. When it comes to convenience, they are in a great location. Ding Tea is found on Oceanside Blvd and about 15 minutes away from the beach and about 15-20 minutes in any direction from the center of Oside. One downfall is that the shopping plaza they are in has many other dining establishments and there's limited parking. One cool thing is that you can order ahead and even delivery is available online using Grubhub, DoorDash or Clover. Ding Tea is small inside and the seating/waiting area is limited, but that's okay. It's not boasting to be a café. Many customers just grab their boba and hit the road. Service was okay and they looked like they had a team of 4-5 staff. I wasn't greeted when I entered and it took them a while to even acknowledge I was there. BUT, in their defense, I think they were training other staff AND I entered when it was kinda rush hour. So, I'll have to come again to give this another experience. Now for the boba tea... The menu options were staggering!!! Ding Tea had so many options I was blown-away!! So many flavor combinations that I didn't even know what to choose and it took me time to make my order. Hahaha! Phenomenal!! There were honey-teas, oolongs, green-teas, matchas, Oreo shakes and tiramisu-floaters to cheesecake mixes... EVERYTHING sounded so amazing and kept my interest! Prices were very reasonable too :) I ordered a Monster Boba Latte & Brown Sugar Milk Tea and I thoroughly them both! Overall, if you like milk tea, slushes, bobas and experimenting with Taiwanese-style teas you HAVE GOT to give Ding Tea a try! (Side-Thought): The ONLY real gripe I had was with their website (located on Yelp) and that it was so aesthetically pleasing, but didn't focus on the ease-of-use and overall functionality for the users experience. This is because they didn't do a separate version of their website for English-speakers and another version for their Asian locations. So, even though there's a 'translate' option, it's a little difficult to navigate. But this IS NOT a deal-breaker and many may not even access their website to experience this. This is the 3rd time I visit the location and my order has been wrong. I placed a pick up order and all of the drinks were made incorrectly. I asked for one of my drinks without boba and was given boba. When I asked to have it remade she denied my request. She then only handed me two drinks when I had four in total. When I asked, she told me there was only two. I had to ask her to check again and she confirmed that she didn't pay attention to the other drinks. Once I got home I noticed all the taro drinks tasted like water, I had undercooked boba in another, and the last one had jelly instead of egg pudding. I also asked for the drink to be reduced in sugar, due to my grandma having diabetes, and it tasted like they put double the amount. Overall it's safe to say I will not be coming back to this place. It's great to have a good boba place in the area - but they JUST opened (4.22.21). That said, they still have a few kinks they need to work out. A lot of the employees (most) are still in training and some don't even know how to use a blender (this made us laugh, but really though!)... They just seem a bit flustered. I asked for boba and got crystal boba instead. It's OK, but it was hard... kind of disappointing. It'd also be nice to see an online ordering system! PARKING. Brace yourselves. It's terrible. There's underground parking that's closed off so a lot of folks are parking on the side with their hazards on in one-way lanes. Bottlenecks everywhere + everyone looking down on their phone instead of being present in an already busy lot. People were backing up without looking and we almost saw 3 accidents in a span of 3-5 minutes.. They're open at 11am and close at 9pm. So you're either dealing with the lunch or dinner crowd that's there for the other restaurants. Something to keep in mind when you go ;) TIP TO THE BUSINESS. If you're going to have someone work the register - please ask them to speak up. Well, I did give you a visit again down the line. I was following the downward order of your menu guide when ordering "Could I have 16oz, 50% ice, and 25% sugar of..." She cuts me off 'Of what?' Well, I was getting there. I finish my order and she fights me on the sugar level "We recommend at least 50% sugar for that drink." I say "No, 25% still" Side note: your worker just handled cash, didn't see her wash her hands, maybe she did behind the counter or maybe she wiped on a rag, regardless, grabbing the ice scooper by the scoop on accident rather than the handle requires another scooper. She uses the scooper anyhow and scoops the ice. I get my drink and I tell her it's way too sweet. She tells me there's no sugar in it. I say I ordered "25% sugar" she says that's just the syrup on the side. It was all confusing. I asked to re-make the drink with 0%. She asked "Do you still want grass jelly in it?" Well, yeah, it was paid for. Finally, so much better. These woke Zoomers make everything difficult. Glad the 3 zoomers are working tonight are actually working and not just on their screens all day, but they aren't pleasant, neither am I when I come in here. I really want to commend two of your employees, by the name of Elijah (?) and Johnny. They both recognize me as I come in and grab a seat. I need to grab a seat because I am usually pretty breathless. I have Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy (HOCM), which makes it difficult to stand in line or walk. Anyway they always come to me and take my order, take my money, and proceed to go back and make my drink, ring the register make change for me. They even get my phone number so I can get my Clover points. I really appreciate their consideration and thoughtfulness. Without it, I think I probably would not enjoy coming to get my Boba tea.
