Sometimes, it gets pretty busy as the entrance/cashier location is pretty close to each other from the moment you enter. There is a small bench that seats 3-4 and an elongated bar stool area that seats up to 8 seats with room to stand. Otherwise, you'll likely have to step outside and wait for a room to open up and make your way back in. Nice and cozy is the name of this place. I've been to many Ding teas, the one in Torrance (Now they're out of the franchise), Lomita, Carson, Irvine, and this one, Hawthorne. But every time I've been to the ding tea at Hawthorne their boba is always consistent, coated in a thin layer of honey and sugar, a firm chew that doesn't fall apart in your mouth. In the past (2023) Lomita also had the same consistency but recently I haven't had the same experience. It was raining on this day and I ran down El Segundo for this boba. There were many newly released Ube drinks but I setteled with the Ube Milk, being presented like a sunset in a dream, it had a beautiful purple, the drink was milky, nutty, and a little vanilla, paired with ding tea's golden boba, I had an enjoyable time. I had been wanting to try this store since it opened. I live in Santa Monica and intentionally visited them just an hour before closing last week. However, they informed me that they were no longer taking orders, and I'm not sure what the issue was. Today is my second visit, and being a Taro lover, I ordered a drink with Taro in it. Their menu stated that they use REAL TARO BITS, and the pictures of their drinks seemed to be made with real taro paste. But the drink I received? It was made with 100% artificial flavor, scent, and color added in a powdered form. I couldn't believe I drove all the way from Santa Monica here twice for an artificial Taro milk tea. This is a scam. I called them and confirmed they used powder in this drink, and since I couldn't go back, I had to discard the drink. I still have a lot of Taro powder left that I ordered from Amazon. There is no reason ppl buy this artificial drink for $6.XX. If they had honestly described it in the menu or even posted accurate pictures, I wouldn't have come from far away to ruin my mood with this order. They need to fix their menu and stop lying. PS. Their tapioca pearls is one of my favorites, They have a wide selection of drinks to choose from which helps with people who like to have something different each time. When it comes to their matcha drinks, there's often really big clumps and a huge layer of unmixed matcha powder at the bottom that you basically end up chewing on as it comes up the straw with the drink ): The syrup is sometimes super thick and a few hours after drinking it, I'll end up with a sore throat which even lasts a day or two. After lunch, we were craving for something refreshing and Ding Tea in Hawthorne popped up on Yelp. Glad we stopped by! We were greeted with smiles and we were the only ones in the store so we got our drinks in a timely manner. They are conveniently located where Carl's Jr is on Hawthorne close by Costco on Rosecrans. The service was good, the staff was friendly and attentive. The ambiance was cool and clean. There was a sign on the bathroom door that no public restroom is available but I didn't look closer to see if that meant for public but open for customers.
