I found this place because of this app TooGoodToGo. My pick up was Sunday and app said it opens at 8am. Since I was not familiar to the place, I was early...only to see a sign on a sheet of paper that they will be open at 8:30 am that day. Not a biggie but due to an unfamiliar area for me, I just sat inside my care and waited. When the door opened, the smell of freshly baked bread was inviting. The shop though...well, maybe it's just too early in the day or not. I was the 3rd customer in line....1st lady maybe forgot to take her morning pills and was grumpy about not having her usual pastry available and was having this high pitched conversation with the store person for her wrong math calculation for her baked goods. The 2nd customer waited patiently and got his long list of order. Then when I heard the price total...yep! This bakery has pricey goods. My turn came and all I said was TooGoodToGo...their day old pastries that were sold for lesser price. Maybe waiting patiently paid off since the man gave me 2 bags containing 6 pastries (I only paid for a bag)! I heated one muffin when I got home...and they were good! I haven't been here in probably 10 years but I was in the area so thought I'd stop by. When I arrived no one else was inside but a worker promptly met me at the counter and was very welcoming friendly. The selection seemed limited, mostly croissants, and there was also a rack of freshly baked sourdough loafs and baguettes (I was very tempted!) I ended up getting 4 croissants - ham & cheese, guava cheese, blueberry cheese, and spinach feta. No macarons or other pastries / desserts like there used to be, which is fine. I noticed a small patio outside in the front which is cute and two small tables inside as well. I believe there's coffee too, but I didn't see a menu. Now the croissants were overall good - light, flakey, tasty. Would I get it again? Yes. But I wouldn't go out of my way. The filling was almost non-existent! Enough to have some kind of flavor but kinda felt more like a regular croissant. A few other reviews mention the same thing but then I looked at some pictures and the filling looks full. One of the last things I tried in 2024 was Le Pain Du Jour and it definitely left an impression. I was in the area and wanted to pick up a few pastries for my cousin and I to enjoy. Stopped by Le Pain Du Jour in the morning around 10 a.m. and there was one person dining in and the girl at the register was occupied making coffee but let me know she would be with me in a minute. I perused the pastries in the display case and also noticed a bag of day old pastries. The bag of day old pastries was $10 and had a variety of croissants, muffins and danishes. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant, a blueberry muffin and a blueberry scone. I tried the ham and cheese croissant and it was light, savory, and filling. I was expecting it to taste like a ham and cheese croissant I would get at a donut shop, but this one was definitely more elevated and didn't leave me with a greasy after taste at all.My cousin tried the blueberry scone and muffin and said they were really good and wanted to know where I got them from. So sorry to hear about he health issue although I'm not sure how that relates to the rest of the staff doing a simple update of day and hours of operation on each of your business platforms, if you guys are struggling these are simple fixes to an issue that has been there for over a year and will help boost sales and better customer service. 1. Have a phone set up and answer it and if your closed have a simple message saying your hours of operation and days 2. Fix your Uber eats 3. Fix your instagram hours and days of operations 4. Fix your yelp hours and operations days 5. Do the same on your site People find you on yelp drive there because it says one then once on site your closed. Meaning you're losing customers and sales. 1. Customs will be annoyed and not come back 2. Customers may think your permanently closed and went bankrupt They never pick up their phone so you don't know if they are open or closed or know what they have in stock so when you drive there 90% of the time they are out of everything. Their hours and open days don't match on yelp, instagram and google so you don't actually know when they are open. And their uber eats is always unavailable. So his is a great way to try and lose customers instead of expand sales read more

Bakery with croissants and a couple of other sweet treats. Came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning and it was empty. There is parking on the side of the building. No indoor seating but there are two outdoor tables outside. We had a chocolate croissant, chocolate almond croissant, ham and cheese croissant, and spinach and feta croissant. They were cold and there wasn't much filling inside, though the exterior looked large and fluffy. They do have coffee and matcha lattes available but they were on the too sweet side. Overall, I had higher hopes for this spot since I'd prefer to support a local spot, but I would temper your expectations. read more

We enjoyed the pastries from this small French Bakery that was reccomended to us. We unknowingly arrived way past closing hours and were disappointed that there appeared to be very few items left. The cashier arrived and explained that they were closed and he had mistakenly left the open sign lit. He offered the remaining pastries at half price which we found to be a great deal that allowed us to try more than we would have. The Almond pastry was delicious. Filled with Almond paste, the phylo dough topped with almonds was perfectly crisp when reheated. The blueberry and Apple pastries were enjoyed as well. I'm not a fan of an overly buttery flavor. And it is great to be able to buy the 8" baguettes. They are perfect for sandwiches. Also, there is a 3% surcharge for using a credit card. Came here on a Monday afternoon. Not busy at all but unfortunately they ran out of all the good breads and croissant. Still really enjoyed my ham and cheese croissant. The croissant are all made in the back of the bakery so you know it's legit and fresh. Tastes like the real thing in France! Will have to come back and try the spinach and feta croissant. The croissants are still amazing, but I went last week and found the baguette to be startlingly less crusty and more like a baguette you would find at Ralph's. I go here regularly and had never encountered the inconsistency that other reviewers have mentioned until now. A real bummer. It was as if someone else who had learned to bake at Pavilions made the baguettes that day. Also, the person working at the counter claimed they don't have any water (bottles or tap) to give customers. I found this to be stingy and disingenuous. We had biked over and hadn't brought our water bottles. I try to give this local business the benefit of the doubt and support it with regular business. At first, I thought maybe they were out of cups, which is unfortunate, but being a small business, I didn't want to hold it against them. I mean, this is the same place that has at times been out of napkins, and I've looked the other way. But I later saw them serve someone a coffee, which made me realize they were just being stingy! We were so parched that I would have ordered 3 coffees and told them to hold the coffee if I had known that they actually had cups and it was the cost of the cups that they were concerned about! Unfortunately, my patience for this place is wearing down. As much as I try to support small local businesses, I'll probably head to Philz next time for a better customer experience. Sigh. read more

My bestie and I hit up this little spot over the weekend. We were both pretty blown away! I'm not a fan of ham, but I wanted something savory so tried the ham and cheese croissant. It was delicious! Since my last review, I've stopped in a few more times and got to try out more of their baked goods. I stopped in yesterday, but it was too late and I left without buying anything. The person working told me that they'd have a bunch of Valentine items today, so I headed over. Unfortunately, their Valentine cookies weren't ready, so I was somewhat disappointed that I made the drive over again. However, I did buy some of their butter cookies, which were topped with a dot of raspberry jam. There were 5 in their display case, and I'm glad I got all of them! I was planning to share them with my husband, but they're so good that I might keep them all to myself. Also picked up a couple of lemon tarts, which I'm sure my husband will enjoy. I tried a sample and it was delicious. I couldn't leave without buying a loaf of my favorite bread, which has walnuts and raisins in it. They don't always have it, so it's like hitting the jackpot when I'm able to get it. It's perfect toasted with butter, and the nice young gentleman working today told me that it's especially good with butter and fig jam. Yum, I'll have to try that! Kathleen was nice enough to offer to special order Valentine cookies for me to pick up tomorrow. I may even get more of their butter cookies! Dropped by to pick up a few croissants. This place is not really a cafe but they offer some drinks too. Their baked goods are very good! The lady who was helping me pick was friendly and nice. There was no other customer at the time and the place does not really have the frills. However, I came here for the croissants and I came back satisfied! Their new menu, sesami honey croissant was delicious! The honey filling was in the center so I didn't really get to enjoy it untill I got to the center.... Still, it was tasty. The chocolate croissant, almond chocolate croissant, and plain croissant were all flakey and good too. Maybe not as crunchy as the authentic French croissants but still the portions are generous and the average quality is good. I could use the Yelp check-in discount. The store also had the monthly campaign so check to see if that offer may be better for you. Luckily it was not crowded but the parking lot is rather small. SO delicious. One of the better bakeries in all of LA. Everything we have had is awesome. My husband is a huge fan of the ham & cheese croissants - the cheese is literally melting to escape it. My daughter loves everything from the chocolate, guava to most recently the blueberry croissant. Plus, the sliced sourdough is a sure way to get kids or really anyone to eat a sandwich. I personally look forward to the blueberry scone (although not always available). Crunchy on the outside, light and fluffy inside.
