    Strawberry cake 8 inch
    Edward M.

    I called to Cake Kobo to order a Strawberry cake and I spoke with Mercedes. She was very nice and patient with me. She took my order even though she didn't work the bakery. I picked up the cake the following day and the lady at the bakery was also beautiful and nice. The customer service reminded me of the customer service in Japan. The cake was delicious. I knew it would be since it's from a Japanese bakery. They make it with a great soul. The taste was light and not heavy. The 34.99 it cost for the cake was worth every penny and I am definitely going again. Unfortunately I'm far from Japan but at least I'm down the street from Cake Kobo! Arigato Cake Kobo! Gochisousama deshita!!

    We Love this bakery shop! It is our favorite place to buy all kinds of cakes for birthday s or for all celebrations several We orders in advance so many times at Cake Kobo and this is our favorite place to buy cakes. We Love the strawberry white cake with light icing. They have also a lot of different type of different type of cakes like chocolate mouse, Tiramisu, cheese cake, plain chocolate and more yummy tasty pastries. . Their cakes are not that sweet compared to any other bakery. Their service are great with friendly helpful staff. The ambiance is clean and nice located inside Nijiya Market by Torrance on 182nd and Crenshaw Blvd. I recommend this place to everyone who love cakes, all kinds of pasties and bread. I Love this place!

    Cute little bakery to satisfy all your carb loving needs. I came here for the praised cream cake, which I found pretty good but not mind blowing. It was around $2 which is quite a steal compared to the other places nearby. Though I didn't love it, I found a multitude of other goodies that won't break the bank that look just as tasty. There's donuts and other things that I don't recall.. But that should be enough reason to get your grocery shopping on while acquiring some love haNdles. One other thing I got was the mochi bread. Its different from the Korean cuz it's more cheesy.. The cheesecake looks enticing and there were some matcha, banana, red bean flavors of various desserts ^__^ would come back again when I want a small sugar rush.

    Cake Kobo is the bakery in the Nijiya Market and I love their products! So far, I get the chocolate eclairs everytime, because they are so darn good, sold single and in multipacks, they are always fresh and perfectly baked, really like in France. Less than $2 each is also the best price I have come across in LA, I'll be back for more!

    Japanese style strawberry whipped cream cake was so delicious! Japanese style cakes are more light / airy, with soft whipped cream and light, fluffy cake layers...compare that to the American cakes which are more heavy, dense, and frosting so thick you can even slice it with a knife for their cakes and overly sweet.

    I bought a small sized cake for about $13. It was more than I wanted to pay, but I was there and after fighting for parking (there is a church or a kind of religious building next door having an event) I was like why not? I haven't seen a fruit cocktail/mixed fruit cake in ages so I got one! The frosting was pink with a light strawberry flavor and the cake was vanilla and not too moist or thick - almost like sponge cake. Not to be partial - but I love Asian bakeries because their desserts are light and not sugar-sickening. Like JJ's or King's you can eat a few slices without getting too full. Next time, I will try the pear cake! They were out today. =( This is in Nijiya market by their hot foods.

    ~~~Yuri's Favorite Cheesecake Is Here~~~ ~~~Oh & It's Her Brother's Fave Too!~~~ For those of you who can see my check-ins on Yelp, knows how much I love, Love, LOVE, the Soufflé Cheesecake from Cake Kobo. I'm not sure if this place still goes by the same name. It is located inside Nijiya Market in the City of Torrance, cross street of Van Ness Avenue and 182nd St. There's plenty of available parking spaces. They have a good selection of airy French Japanese Pastries but there's just something special about their cheesecake here. A combination of light, fluffy, dense, and not too sweet, with a bit of a gelatinous glaze on top! Mmm...so good!! So good that it's a must for one of my brothers and I to have it for our birthdays each year!! If you happen to be in my neighborhood, stop on by! I'm sure you won't be disappointed! Also, FYI -if you have a few additional items you'd like to purchase from Nijiya market, you can pay for them at the bakery register along with your dessert!
    Cake Kobo is located in Nijiya Market and has some pretty good prices on Desserts, Cakes, and Pastries. There is also a Bakery section and an island with warm, premade Fried Foods. Olivia Z. and I got a Napolean, Chocolate Eclair, and Strawberry Cream Puff for Dessert. I only tried the Eclair and Cream Puff. Both were exactly what I wanted. Sweet, creamy, and yummy. The full cakes looked tempting. If I needed a whole cake or fruit tart for a party, this would be an easy choice. The bakery has individual and loaves of baked breads. We came late in the day and some of the more popular items were clearly sold out. In the warm food section, they have Fried Chicken Kara-age, Tempura Fry Pancakes, Croquettes, Katsu, and such. We split a Regular Croquette and a Pumpkin Croquette. She liked the pumpkin most while I enjoyed the regular more. Either way, we got a great deal, because we were there at exactly 8:00 p.m. when all the premade Fried Foods go on sale for 50% off. If you live close by, still haven't figured out what is for dinner, and it is close to 8 p.m., there are probably fewer better deals than this 1/2 off one at Cake Kobo. You can check out at Cake Kobo or at the main Nijiya registers. We ended up buying three different times and each time the ladies behind the counter at Cake Kobo were especially patient and helpful. Cake Kobo is simple and convenient. Most days, that is exactly what you need.
    I had more than enough points to redeem a free pastry reward, and since I was just at nearby Del…read moreAmo Fashion Center, I figured why not use one of my free pastry rewards at this Paris Baguette? So first things first, be aware that this Paris Baguette is actually inside Hannam Chain Supermarket at Village Del Amo on the southwest corner of Torrance and Hawthorne. I didn't know it at the time, so I circumnavigated the plaza, looking for Paris Baguette signage like I usually do for the other standalone locations. After stopping my car somewhere in the plaza, I had to double-check the location to be inside the Hannam Chain Supermarket, which I had just literally passed by minutes ago. D'oh! lol I hadn't even heard of Hannam Chain Supermarket, so I took some time to explore the store even though Paris Baguette is literally closest to the entrance. The overall selection of baked goods kind of disappointed me because it felt like there were fewer choices of pastries here compared to the other locations I've been to before. However, oddly enough, they had more selections available! I think it's because they have time stamps listed on each pastry so that the pastries are inside the display case for no more than 4 hours. I thought the pastries would have remained good at least until the end of the day, so to hear of their 4 hour shelf life was a bit surprising to me. For the record, I've been to several other Paris Baguettes before, but this was the first time I noticed these time stamps. Even though the variety of pastries was not as much compared to the other standalone locations, I still had a difficult time deciding which pastry to get! However, I noticed a new flavor of a supreme croissant I hadn't seen before: pink velvet. I've heard of red velvet, but not pink, and presuming that this is a seasonal offering for Valentine's Day, I figured it would be the perfect opportunity to try one before that special day. They had other supreme croissant flavors like chocolate and salted caramel pretzel, but I'm sure those flavors will be offered for much longer than the pink velvet. I do remember trying a strawberry supreme croissant from the Cerritos location, so perhaps after Valentine's Day, that would take the place of the pink velvet. After grabbing one of two Pink Velvet Supreme Croissants left in the display case, I made my way around and to the register. Phone in hand, I had the Paris Baguette app pulled up to redeem my reward. Actually, a good part of me had thought that this location inside Hannam Chain wouldn't honor my reward because for Tous Les Jours, the locations inside Hmart wouldn't be eligible for earning points or redeeming rewards. Luckily, Paris Baguette is not Tous Les Jours, and I was able to redeem my reward with no trouble. The cashier who rang me up was pretty friendly as well. She placed my Pink Velvet Supreme Croissant in a small paper bag and wished me a good day. While there are a handful of tables inside the food hall portion of Hannam Chain, most were occupied by customers of other eateries, so I simply went outside to enjoy my free sweet treat. The pink velvet ruby chocolate that covered the top portion of the round croissant didn't have nearly as much flavor, though the Valentine's sprinkles on top did make for a nice touch at least. Also, the custard cream inside didn't taste like anything at all! It wasn't bad, but it makes me wonder how much more flavorful the salted caramel pretzel would have been. I'll be sure to get that on my next visit to a Paris Baguette! I got the croissant about 2.5 hours after they were prepared, so maybe they would have tasted better had I gone 2 hours earlier? Lastly, I'm kind of shocked that this is pretty much the only Paris Baguette location in the South Bay. With how expansive a city like Torrance is, you would think they'd have at least a second location elsewhere like in Hmart. Otherwise, the next closest location would be in Long Beach, which literally just opened at The Pike Outlets. Overall, it's not a bad Paris Baguette to go to, but if you live in the South Bay, you'd be better off downloading the 85C Bakery app over the Paris Baguette app as there are much more 85C locations in the area. Also, this Paris Baguette may not necessarily carry your favorite pastries here, so heed caution if you plan to go out of your way to visit this patisserie.
They close at 8:30 and I came in 2 hours before. The pastries leftover were scooched over and the labels did not match entirely what they were. It was difficult to know what I was picking up onto the tray. There was also a small fruit fly or gnat flying around inside the bakery case as well. The icing of the orange donut thing also got stuck to the box and we had to scrape it off... Out of 4 pastries none of them were really that good, it really made me not want to come back. I also ordered a plain iced coffee and the coffee quality is not good at all. Tastes like it was made from a Mr coffee machine at home. Service was friendly. She explained each pastry when we asked what we picked up. Small location inside the market. Parking in the plaza. Restrooms are located within the building.
