I got a Hong Kong Milk Tea here and was sorely disappointed. It was extremely sweet and didn't taste like tea at all. The boba wasn't good quality either. If it's still there, I don't recommend the claw machine; I did get a prize, but mine got stuck and I had to reach into the machine to get my prize out. read more

Nothing too special. Walked in, place was cute. Self serve kiosk. The person working didn't even greet us nor said anything after I said thank you. Definitely a place where you get your boba and go. Not too sure if I'd take another tea moment. I thought this place was just A-Ok. I know the trend is to move toward self service ordering kiosks, but the experience here felt a bit impersonal. The kiosk is at window, and behind is the enclosed kitchen. The lobby is cute and small, really aesthetic. It feels too small to really hangout though. There are also some toy machines and a claw machine in their lobby you can play while you wait for your drink. The service is really quick though. I ordered the taro matcha while my coworker got the Thai tea. My drink was okay but tasted more of the grainy taro and sweetness rather than matcha. The matcha quality was okay. I think next time I'll try a more classic drink like a milk tea to make an updated review. For now, I guess this is a decent spot if you're craving boba in the El Segundo area (since there aren't too many other options around). read more

Place is super cute aesthetically and they've got a great menu but it's not any good. It's very underwhelming, fine if you've got nowhere else to go but I wouldn't recommend it at all. The Jasmine Milk Tea is just fine but the boba sucks, it doesn't have any flavor and is chewy in a really bad way - the woman preparing it even struggled getting it out of the metal canister because it was so dry and clumpy. Food Coworkers and I decided to get some boba during lunchtime and found this cute little place. I love boba and I try out new boba places quite often, and I got a thai iced tea, because it is my usual go to and will determine if the boba place is good or not. The actual drink was pretty okay, good flavor, and just the right sweetness(i got less sweet), and not overly filled with ice too. The brown sugar boba it came with was a tad undercooked as it was a bit too chewy, but I didn't mind since I like it chewy. Service/Ambiance It's a really small place with no seating inside and a few benches on the outside. You order from a self-serve kiosk and wait for your order in the window. Interior is small with a walk up order window, additional order kiosk, and minimal seating. Lots of menu drink options, and with non dairy creamer used instead of milk. I ordered the taro milk- light ice, 50% sweet, and added boba. It was just ok... still felt there was a lot of ice, it was very sweet, and in the end most of the boba were clumped together. Too hard to sip the boba through the straw and I don't care for eating clumped boba. Nothing special... I think throwing in some chunks of taro would elevate it more. read more

Got the Jasmine Milk Tea and it was delicious. Right amount of sweetness just like I ordered. I got the brown sugar boba and it was super silky and chewy. Absolutely delicious drink & this place I didn't know was open 8 mo. ago shame on me! One of my top 3 boba spots moving forward, I'm glad it's close by my job. Such a cute place to have tea and dessert! Came here with friends on a weekend and sat in the back patio to enjoy our crepes and drinks. The green tea I got was refreshing, well-made, and I of course, enjoyed the rainbow jelly topping. The staff was very attentive and friendly to my party of 8. The selection and variety of of drinks was great, served my friends who were non-tea drinkers, too! They call your number out of the ordering window once its ready. Got to try this place as it's been on my Yelp list for a while, so I tried the mermaid lemonade, a non-tea drink, and got it less sweet as well. Unfortunately it tasted like there was absolutely NO sweetness whatsoever (which isn't what I wanted obviously), it just tasted like sour lemon water. Really disappointed. Small quirky little tea shop with (expensive) claw machines. The tea was good, not watered down or overly milky, the tea flavor comes through. The boba was slightly chewy on the outside, but slightly hard on the inside. I do not like it like that, boba should be chewy all through out, so this leads me to believe that I either had a bad batch, or that is how they cook their boba. As an avid boba lover that found herself stranded in El Segundo without wheels for the day, I walked what most would consider too far to get to the only boba shop in town. A lot of places have the self-ordering kiosks now and it was easy enough to place my order without having to ask for assistance, but what I didn't expect was for my entire visit to be so quiet. I was the only one inside as the store had just opened. I don't remember if there was music playing or not but I placed my order on the screen, printed out my receipt, used the bathroom, came back to pick up my drink at the window, and then left all without saying a word or hearing anyone else talk. As an extrovert, technological advancements that render human-to-human interaction obsolete comes with its downsides. I'm so used to catching up with my go-to boba lady in person back home whenever I visit, having her remember my usual order, and saying our goodbye see you again soon. While ordering at a kiosk helps with ensuring accuracy and saves the time of at least one person in the equation, not saying a word and not hearing anyone else say a word throughout the entire process is just a bit eerie for me personally. The boba itself was refreshing, I got the regular passion fruit iced tea with passion fruit popping boba at 75% sweetness. Popping boba is always too sweet for my personal liking but I like to get 75% sweetness with fruit teas just so it doesn't get watered down too much instead of my usual 50%. I like how some boba shops will have drink options that include a topping or two in the base price, even if it's not necessarily a better value. The bathroom was well-kept, I just wish there was WiFi even if there's not a much seating inside the store. I ended up revisiting again a few days later out of convenience, very much similar experience the second time around. read more

This is a review for A Tea Moment - located at 857 Via De La Paz, Los Angeles, CA 90272 This location never has air conditioning on for its employees, the main area where people order food is cooled but when you order at the window you're hit with hot air and employees who clearly look like they're working in an oven. The employees provide good service. Lastly this location closes really early, they close at about 6pm. There's always people outside trying to get Boba but find the business is closed. Has potential. Was in downtown El segundo and saw this ultra cute boba place and decided to give it a try. There is street parking which can be tough but the downtown space is pretty walkable. The space was very cute but not super clean or conducive for groups/chatting. They had these aesthetic seats which were Carved into the walls but seperate from the person next to you with a chunk of wall between, so they're really only good to sit alone. There are two small tables off to the side which can seat up to two people. You can order at a screen or with a human at the window. The staff were friendly but were unable to answer basic questions about the menu (does the milk tea have taro?) And it took a very long time to get our crepe. The boba was ok - kind of watery and didn't have very much boba in it at all, and the Oreo crepe was very very sweet- too sweet for me, but my partner enjoyed it. I think this place has a lot of potential if it was a little cleaner and the staff was trained a little better on menu items and efficiency. read more

Pretty drinks, but pretty is not a suitable replacement for tasty. A Tea Moment can be found on the corner of Franklin and Main, next to a cupcakery. Parking in the area wasn't too much trouble. The interior is aesthetically pleasing and Instagrammable. A few tables inside, but there's additional seating out front and on the patio behind the cafe. Simply walk up to the tablet on the wall to place your order. You then pick up your drinks at the window when they call out your name. Drink topping options are limited, but they have the staples. Disappointedly, the Matcha Strawberry Milk Tea was not layered correctly. The ratio was off for all three ingredients, with not enough sweetness from the strawberry puree and the creaminess from the milk to offset the chalkiness of the matcha. The brown sugar boba was not sweet, it was like chewing flavorless balls of tapioca. Some were either broken or oblong-shaped, not perfectly spherical as one might expect. Thai Tea was average, run-of-the-mill. Jasmine Milk Tea was on the sweeter side compared to how cafes make it, and I would recommend choosing a lower sugar level. But otherwise decent. While it is a nice addition to the neighborhood, it's not my cup of tea and the chances of me returning are slim to none. read more

I had a Golden Fruit Iced Tea **Decaf * with rainbow jelly. The drink was delicious and I didn't have any trouble sleeping that night. The store is small with a tiny seating area for two parties or three if you want to get cozy with the other patrons. Two things I stood out during this visit. 1) My friend spilled her drink trying to pop the straw into the top. They replaced her drink without any charge.
