Chicken Kabob, Feta pita, Basmati Rice, Gyros, Dolmades

Been to a couple of their locations and have visited a few times. Not an "all you care to eat" person but I make the exception for Dimassi's. The choices are overwhelming in a good way. Salad options were plentiful and ranged from Tabouli to Fatoush to Kale Caesar. Tried all three and enjoyed them all. Chicken Kabobs and Gyros were tasty and the Feta Pita and Basmati Rice hit the spot. Impressive Dessert spread also. Service was friendly and plates/tables were cleared in a timely manner. Overall, reasonable pricing for the offer and they manage to provide quality dishes despite being AYCTE.

After visiting the Middle East recently, I was missing the authentic manakeesh and falafels a lot and Dimassi's came through for me. The all you can eat buffet was delicious. Vegetarian dishes include a variety of salads, grilled veggies, cauliy, hummus, baba ghanoush, falafels, zatar manakeesha, pickles and more. The rose water drink was yum. Desserts were okish. The meal definitely fills you up for the day.

Walking by to a different restaurant but walked in to check it out. Needless to say we sat down and ate. Great selection of foods and servers were super helpful. Really enjoyed the girl meat and cold salads. Will come again if I'm ever back in Houston.

While it may appear not much has changed at this popular Dimassi's location, there's been a number of changes in the last year that requires this necessary update. The not-so-good: * New Owners and Management: Compared to the previous management, the service has gone down a notch. These are nice people still, but there are less smiles, more splatters along the buffet line, and the to-go ordering is significantly slower. * In a word: bathrooms. They were far better maintained before but there's still hope and a definite need for soap (#1). * Lamb shank: One of the staples of the Dimassi dinner experience was being able to order lamb shank over the buffet counter. It's still a thing, but a much smaller thing and a less tasty one at that. The very-good: * Updated sign: Before the antiquated sign was practically falling off. The new owners have a new illuminated sign that showcases the modern logo and is way more visible, especially at night. * All hail, kale: Salad was never the most exciting thing here and it still isn't. However, they do have a nice kale salad available at all times and it is refreshing and tasty. * Worthy of an update as well, but the baked chicken is still one of their best items. There was some initial drop off during the transition. but they've since resumed the crispy skin, juicy chunks of meat, and the fall-off-the-bone tenderness that I've come to love. I have always shown love to this location for its central convenience but also because they've always been consistent. I realize that it's not all roses when there is a changeover, but I'm still excited to continue patronizing them as they look to improve in the future. ___________ (#1) An unintentional bar. And not the soap kind either.

Amazing Mediterranean cuisine. The falafel was perfect. The meet is incredible.

This is the best Mediterranean buffet in town. It's clean and the food is consistent. It's always busy and it's definitely a place to go when you're near the south side of Houston. You will not be disappointed. We've probably eaten here 25 times. It's an amazing buffet of healthy and tasty food.

The food is excellent. Some items were not as hot as others but everything is excellent!

    Do it serve HALAL food?

During Ramadan they serve traditional food that usually isn't served on any other day. I would think that their meat would meet Halal standards but I am not Muslim. Best thing would be to call and ask. They're very friendly.

It had great Persian vibe including music played. Food and drinks: Very good selection of traditional dishes that were not westernised as in other Persian restaurants. The food was fresh, well seasoned and was full of flavours. The meats were moist, salad and starter tasted fresh. Pinch of sumac which was available on each table was a perfect addition to our dishes. Highly recommend hot Persian tea. Pricing: $$ - very affordable for the quality and quantity of foods received.

However, we were charged for it at the end. I understand the charge itself, but no one at the table had ordered it; they just set it on the table. It would have been nice if the staff had made it clear or asked if we wanted to add it to our meal. Perhaps there was a mix up with another table. Our experience was otherwise great, but double check the menu for what is complimentary and what isn't.

All 3 meals were really flavorful, good quality, really well-seasoned, very juicy and so delicious. The gyros and burger are without question imo the best in TX. Ekko's and Nick The Greek are 2nd n 3rd for Greek food for me. I always got the gyros sandwich as opposed to the plate before which is odd bc I always prefer meat plates over sandwich form in other foods like bbq, steak, etc. The meat pieces were all really tasty and had some slight char to them too. The taziki sauce is always cold, creamy in feel and refreshing with a good yogurt aroma to it. It's a great bonus and the gyros didn't even need it tbh. The tomatoes were nicely refreshing and the exotic, cool center dolma is always a little treat with meals here. The rice and chunky lemon potatoes with my meals were always mild but still great in texture and prep. As I said before; from my experiences in every single Greek cafe, if the taziki sauce is good, the gyros will be too. It's a solid symptom and indicator imo. As for the burger, very rarely are burger places only in TX actually any good for the past 15 years. So many are just average or below lacking seasoning or a great overall flavor. Niko Niko's, Goode Company Hamburgers and TX Hamburger Palace are my top 3 in that order for it. Each different too. The brioche buns were just the right thickness and very soft to make the beef patty stick out well. The patty was so nice in charbroiled taste, saltiness, richness, beefiness and tender in every bite. A good burger doesn't need much in toppings, but cool, refreshing, tomatoes are a must for me and pickles add some tangy crunch too. For steak rare, but for a burger medium to medium rare. I had never seen or heard of their Greek Spaghetti n Meat Sauce before. This was like a Greek Bolognese with a lot of love in its flavor. The noodles were drained, very moist and so soft. I don't like too much cheese, so I took some off, but still like some. The meat sauce gravy itself was really flavorful, savory, fatty enough and had that subtle sweet, warm spice aroma you get in the Greek lasagna. I like to get dessert here sometimes when I have extra room, bc they have some great options like their galaktobourreko, chocolate ganache cake, etc. The service was very welcoming, friendly and efficient on these visits.

The place is new but not recently new, so I was impress that they were still attracting a crowd. The place was packed and busy but the host was still able to seat us immediately. With reservation, of course. Our seat was a banquet seating and when the host directed us to our table, we notice the party seated next to our table had placed all their personal belongings on our seats. We had to ask the host to ask them to remove their personals so that we can sit down. I felt that the host should have done that and not upon our request. Our server was Keamogetswe and she jumped right into explaining the menu since it was our first time. I am used to ordering drinks first and while waiting for our drinks, explore the food menu. That way, we can ask questions about any item we were unfamiliar with on the menu. Anyways, we ordered our food and they came out very fast. For starters, we had the grilled shrimp which was just two shrimps. They were not prawns so the size of the two shrimps for $18 was not worth it to me. We also tried the Rumi's wings. They were average to me. Nothing to brag about. For the main course, we wanted to try several dishes and settle for a family style meal. We had the braised lamb shank, chicken kabob and the Koobideh Kabob. Since all plates came with rice, Keamogetswe suggest we try different rice options which was a great suggestion. So for the rice, we had the Adas, the Baghali and the Shirin. I have to admit that the braised lamb was amazing. The stew it sat in was very flavorful and the meat melted off the bone it came with. The Koobideh was also another favorite of mine. Both, I highly recommend everyone to try. And my favorite rice was the Shirin. As we moved on to dessert, we had the burnt honey & pistachio cake and the persian ice cream sandwich. Both taste great but the persian ice cream sandwich itself was vanilla wafer. Different but it made it easier to eat with your fingers. The weird thing was when the dessert was served to us, so was the check. I am used to us eating dessert or just starting to enjoy dessert before being handed the check. And when they do hand me the check, they would mention that it was no rush and when I am ready to take care of it. But that didn't happen and I decided to get it out of the way so I can just enjoy the dessert. As we were conversing and finishing our drinks, they started to clear our table and even picked up the signed check or tab. It felt like they were hinting us to get up. I feel that if there was a time frame to dine with them, they should have made us aware of it before dinner or when we made reservation like how Toca Madera does. So that made me feel uncomfortable. But this could just be me.
