Chicken Feet/Sticky Rice (5/5)
Tony U.

Located just across the street from the Atlantis Casino parking lot, Dim Sum Hut is an oasis for Bay Areans desperately craving dim sum. Although the selection is not extensive here, I can say as of today, 9/3/24, every dim sum item I ordered was very good. The is a clean small space if you'd like to eat there or you can walk up and order to go and they make it right there seemingly from scratch. Had all of the following Dim Sum items (all very good): Chicken Feet Sticky Rice in lotus leaf Pork Shu Mai Ha Gow (shrimp dumpling) Would definitely come here again if in Reno and craving dim sum.

First time Nice little Restuarant Thoroughly enjoyed their fried rice; I would've ordered two more - one each for breakfast, lunch and dinner Best we've tasted up here in Northern NV Tea, Fried spareribs and BBQ buns good Siu Mai okay

Small and quaint place located on the Moana street side of the Asian mart. My friend was curious about this place so we went for a lunch date. It wasn't busy and the lady behind the counter helped take our orders. She was super polite and took care of us with a smile. It definitely had a mom and pop feel to it, which I love. We ordered their dim sum platter, egg rolls, and a boba drink. The food came out quick and steaming hot. My favorites were the chicken and mushroom siu mai and the boba drink. I haven't seen that type of dim sum elsewhere and it was full of flavor! The drink was so pretty and the boba added an extra touch to the sweetness. My daughter loved it! We will probably return again soon since it is in the same parking lot as bowling and the Asian mart, which is some of our favorite places to visit :)

Get sum Dim Sum! When this place popped up on our search for lunch, we quickly ran across town to give it a try. Small clean place with friendly service that was quick to help us out with the menu we ordered up the Dim Sum Platter and a couple of drinks. Dim Sum Platter came with a perfect portion for two: Shrimp Har Gow Pork Siu Mai Chicken Siu Mai BBQ Pork Bun Pot Sticker Sesame Ball Our drinks of choice were for moi Pink Rose Sparkling Soda and for the hubby Super Fruit Tea, both hand-made and deLISH!! Location was easy to find as it is right on Moana next to the massage place before on the right-hand side of the street before you get to Virginia. Nice staff, yummyyy food and glad we have Dim Sum in Reno!!

This place is a hole in the wall kinda place with the interior of a little girl's bedroom. The interior has painted tulips, makeshift clouds and cute wall stickers. The vibe is very peaceful. They obviously sell dumplings, but also potstickers, boba and rice dishes. But it seems like their menu changes periodically. I had the siu mai (pork with shrimp meat), teriyaki chicken, dark soy sauce chicken wings and char siu bun. Everything was delicious, but my favorite were the dark soy sauce chicken wings. It kind of tasted like Filipino adobo but with Chinese spices. The prices are very reasonable, but the portion sizes are more suited to lunch. I can't wait to return and try more dishes!

I have been wanting to experience this dim sum place. I finally got the chance when I was in the area. I've been craving chicken feet since there is s lack of that in Reno. I met this wonderful lady that worked there and I could tell the food was going to be good, I just got a good vibe when I came in. The best part was I could order in Cantonese, I have a terrible time going to a Chinese restaurant and trying to order off the menu when no one speaks the language. I ordered the chicken feet and some pork siu mai. The chicken feet was great and some of the largest I have had. The siu mai was passable, not the best I have had, the pork was too overly ground for my liking. I'm glad I have a restaurant to satisfy my chicken feet cravings in Reno.

I really wanted to love this place because I miss having amazing dim sum regularly, but I'm not sure how often I'll visit. The wait was atrocious. We ordered in person and we're told it would be 20 mins. After about 40 minutes opted to take our food to go, then waited another 10 minutes. Maybe they'll pick up the pace as they settle in. The dumplings were good, but not great. I'm not sure anything was made in house honestly. The pork was a bit tough, the dumpling wrappings all too thick, the fillings under seasoned. If you're having a craving, it'll do if you plan ahead and call ahead for the wait, but I'm still on the hunt for good dim sum in Reno!

Nice place.

Some new-ish Dim sum places have opened up. My wife and I love us some good authentic Dim Sum. And from what I can tell, this place is doing everything in house by hand. We stopped in one night 2 minutes before they closed so we decided to come back another day and get something else. I am glad we came back just a few days later. The food was great! They also have a bunch of unique tea flavors. My wife ordered up a Pea Flower Tea of some sort and it was so good I almost stole it from her, but I stuck with my bottle of water. We ordered up... Shrimp Har Gow Pork Siu Mai Brown Sugar Bun Potstickers Meatballs Seasame Balls The pricing for two ended up being around $60 total. Not horrible, but not as cheap as Dim Sum can be in bigger cities with a greater amount of turnover. The Sesame Balls were probably the only thing that didn't have a really unique flavor profile. The best thing of what we ordered was definitely the meatballs. The Shrimp Har Gow was so very very good though...so maybe it might be a toss up now that I think about it. Not "fishy" at all but just shrimpy goodness. The Brown Sugar bun was really unique and fun. A strange umami flavor that I just haven't experienced before. We will go back. And I will get my own Tea! I look forward to the business growing and adding more to the menu.

FINALLY! Another option for Dim Sum in this area! This is a cuisine that has been sorely lacking in the Reno food scene. I'm a HUGE fan of Dim Sum, having eaten some of the best in numerous restaurants in and out of the best "Chinatown" enclaves around the country...from San Francisco to New York to Seattle to Los Angeles and beyond. I wasn't disappointed...the food was delicious. Not quite 5 stars, but they're new and I expect the quality to improve as they "get their feet under them". It's a small space with a few low and high tables to sit at. Sparsely decorated, but it still felt welcoming. Definitely designed for take-out as much for dine-in, but still comfortable. A tv next to the counter had the news on it with the sound on...nope...I don't go to a restaurant to be barraged by news...I go to get a respite from the rest of the world and enjoy food. I suggested to the chef/owner that they put some music on to enhance the atmosphere. She said they hadn't yet worked out putting a system in to do that. I suggested that she just turn the tv to a music channel since every "cable" service offers music channels and she said she'll do that starting the next day...after she has her counter guy show her how to do that...LOL... I came by after work just before they closed at 7pm, so they just turned the tv off...I was happy for that. You order your food at the counter and the guy that serves as the cashier also brought the food out to my table. I ordered a few items and was pleased with my choices: #18 Egg Rolls 4pc [$6.99] Crispy and hot straight out of the fryer. There's no description of the ingredients on the menu, but I didn't care what was in it. It was a great balance of flavors and texture. Some Chinese hot mustard (straight out of the packet!) added just the right "zing" for my palate. #10 Fried Pork Spareribs w/Garlic [$11.99] Well over a dozen little nuggets of deliciousness, deep fried to a perfect crispy exterior with a juicy, tender interior surrounding the small bones. The touch of garlic that permeated the dish was a nice taste treat. I had seen previous reviews that had shown their extra spicy sauce condiment, so I asked for it instead of using what I assumed was a sweet & sour dipping sauce that came with the dish...and boy oh boy, did the spicy sauce have a great kick! Great complement to this entreé. #1 Shrimp Har Gow 4 pc [$7.99] Delicate dumplings that just melted in my mouth. Great texture and outstanding mouth feel that made me smile in satisfaction. Served with a medium hot chile dipping sauce that paired well with the flavors. #2 Siu Mai -Pork w/Shrimp 4 pc [$7.99] Siu Mai are a benchmark dish for me that enables me to gauge just how good a Dim Sum restaurant really is. If they're done right, then I'm usually assured that everything else will be good. I love a good Siu Mai...and this was definitely good! These were beautifully constructed packages of flavor with great texture. I utilized the chile dipping sauce on these, as well. The fact that they use paper plates and plastic utensils for dine-in service is immaterial. It's not about the vessel, it's about the food. I've seen mixed reviews debating whether the Dim Sum is made fresh or if it's frozen. I couldn't care less...or tell the difference...I just enjoyed the food...and that's the only judgement that matters! Drop by to check it out...I'll be going by again to sample more of their dishes...they all look great.

Shopping around the corner and saw some people come out! Sign displayed "open".. The pork with shrimp siu mai wasn't available so I got the chicken and mushroom.. Also ordered the char siu buns.. I'm really glad our town is getting more Asian food choices.. Even though I am eating at a steakhouse in four hours, I'll do what I can to welcome a business-.. lol! Good thing I get hungry every 4 hours! $7.99 and $6.99 fir each and it is a little closer to me.. Okay.. I just had to try the siu mai.. omg! Super soft and tasty! I actually like the chicken and mushroom better than pork. Took a bite of the char siu bun and it was so fluffy and just enough meat! Can't wait for the second trip back! It was nice to see three more customers come in after me..

Today I enjoyed Pork & Veggie steamed buns, BBQ Pork Buns, Fried Spare Ribs and Veggie Egg Rolls. All were good, although I like the egg rolls best. Limited menu so my friend and I chose two items each and then we shared, so you get to taste more things I'm pretty sure I'll go back to try a few of the other items....the green tea sticky rice cakes looked pretty good. And the Beef and Chicken Sui Mai looked good too No conventional soft drinks so we opted for the Pink Rose Sparkling Soda .. quite tasty, but really sweet The place is clean and comfortable and the one person working there was pleasant and helpful Hopefully when they're opened for awhile, they'll add a few more items to the menu.

When I got there about 20 minutes later, everything was ready to go. It was quick and easy, in and out with no hassle. Once I got home, everyone dug in. Overall, the food was good. The wontons and the Mongolian beef were the standouts for sure. The fried rice was decent, but it felt a little bland compared to everything else. This isn't authentic Chinese food by any means. It's definitely more American-style Chinese takeout, but sometimes that's exactly what you're in the mood for. The buy one get one deals make it even more worth it. The owners did an outstanding job of timing the dishes and engaging with our group while also taking care of other diners including non event patrons getting getting take-out and inhouse menu dining.
