Saw lots of people eating breakfast-everything looked so good! One of my friends had a mimosa. I had a burger and yummy skinny fries. My son had a chicken fried steak and there was so much food that he took home leftovers and he told me he got 2 more meals out of that! Nothing too special. Host forgot to tell server I was there so it took longer than usual to get help; but I didn't mind too much. I ordered the Cinnamon Toast Crunch French toast. It's literally just their regular French toast with a bunch of cinnamon toast cereal on top. I thought at least the French toast would have cinnamon in it or something but it didn't have any spices. Spent the day in Tulsa and decided to check out Dilly Diner with my sons. The food and the service was great. We all had the pancakes which were perfectly made and tasty. Weekend brunch is busy and reservations are not accepted (although we've been given contradictory information about weekend reservations), but DD is worth the wait. The service is not always super speedy, so don't be in a rush. The menu prices are on point, and the serving sizes are no joke! We love the cinnamon rolls (HUGE!), biscuits (also HUGE!), french toast and chicken and waffles. There are many savory options too, but the sweet treats are a must-try. Our first time in. First glance was good. we had the sausage frittata and Belgian waffle with bourbon sauce and bananas. Coffee was really good strong but no bitter taste. However, my coffee cup had crusted stuff on the edge. A large group came in and our service ended. After about 15 min, our food was brought by someone other than our waitress so he didn't know who ordered what. The bourbon sauce and bananas were not on the waffle. He took it back and returned with the sauce and bananas but also a large amount of walnuts, which my husband is allergic to. There was no mention on menu of walnuts. We asked him to send our waitress to address my dirty coffee cup. we received a new cup and asked for a extra plate and when we received it, it also had stuff on it. Cute and a little quirky, with incredibly friendly staff, that really hustled to make sure everyone is comfortable and enjoying their experience. All I wanted when I visited Tulsa was breakfast. Everyone I asked told me Dilly. So I felt it was my duty to check this place out. The wait was forever! And they crossed our names off the list while we stood next to the door outside (because it was a zoo inside) and we didn't hear them. Ugh! We ordered croque madam and bananas foster french toast. The food took a while to come but it was beautiful when it came out. The croque madam was so good and we opted for our eggs over medium instead of over easy and they were cooked to perfection. This dish was one of my favorite meals in my entire visit. The French toast however was another story, it was dry. The worst part is bananas foster is cooked with it's sauce however these were just large chunks or raw banana with caramel sauce on top. No part of this was good, I was so excited to try it because brioche is life but they should just call it raw banana instead of lying. It was Saturday around 4 in the afternoon and it was a beautiful 67 degrees!  We wanted a relaxed patio, a couple drinks and some comfort food.  Dilly Diner seemed like a great choice.  The diner looked to be maybe 25% full. We waited a few minutes to be greeted at the host stand.  During that time I perused the bakery counter. Some delicious looking sweet treats are displayed. We ordered the Brioche French Toast and the Breakfast Burrito w/breakfast potatoes. While the potatoes were good, the burrito wasn't anything special. And the French toast slices were so thick, it didn't soak up the batter, leaving bread with syrup as my entree. My coffee was definitely from the bottom of the pot and the carbonation was off in the drink machine. I ate a spicy cherry pepper bacon cheeseburger with shoestring potato fries. I believe the fries might have been fresh cut. They were delicious. I was a little bummed that there weren't any appetizers on the menu. On a positive note, they had a good variety of items that would work for those who are vegetarian. Dilly Diner has the best breakfast potatoes in Tulsa. There are not any frills, but they always have just the right amount of flavor and crisp. Today I tried the avocado toast (minus the cheese to make it vegan), and it was delightful. I will definitely order it again! I also appreciate that Dilly Diner can make any of their specialty coffee drinks with soy milk, almond milk, or coconut milk. I can't rate this eating establishment due to the fact I didn't eat there. I walked in at 2:20 and asked the Hostess what time did they close. The hostess answered, 3:00. I was fortunate to get a parking place in front, and quickly paid the meter, returning to the cafe in less than 5 minutes.
