So today I racked up on clothes that I needed and was blessed to be at the right place at the right time. I seldom frequent the this store but after today, I'll be sure to come more often. There was a store wide sale on almost everything, like $14.99 for cardigan jackets and $7.99 for pants and blouses. While shopping, a staff member walked up to me and said, we're now marking everything down. Items that are $14.99 will be $7.99 and items that are $7.99 will be $4.99. I was like ma'am, say less. I went all over the store looking for clothes, tried them on and bought them all. I got over a $900 retail value of clothes for $147. As you know, their clothes are excellent quality and stylish. This clearance center is now on my must stop list during vacation. This trip every item I purchased was $7.99. That worked out to about 88% off. They have a large selection of men's and women's clothing. I didn't look at the children's section. You may have to ask because some of the items are spaced apart and it took me a while to find my size. They also have shoes and other items. Plan about 90 minutes if it isn't busy or 2 hours if there is a wait for the fitting room. read more

2.5 stars, I guess. I drove out from the city to look for shoes here. I definitely would not recommend pinning any hopes on finding shoes at this place, unless you are looking for dress shoes. The place is huge and they have tons of clothes, but I found everything to be ugly, drab, and homogenous. This is not a good place for people who are in touch with fashion or are concerned with having an individual look. Well, I'd been itching to check out the Dillards Clearance Center in Kenner, LA on a recent trip to New Orleans. I generally pop in any DCC if I'm able. I so enjoy doing this while traveling since the one near my hometown closed. I must say while meandering through the store it wasn't very impressive at all, not compared to others I've visited. I'm a clothes & shoe-a-holic so sassy shoes & clothes soothe my soul, but not so much this location...while the shoe selection was so-so, I did see a couple of pairs that were calling my name, but leave it to Beaver, they weren't my size. How disheartening! I did manage to grab 2 pair & some suede boots (who doesn't love suede?). I Thank GOD for those 3!!! I shifted over to the clothing area & looked & looked & looked some more. I found nothing which was disappointing. I realize different areas of the country receive different things & some are not much to write home about. Ordinarily in the Midwest I leave loaded with bags, but my Southern neighbors are lacking. Just saying, just my experience. Maybe someone else will have a better one...have at it! read more

Talk about a penny pincher's heaven! This is where Dillard's clothes go and get a second life. I had never heard of this place when David took me and this is nothing like regular Dillard's. This is like a Dillard's warehouse full of discounted clothes that didn't sell in their main stores. There is rack after rack of all types of clothes for men and women including highly discounted dresses and gowns. Really- if you need a fancy gown for any event such as a Mardi Gras ball or New Years Eve, this is the place to come. I saw some dresses that were originally $300 marked down to $70! This store is pretty "no frills" and you have to take the time to sift through the racks in order to find something you like. It's all organized by size, but that's about it. You could easily spend and entire afternoon looking through racks and picking out deals, and if I had been on the hunt for something, that's exactly what I would have done. I didn't buy anything this time, but this store is definitely on my radar for the next time I need a fancy outfit at a low price. read more

I just recently went with my youngest daughter to go shopping for her 7th grade graduation ceremony. That was a piece of cake. There was probably 8000 dresses in her size , all organized by color. Those dresses were reduced 65%. Thats not the awesome part. That was buy 1 dress get 3 free!!! Insane. So Z made out like a bandit and I was able to sneak me a new shirt into the mix without breaking the bank. On all holidays, they have special additional discounts , so that is when you would want to go. 4th of July weekend "could" have maybe 80% off!! I been there for it before so I could happen. The catch is, you are gonna have to dig tho. There is so much clothing that it's tightly packed on the racks. Perhaps, some of the blame lies on me thinking that a "clearance center" has customer service in mind. I get it, cheap stuff at cheap prices, but I find it a waste of my time to have a website advertising items that are nowhere to be found in the building. Nothing on the site says that items have to be ordered for them to be available and I am quite unwilling to buy work boots site unseen. On my visit today for a specific item I was shocked to see three tables labeled "men's shoes" that had none of the advertised items. Today I was looking to buy a pair of Doc Martin work boots ($120-$150) and also noticed Dillard's was also advertising Sanuk shoes and I intended to purchase a pair of those ($45-$65) also. But, after driving 40 minutes I found that Dillard's would rather a customer search for what they wanted and not finding that perhaps, they would mill about and find other items they might like. This watered down "bait and switch" might work on some people, but it only irritates me. My only recourse is to pledge to NEVER spend a dime at this company and to write this review of how poorly the store and website are synced. After that, all I can do is tell anyone who asks how poor I find Dillard's customer service. UPDATE: After writing this review and sending a similar email directly to Dillards I have received no reply. I can only take that to mean they don't mind losing out on $200 + in sales and they find their business model of promising more and delivering less means more than repeat customers. read more

Went to look for some prom dresses. My daughter saw two that she really liked. They both were coming apart at the seams!! One dress was $75.00, the one she really liked. It was coming apart at 2 of the seamen and the material on the straps were coming off as well. The lady that worked in the dressing room was really nice. She thought the dress should have been marked down plus they would give at least 10% off because of the condition of the dress. She took us to the person to check on the dress and we were told that the Manager has informed them not to give anything off. Since the dress was marked down to $35.99 from $75.00 they weren't taking anything off. She said their manager told them that it's a clearance store and we have a choice to either purchase the dress or go somewhere else. Of course the manager. I told the cashier I understand the dress was marked down but you have other dresses did the same price that isn't damaged. She just kept repeating what her manager told them. , I think her name was Jackie wasn't there today but this is what she told them in their meeting!!! Talk about a poor excuse of a manager!! The second dress has the zipper coming apart from the seam and the material had a run in the same spot. Both dresses would have required a seamstress to fix the dresses so that would have been an additional cost. Needless to say, we left both of the dresses in the store!! My daughter was very disappointed but that manager needs some managerial training on customer support!! Clearance center doesn't mean salvage center!!! Great deals but be prepared to dig deep- both into the racks and piles of goods and also into your own patience. Be prepared and you'll love it. Expect it to be easy and you'll be irritated. For instance: 1. Don't bring your big purse because you can't bring it into the fitting room and unless you have someone to hold it you're either leaving it with the attendant (who is crazy busy getting stuff back out in the floor and not being paid to watch your purse) or you're trying stuff on out in the store. 2. There is a policy that if there's not a price tag on your item, they will not sell it to you. They'll take you number and say they'll have the manager call you - we've done this twice and no one has ever called. So OUR new policy is that if there's not a price tag on it, we just leave it on the rack. 3. Watch out for damage. Yes, it's a clearance center, but you may find full rips in the item you're looking at. Check your seams and buttons and zippers and every inch. Once you buy it, it's yours. Forever. If they could get everything just a little tighter, this would be some 5 star bargain shopping. As it is, it's just a little too loosey goosey for me to ever really want to go here or to go here looking for something in particular. The shoe section is phenomenal - I've gotten $30 Doc Martens and $17 Uggs. read more

Clean with good prices. The fitting room staff is as nice as they can be. The clothing is often damaged so you have to look closely when trying things on. There is a no returns or exchanges policy. The cashiers are always rather rude to me and in a hurry to get me out. Also, be prepared to get screamed at to find the exit rather aggressively 10 minutes before close, and to hear "we are closing" announcements every 2 minutes from 30 minutes before closing until ten minutes before when they literally come through screaming at each individual person and calling them out. It's more than a little obnoxious. read more

Then I am sure you don't mind paying upwards of $150 for a cocktail dress. If you want a great quality dress for $25, then you are going to have to cut back on fancy things like organization and customer service and rough it over at the Dillards Clearance center. I like nice things, but I am ballin' on a budget. What I mean by organization: They do their best. They have it organized by section such as tops/dresses/junior dresses/ect. ect. Then they go ahead and break it down by size. This is not really maintained. I never saw anyone going through the racks and organizing anything. I saw many larges on the small rack and many mediums on the large rack. If this sort of shopping gives you anxiety I recommend you stay far away. Shopping here is really a crap shoot. What I mean by customer service: Well, to put it bluntly, there isn't any. I am not saying that the employees are rude, because they are quite the contrary. There is someone tending the fitting rooms and someone working the registers and that is it. You will not find a loyal subject to help you find something in your size. You are on your own, sista! I recommend going here when you don't really need anything. The seemingly endless racks can be overwhelming. My best hauls are when I come just because I need a few pieces to freshen up my closet. I take my time and am able to sift through everything. Since I have started coming here, I find it hard to shop anywhere else. Even Walmart clothes look expensive to me. This place is awesome, as long as you set aside a large chunk of time in a day towards being there and don't mind looking through endless racks. Nothing is very organized, except for your basic "ladies" or "shoes" sections. Nobody is really walking around talking to customers; it's just not that type of experience. What you do find are awesome deals on all of your favorite brands that Dillard's carries. I have been to the regular Dillard's one week and seen the same dress 70% off at this Dillard's. You know the quality of the clothes are good and they are all of the brands you know and love. If you are a man or have any men in your life, this is your store. This store is my guilty pleasure. I've scored many $100 dresses for $30 or less here. I do wish, however, that their hours were better. I think some nights they close at 6 or 7 and I've driven all the way out there on some days and the whole store was closed. I had looked at the Google pictures and saw a few sale signs that impressed me, so I went to see for myself. The signs showed things like buy one get two free. There were no sales like that. Most of the things were 65% off of the original sale price and the least I saw was about $50. There were some shirts and bottoms that were $19.99. There were some things a few dollars less. We were happy to learn that there was a Dillards near our hotel on our recent visit to New Orleans. Dillards was a favorite store when we lived in Des Moines, IA and we have missed it ever since we moved to Southern California several years ago. Although Dillards does have online shopping available, we have found the selection and prices are not as good as those found in their stores. Needless to say, we did do a little shopping there and found some attractive, reasonably priced clothes, especially among some of their house brands. My first experience at this shop was wonderful. I was excited to get so much for my money. It's really fun to shop here! My second experience was Hella fun until I met Belinda. Belinda was a wicked witch with a total attitude monitoring the dressing rooms like it was her sacred territory. I met her when I peeked around the corner to find someone to open a room for me. She came from behind me like a lion ambushing a tiny doe and said EXCUSE ME WHAT ARE YOU DOING??? As I replied sorry, I'm just looking to see if you were around the corner. She said WE ARE CIVILIZED HERE AND YOU NEED TO STAND BEHIND THE SIGN! I walked back to the sign and she said THAT'S NOT WHERE YOU STAND CAN'T YOU READ?? In which she proceeded to make me go to the other side of the sign. I stood there as about five people walked out of the dressing rooms as I was the only one standing in line and she refused to get me a room for quite some time. After I was finally placed in a dressing room I could overhear Belinda opening the door to the lady's dressing room next to me just to fuss at her for not putting her number on the outside of the door. Greatest place ever! The clothing is all brand new, but at huge discounts. When Dillard's cannot sell things in store they mark it down 30% then 40% then 70%. Whatever is left comes to this store. Last time I was there they had everything marked an additional 50% off. I got a brand new Michael Kors jacket that ussually runs around $250 for $30.
