Long time costumer and I always get cute stuff. Friendliness is always given when I make purchases, but the very very few times I made a return, I felt like a burden and received a very unwelcome attitude by the lady helping me at the register. Oh no! I'm giving 5 (FIVE) stars (*****) to a chain department store! What's the world coming to!! Well first, it was clean. Even the bathroom. Then I can take 10 items in the dressing room and they didn't act like a was a criminal waiting to happen like some stores. They had a good selection of clothes. They were a little pricier than the competition but not really and they were excellent brands. Of course they have to put candy up by the checkouts, which ALMOST trapped me, but I resisted and won. Ok, so I'm cheap! There, I've said it! Hehe thankfully Marshall's is there to save the day! You can find name brand items for a discounted price which is fantastic bc I like a good deal! I think they have a substantial shoe selection which is awesome! And they keep this store pretty neat and organized which I truly appreciate. I try to come in here when I know what I'm getting bc it can be a little overwhelming. Especially since they have a HomeGoods store attached now. Which, btw HimeGoods has great housewares! I got a puzzle for one of my gf's, some photo albums as Christmas presents from that area! Recently I also got some wicker baskets with covers. They were nesting and fit within each other which was perfect! One thing I will say though is that when you see something you like I highly recommend that you get it then and there bc it may not be there when you get back. Another section that I really like are the purses! One of my weaknesses! Hehe oh, and they have some good workout clothes as well. And I usually look at the home stuff for decorative items. Previous reviews have hit the nail on the head with their statements. It really is a hit or a miss. Sometimes it is really good, you will hit it early in the day when everything has been straightened, and sometimes it looks like a tornado has ripped through the place. The sales can be really good. I can never find shoes I like in my size. The clothes are sometimes priced correctly. Some of the shelves are too high, and it can be difficult to see what is on them, let alone reach something to look at it and possibly buy. The day I came, I was looking for rain boots, and though they did have some for small children, there were none for adult women. I am always on the look out for saddle oxfords, but am disappointed they have none here. I will say that it is always nice to look at their home décor, as there is often a gem (if you can reach the item in question) to be had. The holiday items are always in stock and out on the merchandise tables and rotate through for the holidays. It is a frustrating experience in the end. read more

Yikes. It's a split here between really good and really bad. The really good: they were having a big sale on home decor, which I happened to be in the market for. They also had my hair products that i buy here because they are super cheap salon-like brands and I get to save a lot of money. The really bad- disorganization, this place is a mess. I couldn't find anyone to help me get something specific that was on a high shelf, so they lost out on a $40 sale. Once I went to check out, the price of some hair products I bought rang up more than what it was marked. The cashier went to go check it out and came back and told me it had been labeled wrong and the higher price was the correct one. At that point i just bought it, because I had been in line for at least 10 minutes. I know I should have walked out, but I didn't want to think I had completely wasted my time. All in all this frustrating experience guaranteed that I will shop elsewhere next time. read more

I love that they have added a Home-goods inside of this Marshall's. It's not as big as a stand alone Home-goods but there are many more options than before. If you are willing to dig through the racks of clothes there are always bargains to be found. Parking is plentiful since it is in a shopping center. The weekend is crowded with long line waits and staff seems few on the weekends. Today there was no wait in line and there were plenty of Helpful staff!!! read more

I never go here when I am shopping for something specific, but always end up buying a few things. I love looking though the home goods section because I can always find something I like, great for odd and ends. They also started to get more electronic accessories in stock for iphone, ipad, laptops, ect. I have never had much luck on shoes and clothing. I don't have much patients for that. read more

Staff with bad attitudes! Was grabbing a lipstick and was walking to go pay for it and one the staff stopped me and asked 'are you going to buy that lipstick?' With the most disgusting attitude. I almost asked 'well are you going to buy it for me?' Not sure why she came at me with such a bad attitude but i dropped the lipstick and left the store entirely. Don't come here, their staff will question your entire life and ask if you wipe your ass when you go to the bathroom too. These employees are useless for retail. I've placed a complaint to corporate as well. No customer should be treated this poorly. read more

Found an item with no price. Brought it to a manager. He couldn't find a price. Called another store. Couldn't find a price. Finally he guessed a price and tagged it. Brought it up to the register and the checkout girl saw the price and called the manager and told she found the price. I left the item at the counter and walked out. As a manager, if you price something wrong, you have to eat the difference. Sorry, but that's how it works. Not good customer service. With that being said, I love marshalls and stores like this, so I will return despite the terrible service. read more

I like this location best out of all the Marshall's: They have the biggest floor space and offerings, AND you can hit the TJ Maxx a couple of doors down. Their shoe section is laid out nicely, with plenty of new and clearance items. I also see some of the more expensive makers like Coach. This goes for the purse section, too. Their furnishings and home goods section usually has more variety than the other greater Nola locations. I have gotten some good bargains there over the years. It's perfect for the champagne taste on a beer budget! The only drawback is the Huey P. construction going on. read more

Watch Your purse @ Marshall's in Elmwood Shopping Center, Mine was stolen on December 13th, 2012- Because I did not act like a fool it was considered that I did not care even if I had no keys to my car or home, lost a coach purse, had no licence or credit cards, money and all of my accessories that I had in my purse. Management was not only uncaring, the only thing they offered was to check the survellience camers, I had to ask a clerk to phone into the office to see if they had spotted the thief. After stating my purse had been stolen I did not see the manager again. Not only did I have to borrow a phone from the clerks on the floor I had to run outside to see if my car was stolen. The management did not offer an incident report, in fact, he told me I would have to call the police if I wanted one. Is this the way Marshall's handles all customers? They are very willing to take your money but not willing to express any help at all if you are in need of a helping hand. Beware, hopefully you will have a back up because there will be no compassion or even a sorry if this happens to you. I will not be back. read more

Well, when I want to go treasure hunting for fashion this is the place. I always I mean always find great merchandise at a reasonably low price. The associates here are not helpful and they don't come with smiling faces nor cheerful attitudes, more like an unwelcomed grimace with a don't come near me while I pretend to work look. Yet,I don't mind, I know what I like and I know how to style myself. I only need the nearest checkout with an efficient cashier. Marshalls, is renowned for their tends and designer names for less than retail prices. Designers such as: Coach, Dooney & Burke, Ralph Lauren, and Michael Kors just to list a few. I am not overly hyped about labels or trends; however, for the shoppers who are Marshalls has a wide variety of trendy handbags, shoes, clothes, and accessories for the fashion seekers. The home department and organic cleaning products are my newest loves. I have been buying so many nic-nacs that I have no space for and I continue to buy more. Although the home department is my new love the shoe department remains my true love. I never leave the store without checking out Marshalls shoes and great deals, somehow I seem to create a guilt free excuse to buy a pair. I love Marshalls. I find so many great items here at exceptionally low prices and it's located in the center of other popular shops, eateries, and AMC Elmwood Palace 20 which is awesome in my humble opinion. read more
