You'd think that all TJs are the same but they're not. I make it a point to go to the stores in various locations because the quality of the selections vary. Every now and then I find a really nice piece. I'll admit that the skincare, personal care and snack sections have me in a chokehold. The problem is there are so many deals that I end up buying more than necessary. I've been able to significantly cut down my monthly spending by only visiting TJ's once a month...should I go less??? read more

GREAT DEALS!!! I love coming to this tj maxx when I need a last minute outfit for an event or just because. You will always find a great deal for very stylist clothes. Unlike other small department stores, tj maxx is very well organized, so don't fret! They are usually very busy on Saturdays between 12-2. There are so few cashiers, and the wait can be annoying when you only have a $6 candle. Speaking of, I get all of my candles from tj maxx! The scents are AMAZING and they have 3 wick yankee candles for $9.99! Great prices, deals, and clean organized stores. read more

If you know me, you know that 85% of my wardrobe comes from TJ Maxx, and I will literally tell you the price to the cent of what I paid. I'm definitely a Maxxinista! I was told to check out this spot, and while I've got a few locations closer, I was not disappointed. I had a thai-themed party that night, and found a pair of cute thai-like pants to rock. Other purchases were a muscle-sweater shirt (I literally wore it for two days in a row, it was so soft), an adorable fan that looks cuter than it works but whatever, and some other little things that I absolutely don't need but love to have. I also love their small furniture section. I have a mirror that doubles as a jewerly case, and they had one in a nice faux wood finish there that I'd suggest to anyone looking for a multipurpose piece of furniture. Check out here was swift, and the store (for the most part) was well organized and clean. My only complaint is the quality of the things you might find. My thai pants were washed once and have already ripped (womp womp, maybe just hand wash). Definitely worth a visit to find oodles of things you may not need, but want at a steal. read more

I was pretty bummed when TJ Maxx moved from it's previous location near my house, alllll the way to Algiers. It takes me 10 whole minutes to get there! Since I found myself in the area, I decided to stop in and check out the fancy new digs. The store is located in an entirely new complex and everything is fresh, new and organized perfectly. The store is HUGE, so I can't really blame them for the location change. TJ Maxx has everything from clothing to purses, jewelry and housewares. Since it was nearing the end of October when I stopped in, naturally all of the Christmas stuff was on full display- from wrapping paper to holiday scented candles. I've always liked TJ Maxx because the items here are well priced and actually nice and not of cheap quality. The staff was also super friendly and were sure to ask if I needed help, which was extremely appreciated. Although I didn't buy anything, the check out lines weren't too long and all registers were open. read more

I woke up like this! Flawless,,,, Every woman should feel moved to say those words when they get out of bed every morning. It sets your mood for the day to be filled abundantly with all good things. Well, today, I woke up like this..took a drive to the new TJ Maxx and had a great time shopping the unbothered racks and empty rows. It was like ahhhhhhhh... I can breathe, clothes. Wonderful. No worries about the lady pulling your shirt or scoping out your situation to see if you will buy that Kate Spade. No I did not buy her but was darn tempted. I really like the labels of handbags. You never know what you will get. I bought the cutest everyday bag. Also,career wear has alot to be desired but great start. I would like to see more pencil skirts and blazers in this section. The swimwear section was non existent. Come on, son, dead of summer and we don't have any threads to wear on the beach? I know yall will get it together. The furniture seemed contemporary but I did not have time to price it. I also liked the little girls clothes... The sale associates were very nice and just seemingly happy to be there. I knew it was a bad idea when this TJ Maxx moved from its old location to its new spot in Algiers...(Bad for my wallet...good for TJ Maxx). It seems I can NEVER just pick up lunch and return back to work without stopping to browse and see what kinda treasure i can find. Well today was no different. Stumbled in and found this gorgeous yellow Jessica Simpson luggage set! So excited. I get everything from here....dishes, favorite green teas, sunglasses that Michelle J from BR always inherits, clothes for my niece, and perfume...basically EVERYTHING. Its a one stop shop. Stores still in new condition, employees always on hand, but they are still working out some kinks I guess because things are always in a different area of the store when i visit. The only thing that i can say is a bummer is that parking lot is soooooo far away from the actual store. So there's no such thing as a good parking spot. And who needs that with this summer humidity. read more

Walked into this place for the first time ever today and I have to admit, I was impressed. Where Ross and Burke's have the feel of neglect and desperation, This store did not. The attitude of the employees seemed very up and high-spirited. When I mentioned that it looked like someone really planned out the store well, the lady at the counter said, Yeah. They did a really good job for us. They did. Their prices were not too bad and their "this and that" isles were well organized. I would recommend going here over either of the stores sharing this building. read more

Went on New Year's eve day for some accessories and walked out without my purse. I drove all the way home before I noticed and rush back immediately. In a panic I asked the security guard at the front if anyone had turned in a purse, she shrugged and went about her business referring me to the register. There was a line, but I interrupted my checkout person to ask if she had seen it. She also seemed very unconcerned and told me to talk to a manager. I had to ask her three times to get one for me! When he finally came over he took my name, number and a description of the purse though I said my phone was in the bag and that he wouldn't be able to contact me. I asked if someone could please watch the cameras and see if the bag had been stolen. An employee named Sarah alleged that I walked out with the bag. Feeling relieved, I ran back home thinking I must have misplaced it. However it was not at home so I made yet another trip back to the store begging Sarah to please review the cameras once again. Still, no one seemed concerned in the least though my entire life was in that bag. They treated me like I didn't know what I was talking about and they were very inconvenienced by my presence! Lo and behold one of the employees had found my bag and didn't bother to tell anyone. Yet they insisted I had left with it and I was the crazy one! This was a terrible experience and the customer service was the worst! I can promise you I will never be back to that store. I hope that if Sarah and team ever loses something important to them, they get treated the same way. Good customer service wins every time, and you just lost a loyal shopper. read more

I was followed around the store obviously because of the color of my skin. Simply Christmas shopping instead of my experience being blissful I was harassed by the not only the manager but her employees. As they believed they were being discrete, they were obvious idiots. The blind leading the blind is a prime example of your management and employees. In results of, I spending hundreds of dollars, that your higher authority felt entitled to me not having due to my physical appearance. Feeling so entitled to the degree of calling the police as he sits in the parking lot, just in case they have "another one". Mission failed. I will never attend this location again. read more

One of the cleanest and best organized TJ's I've seen. Great houseware selection. I wished they had more shower curtains and duvet covers but I still managed to find great stuff. I only wish I had the will power to leave without buying sooo much stuff. I'll definitely be back. read more

The Store is overwhelmingly big, personally I liked the old store better. I haven't been to TJ Maxx in over 3 months. I use to stop by the Lapalco Store 2 times a week. I've been to Marshalls maybe twice a month. I THINK THEY SHOULD OPEN UP TJ MAXX AT THE OLD LOCATION AGAIN and keep the new location as well and they'll make money at with both stores. Gretna and Marrero people will not really go out of their way to go to the Algiers. read more

My first day in New Orleans I went to the nearest TJ Maxx store which is 5 .2 miles away from my hotel. Being a stranger in town, I asked the cab driver how I could back to my hotel and he told the store can call a cab for me as that was in a different Parish. ( They use parish for counties) The cashier, looks like she is from the Philippines, was very nice. I asked her if she could call a cab for me. She called one of the floor associates. This guy looked surprised when he was asked to call a cab for me. He went and called another associate who also called another person. The cashier kept telling them the phone number was in a book in the first draw. None of them made an effort to even look. At this point there were 3 associates at the front with this cashier who was busy serving customers. After standing there for quiet 10 minutes waiting for an answer, one of them told me to use my cell phone and google the number and call the cab. She continued to say they don't call cabs for customer.s. It wasn't their refusal to call the cab. but rather making me wait for that long and neither of them making an effort to even ask whether I was from there or not. Or even if I had a cell phone.
