This store doesn't get nearly enough credit. It may not feel as clean and stylized as a target, or chic like pottery barn, but Big Lots basically carries the same products but at deeply discounted pricing-think overstock in real life. I needed new cookware and was looking for a small pink flocked Christmas tree. Cookware online based on reviews all edged over the $130 price tag and the pink tree I wanted was either sold out or priced pretty high at $85. For $115 including tax, I hauled home a beautiful 4 foot tree, pre lit and just the right shade ($45) and a 10 piece ceramic set for $60. Savings and values without the frills. read more

However, now I There's a few employees who are not so nice and ONE in particular who not only refused to give me a refund on n a Mattress cover that was definitely on the receipt but she KEPT the mattress cover AND even CHARGED ME AGAIN ?!?! Unfortunately, it was late , she had me second guessing myself, it was closing as she shoved the receipts back in my hand ( not giving me a second to check it , she rushed me rite out of the door ?! So I paid over $50.00 for a Mattress Cover that SHE KEPT ! I used to shop there a lot! I didn't have time within the 30 day limit to go back therefore I don't go at all these days . read more

I've been a Big Lots shopper for years and appreciate it for what it is. They're located on Vets in a large strip mall where you can usually find adequate parking in the shared lot. The store looks a little rundown and feels cluttered. There aren't many employees milling around, so it's not always easy to find assistance if you need it. Sometimes there are too few cashiers as well. This might all sound dreadful, but it's really not that bad. There are great values to be had. They carry housewares, snacks, health and beauty items, toys, and some inexpensive holiday decorations. And the employees are always friendly. I'll continue to shop here. read more

During an otherwise very pleasant shopping experience this morning, I arrived at the checkout where there were only 2 registers open and the line was moving very slow. This really didn't even bother me as I was in no particular hurry. That is until I heard the lady standing in line behind me explaining to another customer that she was only looking for her cane she had mistakenly left hanging on her cart earlier. I heard her ask the woman who seemed to be filling online orders at the side of the register tell her that she had to wait in line (rather than stopping what she was doing for a minute and at least offering to ask one of the cashiers to check if the cane was even there). Not only can Big Lots do better than this, we as a society can do better than this. :( read more

I like Big Lots and I can not lie! You others can't deny! When you walk in and a deal stands out, you can't not look! I suck at rhyming. But I do like the deals you can get at Big Lots on every day items, like garbage bags, cleaning supplies and the like. I'm not so cheap to buy food items from them, but they do have some great deals on decorations, home decor, and outdoor furniture. The stock does seem to be random, but nothing seems to be expired or rotting in here. I even have purchased a bagless vacuum for under $25! And the vacuum really sucks in the good way! Being the corner (in the angle of the L) of an L-shaped strip mall, it is much larger on the inside than what it appears to be on the outside (that's what she said, hehehehe). It is neat and clean, and there are no huge piles of stock blocking the aisles, which is great. Yes, the customer service does leave something to be desired, but I am so sure that none of these employees graduated from the local etiquette school. Be nice to them, they can get flustered like we all can. I have actually had someone ask if I can be helped, but not in that in your face overwhelming manner. That is a good thing. read more

This is our place for amazing selection and price for all that is Christmas! We are self proclaimed Buddhist Christmas-aholics and this is the place we quell our consumerism during the holidays... Tee hee, that sounds silly! Great prices on candles, earphones, toiletries, paper products, cleaning and household products... Bedding, bathroom stuff, pet section, lawncare... Pretty much anything you need if you look for it.... At rock bottom prices. Word to the wise: the parking lot is always packed, so beware! read more

For a Big Lots, this place is actually quite nice. Instead of the depressing ones here on the WB, the staff here were friendly, had great customer service skills and actually seemed like they were in a good mood. Awesome. From the friendly greeting as we came in the door (didn't even sound robotic like they usually do) to checkout, everyone was fantastic. The store was clean, well lit and well stocked. I can say, with all sincerity, the selection here was much better than any other BL I've been to here in New Orleans. As always, you won't find better prices and if you look hard enough, you can find some really interesting foods to try. If only all the Big Lots were run this well, I'd shop there more often. read more

Yes, I do still find some things at a really good price, and this place is a must for Halloween decorations. Like legit, probably one of the best spots to get yo' spooky steals. But...the service leaves a lot to be desired. They currently have some sort of rewards deal that the cashier has to tell every customer about and then has to hen pick the handful of digits into their computer system. If an item does not have a price tag on it and/or that price tag is hard to read and/or you just punched a ticket to the 5th circle of Hell, you're not going anywhere fast. There really isn't a sense of urgency, and that's fine. It's not a fire station, it's Big Lots. ;) If you're not in a rush, and want some good deals, you'll be fine. But if you get line rage...maybe pass on the Lots of Big. read more

I know from the outside of this place you wouldn't think k so but it has put the other Big Lots to shame. This is my favorite one. They seem to have everything. Great deals and all name brand groceries. Some stuff I can't get anywhere else. Best place to get cereal on a budget. read more

I confess; I like Big Lots. There are lots of good deals at this place. If you're trying to buy groceries on a budget, go here for a few key items: coffee, cereal, olive oil, chips/snacks, soaps and detergent, and more.
