It's devastating to spend hours shopping and find that most items have no price. I understand the…read morepolicy: when an item has no price, it goes back to another facility for repricing. However, in this case, it was done within five minutes; the item came back with a price. Unfortunately, I had to speak with two managers about this issue. The first manager got the items I was interested in purchasing and magically got an item price. Just as I knew it would be the price was not marked as not on sale. This manager knew what would happen with the item when being repriced. But to shut me up, she acted on the issue with false intent of caring. Her demeanor showed she really wasn't considering my complaint to be valid. So, I asked for a higher-up supervisor, and the warehouse manager Karen Miranda, showed up. In explaining my issue she was justifying why the pricing of items exists. So that means staff knows there is a problem. She mentioned there is limited staff. I guess the items are purposely placed on shelves and hangers unpriced to keep the appearance of the store full. Once again I asked for someone higher up, I was given the Headquarters contact information, when I called I was placed on hold for a few minutes then the recording said all staff were busy, and the phone disconnected. In all of that, I still wasn't satisfied. I can say overall inventory is plentiful which means to see it all, it requires hours of attention, managers are not compassionate and need more training in people skills and problem-solving techniques. The prices are extremely high when the products are derivatives of free donations. It is not solely helping people after disasters it's mostly a revenue source. Finally, I have decided not to shop there anymore because it's been a waste of my time and money. I hope the system is resolved by serving the people rather than the profit. I wdidn't feel appreciated. So, good luck to the people shopping there.

There's a lot of items from the past and likely something for anyone that enjoys antiquing or thrifting, but for me, the prices leaned higher than a five star rating for a bargain.

No matter what city you're in, you go into a Buffalo Exchange, and you feel like you've been in it before. This is because all of the locations are designed and laid out very much the same. Like all Buffalo Exchange locations, this shop offers the best of the best of vintage clothing, footwear, accessories, and jewelry. Everything they have for sale is chosen from all of the clothing and other items that sellers bring into the shop. From there, only the best of the best is purchased. Meaning, whatever it is that they offer to their customers has been well examined. The people that work in this shop, are all super nice. So, if you need any help, I'm sure that they are more than happy to give it to you. Located on Magazine Street, this business is super easy to find. In terms of parking, they have parking all over the place. You can find parking spots on Magazine Street, or the streets that surround the business. So, that should never be a problem. Overall, if you're looking for that truly unique piece of vintage clothing, this is a great place to find it.

My heart was broken when I found the most beautiful beaded, silk skirt that simply didn't fit. Humbling experience but that's the way it goes sometimes. Ultimately, Swap has singlehandedly eliminated my need to ever go to Lakeside Mall or Canal place, and has given me the wonderful ability of clicking delete when I get a sale notice from Banana or J. Crew because I know I can get the item at Swap in the same condition for less money. First, the owner, Michelle, is fabulous. It is like she has read every how to make your employees and people around you respect and love you book on the market. Or maybe it's innate for her. I don't know. Michelle is a genuinely kind person, who signs every single one of her business' emails with every single store associates name. In a world of faceless corporations, that means a considerable amount. Swap discounts items on a schedule. I know they do at 30 and 60 days, so you can take a gamble and watch an item if you are in love. Swap has only been open for a little over two years, and nearly half of my wardrobe went to be consigned there and the other half has been rejuvenated by it. My finds include Theory shirt dresses for 15 dollars, silk Club Monaco skirts for under 30, Coach wallets and wristlets, Tory Burch clutches for under 100, a Guess red peacoat that was Blair Waldorf worthy for under 70, banana republic silk tops, etc. How did this happen you say? Michelle opened her store in a section of town that has wealthier liberal arts schools literally 2,500 feet away (tulane and loyola) and is wedged in a wealthier part of new orleans. So, an influx of a revolving market with a disposable income. Brilliant! She works her butt off to get the word out about her store to New Orleans' ladies who lunch who then bring their garmets here. (Thankfully) There is no hipster ridiculous pretentiousness here (Im lookin' at you Buffalo Exchange) and they are always kind when you consign your items. I have never been treated anything but wonderfully by Michelle and her crew. If you are in the area, make a point to stop here. Honestly, I would work here for free if it were legal, but well, we both know there are labor laws. note: sign up for store emails because Swap loves coupons as much as you budget fashionistas do, and they also have an ebay edition of their store.

Some examples:…read more - Promotional branded liquor apparel that is usually given out for free being sold for $20-$30 - an empty bottle of beefeater gin with some christmas lights shoved inside being sold for $18 - all shoes $30. I can buy new adidas at the outlet mall for $40. Why would I want them used for more than $12? The furniture was all $200-$700. Yes, it was nice, heavy wood, but none of it looked like new or anything. Most of them were a restoration project. I don't want to buy a desk for $500 that has stains in all the drawers and is scuffed all over. I couldn't find any women's pants to try on whatsover for some reason.

Many items are new or gently used. I have purchased many blazers here for less than $7. I have seen clothes from Zara, Express, Gap, and others at a low price. Some items are 50% off the ticketed price if you go on a certain day. My only complaint is that they took out the fitting rooms; to avoid returning an item, I find a mirror and try it over my clothes.
