Many items are 50% off but I would encourage you to check the expiration date on the items. Some were expired, some were not expired. I went all over the store looking for clothes, tried them on and bought them all. I got over a $900 retail value of clothes for $147. As you know, their clothes are excellent quality and stylish. If there's a Dillard's Clearance Center near you, visit them. You won't regret it. Macys also has a clearance center called, Macy's Backstage. It's called shopping smart.

I got a tip on River Road Flea Market from an acquaintance, who became an acquaintance because I was asking about where to get furniture. Of all the stores and spots she recommended, this was my favorite and definitely the best. It was a little difficult to find because their address online says the city's name is Jefferson and my GPS only recognizes Jefferson as a parish. Now I know it's in New Orleans city, and not all the far away at all. It's located literally right by the river, separated by a grassy bank and the levee. The building is HUGE. It's like a warehouse divided into little rooms, all of which are decorated with amazing antiques and thrifty finds for a fairly reasonable price (about 125 for a desk-sized table, 150 for a wardrobe or dresser). It's not the cheapest spot, but the quality of the merchandise makes up for it. They get most of their merchandise from estate sales, apparently, and the eclectic collection certainly reflects that. Several of the rooms are themed: jewelry, records, children's furniture and toys (there was an amazing vintage rocking chair that I would buy just to anticipate having children... except I'm not), books, etc. Outside in a small gated area, they sell specialty Mexican pottery, most of which is large and would be appropriate for a yard, and wrought iron benches and trellises. I purchased a vintage bracelet for $5, and I can't wait to go back and actually purchase furniture, once I'm moved in! The whole toiletries section has been revamped into barely anything, most of the food section has been decimated as well. The housewares section nearly gone as well as decor and much fewer seasonal item choices. All the clothing that you have put out is unattractive, too large and takes up half the store. You added rows of kitchen appliances that, in my opinion are not good quality and unnecessary. Maybe it's just me but I miss the old Big Lots. Let me put it this way, if you were to re-open the original Big Lots big right next-door to the new Big Lots you would see how the new Big Lots pales in comparison and would go out of business very quickly. There's 50 cent greeting cards, and also some that go for $1. Best thing is that they have greeting cards with Bible verses in them (the "Joyfully Yours" line), which are a real encouragement to read. My younger one picked out two wedding cards that were pretty good. Noticed they also had $1.25 Zapps potato chip bags didn't have the cajun craw tator flavor unfortunately.
