Nice selection of furniture, pretty reasonably priced. I wasn't too impressed with the other stuff - the jewelry was all rather cheap-looking, and the purses seemed pricey. Still, we had a nice time browsing around finding the occasional odd trinket. I'm curious about how often the stock turns over; I'll be back to look at furniture, as they had some nice pieces but none that were right for my space. The salesperson who checked us out was pleasant enough but didn't exactly go out of his way to offer assistance when we had questions about some of the merchandise.

This is one of my favorite local flea markets! I love wondering around this place and have bought several items over the past few months. My most favorite find: a Pyrex "Eyes" Chip & Dip Set! You can also find some neat local antique treasures here. Old newspapers, postcards, Mr. Bingle products (around Christmastime), and the list goes on! It is cash only, but there's an ATM inside the building on the left side of the checkout counter. I've never had an issue with the man who runs the counter. He's very quiet, but has always been very nice.

Mid-range quality, selection, and prices. The outdoor selection (especially planters) seems to offer pretty good deals and there were some reasonably good finds inside.

This is him taking pictures of me taking pictures of him. He's obviously neglectful of the customers inside

Small then I expected. Typical flea stuff, not true antiques but who knows what will show up tomorrow.

But this time around, it was just a bunch of poorly curated junk. The way things were displayed was poor, just unorganized, requiring you to dig around. It feels overwhelming going in here. Previously, I felt like I was on a treasure hunt, but this time around, I was feeling anxiety going through all the stuff. They do have old typewriters and old phones though, at decent price (around $115-175 for typewriters, and $25 for the old phones). I thought those were the coolest items. But honestly, they didn't even have the cute charm I was hoping for. Some of the typewriters did have handles, which was great if you wanted to carry it on your flight back home. But, you couldn't take the lid off...just a bummer. Will forever continue to search for the vintage typewriter and phone.

The few that were in there were pretty expensive. But because I'm good at digging around, I did manage to find two matching pieces in a couple of stacks on the floor that were inexpensive. Such a small win in such a big store though. It's still a cool place to hang around in for a couple hours.

This past year I've had a thing for purchasing copper jewelry- most bracelets from South Korea, Mexico City, Tijuana and Mt. Charleston. Wondered if anyone ever made copper necklaces. I saw a few vendors that had thick linked chains. I bought the medium $45 length- tax is high in New Orleans. Far cry from dainty but copper is supposed to be good for arthritis and health. Ok let's see.

Congested with wandering tourists, most of the vendors sell items that could be found at any flea market in the country. A lot of the souvenirs and clothing fell way short in reflecting authentic New Orleans craftsmanship. I was hoping for a market more along the lines of Barcelona's La Boqueria with bounties of fresh produce and appetizing edibles, but there was just a row of fast food kiosks beyond the beignets at Cafe du Monde. Without a doubt, the highlight of the market was the strolling groups of musicians randomly playing jazz to enraptured tourists. RELATED - Exploring New Orleans?
