I stopped in here on Sunday. They are conveniently located on Veterans behind the FedEx dome building. They have a large store that is broken up by individual vendor stalls. There is a great selection of local items to choose from. Some of it is new and some are handmade crafts. There were some antique pieces spread throughout the place, but it seemed the majority of things to be artwork and knick-knacks. I found the prices to be a little high, but I enjoyed browsing the aisles and listening to the fun Christmas music. The ladies working there were very friendly. They had a table at the front when you walk in offering Christmas cookies and a variety of beverages, including coffee, water, champagne and a cooler with beers. I guess it was for holiday shopping and game day? I didn't partake in any, but it's nice when places do that.

Located behind the FedEx store on Vets is a one-stop shopping destination for antiques, artwork, furnishings, children's clothing, glassware, and jewelry. It's set up like a flea market without the vendors present. They just rent a booth to display their products. Over a hundred booths here. Cool place to shop for unique items you won't find at a mall or most other stores. The ladies that work here are wonderful, appreciative, and helpful. All the vendors here that sell their products are local. The prices here run the gamut from expensive to affordable. Come to Le Boulevard and support your fellow New Orleanians!!

Interesting setup - lots of small stalls with dozens of individuals vendors - and a pretty wide range of items. Purchased a few prints from one of the photographers and satisfied with the quality and prices.

Great store where I always find at least one nice piece to bring home! Pricing is fair if a bit high.

There were quite a number of interesting things to look at and they have a respectable assortment of tiny collectible knickknacks scattered around. I got a tip on River Road Flea Market from an acquaintance, who became an acquaintance because I was asking about where to get furniture. Of all the stores and spots she recommended, this was my favorite and definitely the best. It was a little difficult to find because their address online says the city's name is Jefferson and my GPS only recognizes Jefferson as a parish. Now I know it's in New Orleans city, and not all the far away at all. It's located literally right by the river, separated by a grassy bank and the levee. The building is HUGE. It's like a warehouse divided into little rooms, all of which are decorated with amazing antiques and thrifty finds for a fairly reasonable price (about 125 for a desk-sized table, 150 for a wardrobe or dresser). It's not the cheapest spot, but the quality of the merchandise makes up for it. They get most of their merchandise from estate sales, apparently, and the eclectic collection certainly reflects that. Several of the rooms are themed: jewelry, records, children's furniture and toys (there was an amazing vintage rocking chair that I would buy just to anticipate having children... except I'm not), books, etc. Outside in a small gated area, they sell specialty Mexican pottery, most of which is large and would be appropriate for a yard, and wrought iron benches and trellises. I purchased a vintage bracelet for $5, and I can't wait to go back and actually purchase furniture, once I'm moved in! Just don't beat me to it; there's a table and a bedframe that I've already got my eye on...

But this time around, it was just a bunch of poorly curated junk. The way things were displayed was poor, just unorganized, requiring you to dig around. It feels overwhelming going in here. Previously, I felt like I was on a treasure hunt, but this time around, I was feeling anxiety going through all the stuff. They do have old typewriters and old phones though, at decent price (around $115-175 for typewriters, and $25 for the old phones). I thought those were the coolest items. But honestly, they didn't even have the cute charm I was hoping for. Some of the typewriters did have handles, which was great if you wanted to carry it on your flight back home. But, you couldn't take the lid off...just a bummer. Will forever continue to search for the vintage typewriter and phone.

The few that were in there were pretty expensive. But because I'm good at digging around, I did manage to find two matching pieces in a couple of stacks on the floor that were inexpensive. Such a small win in such a big store though. It's still a cool place to hang around in for a couple hours.
