There was a store wide sale on almost everything, like $14.99 for cardigan jackets and $7.99 for pants and blouses. While shopping, a staff member walked up to me and said, we're now marking everything down. Items that are $14.99 will be $7.99 and items that are $7.99 will be $4.99. I was like ma'am, say less. I went all over the store looking for clothes, tried them on and bought them all. I got over a $900 retail value of clothes for $147. As you know, their clothes are excellent quality and stylish. If there's a Dillard's Clearance Center near you, visit them. You won't regret it. Macys also has a clearance center called, Macy's Backstage. It's called shopping smart.

The sushi bar is good for grocery store sushi. The bakery is really good but the one on power is better and bigger. Seafood department and meat are always fresh and reasonably priced. They have a butcher in house that will do cuts if you ask. They sell live and cooked crawfish.

I got a tip on River Road Flea Market from an acquaintance, who became an acquaintance because I was asking about where to get furniture. Of all the stores and spots she recommended, this was my favorite and definitely the best. It was a little difficult to find because their address online says the city's name is Jefferson and my GPS only recognizes Jefferson as a parish. Now I know it's in New Orleans city, and not all the far away at all. It's located literally right by the river, separated by a grassy bank and the levee. The building is HUGE. It's like a warehouse divided into little rooms, all of which are decorated with amazing antiques and thrifty finds for a fairly reasonable price (about 125 for a desk-sized table, 150 for a wardrobe or dresser). It's not the cheapest spot, but the quality of the merchandise makes up for it. They get most of their merchandise from estate sales, apparently, and the eclectic collection certainly reflects that. Several of the rooms are themed: jewelry, records, children's furniture and toys (there was an amazing vintage rocking chair that I would buy just to anticipate having children... except I'm not), books, etc. Outside in a small gated area, they sell specialty Mexican pottery, most of which is large and would be appropriate for a yard, and wrought iron benches and trellises. I purchased a vintage bracelet for $5, and I can't wait to go back and actually purchase furniture, once I'm moved in! There's 50 cent greeting cards, and also some that go for $1. Best thing is that they have greeting cards with Bible verses in them (the "Joyfully Yours" line), which are a real encouragement to read. My younger one picked out two wedding cards that were pretty good. Noticed they also had $1.25 Zapps potato chip bags didn't have the cajun craw tator flavor unfortunately.

The owner was friendly and we laughed when he said he could tell I was more western Korean haha. Just a nice market with a surprising amount of variety.

And yeah, it's huge! There was a LOT of furniture and some of it was new. Plus a whole section of exercise equipment for those with good intentions. The prices seemed OK to me and there was definitely some new stuff. The housewares were plentiful but not super organized. And there were so many clothes that I was a smidge overwhelmed. The staff was helpful and friendly.

Bridge House is a thrift store that supports those with substance abuse within the community. I'm…read morenot sure what percentage of the sales go towards this, but it is a very nice deed. This thrift store is a nice size, it isn't massive. They have some beautiful shoes right by the entrance, they are displayed like they're in a department store. They have sorted clothes, for men, women and children. I was the most impressed by the home items like; rugs, mirrors, and glassware. Sadly I couldn't bring any of these home with me, but I really liked one of the mirrors. They have a whole section of $1.00 items, there was nothing for me here, but everything seemed to be in very good shape. They also have a substantial amount of records, CDs, books and art. This thrift store is much easier to navigate then the huge ones. You never know what you may find, and think of the good cause you're supporting with your purchase.
