The service here is what we like. I'm visiting from Austin, Texas and my dad takes all visitors here for a good meal. It's not fancy but the people here are great. They always remember my dad and people come over to offer well wishes and check in. Last night we went for dinner and it was good. All of our food was excellent except for the gnocchi special. It had a butternut squash puree sauce. Those two do not mix imho. I love butternut squash soup but as a pasta sauce it did not work. I loved my linguini and clams (white sauce). I enjoyed my salad and my dad loved his NE clam chowder. I was tempted to get their homemade lasagna but went with one of my faves. My dad is a regular at this place. Food is 5 star, classic American Italian! The female owner however is rude, abrasive, and not welcoming. We had a minor snafu with our seating and rather than politely understand the situation with our waitress, she came unhinged in an angry outburst. It was uncomfortable, awkward, and misplaced. It really left a bad taste in our mouth and I'd be hesitant to recommend to our community of friends. It's unfortunate because the service otherwise is great. The food is also delicious and reliable. If you chance facing a cranky owner, make sure to try the Caesar salad, linguine with clams, and the delightful key lime cream pie. read more

Was there recently and the lasagna is fairly priced but it's not lasagna! It's some strange version of Mac and way too much cheese and no meat. Hated it, my grandma would turn over in her grave if she knew about this. This place is off my Italian list. read more

Love the ambiance of this restaurant My party sat in the bar area. I had the fettuccine Alfredo which was excellent, But what I enjoyed even more was the Pasta Aglio e Olio Which I took home for the next night. The Caesar salad that came with dinner was really good as well. Service was good, however our waiter had a hard time getting our order straight as we were Ordering food to eat in as well as food to take home. But he got it all together in the end. It was hopping on a random Thursday night, so I know they get good business, and my expectations were high. But... It's okay. It's satisfactory. I think a little TLC could go a long way in making the customer experience more enjoyable from the chairs to the table setup and silverware, glassware, plating, etc. the fettuccine alfredo wasn't spectacular, but my sister got he eggplant parmesan, and that was definitely delish. I tried a bite and wished I's ordered that! The house salad was decent and the tomato cheese bread was like a french bread pizza - yum! This is an unassuming place off of Rattlesnake Hammock Rd. It looks smaller from the outside but is rather large on the inside. We arrived early for dinner at about 4:45, and it's a lucky thing because the dinner rush really filled the place up. But even as it filled, the background noise was not an impact on our dinner. The waitress was kind and attentive. The chicken was so tender it truly melted in your mouth! I had Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and it was delicious. The sauce was flavorful and full of cheese but wasn't so thick that it congealed. It wasn't soupy either! Just perfect. My father had the Chicken Marsala and his chicken was just as good! He had cauliflower that he said was very tasty and not mushy. Although there isn't much to be said for the atmosphere of the place, I highly recommend the food and the service. Mediocre at best. The service was pretty good but the food was lacking. The water glass that was brought to the table had a bug in it. The waiter was quick to replace it. One of the other drink glasses had stuff stuck to it in two places. The table rolls they served were not homemade and not even warm. The house salad had peas and zucchini in it which I found odd for an Italian restaurant. The kids refused to eat the pizza or the fettuccine Alfredo, which are their favorites. The chicken francese had capers in the sauce and you were charged extra to serve it over pasta. Though you were offered a side of pasta. All in all I wouldn't recommend. read more

Came back for another attempt at an Italian dinner - place always busy at 4:30 after church. "Caesar salad" was wilted lettuce wit a few croutons and a dressing I'd never seen before - not flavorful. Pasta NOT al dente. Meat sauce lukewarm and not interesting at all - poorly plated. Rolls probably from a bag - not fresh. Wine inexpensive but pour definitely small (less than 5 oz.). waitres friendly and welcoming but only saw her twice (order and check). I really gave this 'famous locally' place another chance but too many much better Italian restaurants within a few blocks much better in ambiance, portions and authenticity. read more

This restaurant is located in a strip mall, with a laundromat, beer store and a Dominos. When you walk up to the doors, they are tinted so dark you can't see in. There is a small waiting area inside with a host station, and NO musty smell was noticed! We were seated right away. There are 3 dining room sections. We arrived around 6:30 and there were approximately 30 patrons inside seated. From some previous reviews I didn't know what to expect. Hopefully this review will give you a current idea of what to expect when you dine here. Joyce was our server and was nice and patient with us when we were indecisive. The three adults had the Caesar salad and it was the bomb! I could tell immediately that this was homemade dressing (and it is)! This is the best Caesar salad I have had at any restaurant anywhere period! The little one among us had the vegetable soup. The only one of us that knew what he wanted was my grandson, lasagna was his choice. My Step daughter picked the Zuppa De' Pesce and loved it. My wife ordered the Chicken Cacciatore and liked it. I had the Chicken Marsala, this was the best I've had IMO. The sauce was not thin and watery like most restaurants, the Marsala sauce was reduced properly and thicker with good flavor and there were plenty of mushrooms on top! The rolls were fresh and very warm when they arrived and were refilled after our meals arrived. We did not order from the bar. The prices were appropriate for the portion sizes, unlike some of the fancier places a few miles away! The restaurant could use a freshening up to appease the younger crowd. I don't care what the decor looks like (with the exception of filth) as long as the food and service is good! DiJulio's did both very well and I recommend them for your next Italian meal. read more

DiJulio's is a family-owned neighborhood restaurant in a non-descriptive strip shopping center. They serve mostly Italian dishes that are perfectly prepared and down-home delicious. They also offer a personal favorite - liver and onions. Wonderful! It's a happening place, filled with locals and snowbirds who know a good thing when they find it. Not a fancy schmancy place - redecorating would not hurt - but the food is solid - very well prepared, served with a smile and you don't need to take out a second mortgage to dine here! read more

We read all about this restaurant and really wanted to check it out. We love Italian food and recently relocated here from NJ. I have been dying for Chicken Francese, my favorite dish. The place was packed. The entrees are accompanied by your choice of house or Caesar salad. We chose the Caesar, it was a very generous salad and delicious. The home made bread was wonderful, fresh amd warm. Service was on point. Bill our server was terrific. He was prompt, attentive and when explaining the specials he also included the price of each. My husband had Chicken Parm and loved it. My Chicken Francese was more of a Chicken Piccata, it had capers which is not traditional Francese. While not what I expected it was still good. The decor was truly a flashback to the Catskills or Poconos but neat and clean none the less. We will be back, next time I am trying a pasta. Long time italian-american food that is a family business, which is rare! The building and rooms are not splashy and are not updated but instead of judging the decor, just enjoy great food and the staff is working hard to try to ensure all enjoy their meal. If I could give a zero I would. There is not much to offer here and took the advice from an article I had read. The decor is majorly outdated and still looks like a restaurant you'd visit from the mid 70's to early 80's. The place had a musty smell the minute we walked in but, we still decided to give it a shot. We were sat right away and ordered the Chicken Francaise and Chicken Parmigiana with a side salad and pasta. The side salads were served with what looked to be cole slaw on top of it. The chicken breast for both dishes looked as though they were frozen pre made patties and the Francaise sauce was thick with a gelatinous type density. I showed the server and explained to him the thick dense like texture to the sauce and he understood. We then chose a different chicken dish with a white wine mushroom sauce and sure enough, the exact same type of dense sauce was on this that looked like that day old chicken fat that turns into gelatin. Food was not seasoned and not hot. Overall experience was a solid zero. Will not be back. read more

I enjoyed this Italian Restaurant. It is not a fancy building but it speaks of old time Italian like small towns in Ohio. This restaurant has been in business since 1989 so longevity speaks highly. The wait staff was ready and waiting when our party of ten arrived and she was friendly, accommodating and efficient which made our birthday experience even better. Chicken Parmesan was tasty and a generous size portion which came with salad or soup. Several people had the meat ravioli which are difficult to find in this area and was very good. There was a fish special and many other authentic Italian offerings. When I drove up to the non-descript shopping center I wondered whether the dining experience would be good. When you walk in, especially the bar area, don't expect what you will find everywhere downtown. Yes, it's dated. Who cares, it weeds out pretense.
