I am giving him 5 stars because he came and mounted my TV Tuesday morning, but upon leaving, I realized it was crooked. I texted him, and he was back on Wednesday morning to fix it. I want to be clear though that he didn't mount the TV crooked. The wall he mounted it on had a slope, so for the TV to appear straight, he had to put some screws in it to give it some slant. This was against his wishes (they were mine) because the level indicated that the TV was straight already, which it was. It was the perspective of it against the crooked wall that made it intolerable for me. He fixed it with some discussion and a smile and I am happy with the finished project. He was polite, professional and competent. Things are as good as it gets, but the was late by about 30 minutes on each day. However, he picked up my phone call on Tuesday when I inquired about his whereabouts, and on Wednesday called me to say he was running behind. He was apologetic for being late and expressed his wishes that he was not making me late for anything else.

OK, so I bought a house in the city and knew I needed A/V help but had no idea where to…read morebegin...what was out there...much less how to get things done at a reasonable cost. A little back story on me...I'm not the type to just find the cheapest vendor for services and I'm not easily swayed by businesses whose marketing efforts that make consumers THINK they're inexpensive (in this case, the likes of Geek Squad). I had been recommended to Premiere by a friend who had way more money to spend on A/V than me, so admittedly I was on guard for $$$. But what began as a cautious in-home meeting with a Premiere rep to discuss my relative disinterest in the world of "home theater" ended up being more enlightening than I had envisioned. In the end, yes, I spent way more than I had planned...but that's pretty much what happened with everything I bought...down to my coffee maker. What I got was an incredibly convenient set up where my TV's all use the same, idiot-proof, IP-based remote (which means my wife and guests don't have to take a course to turn on different TV's). The remotes can even control other TV's in the house AND the thermostats -- features that have come in handy when my pregnant wife needs the thermostat changed in the middle of the night and I don't feel like heading downstairs...or when our sons have another TV too loud when I'm trying to put our daughter down for a nap. They "sold" me (for lack of a better word) on other services too...ones that I'm certain I'd have later determined to want -- like an extended wireless network with a home server for auto backups of our family's laptops (who DOESN'T need that?) and iPod docks that interface with the A/V equipment. Oddly enough, I'm not a movie junkie. In fact, I can't tell you the last year in which I've watched a movie so I'm sure the tone of this would have been more about my Netflix & Pandora apps on my Blu-Ray players if I cared in the least about that stuff. I just like the ease of use in watching the news, listening to music or watching my (few) TV programs in HD. Everything looks great, sounds great and was wired/installed so professionally that I'm actually proud of the setup I have. Among the things like most? 1) Everybody at Premiere is bright and professional. How refreshing. 2) Emails and calls were always returned promptly and thoroughly. That's HUGE with me. 3) They have an engineering dept that provides detailed elevations showing EXACTLY where the brackets should be on the wall...where the wiring goes...how long the wiring should be. At first, this seemed like overkill but every time I look at any of the TV's and see how they are centered...perfectly level...no cords in sight...it reminds me how important this function was. The one regret I have...and I would recommend this to anyone who plans on working with an A/V company on a system that requires programming time on an IP-based remote control system (like Control4) -- don't go out and buy your own TV's like l did. I tried to save a couple bucks by getting TV's myself instead of getting them through Premiere and I regret it. I'm also reminded of it every day when I have to press custom buttons on my remote because the TV I bought doesn't communicate with the remotes as well as other brands. I should have gone with all the ones they were recommending. I also wish they'd have told me why they were recommending their preferred TV's because that knowledge would have been enough to keep me out of stores and offline scouring for TV deals. The ones that I bought didn't have (what I would soon learn to be) "discreet codes" that make programming the remotes easy and most functional. I ended up paying much more in Premiere's programming time than I saved in buying the TV's. AND I'm left with a couple of TV's that aren't integrated into my system as well as the TV's I bought from Premiere. My bad.

Talk about a company that takes advantage of people and the clients lack of knowledge -- these guys…read morequoted me for an AV system that was twice that of another company for THE EXACT same items. I mean EXACT - These guys also wanted to charge me for drawings $2500!!!! -- the company we chose did that as a courtesy -- I don't know how these guys get away with charging OUTRAGEOUS prices for similar services. SHOP THESE GUYS -- you will not regret it. I saved almost $73,000 by being an educated consumer. Don't fall into their sales game trap.

We called AVDG in Chicago because our Sonos system was having problems, cutting in and out. A…read morecouple of men came to our house and thought that the problem with Sonos was our internet. They thought it had been set up wrong, so they reconfigured the modem and the Asus routers that send Wi-Fi around our big house. They said we should get the new modem that Xfinity was offering for free. We got the new modem (gateway) from the Xfinity store and set it up. Then one man from AVDG came to our house and removed one of the two Asus routers and set the other to work with the new Xfinity modem. He also reconfigured the Sonos system to work better (made a sonosnet) with the older components (Sonos Connect) that we have. It was working fine when he left. But now the music still cuts out frequently. Sometimes it's just a brief disturbance, but other times it's so frequent and annoying that we just have to turn the music off. It's possible that the problem is with our hardware (the 2 amplifiers or the Sonos components ). So, after spending more than $800 the original problem remains. We probably have a better internet and WiFi system, but we were not having problems with that before.

I will start by saying I initially used tvti to do my shade installation followed by my smart home…read moresetup. They came recommended to me by a friend who I trusted when it came to tech things so I figured I would give them a shot. The prices were not cheap but I was looking to do things right so I went ahead with the process. I spent over 80k for shades and smart home installation including equipment as well as pay a year subscription to a service for support. 1) Shade Install Overall this process went ok. The installers actually did a good job but they brought a shade which had a giant spot on it and tried convincing me it could be cleaned. After failed attempts they finally replaced it and overall the shades worked fine until about a year after when one shade had rolled onto itself. I scheduled an appointment for the shade as well as a technical issue and they finally came. The guy was very nice and professional and while fixing the tech issue (flashing tv signal from the Apple TV) he didn't bring a ladder and told me I would have to schedule that again. While I don't mind constantly making appointments I do try to have a life outside of scheduling them with AVDG. 2) Technical Setup This initially seemed like it went well. They installed a Control 4 system with dimmable LED lights and a mesh WiFi network. Upon first look everything was shiny and impressive. However, the problems were just beginning. To start, I wasn't really offered anything other than Control 4. This is an abysmal piece of software. DO NOT EVER BUY THIS if you have the money and want to do things right. After install everything went wrong. Speakers wouldn't work. TVs would end up on the same IP and malfunction. The WiFi network was garbage and the signal wouldn't reach different parts of the house. The initial setup didn't include a large enough switch to make sure all my Ethernet ports in the home were working so when I tried to set up a home office I was surprised (though this is my fault for not reading the specs) that they didn't work. Upon reaching out to the representative, I was told that work would be an additional $900 and I would need to buy a new piece of equipment. I am not sure why they made the decision that I wouldn't want all my Ethernet ports on given it was a brand new home and I was willing to spend money. I ended up getting mad and finding an alternative solution for this issue. However, the problems never stopped. I've scheduled over 12 visits to handle numerous tech issues. Volume not working. The handling between inputs not working properly. Network issues with no connection. The list is endless. The last straw came two days ago when the network randomly made a private IP so no secure login connection could be accessed from the home. No Apple TV. No apps on Apple TV (Netflix HBO etc), no banking, no vpn, nada. The Ovrc system I pay an additional subscription for yearly to help trouble shoot my network also didn't work (of course) because it also requires a login! I emailed 3x regarding this issue as COVID has pushed me to WFH and this requires a login...go figure...only to sit looking into a blank inbox from AVDG (on my phones LTE of course - because email also requires a login). Even as I write this review I have to use my phone because yelp will not allow the connection between whatever rogue network randomly took over in the middle of the day. My "smart" home setup has become essentially useless. I can't use any of my devices and can't work from home. While I do understand that sh*t happens, the lack of response and support for the amount of money spent and the yearly subscription just goes to show you the unbelievably terrible service of AVDG. I WILL NEVER work with this company again. I do not recommend you do either. Find someone else as this is probably one of the most terrible experiences for the money I have ever had.

Immediately putting me on the defensive. I felt like I was arguing with someone that I was attempting to gain information from, in order to pay for services. Once I finally told him that I did not feel like I should have to defend myself, nor fight about trying to get services, only then did he tell me that without purchasing any equipment from them, just the installation was $450.
