From start to finish...Dr. Gaddis and her team make going to the dentist a stress free experience,…read moreand that says a lot coming from me...when I walk in I am greeted by my name (it's like they know who I am or something) taken back by my hygienist (Mingee) who is professional, focused and thorough and Dr Mary follows up with a comprehensive check of my teeth/mouth/gums...I couldn't ask for a better experience! Even with the current Pandemic situation they are like a well oiled machine...I love being able to sit in my car till I'm called up (on time) and everyone is masked and practicing safe standards that made me feel comfortable during this very uncertain time... Kudos to the whole team...you all ROCK!!

I transferred dentists as part of a move from Raleigh to Durham and based on a referral from a…read moreneighbor. Unfortunately, we did not have a good (net) experience. We are a family with fairly healthy teeth, practice regular hygiene and dental cleanings, and had no significant issues 10 months (long stretch due to Covid) prior at our prior long-term dentist--upon seeing Dr. Gaddis, multiple cavities, root canals, and others services were promoted, many of questionable need. Pros: Good location, nice office, new equipment/technology, thorough hygienists, nice staff (for the most part), good bedside manner (for the most part) Cons: 1. Wife was referred for THREE root canals, ALL of which our endodontist told us he has no idea what Dr. Gaddis was referring to. Gaddis also referred us (like all her clients) to an endodontist that has many poor reviews, which was an early red flag, and why we ended up selecting our own (that is highly reviewed). It also raises the specter of potential quid pro quo between the two practices. 2. Gaddis told me my daughter needed sealant because of her baby teeth cavities being an indicator for her proclivity to cavities. When I said my prior dentist told us baby teeth are not a good indicator for cavities in permanent teeth (because they're weaker, less enamel, etc), she said "I don't recall hearing that in school". After a quick Internet search, I confirmed it is well known amongst professionals in the field that baby teeth cavities are NOT a good indicator for the health of adult teeth, leading me to conclude Gaddis either doesn't know some fundamental facts in dentistry or is intentionally discarding what she knows to promote more services (consistent with Con #1)...either of which is not good. 3. Front office staff can be a bit edgy/dry/cold...not outright mean, but not generally warm, like our prior practice. It's not a deal-breaker on its own, but coupled with the other issues not helpful. We were really hoping that we'd found a new dental home and allowed benefit of the doubt several times, but ultimately too many red flags have pushed us back to our prior practice until we can find a better local option.

Best Experience Ever!…read more Like most people, I had always been afraid of the dentist, because I felt they did not care enough to be gentle and sincere. This time I thought was no different. Seeing my dentist leaving out of the office for her own appointment, my heart sunk. Her last words ringing in my ears "they will take care of you", and like a child I asked her "you promise"? She said "if they do not then you let me know". There was this amazing gentle man OMG, very, very kind, not belittling, not humiliating or making me feel ashamed. He actually spoke to me like I'm human and he actually cared. He said that he was going to treat me "like his sister". One of the most patient, gentle, kindhearted, nicest people I have ever met in my life's dental history. I do not know what his name was but no matter what, next time I will be running to my dentist hoping that he is there. Thank you for making this part of my journey a little easier. This was the best experience EVER! Pamela D

I was a patient here for almost 10 years, and somehow it ended with a sheriff's deputy showing up…read moreat my house over a disputed balance. No certified letter. No serious email saying, "We need to get this resolved." No real attempt to sit down and sort through the billing and insurance issues. It went straight from confusion to court papers. The case was later voluntarily dismissed, but then the account was sent to collections. There's also been a revolving door of hygienists and office staff. At one point, a very young family member--either still in high school or freshly out--appeared to be running the office. I'm not blaming one young person for everything, but putting someone that inexperienced in that position says a lot about the judgment behind the scenes. After watching employees come and go while the same problems continued, it became pretty clear to me that the issue wasn't just the latest receptionist or office manager. The problem seemed to come from the top. After nearly a decade, I expected a phone call, a letter, or even a harshly worded email before the sheriff entered the storyline. Apparently that was too much to ask. Keep every receipt, check every insurance claim, and get everything in writing. Based on my experience, I can't recommend this practice.

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Jenkin's office since we moved here four years ago. The main…read morebenefit for us is convenience -- within walking distance of our home. However, I have to say there have been several other conveniences, too. I've never had a wait before my appointment. The technicians are efficient, friendly, and professional. Until today, all of my appointments were just routine checkups. Today I had a filling repaired and it was painless. I'm not scared of the dentist, but I can still appreciate a gentle novocaine injection. The billing issues have all been problem-free, and we get reminder calls when appointments are coming up. The office is located among the Highgate professional offices in the parking lot across the street from where they are building the Tobacco Trail bridge extension over I-40. Dr. Jenkins' office is in the last unit in the back of the parking lot (past the UNC health center).

I have crazy bad anxiety and the thought of a dentist would literally send me into a panic attack.. sooo my dad called a place where they put you sorta under to do work and they were shutting down and they recommend us to go here. My first appointment here I was absolutely in love. I felt so welcomed coming in and when I met the Dr. Jenkins she was so kind and told me no worries we got this let's get started. She fixed me up completely. I love coming here the staff recognizes me soon I open the door. They have become like family to me and I'm so grateful we got recommended here. I 10000/10 recommend coming here if you are scared like I was. Thank you to this place for bringing back a smile I didn't think I would ever see !

Perhaps it's just the comparison to my previous dentist's office (in a dilapidated office park with no natural light), but RFD felt downright luxurious. The televisions at your chair are such a lovely touch and really help time fly during a cleaning. There are also wall-to-wall windows which is nice to have in a healthcare setting (they're covered with blinds, but still provide nice light). Both my hygienist and dentist were very kind, took their time with me, and made me feel welcomed. The dentist herself made sure my questions were addressed, talked to me about options for things, and was not pushy--as has been mentioned by other reviewers! But perhaps the best part is that I got an itemized list of pricing for future services at time of checkout. That is rare to find in healthcare and it helped me understand whether I could afford the recommended treatments. Pricing transparency in healthcare is desperately needed and I just wish everyone provided this service. I hope I can continue visiting RFD for years to come! I felt very appreciated and it was a great experience. I've been telling everyone I can to check them out!
