Today, I had an appointment with brian cahill, dds., in order to get some dental work. I walked out before it all started. I was humiliated by brian after he took off my hat without asking to remove it. Before taking off my hat, he said, "This is going to get in my way." Not only that, but his female assistant went to the hallway to laugh for a few minutes while she told her coworker who came over to look at me while I was sitting on the dentist chair. This was all totally unprofessional and disrespectful. I would have easily taken off my cap if someone had asked me to. I suggest you take your money elsewhere. I get the last laugh as they lost out on over $500 out of pocket money from me. My wife and I will never go back there. read more

Dr. Cahill has always been extremely kind to me. I had a really bad experience with one of the dentist at that same office.... it's notated in the system that I only preferred Dr. Cahill. He is treating me with kindness and respect. Dentistry is extremely necessary for all people. It is one of the most important industries that is a necessity, however, the most expensive.. the last interaction I had shamefully has been a while however it's because of the pricing and how they are shoving situations down your throat... And it's not even the dentist... I have an appointment tomorrow and I pray to God they can fix my teeth, they can regain the respect I have for the dentistry industry. Right now it's difficult for everyone. Everyone should get the same amount of healthcare no matter race or finance... I truly hope and pray things will work out for me tomorrow... Shady billing practices. Even if you pay copay/deductible that they ask for in every visit, they always find for you an outstanding balance. I've been paying those in every successive visits. This time again they found some balance months after the visit, but because it's been longer than usual since last visit, instead of calling or mailing me the due details, to my surprise, they sent a debt collector behind me (yes, to an established patient, for $8). They immediately lost me and my family as patients. read more

I checked my Metlife website and found RTD. I filled out my new patient paperwork online yet they called me at 7:00 am to get more information. I work late so I said I would call them back. When I called them back they said they called to get my insurance group number which was on the paperwork I filled out online. I got to my appointment and they said they couldn't find me even though the girl who made the appointment said she did. I was called up to give my copay and it was $204. I asked for what and they said I was out of network. I specifically asked if the took Metlife and they said yes. They never told me it was out of network coverage. Shady if you ask me. I had high hopes because of other reviews, but this was a complete bust. I have been having pain and now I have to start over. They could have told me I was out of network over the phone and saved a lot of grief. read more

This was a wonderful experience. I came in because of a split tooth from two weeks ago. I was able to call Research Triangle Dental and got a next day appointment, when everyone else was booked til March. Dr. Lopez and the hygienist were awesome. I felt well taken care of and they really care about you and your teeth. It was painless and all my options were explored and explained. The entire office was professional' personable and caring, all while being cheerful and upbeat! I love it! I've found me a new dentist and I'll make the commute from Greensboro! They made my follow up appointment for 2/4/21 and called the day before to reschedule for 3/26/21. Called the day before and again wanted to reschedule for 5/2/21. I had already taken the time off from work twice, so I declined appointment. I can understand a couple of days or so however, two months apart is a little much. If you're looking for a dental office you can rely on in your time of need, this is not the place for you. Worst dental office I have ever been afflicted with. You have to call more than once to set-up an appointment. And I recently reached out to them because I have cracked my tooth and I needed to make an emergency appointment and I was advised that they had no appointments available until two weeks from the day I was calling. I was advised that I needed to call another dentist to receive care for my cracked tooth. I have been with this dental office for almost two years. If I have to find another dentist for emergency dental issues, what's the point in been a patient here. Moving my business elsewhere!! read more

I visited their office for a deep cleaning. I was made very comfortable and was treated so well by the dental hygienist, Stephanie. She was concerned about my comfort and explained everything she was about to do so that I would feel at ease. Dr. Lopez was my dentist, he had great energy as soon as he walked in the room! A wonderful personality as well. And last but not least, the front desk receptionists are kind and super helpful! My overall opinion is this office is a 5 star office!!!...p.s. Best dental office I have ever been to. I recently had a lot of dental work completed due to changing insurance and having better coverage to afford these services. I've had fillings, root canals (yes plural) and basic maintenance. I have worked with Dr. Cahill, Tabitha, and Paige. All were great, personable, and professional. I always receive the support I need at this location. Riley, the outdoor receptionist, is kind and patient. The indoor receptionists are incredibly efficient. Today's hygienist, Stephanie, not only thoroughly cleaned my teeth; she also gave me some helpful tips about dental maintenance which I gladly took to heart. I'm not sure the name of today's dentist, but he was also very kind. From beginning to end my appt at RT dental was easy and safe. Initial check in was a breeze, quick questionnaire and a buzzer you take back to your car. Once inside my safety and dental health were the top priority of my hygienist Kristen. She was the highlight of the appt today. Very upbeat, great communication and very professional, a true asset to her profession and to RT dental. After the cleaning I got to see one of my favorite Dentists, Dr Cahill. After 5 years of going to Research Triangle Dental for dental care, I still recommend them as the best in the region. This practice is by far my favorite and what's miraculous, as Dr. Cahill will remind even me, is that I used to have dental anxiety, but no longer do. I used to hate the dentist so badly. However, I trust them and go for dental treatment, whether I'm insured or not and whether I have to drive from downtown Raleigh or am working nearby. They have quality customer care and great hours to make obtaining dental care accessible. There is a diverse set of dentists practicing -- these days it's primarily Dr. Cahill, Dr. Lopez, and Dr. Zubick -- and I have been cared for by all of them. Recently, I was in for a cleaning with my usual hygienist, Christina, and Dr. Cahill was out so I met the new dentist, Dr. Zubick. Very nice fellow. All dentists are delightful, caring, friendly, and thorough. Sadly, they discovered a minor cavity, since I'm so darn cavity-prone, so I returned again last week for the filling with Dr. Zubick. For the first time ever, I met Shelton, a dental assistant. Really sweet guy. There are so many genuine people who work there. A few hours later, part of my face was still numb so I called and spoke to Becky at the front desk. I was concerned and frustrated because for such a tiny cavity, it should have not had many residual effects. She quickly verified that they'd used a different topical/injection solution than before and it may take longer to wear off for me. It did so and I was back to normal again within a few hours. There is also very confirmation in advance of appointments and follow-up to appointments, as well, whether via email or text so they're doing a good job of staying in touch with their patients for efficiency and to ensure people had a good experience. read more

I am not a normal patient of theirs...I am up here because my husband's medical issues...I just have to say they are the best dentist I been to....I had a abcess tooth they got me in right away...when it was not getting better from meds they took me in right away again and got it pulled...I do have a fear of dentist and the dentist both of them were do nice and made me feel at ease. I've been going to this place for routine dental maintenance. Everyone is professional and courteous, and they have done a good job so far. My only complaint is that they are so popular that it is difficult to get appointments that are convenient ie after 5 or weekends since everyone wants them. If you want a Saturday appointment it will probably be at least 2 months out. They do follow up if there are cancellations and I was able to get a same day weekday appointment. read more

I went in a month ago with a lot of tooth and gum pain near one of my molars. The gum on the inside was visibly swollen and painful to the touch (I couldn't even chew on that side of my mouth). After multiple x-rays and prodding, the dentist determined that I was probably grinding my teeth in my sleep. This didn't make sense to me though because I was experiencing gum pain about a week before I had any tooth pain and I told him that. Also, the gum swelling looked more like a protruded lump, more like something specific. Anyways, the meeting concluded with me just getting a prescription for ibuprofen and being told to come back in a few days if the pain persisted (which I already told him the pain was about an 8 out of 10, the side of my head had been aching for 2 days from the pain, and I couldn't chew food.) Literally 4 to 5 hours after my appointment I was in more pain than I've been in despite taking the ibuprofen. The gum looked visibly infected with sharp red lines and increased inflammation. Within a few days it had gone from a shade of reddish purple into a thin white line and then another new bump formed a little further down my gumline. Now a month later the pain has gone away by 90% but I have three separate completely different lesions surrounding that molar now. I thought it was getting better as the pain has diminished, but it actually looks worse than it has to date. This was very clearly infected from the start and it bothers me that I was simply told to take generic pain medicine and walk it off. I'm starting to notice this pattern whenever I seek healthcare without medical insurance. I get a haphazard diagnosis with instructions to make another out-of-pocket appointment the same week before they can actually fix your problem despite the amount of pain you're in. This s*** is infuriating and it needs to stop in this country! read more

Terrible dentist. Butchered me multiple times. Had to have procedures redone on more than one occasion.They put an implant in before I left. They did such a poor job I couldn't stand it anymore. Now the implant has failed because of the horrible work they did. It is supposed to be warrantied, but they refuse to honor the warranty because I'm no longer a patient. Although, it's probably for the best, because it means I don't have to go back. It's worth the money to pay for it to be done correctly. There are many reputable dentists in the area. Avoid this one at all costs. read more

I have to share my experience with Triangle Dental, I experience a tooth problem while driving and this practice was the first dentist office that had an opening for my tooth ache at that time, which was probably in 2016. I had to have a crown which Dr. Lopez was GREAT!! Now 2018 I experienced another tooth problem and scheduled appointment to have an exam and I was told that I had to have a root canal. I followed up with the scheduled appointment to have the root canal but was told I did not have to have root canal but, other tooth issue to address. The major issue I have with this practice is the reception waiting area, the furniture is TERRIBLE it is worn all the way out, every seat I wanted to sit on is cracked and torn UGH, it looks like furniture from off the street, the practice really need to invest in new or up to date furniture in the waiting area. read more

Dr Quin and his Staff at RTD are a class act! From the time I entered the door his staff greets my family and I with a smile and welcoming conversation. The new Concierge "Carla" promptly greets you. She also gets you seated and offers you coffee & tea. Very relaxing and she even assist you in filling out the electric sign in process. The best part is of my visit is the service. RTD has a full dental service with great care for me the customer. RTD has up to date modern equipment for an amazingly low price. RTD is my family's go to Dentist here in The Triangle. The clinical team was skilled, professional, friendly and a pleasure even if I had to have a mouth full of impression material. As an out of state student, finding somewhere last minute when I had a wisdom tooth problem was scary - especially on a Sunday! After leaving a voicemail early that morning, they called back right away when they opened and squeezed me in with Dr. Erskine. She and Tiana made me feel very welcome and comfortable and immediately fixed my issue! The office interior is beautiful and updated. I've had several billing issues with this practice. I was charged twice for services (their error) and was told that I cannot have my money refunded to me until after the claim goes through, which could take months. Already almost a month later and still no refund of my money that was mischarged. On another occasion I had an appointment made for a cleaning for months in advance, only to be called that day (after I'd already taken off work to make my appointment time) and told that my insurance would not cover a cleaning until 1 month in the future and that if I wanted to keep my appointment I would have to pay hundreds of dollars. This is poor service. While the dentists here are great, the front staff have completely turned me off to this practice. read more

They have really great customer service. Downside would probably be scheduling. Just make sure that when you schedule your first exam and cleaning - that they really understand that you want to do both on the same day. I had to take off work to go in and, I waited a bit and then did the xrays and exam... I mean he looked at my teeth, told me nothing was wrong with them. Then told me I had to come back for the cleaning. I mean not that going to the dentist isn't a fun part of my day or anything... but it was a bit out of the way and I was taking off work to go, so I kinda didn't want to go twice. read more

This is the best dental office I've ever been to. 1. they open late- I don't get off of work until 6ish and when I was researching a place to get dental work done, this is one of the only places thats open late on the weekdays... genius! 2. the front desk ladies are ALL so incredibly nice and welcoming. They really make you feel at home here. They make sure to give you a courtesy call to remind you of your appointment and also would let you know ahead of time with how much it cost (no hidden fees/surprises) 3. No one likes to go to the dentist, but this place is as good as it gets. They make you feel as comfortable as you can be and really do make you feel like they truly care about you and your well-being. 4. Dr. Cahill is wonderful. He's funny and caring but not over-bearing. He gives you the confidence to trust that he knows what he's doing and is sure to give you several options for ways he can go about fixing whatever your problem is. I was so worried when I got my root canal here but honestly, Dr. Cahill made the experience not so bad at all. He was detail oriented and careful. Making sure I was taken care of and informed (if I wanted to know) at every step. 5. the dental technicians are great! They are experienced and very nice. 6. I love their waiting area- with their various hot chocolate, coffees and teas... and also a great selection of magazines. In my 28 years.. I've never been to such a great dentistry. 5-stars!! I had a terrible experience here. I had a small cavity that needed to fill. This was my first time to fill a cavity so I didn't know what was going to happen. The doctor didn't tell me anything what he was going to do before he started either. When he suddenly stuck the needle into my mouth, I was really caught off guard and was startled. Before he stuck the second needle, I stopped him and asked if he could tell me what he was going to do so I knew what to expect. He did (thank him for that), but seemed very impatiently. After he numbed my sensations, I had a bad reaction to the anesthetic for a while (I was dry vomiting). The doctor didn't explain what was going on with me and left the room. This was just a small cavity on the surface of one of my teeth. It seems to me that the anesthetic wasn't even necessary. The doctor didn't bother asking me if I needed that or not. The later part of the operation went OK but overall it was a terrible experience. The doctor seems to be experienced and may be a good doctor, but from my perspective he didn't do a good job in communicating with his patient. I won't recommend this dentist to a friend. read more

I couldn't be more pleased. As a person who has been fearful of the dentist and avoiding going for 7 years, my first visit completely changed my mind. From the reception area to the practicing staff, I was warmly welcomed and made comfortable during my entire visit. I mustn't forget the updated technology within the office; This sure isn't the stuffy old dental office you're used to. There is free WIFI while you wait, but you won't be waiting long, and the x-rays and charts are all digital. Plus, you will notice as soon as you walk in, they all obviously have a commitment to excellent service. I will be sure to recommend RT Dental to anyone who has a fear of the dentist and is looking for the right place, heck I will recommend them to everyone.
