Dr. MELISSA HILL! I can't speak to the other doctors at this location, but I've seen her 3x and she's FABULOUS. I really USE Yelp reviews and read them carefully because I really want to know WHY you like a doctor (it is just cuz you think he has "dreamy blue eyes" or is it more?) SO...HERE'S WHY I LIKE DR HILL: 1. I'm 67, fit, active -- walker, runner (not "serious" -- walk/run 2-3 miles 4-6x a week -- swimmer in summer and Fuel Fitness). I have hard plastic orthotics that I've worn for THIRTY YEARS. I assumed, when I first visited Dr. Hill, that my feet have changed over the past 30 (!) years and the orthotics would need to be replaced (not cheap, totally necessary). In other words, 30-yr old orthotics were an engraved invitation to "sell me" new orthotics. Dr. Hill held them to the bottom of my feet and said "well, these still look fine..." I'm not an untrusting person -- but THAT inspired trust! 2. She is a real "problem solver." She doesn't just reach up to her mental shelf and pull off a pre-formulated answer. She really listens and THINKS. And she's very clear, plain-spoken and practical. I have spent $2500 out of pocket (after insurance payments) trying to find out what is causing pain in my right ankle and base of my toes on right foot. 3 x-rays. 3 visits to EmergeOrtho (I could write an essay -- but let me just say I will NEVER EVER return to them -- waste of money. One doctor would contradict the next!) Visited Duke Sports -- and 3 Physical Therapy visits, who said it was tendonitis and only PT exercises would help, over a long time. Exercises DID seem to help -- but still definitely "something not right" and I've been scared to run and scared to do a lot of walking for fear I might cause some kind of real damage. 3. Dr. Hill heard my tale...took xrays. Said "I think what's going on here is complex." Said legs are likely aching due to: 1. my venous insufficiency (wear those compressions socks!). 2. Looks like I don't put the normal amount of pressure on my big toe -- causing the 2 next to it to be bearing more -- getting sore. 3. The two toes next to my big toe slant a bit towards the bit toe. Narrows the gap between the bones on both those toes, possibly somewhat pinching all the things that run between those bones. Said the hard plastic orthotics can sometimes cause an issue -- so go to a store and buy some insoles with heel cups (those were $10 -- so NOT a huge expense). Said to be better about wearing compression sock. When I said "so...why does the middle toe on my right foot stick up like that when I try to curl my toes? Still doing that after a year -- what's causing it?" She said "I have no idea. See? No b.s. -- Just one more reason why I like her. :-) read more

Dr Hill permanently ruined my toenails with a simple ingrown toenail procedure. When I went to a different podiatrist to have him fix what she had done, he said she used a technique from the fifties on my toes. On top of that, she did the procedure to both toenails, even though only one needed the work. Why? Perhaps because she is a sadist. That was the vibe I was getting. Incredibly rude, dedicated to my pain. She shouldn't be a doctor. read more

This review relates to a visit to Dr. Melissa Hill. It was ok, and I'm figuring she is very competent, but I just sensed that she was a bit bored by my symptoms, pain in right ankle. She saw a growth on the back of my lower leg and wanted to biopsy it (I'm 78 yrs old and have such growths all over.) I said, "I'd rather have that looked at by a dermatologist." She thought I should see a neurologist for numbness in feet. She may be right, but my first thought was "here I go down the medical referral rabbit hole." She did use a tuning fork to test numbness which was very informative. Then a referral to Labcorp for a blood test. I'm just not a fan of Labcorp... too many settlements of lawsuits. Then a $37 unannounced extra charge for shoe inserts. As I say, OK but uninspiring, my first ever visit to a podiatrist. I doubt I'll go back. Probably will look for a podiatrist who makes me and my feet feel just a little bit special. read more

I would give this place 5 stars but due to the very unpleasant experience in their billing department I can not. Dr Sotelo removed my toenail and I would highly recommend him, but be very careful when it comes time to pay your co-pays. The person in billing is rather rude and will admit she probably won't have time to look at your issue and help you. Once they get your money they won't have time for you. One of the worse experiences I have ever had to deal with. read more

I found Dr. Sotelo to be a really good doctor for my ankle issue, and he was great interacting with my special needs daughter - making tolerable what could have been a very distressing procedure. We will always miss our wonderful Dr. Iredale, but are grateful to be left in good hands with Dr. Sotelo. read more

I first saw Dr Sotelo for a simple matter, and since he was to be out of town for the follow up procedure, he arranged for Dr Melissa Hill to check on my condition. However, instead of just checking to make certain all was well (by then I had no pain), she repeated what had been done previously, leaving me in lasting intense pain and unable to walk. Avoid her at all costs; I most likely will have to sue her! read more

I found Dr. Sotelo by way of my husband's need to be seen by a podiatrist. What the other provider could not do Dr. Sotelo did not hesitate to do. His manner is great and his knowledge and skill are wonderful. On a scale of 1-10, he is definitely a 10. I found him to be thorough and thoughtful. Easy going. The office staff is friendly and engaging too. read more

I brought my 17 year old daughter for what turned out to be an ingrown toe nail. Dr. Liao diagnosed what the problem was and removed it the same day - A single visit. In addition, he took time to explain the issue, showed me what he was doing while he did it and what caused it. Not only did he answer my endless questions but he did it with a smile and a sense of humor. I have never enjoyed going to a doctor as much as I did there - although I do have to admit I wasn't the one getting my toenail removed. Can't recommend a doctor any more than I would recommend Dr. Liao. read more

I have never gotten such good medical care anywhere else. Dr. Sotel was the best! I had an ingrown toenail and before I new it, he had done the procedure and I didn't feel any pain, even after . its almost well now, no problems, I would highly recommend this dr Sotel and his staff. they are all very friendly and welcoming. read more

The front desk staff was very friendly but that Dr. Heel was awful blew me off and apparently was having a bad morning if I knew this is how it was going to be I would have spent my money else where!!!! read more

I had been going to a local Hospital Wound Care Clinic for a blister on my foot that wasn't healing -- I tried Central Carolina (Dr. Liao and now Dr. Sotel) and the regimen I am on has improved to 90% of total healing! The office staff are incredibly thoughtful and I enjoy the care and knowledge of everyone there. HIGHLY recommend Central Carolina! read more

Billed for a procedure that I am not responsible for according to my insurance. I would have never agreed to this procedure if I had known it was not covered by the insurance. Insurance said it was not medically deemed necessary. I am currently trying to work with the insurance company to get this resolved. Amber in the billing department has been nothing, but rude to me and the insurance company. I keep getting bills and now they have even added billing charges. Way to stick it to your clients. I will never go here again or recommend to any friends or family. read more

Total incompetence. This practice is about generating income. I went to CCFA after I read their claims to cure nail fungus in two simple treatments. I met the doctor and was a good candidate for pinpoint laser treatment for my onychomycosis. I received my two treatments and had about a 10% improvement. A very long ways from the advertising that led me to believe that I would be cured. (I see that CCFA has revised their advertising dramatically. It just says it helps now.) When I mentioned to the doctor that I felt a bit cheated he said that the laser does not kill yeast (Candida). He then took a culture and it came back as yeast (Candida Albicans). The doctor prescribed me with the standard yeast killing pills. No change whatsoever. Hey wait - I am feeling more cheated than ever, the doctor said I had onychomycosis and was happy to take my $750 to provide laser treatment. Now he says I have candida and that the lasers wont help. LESSON - DO NOT PAY FOR LASER TREATMENT FOR ONYCHOMYCOSIS UNTIL YOU HAVE VERIFIED WITH A CULTURE. If your condition is Candida (most are according to my regular doctor) then you can treat this yourself. The CAUSE of the infection starts in your gut. You can go to symbionprobiotics to get the full technical explanation and the cure (probiotics). This candida overgrowth causes many other health issues that are nearly impossible to diagnose. Modern doctors do not understand this overgrowth and would think you crazy to make such an assertion. I have experience - I know. After I started taking symbion probiotics my other candida health problems evaporated - FAST. Foggy memory, muscle cramps, itchy ear canal, itchy skin, acid reflux, IBS, and on and on... To get that funky fungus out from under your nail it will take some time. Now that you are combating it internally you can also combat it externally. There are oils "FungaVir", prescription topicals "Penlac", "Jubilous" or you can simply soak your nails in hydrogen peroxide as often as possible. Olive leaf extract helps boost your internal immune system as well. Are here is the biggie: DO NOT EAT SUGAR. Yeasts thrive on sugar. Reduce or remove sugar from your diet as much as possible to help starve the candida. After informed the good doctors at CCFA of this information and explained to them that I was really feeling cheated after paying $750 and then additional treatments for a grand total of $1,500. I was informed that they are refusing to accept my appointments any more because I don't respect them and their professional opinion. All that being said, I find CCFA group to be deceptive, incompetent and above all arrogant. Treat yourself for free or if you are loaded with cash and want faster relief then buy the laser treatments. Bottom line, you will never get cured until you get your gut straight. Since CCFA is aware of this and doesn't inform you, well this is the part that solidifies that fact that CCFA does not want you cured - they just want to keep treating you - forever. read more

Dr Iredale is great! He talked about retiring but I hope not too soon because he really cares about his patients and it shows. The girls in the office are so sweet and helpful, too. They seem to really care about everyone that visits them. I had a billing question--who likes to deal with insurance-- and Debbie was so helpful in resolving an issue that I just had to write about it.
