Dr Carrol, when I saw him a while back kept pressing me to have surgery. The man would not even…read morelook me in the eye. He would not tell me why MRI said. He kept saying you need rods in your back and he wouldn't even consider anything else. When I kept telling him no he flounced out of the room like a child. Dr. Carrol also was quite perturbed and unhappy with me because I told him the first shot in my back he ordered did not help. He wanted to argue about it. I started seeing Dr. Musante who was excellent! Doctor Musante told me what my MRI said about my having scoliosis and two ruptured discs in my lower back and a pinched nerve. Dr. Carrol didn't think I had a right to know and was too occupied with wanting to cut my back open. I wanted a second opinion and was referred to Dr. Musante who was honest and compassionate with me. I would not recommend Dr. Carrol to anyone. Dr. Musante and Dr. Arcedo are wonderful. They listen and do their best to help you and have a lot of compassion.

What a HORRIBLE experience for my family at Duke Orthopedic Clinic in Durham!! My niece dislocated…read moreand fractured her elbow, and a STAT referral was sent to Duke Ortho for her to be seen by a Pediatric Orthopedist due to the possibility of needing surgery (a copy was given to my sister). After waiting 3 days to hear back, someone finally contacted my sister to let her know it would be December 1st before my niece could be seen!! My sister was called back today and informed that they could see her at 1:45. After pulling my niece out of school, and driving over an hour to get to the clinic in Durham, the lady who scheduled the appointment told my sister that they had scheduled it with the wrong doctor, that the Pediatric Orthopedist wasn't in today and that they couldn't see her :(!! Not only was the lady who scheduled the appointment wrong rude to them...So was her immediate supervisor!! They then sent my sister on a wild goose chase to find another orthopedic clinic that could see her today. Thankfully Triangle Orthopedic Specialists were able to see her this afternoon...So a HUGE THANK YOU to them for working her in. Duke Healthcare should be ASHAMED...The way this has all been handled on their end has been totally UNACCEPTABLE...And you have definitely lost our business!!

This review is only for the appointment coordinator that answers the phone. My mother is a new…read morepatient today to this clinic and is coming from a nursing home. I have worked in healthcare for over 30 years and I could not believe the lack of professionalism and complete hostility of the person that answers the phone at this clinic. I was calling to confirm my mother's appointment today and the lady that answered when you hit option 1 downright sounded angry off the jump. She didn't say who she was when she answered and I was confused, so I asked "is this scheduling?" And she said "what do you want ma'am!?". I then asked what her name was and she hung up on me. Literally that was it. I feel bad for the elderly patients that call in hoping to speak to someone with medical compassion. Hopefully the rest of my mother's visit will go well today and if it does, I will be updating my review..

I went in in pain and after a number of months I had to use a rollator. Since he THOUGHT?? I wasn't a surgery candidate he was not interested. I sure hope this dude doesn't have a mother a wife or a child. He'd kill them. Loser loser

I was so glad that my physiatrist Dr Tawney referred me to Paul McAndrew for Feldenkrais therapy at…read moreWellness Station several years ago. I have now been seeing Paul for my back and hip pains for many years. I appreciate his thoughtful analysis of my situation and his personalized formulation of exercises to alleviate my pains. He has helped me understand the science behind Feldenkrais and the interplay of my skeleton, nerves, and muscles. Part of the therapy is developing a kinesthetic sense/body awareness so that you can compare movements on one side of your body versus the other side. Paul is expert in directing your attention and asking the right questions. As Paul is also a licensed physical therapist, my appointments are partially covered by Medicare and my secondary health insurance. My sessions at the moment are via video telemedicine and they have been an excellent resource for care in my home. Paul's experienced eye catches movement disfunction. Recently he asked me to direct my computer's camera to an area where I could walk. He watched. And I returned to converse with him via my computer screen. He said, "I'm going to show you an exaggerated version of how I saw you walk." He proceeded to walk with a distinctly hunched over old-person's walk, and then he said, "I could see you beginning to walk like this, so let me show you exercises you can do to counteract this tendency you are developing." I don't want to move with pain, or walk like an old person. I rely on Paul to make this possible.
