Quinoa + Asparagus + sweet potato's + charred chicken
Suzanne M.

Food - 5 stars Cleanliness - 2 stars Employee friendliness - 3 stars Stopped here for a quick healthy bite. I was visiting from out of town and never heard of Dig. Loved the menu and healthy choices. The ordering was easy but the staff wasn't exactly helpful. The restaurant didn't feel clean but the bathrooms were disgusting. And to top it off, no soap in the bathroom. Food was good and wonderful alternative to the usual, but if you're looking for clean don't come here.

The ordering is simple. You walk up to the worker and you choose from a bowl to a sandwich or salad. There's plenty of kid friendly options. Its flavorful and healthy compared to other fast food spots. I loved the kid corner too for my restless toddler lol. The decor is pretty and inside was spacious. If you want to eat out without the guilt of greasy food then this is the place.

Walking in here was so fun, it gave me a throwback to a cafeteria scene but more elevated and fun to be in! It was a walk up to the counter to order and then bringing your plate to one of the dine in tables. Workers were friendly. I ordered a custom plate with crispy chicken, cheesy cauliflower, and kale caeser salad. Cheesy cauliflower was my favorite on the plate because I can really taste the cheese which tells me they put alot on it. It made the cauliflower really flavorful and a good balance on the plate. Crispy chicken wasn't dry and had a nice crust Kale salad had a good bit of textures with the kale and cashews complementing each other Overall, this is a solid place to get a homey meal but also feel at home. Service was really quick which can make this a quick bite to grab. My only thing was the food was a bit cold.

First time at Dig and honestly I'm unsure what took me so long to try. The food was great, veggies are packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. I ordered the kale and cashew along with side of carrots and broccoli. The protein was crispy chicken Eritia served me and she was very pleasant. Ambience was nice for a brief second, it gave me west coast vibes ! I will definitely be back.

Shout out to Eritia. The carrot cake is my absolute favorite. I've been a fan of Dig since it opened in Stamford. I am for the farm to table, sustainability thing they got going. It's a perfect place to eat and not feel guilty, food is flavorful. Sometimes I just wish it were warmer. Got the Spicy Salmon Avocado Bowl, replaced the rice for mash, I love a mash with the peel. My husband got the hot honey chicken, he's a fan. The mac and cheese is a little runny, but it's deceiving because it taste pretty good. It's a staple that we generally go back to often. I love the space, it is pretty nice.

DIG is a small chain of fast casual locally farm-sourced restaurants that opened in Manhattan, New York in 2011. It was founded by Adam Eskin. After graduating from Brown University with an economics degree, Eskin entered the world of finance and started working for Wexford Capital: a private equity firm. Eventually the firm acquired a small chain of health food restaurants called The Pump Energy Food, which targeted the fitness crowd. Eskin was tasked with transforming and reviving the chain. In 2011, he rebranded the business as "DIG INN" with a completely new menu focused on local, seasonal produce at an accessible price point. The chain was initially only located in Manhattan before branching out. The name of the chain was later changed to simply "DIG". As of 2024, there are now 33 locations nationwide. My family and I recently ate lunch at DIG's location in Stamford, Connecticut. This location, which opened in April 2023, is the first to open in Connecticut as well as the first stand-alone location. The building on High Ridge Road was home to the Bull's Head Diner for many years. The place was super clean and we were really impressed with the menu items which consisted of a lot of salad and grain bowls. I ordered the "Hot Honey Crispy Chicken Sandwich Combo" (crispy baked chicken thigh served atop mixed greens with dill pickles, hot honey, and ranch on a potato bun) with a side of Mac & Cheese, my wife ordered the "Hot Honey Chicken" (glazed charred chicken, sheet tray carrots, charred broccoli w/lemon, mac & cheese, served w/ maple honey sriracha), our older son ordered the "Kid's Pizza", and our younger son ordered the "Goofball" (meatballs in spicy ragu, brown rice, mac & cheese, apple slices). Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful! We're very happy that we were able to sample DIG's delicious food and we hope that we can enjoy more of their delicious plates in the future.

ORIGIN: This is the first Connecticut location of DIG. It opened spring 2023. LOCATION: The site is a renovation of a glass block clad 1980s deco-inspired diner that was known for decades as Bull's Head Diner. EXPERIENCE: DIG is a reliable destination for flavorful, healthy, and quick meals, but the Stamford site is my favorite. Here are the reasons: Family Friendly There is a quiet corner where it's easy to entertain young children while also enjoying time meeting a friend or family member. The bathrooms also have step stools for children, something rarely seen elsewhere. Patio Umbrella-covered picnic tables with a wrap around cement wall creates an oasis to enjoy nice weather dining. Refrigerator Case of Beverages There is a tall refrigerator case with a variety of unique beverages, including sodas and craft beers. It's fun to find something new and already chilled when visiting. Expanded Menu This location has a larger list of menu items, including sticky carrot cake, sliced steak options, and a brunch menu. Plates! This location serves dishes on plates with metal service ware... the presentation is so much nicer than paper bowls. Mini Coffee Bar There is a mini coffee bar area where you can refresh coffee and add milk etc to your liking from straight out of the mini fridge. Table service Like other DIG locations you place order and pay at counter, but at this location you are given a flag to place at your chosen table and the food is brought to you when it is ready. Take Out There is a separate side door for take out,

We have come to Dig in Stamford often and the food is excellent. But I have to say the last two times , there has been a problem with receiving the food. The last time my 98 yr old mother in law had to wait an extraordinary amount of time for her food after ours was received. Today the same thing happened. Our meals came and my husbands food came after repeated check ups and after we all finished our meals. It's pretty frustrating. Seems like they forget about some of the orders. I don't really understand the problem . Will prob come again as they have good food and good vegetarian healthy options. Staff are friendly , but if they can't get the food out in a reasonable amount of time it is frustrating.

We had a Yelp elite event at Dig last night, and I am happy to say that I would totally come back and enjoy this restaurant. The restaurant itself is amazingly decorated. It's very clean and very cute inside and outside. They even have some outdoor seating with lights so that would be awesome in the summer. The food is really delicious. I love the farm to concept that Dig has. I know I'm eating good clean food that also satisfies my cravings. I also like how they have a seasonal menu that changes I think that's really cool and brings a lot of variety to the table. All the staff was so friendly and brought out the food very quickly. The whole experience was very accommodating, and I felt very taken care of. My favorites: crispy baked chicken, flourless brownie, mashed potato, brussel sprouts, and mushrooms

Nice little spot for some brunch! Went family stopped by because we remembered the diner that used to be in the same place. Little did we know it had turned into Dig! We all ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on delicious focaccia bread. The sandwich was so tasty! The one thing I will say is that there were several groups eating (maybe 4-5) and many people working in the kitchen, but it took a long time for our food to be ready. This wasn't something that I would consider to be a bad thing, but we arrived hungry and definitely noticed the delay by the time we received our order. It was about 30 minutes, but hopefully that's not the norm! The restaurant was really clean and nicely designed, with plants everywhere. A really nice touch! Plenty of parking, too.

It was my first time. Amazing. Highly recommend. The food is so delicious. My counter team member was super friendly, attentive and helpful great service. Love the ambience and natural organic feel.

Love that there is a closer location to me! We especially love this location because of how kid friendly it is! They have kids meals and also a little area to entertain the kids. Hubby and I love coming here as we feel it is the healthier fast food option and delicious too! Not to mention our little guy loves it here!

After that our server just seemed to disappear. My daughter had hangar steak & eggs. I had the pork carnitas and eggs. Both our order's eggs were ordered sunny side up. Typically it's the yolks that are runny but both of our orders had runny whites as well. All this time we waited on the other appetizer to arrive. For a place that was not very busy the service was galactically awful. The food was passable but not great. The banana bread appetizer arrived as the busboy came to take our entree dishes. And that was after 2 reminders to our waiter (both appetizers were taken to go). Whoever is running this place (nobody game by asking how our meal was) should be embarrassed. When i spoke with our waiter about the abysmal service he passed it off on the busboy! There is no sense of teamwork nor pride in doing a good job. Sad.

When our food finally came, I was forced to look at the most unappealing home fries that were molded to the plastic container they were stored in. At least try to make them look fresh bru. And the whole restaurant was cold. I was cold. The food was cold. This place should be called COLD Street Diner, am I right? And the coffee refill came like once. In the whole hour and a half we were there. The only times someone would walk by was to clear a table, or that guy idk who he is idk if he's the owner but he was wearing balenciaga sweatpants and then he would just go stand by the register to sip on some wine. My mother ordered the huevos rancheros and they were bland asl. I ordered the birria omelette and it was BLAND EVERYTHING WAS BLAND!!! The birria was just wet it didn't taste like anything bro. We haven't been to the Norwalk location but a lady sitting next to us noticed that we weren't happy with our food and she was speculating that all the good cooks got transferred there. The poké is a generous portion, so do yourself a favor and ask for more wonton chips. There's a small charge of $1. Well worth more chips to scoop the rest of the tuna, avocado, and cucumber marinated in teriyaki. We paired the starters with two peach bellinis and later tried a festive green mimosa created just for the Stamford St. Patrick's Day parade. Street parking can be a little challenging in the area because of the nearby offices and residential high-rises.
