Dear Fans, Horse Man here for another review. I went to the local pub of Dicky's where I enjoyed a hearty meal chicken tender basket. I walk into small bar I was greeted by such friendly staff ,but there was a creep at bar with 3 fingers just stareing at me! The meal took a little too long to cook even when there was barely anyone there. I got my chicken tenders with raspberry ice tea which I say was the bomb. I only had the chicken I don't like normal "bar" food only chicken. Let us get to the bad sometimes you get this waiter that is alway messing up order also some of the staff are just dumb! Also no free bread like Casa or chips ,and salsa. So like us end this off with a joyful note Dicky's wild hare is pretty yummy. Everything here was literally middle of the road. The soups at the salad bar were bland and horribly under-seasoned. The chicken on my sandwich was bland as well. After adding the BBQ sauce that was brought to the table, it helped the taste. The salad bar needed to be attended to a little better. Low items, wilted lettuce, just not that great. This is still one of my favorite places to eat but the quality of the service and the consistency of the food has diminished over the past year. Sometimes the food is amazing, sometimes it's very mediocre and prepared poorly. I think it just depends on what staff they have working that day but it's a bit of an issue when it's the difference between a great meal and a bland meal. read more

I moved to the Georgetown area 4 years ago and loved the food here. In the last year or so it's gone completely downhill. It just isn't what it used to be. Visited today (Tuesday), for the 1st time in months, to give them another try. Upon walking in, we noticed a sign on the door stating $3.50 pints and $5 appetizers. We were stoked. After asking our waitress which apps were included, we were told they had stopped that special TWO WEEKS AGO and that she'd take down the sign. When leaving, we noticed the sign was still up and took it down only to have the bartender put it back up. If they stopped the special TWO WEEKS AGO why put it back up?! We then went back in to ask our waitress about the special to verify that it indeed was over. She said she'd go remove the sign. Then the bartender states "It's just not every day". When I stated it WAS Tuesday, she decided they were "out of stock". Get your stories straight! read more

It's close to home, so we go for the convenience of the location. Food is decent, prices a little high, but nothing negative enough to keep us from going back. Service can be hit or miss. Used to be a great place with great food and beer until someone got the bright idea to run off the kitchen and general managers in Nov. 2013 . Food is now VERY subpar.The menu is also greatly reduced, and they did away with the kids menu, daily food specials, and free birthday meals. Portion sizes are greatly reduced. Nobody really seems to know what they're doing. On top of that the board of health closed them for a couple of days in Feb 2014. Really need to get someone that knows what they are doing in the kitchen or this place will disappear soon. read more

Wow. I use to love this place. Almost every Sunday go there and hit the salad bar or salad and pizza bar for cheap. Went there yesterday and all I can say is no thank you. The waitress was nice. They didn't have half the stuff my wanted to order. The salad bar went to crap. The soup was not good. We waited forever for the pizza to get done and it tastes cheap and frozen. Do yourself a favour and don't go here. So sad how they lost their touch after the health inspector came round to close them down. Well good luck staying open. Food is usually delicious but pricey. The wait for a table can be long, and the dining room is annoyingly loud at times. Also, the restrooms are absurdly cramped and freezing cold, but clean. Still, a miserable experience if you need to use them. My favorite menu item here is actually the house salad (unique because it includes red beans and rice), which you can order as an entree-sized item if you ask (though, I don't understand why this option isn't on the menu--after all, it IS their signature item). I like to pair it with a piece of their cornbread, which is moist and flavorful. The sweet potato fries are great. as are the red beans and rice featured in the unique house salad. Although I know the pizzas are quite popular, I'm not such a fan. I do like their flatbreads, though. I also used to order the chicken fingers every once in a while, though I won't again because they've stopped offering cottage cheese and I liked to pair it with them for a side option. I'd definitely skip the buffet. On our last visit, we had to wait quite a long time for drink refills, but that isn't usually the case at Dicky's. The service is hit or miss, though, depending on who you get and how busy it is. The atmosphere is lively and festive, and there's a lot of visual interest. The parking lot is cramped, and can be a disaster when things are busy. read more

Took over 15 minutes to get our drink orders. All in my party ordered the soup, salad and flatbread pizza buffet which cost extra for the pizza. Salad bar was good but we were there for one hour and 15 minutes and not a single new pizza was brought out on the pretty much empty flatbread pizza buffet and they only had one soup available that whole time when there was supposed to be two. read more

Terrible. They promote that their brisket is smoked for 6 hours. Hardly. It was grey, moist brisket that had no smoke ring, no flavor and looked like it had been warmed in a microwave bath. Used to be one of my favorite restaurants to visit while in town, but since the management changeover it's lacking in the things I enjoyed most. The menu has been narrowed down and they have lost a lot of the variety that my family came to depend on (having 2 opposite and very picky eaters), the pulled pork has been overcooked and dry (2 separate occasions), and the sauce for the Shaggy Snacks has become thinner and less flavorful (3 separate occasions). It's not that they have bad food or bad service, but it's no longer stellar like it has been for years. read more

This restaurant is unique. I always fancied the owner as someone who knew how to put a menu together. The choices of dishes through the years have been traditional fused with eclectic. My first flatbread was from here. I want to be completely honest by saying the food is very, very good! If you like well cooked smoked meats, this is your place. My family has never received a bad tasting meal here...However, during our most recent visit the service was absolutely horrible. For starters, we didn't receive silverware for our table until after our food came. I have two small children and was given crayons by the hostess. The paper to color on never came. Both my wife and I were plated the wrong entrees AND the wrong sides. After waiting for our correct orders, I made a second trip to the empty salad bar. The waitress had similar complaints from two nearby tables. She was hands-down the sole reason for our negative experience. I have witnessed Dickey's service before on multiple occasions with far better results each time. Bottom line: Food is always good. Service recently needs work. One bad apple can leave the wrong taste in someone's mouth. Two bad nights from one bad apple can contaminate a decent body of work. I will not be going to Dickey's for my free birthday meal this year. I will be back when I receive the same level of service from Granite City, Cheddars, or Ziano's. read more

Love the food and the prices are reasonable. The waitress, Shamenique and the blond female mgr. (?), ruin the atmosphere of the restaurant. We arrived at 9:30, and were greeted with, "We close in 20 minutes". I said, "Are you refusing our business?" She returned to closing down the salad bar. I said, "Are you going to seat us?" Then she said, "We close in 20 minutes". I said, "We know what we want". She seated us, we ordered right away, then she complained to the mgr. The mgr. came over and an argument ensued about the salad bar. The attitudes of the 2 workers were awful and we were out of the restaurant by 10:17. We would have been out sooner if they had been nicer. This restaurant has good food but an apology for the un-needed stress should have been made, since people go to restaurants to relax. read more

ZERO STARS (it requires at least one to post): absolutely abhorrent, subpar management and customer service...beginning with a staple of the menu item i ordered not being prepped, causing a 45min delay in our meals (outside of the 10-15 we were told it would additionally require)...after the initial wait expired, was asked if we would like an appetizer for our wait...when our food finally came out, to my surprise my dish was not thoroughly cooked, despite the eons it took to make: pasta was beyond al dente, broccoli was raw, and let's just say the "creamy Cajun" chicken was neither creamy nor Cajun; could brave only a few bites...when our bill came, shockingly they charged us for the appetizer they offered for our extreme wait...when the waiter returned, it was pointed out, along with the accompanying flaws with the food itself...the waiter went to speak with the manager, and without coming over herself, directed the waiter back to relay the message that the meal could not be comped, not even the single plate removed, but rather a measly 20% off the bill...done with Dicky's, and save yourself the disappointment read more

I may be bias since I am Katie's Aunt but I have brought so many people to Dicky's because I knew they would love it, and they do! It's sort of a family hangout..plus the patio is an amazing atmosphere to eat and drink. Oh and did I mention the food..everything is so good and the next time you go you don't know wheather you should try the same thing again or something else because there are so many choices..I'm kinda partial to Julian's cooking too..the best cooked spinach ever and the cucumber dip..I have to stop I'm getting hungry..I guess I'll be heading to Dicky's soon and so should you.. read more

Very good food...especially the BBQ. Service is on point and they recently upped their tap selection to 15....all but one being craft beer. Atmosphere is good, old-style horseshoe bar that tops it off. Would gladly recommend this establishment to anyone. read more

I have been to this restaurant several times over the years but my most recent visit prompted me to write a Yelp review. My wife and I went there on a Sunday afternoon around 3pm. They weren't busy and the waitress/hostess said we could choose a seat which we did. The waitress came to the table quickly and asked what we would like to drink. We said we would like some water and a beer list as they have many beers on tap. She brought our waters out but forgot the beer list. After we finally had the beer list and decided what we wanted we looked over the menu. It was a bit of time before she came back to get our beer order, and when she did, we told the beer we wanted and ordered our lunch at the same time. We both ordered the same sandwich, the Chicago Beef brisket sandwich with a side of Shaggy Snacks. We got our beers and it seemed like a long time had past when the same waitress came by to ask what we had ordered, seemed odd. The waitress finally came by with one Chicago beef brisket sandwich and Shaggy Snacks. We told her we had ordered two of the same thing. She came back with the second sandwich about 10 minutes later only it was missing the au jus and hot giardiniera peppers. She came by a little later and asked how everything was and we said good except the second order was missing the au jus and peppers. By that time I said forget those items because we had been there a long time and needed to go. She said she would comp the second sandwich. When we got the bill it was for two sandwiches and our beers, no comps. I paid and left only a 10% tip. We also noticed there was a pizza buffet with what looked like old stale pizza on it and didn't see any more being brought out. I hope someone wasn't waiting for fresh pizza. I will say our sandwiches were very good and would come back for those. I assume the waitress had a bad day or was out of her league. I won't hurry back. read more

Ordered a to go order consisting of 2 gyros, brisket dinner, and tun steak sandwich with Dicky's favorite hand cut fries. Fries were frozen fries not the real thing. I called the guy and he did not know why they call it that. I told him it is very misleading. They were soggy and cooked either in old oil or they cook other items in the same oil for fries. It was no good. The gyro slices are the frozen meat slices, which is no good. The tuna steak must have been cooked 30 seconds on one side and 30 seconds on the other. It was totally RAW. Very dangerous to serve food this way to a customer. I had to cook it further at home. I called them and they said sorry. They didn't offer to redo it. For a place that specializes in smoked meats and bbq, the brisket was dry and old and had no flavor. I was very very disappointed especially when they did not offer to make things right. I spent 48 bucks for very bad food. Maybe, the only thing that the place is good for is to drink and hang out - which I am not opposed to - but for the love of the designated driver who has to eat there - don't get him sick and serve him chips instead of your fries, tuna, brisket, and gyros. read more
