we had such a great experience today at Dickys. from the moment we walked in, our family was very well taken care of. it was the first time seeing our grandparents in a year because of COVID and they made us all feel comfortable while dining indoors. the waitress Kori was phenomenal and was incredibly kind and engaged with us the entire time. she answered all our questions, catered to my small kids (even put cartoons on their TV), refilled drinks/food quickly, and made us all feel like family. the service was TOP NOTCH! I highly recommend this restaurant - the food was delicious and not a complaint in the house. their patio is also wonderful, on a nicer day we would have enjoyed the outdoors on their deck. read more

I've been here twice, first time I ordered a pasta that was recommended by the bar tender. It then took nearly two hours for this pasta and other people at tables who had just arrived were served before me. The only nice thing was they covered my tab because of the troubl. I used to really enjoy this place and I keep giving it chances but they really need to improve their quality of food and service. The buffalo chicken wrap used to be full of pulled chicken and this time it was just weird cut up chicken and lettuce. The prices are honestly too high for mediocre food. The service is bad now. It took us 20 minutes to order and 20 minutes to get our bill. I like the patio I like the menu items but they definitely need to work on the freshness of the items for those prices. The service was terrible. Our food sat in the window forever. My tumbleweed was about a 1/2 cup of onion tid bits. The server offered more drinks but then forgot to get them. The reason we visited was because we heard multiple people recommend the food. Walking in the ambiance was immediately awkward. Patrons made us feel out of place with their staring and strange looks which our whole table noticed. It was an older crowd who seemed to look like they often visited. I feel like it's safe to say that people's biggest pet peeve is to spend hard earned money on bad food, this was one of those times for me. We ordered potato wedges, pretzel breadsticks and onion rings which were good. Typical bar food taste but nothing special. We then ordered a chicken sandwich, fish sandwich, brisket and brisket sandwich. We were all very disappointed. I usually take my food home if i don't finish but i definitely didn't this time. The food was flavorless. I ate the Mac and cheese because I was hungry but it tasted like nothing. I tasted the cornbread and I almost choked because of how dry it was. I blame myself for expecting the food to be as good as people say from a bar but i will not be back for even the bar food as you can find bar food like this anywhere in Fort Wayne. read more

Where to begin. I was training for not even for three days when I realized this place is DISGUSTING. Not only is there NO manager, (she's in LA 24/7) she has her sister running it (who is banned from every bar in Fort Wayne). My first day there, someone found a fingernail in their food! Come to find out the cornbread yall love so much, is being cooked, prepped, barehanded and it was HIS NAIL. I also trained behind the bar, when I lifted up the mat (on the counter) there was GUNK, and in that gunk, MAGGOTS. I will be contacting the board of health. The manager ANGELA, had no care in the world about the maggots as long as it got wiped up. I'm not sure how this place is still running, nor am I sure how people eat here. I DO NOT SUGGEST YOU DO. Our first visit to this local eatery was disappointing. We were seated promptly and drink orders taken and served. I ordered a brisket sandwich with a side of fries. The menu described this as smoked brisket. The meat was smothered with melted cheese and green peppers, adding very little in the way of flavor. The brisket (?) itself had no smoked flavor whatsoever; it seemed more like a piece of roast beef cooked in the oven. Barbeque sauce didn't even help add any flavor. The fries were soggy and pale, not hardly fried. My husband ordered the jambalaya which is one of his favorite dishes. The chicken and shrimp appeared to be cooked separately then placed atop rice and beans, way too spicy even for jambalaya, with some chopped tomatoes. (Note: jambalaya doesn't contain beans.) My husband ate the chicken and shrimp and left the rest. I make jambalaya at home from an authentic recipe - this didn't come close to any jambalaya we have ever had. As a Fort Wayne local, I had been here years before and was underwhelmed by food and service. Hadn't been back until we were searching for a shrimp po'boy did a quick order for carry out. Plenty of outside covered seating. Great friendly service. Nice beer selection. Addictive cucumber dip for potatoes and onion rings. Brisket was outstanding - Smokey and moist first visit. I was in the area overnight on business and this place was suggested to myself and my co-worker as a dinner location, so we decided to check it out. It was Monday evening (06 May 2019) and there were less than 10 other customers in the place, which seemed fairly clean. My co worker ordered the standard BBQ pork platter and I ordered the fish and chips, which according to the menu is cod. We both ordered a beer... co-worker got an IPA which he said wasn't too bad. I ordered a bourbon-barrel ale, which was completely flat. As for the food... co-worker said his pork was okay but very dry. My "cod" was actually thin strips of breaded tilapia (which I really can't stand and wouldn't have ordered if I knew). It was overcooked and rubbery. My coleslaw was mediocre. Both of our French fry orders were very good and hot.... best part of the meal. We both ordered another beer... We decided to try one the waitress was pushing and even gave us a flyer for, and it sucked. Kind of flat, and tasted like chemicals and liquid smoke. So we both got one more beer... a Sun King Mexican-style lager, and both of them were as flat as water. Myself and my co-worker are not the type to complain. We said nothing to our waitress about any of this. What good would it have done? The service was not too bad, and the waitress was nice.... but the food wasn't good and the beer sucked. read more

Dicky's 21 taps is actually the appropriate name at this juncture in time. Inside you'll find an eclectic decor bordering on tiki style, but with the standard beer signs, televisions etc. But you came here for the food.... I've eaten here too many times to count, and I will say it isn't what it used to be when it was Munchie Emporium, however, in the last year it's become better than it was 2-3 years ago. They do offer some smoked meats which are decent, flatbreads, and "Shaggy snacks" which are fried wedges with old bay and cucumber dip. They do offer a wide variety of taps, and have frequent tap takeovers and events which is quite nice. If you're on this side of town give it a try. Awful food + terrible service = A crappy dining experience. The food was too salty, it came to the table cool to warm and the server was moody and slow. Went with people who liked the "free birthday dinner" aspect , but who really don't have great taste in restaurants. Ohhh... forgot the flies Lots of flies. Frankly, there weren't enough good things about the dining experience to make it worth another trip over there. I have to say, this place surprised me a bit. I actually had never heard about it until the day we went, and they just happened to be hosting a tap takeover, which is always nice. So my boyfriend and I are looking at menus trying to decide where to go to get carry out. We live close to Dickeys so I checked out their menu. I'm from the South so when I see Jambalaya, pulled pork and cornbread on a menu, I have to check it out! We pull in and the place is packed! He goes in and places our order. They said it would probably take 30 minutes but it was ready in 20. We get home, open the boxes and my god the portions sizes are incredible! The jambalaya was absolutely amazing, the pulled pork was fantastic and the cornbread was the best I've had since moving her a year ago! And I know good cornbread! The honey butter for the cornbread was also delicious! I will absolutely be going back to try other menu options!! read more

Our service was horrible. We waited 7 mins at the hostess booth to be seated as 3-4 different employees walked past us. The bus boy ended up helping us. Our menus were sticky and had dried food on them. The menu has little to choose from. I got the tenderloin sandwich. It seemed like almost everything else was seafood or BBQ. The food wasn't really that good. My moms brisket was leathery. The new ownership/brand change has hurt this business drastically. Visited a month ago with 3 other couples and had the worst service ever. Our server could not answer any questions, and she proceeded to spill two drinks all over our table, with no apology. The fish I ordered was laying on the plate in a large puddle of grease and was so overcooked, it wasn't edible. When the server asked if I wanted a "to go" box, I told her the meal was so horrible that there was no way I would take any of it home. again, there was no apology or an offer to comp the meal, or even knock anything off the bill.
