The first time I've been to this store. It was neat easy to find what I was looking for. The customer service was okay.

A brand new store at Great Mall! They carry a lot of sports equipment/gear that you can think of. The store is huge with many things reasonably priced. The customer service that I experienced was great! I was looking for some toddler soccer cleats, couldn't find them, asked an associate, who then walked me to the section. Then, I needed advice on sizing, stopped another associate, who honestly told me that he wasn't sure but could get someone who's knowledgeable to help me out. 10 seconds later, an associate came to give me advice on sizing- for toddler shoes, cleats, and ball. I'm so happy with my purchase and the great service that was given. This will be my new go to place for sporting goods! read more

I went in today to check out a few firearms here at Dicks. The employees were a little nice about it, however; they need to be trained properly on how to handle weapons. First off one employee handed me the weapon without safety checking it and she flashed the barrel at the other associate. She just kept on handing me weapons without safety checking them. I called into the store and spoke with a "manager" when I asked for the store manager. Her words were "that's cool thanks for the heads up" hung up before I could even describe the employee to her. Very unprofessional and uncaring about a serious situation. From the beginning the associate was not comfortable around firearms and did not know how to handle them. If you are an authorized firearms dealer you should train your employees and if they are not comfortable than thy should not work in that area. read more

My Son got ripped off at this store, he bought a product here just to find out it was broken, he went back and returned, they did the return process but never gave him the credit back to his card, after three months of going back and forth with store managers we have decided to give up, I will never go back to any of these stores ever, I have also encouraged my friends and family members to NOT purchase anything from them to avoid a headache. read more

Came here at 9pm on a Saturday night to buy some ammo and Kathy ( I think was her name) at the ammunition desk was super friendly and professional. I bought a lot of ammo and she carefully packaged everything for me and let me know the prices on the ammunition I was buying and what would give me the most bang for my buck. read more

This should be a zero star review, but the guy who helped me in the shoes area was great. But Dick's as a store needs to learn how to ticket their items. The other reviews are spot-on about the horrendous customer service. Came to the store on a Wednesday night around 9:30pm to look at a fishing rod. I checked their website a few days prior and again the day I went, to find that the rod had "limited availability" at all Dick's locations. Got to the store, looked for the rod and found a 7'0 version. I was looking for the 6'6 version, which the website said was available. Flagging down an employee, I asked if he could check inventory or the back if they had a 6'6 version. As he begins to check his scanner, some dude in the gun section (100 yards away) tells him to close out the register and he'll help me. Dude walks over from the gun section and promptly tells me all they have available is here on the floor and there's nothing in the back (without checking a computer, scanner, barcode, item number, etc, etc). I explain to him what I saw online and asked how this store keeps track of inventory and how he would know whether or not it was available without checking jack! He proceeds to tell me it's near closing time and things get a little hectic (which was 1 hr away!). What does that have to do with you checking the availability of an item? It obviously does not and should not take an hour to do so! Long story short, other employees offered to check for me at that point to which I declined because I wanted to leave as soon as possible. I ended up unhappily buying the 7'0 version and asked a manager what she thought about my situation. She apologized and proceeded to say "Yeah, things come and go all the time so it's hard to know what we actually have." (facepalm..) Really, Dick's? Where do you find these people? read more

DICK'S is one of the few places I have ever "shopped" in a mall. Prices are standard though I'm amazed on some of the expensive items. Their rewards program, rare coupons, and sales ease the costs. I shop mostly bike and Nike stuff l, which aren't usually on sale. The place is really big, which means you need to ask the workers for help though as you know the opinions of other reviewers. I give it 4 stars with the restroom being a huge factor for me. read more

I would not recommend this place to anyone! Their customer service is horrible... I came on a Monday July 31 around 4 PM to look for some golf clubs, and the Asian "golf expert" employee was giving me a hard time when I tried out their demo clubs in the range. He was too lazy to watch the range himself, so he calls for another employee to watch his assigned department. Later he came back to the range and started to questions me. That is when I got offended... Dick's employee- "Have you play golf before?" Me- Sometime Dick's employee- "Do you know that the golf club you are holding is worth $499?" Me- (FYI The driver i was testing was a TaylorMade M2 $399)...Yea so what? Dick's employee- "if you break it, you will have to pay for it." Me- No i dont, it is a demo club... Dick's employee- "yes you do!" He would not stop arguing with me, so i had to tell another employee to call for the manager. I told her that i was not being treated right and the way her employee was talking to me was unprofessional. I ended not buying anything from that store and left. I will take my business elsewhere until they train their staffs again. For now, i will just stick to REI and Big5. When i first came in the store i wasn't greeted. When i walked around the store nobody bothered to offer me anyhelp and i was just having such a bad day already. i was so ready to just pay for my things and go on about my day. When i went to the register i was greeted by stephany . She asked about how my day was and made such good conversation. I went in this store with the intention of shopping for just a jogging shorts. I walked out with soccer ball, baseball bat, 2 pairs of running shoes, jackets and a whole slew of other sport items. All under $250 total. What a deal? I truly would recommend this store for everyone. The clearance rack is also a great bargain hunt. read more

Dick's is okay, they have a selection of stuff, but the customer service isn't that great. I like to bass fish so I look at their bass fishing lures, they have a decent collection of plastic worms, but I don't shop here too often for them. Come by sometimes to see if they have anything new I should be aware of. Personally, when it comes to bass fishing lures, I most often shop at smaller specialized shops. read more

I like that they offer coupons now and again to help you save money. Recently bought some sneakers for my child so it came in handy! Now, while some people are under the impression that the store does not support the second amendment, if they took time to read the the media statement they would see that it states: "We support and respect the Second Amendment, and we recognize and appreciate that the vast majority of gun owners in this country are responsible, law-abiding citizens. But we have to help solve the problem that's in front of us. Gun violence is an epidemic that's taking the lives of too many people, including the brightest hope for the future of America - our kids....We will no longer sell assault-style rifles....We will no longer sell firearms or ammunition to anyone under 21 years of age....We will no longer sell high capacity magazines...." So what a great costumer service.. an employee from this establishment took their time to make a yelp account to reply back to my tip about having slow cashiers.. I get it that you guys are busy helping customers but at that time of when we came here there were cashiers that was just chit chatting away not caring for how long the lines is. Even the people behind me were complaining that they should open more registers. As customers we see when employees actually make time for their customers.. chit chatting instead of helping customers while a long line equals unhappy customers (simple as that). that day in particular we were unnoticed. Was just here the other day to get a bike for my kid for a birthday present, so I couldn't bring him. I got help from darrick, he knew exactly what size and type of bike to get for my son. I had a terrible experience at this store. I came in around 7:30PM this evening to purchase a pair of shoes. After 20-25 mins of no greeting and looking for someone to help, I finally found someone and asked if I can try a total of 4 pairs of shoes. After giving her my request, it takes her another 5-10 mins to tell me she is finally getting my shoes as she was with another customer. Shortly after she came back with only two pairs of shoes and tells me I am not allowed to try on additional pairs because people steal from their store. I was taken back at first as I wondered why the heck she was telling me that and I felt I wasn't able to make a educated buying decision. I became more confused when a lady (white)5 ft away from had at least 5 pairs of shoes she was trying on. When bringing this up to the manager Chris, instead of offering a solution, he provided excuses of why he has to limit me to two pairs but didn't mention why they were letting someone else try more than I am able to. Shortly after I left the store but immediately came back in to retrieve additional information from Chris. From there, a girl at the register tried to detain me by saying I am not allowed to look for Chris because I was kicked out the store???? I WAS NEVER KICKED OUT! When Chris came spoke to me a second time, same thing, no solution but excuses and never once, apologized. Chris also refuse to provide me with the names of the employees that made such false acquisition and defamation. As you may be able to tell, I am still disturb of what happened. I realized I was profiled and accused of being kicked out which can lead to a trespassing charge if someone was to call security or the police based off of their assumption. Just because I am Filipino wore shorts and a cap does not make me a shoe thief! This is the first time in a long time I didn't work late so I was able to leave the suit and tie at home as I have a high visibility role in one of the leading technology companies here in the valley. Shameful, their Sunnyvale store didn't have such a policy as I was at their location today. If you have a "policy" enforce it, be consistent and teach your employees how to communicate with customers. Don't profile and accuse everyone of being a thief because they are of color. read more

I've finally found a reliable sporting goods store. They have everything I could ever dream of and the customer service was amazing. Chris the store manager was excellent, he was pleasant and helpful without being overbearing, which I greatly appreciated. He would leave to help other customers, but not before letting my family and I know he would be right back. He always came right back! By the end of the night we had everything we needed for my families camping trip. I was also witness to Jon R. who wrote a negative review about the store about a week ago. Jon R. was using expletives and was completely rude. Everything he said is exaggerated. Chris the manager completely kept his calm and handled the situation perfectly. Jon R. continued to scream of discrimination haha. He said he was never apologized to, but Chris said sorry for the inconvenience probably 10 times. Jon R. is just one of those people that try to be bullies and not listen to logic. Probably shouldn't have been a rude a** and you would of been helped. Come back with a better attitude partner. Thank you for being a great example of a quality, who offers great customer service. I will be a customer for life. Hopefully I never have to see Jon R. in there again. read more

This negative review is for the service and not the product. Was at the rifle counter and waited a few minutes with some question about a rifle. Clerk walk right past me and ask to help another customer without even looking at me. I really hate to make it racial but clerk was white and customer was white. After the customer said just looking, clerk asked another white customer does he need help. He said no and didn't even look at me again. By then, I'm already turn off by what happened. Message for Dicks management, all customers come in all forms and should be treated like paying customers regardless of the way someone looks. read more

They supposedly took over Sports Authority and were to cover a wide arrange of sporting goods - not so! Not only that but just try and find someone to assist! It's nuts! We stood for 20 minutes, waiting for help from someone the clerk promised would be "right there". It never happened! This store is good the company itself is really goods prices are good but the thing is some of the employees, they don't know a lot of what they sell or even talking about. I went to this great mall dicks sporting goods last weekend to buy some ammo. So me being pretty familiar with firearms and ammo I decided to see what some of the employees had to say about certain firearms and ammo. When I went in there was a guy with blonde hair and he was wearing a flannel shirt I don't remember his name but what this guy had to say about ammo and firearms was all BS!!! Almost everything that came out of his mouth was just not true or even close to the correct answer. Not only was he wrong it wasn't even busy when I was there and I had to wait a bit for him to ask me if I needed help when he was just sitting at the computer. I wish management would actually have someone there that has knowledge about what they sell. Dicks is a good company like I said and I really enjoy their store but it's just some employees don't know anything. read more
