CHRISTMAS GIFT EXCHANGE NINE MONTHS LATER When most of you clickbait this review of the title you maybe be asking yourself "Isn't there a 30-day limit for exchanges?" That's true. Last year for Christmas my cousin gave me a 49ers hoodie that was youth large; my size is regular large. When I went to this location I tried to exchange the hoodie for another size, but this store didn't carry that hoodie in stock. With the balance of the return I tried to find a 49ers apparel I liked. I couldn't find one I liked. Therefore I decided to accept the store credit for a future purchase. The credit I received was an in-store credit meaning I couldn't use it to purchase an item online. I went to the Dick's Sporting Goods website to see if there was a 49ers item that looked appealing. I waited several months until I found a 49ers apparel I liked. That event occurred last September. There's a saying "You don't find the clothes the clothes find you." There was 49ers hoodie I really like better than the original hoodie my cousin got me for Christmas. The hoodie had the right red color and the classic SF insignia along with 49ers lettering. I used the in-store credit and paid the remaining balance of the hoodie. Dick's Sporting Good has abundance of items that seem overwhelming, but sometimes they aren't a lot of items regarding sports apparel. read more

Do I like Dick's? Sure I do. First it's a humongous store with lots of high quality sportswear and accessories. All things for camping as well as skiing and all the sports gear you will ever need. The clothes shoes & boots are very expensive. Do you get what you pay for? Idk... The jury is still out on that! Sure you can find cheaper stuff elsewhere. But honestly the stuff they carry is pretty high quality. And you can see it and feel your purchases unlike ordering online... They carry fishing gear, guidebooks, maps water bottles & freeze dried foods and backpacks for hiking, camping or taking a walk in the park. They have a frequent flyer program where they email you coupons and give you heads up on specials. In the Pacific Commons shopping area. Lots of free parking. The curbside pickup is super simple and quick. Instructions easy to follow on the sign. I haven't had to go inside in awhile, but the service has always been hit or miss. I didn't have a good curbside pickup experience here, so only 3 stars. I want to just give two, but I'm always a believer in giving business the benefit of the doubt so I'll be nice and give them 3. Basically, I placed a curbside pick up order and it was rather disappointing. I mean, I am happy that the store offers it, but I left yesterday after picking up my order shaking my head. So here's the story... on Sunday, I realized that Father's Day is coming up. My dad loves tennis and basketball, so I purchased a Warriors hat & a Nike shirt for him online. The online process was fine... I selected my items, etc. Oh, and of note is that apparently I couldn't use my 10% new customer promo code for this? Anyway, I still needed to buy my dad the gift. So all good. No 10% off but proceed with the order, right. I received a confirmation receipt, then later in the afternoon, an email notification that my order was ready for pickup. All fine. I was not in the area on Sunday (was having a late lunch with my friends), so couldn't stop by Dick's. Then, Monday rolls around. I have to work from home on the weekdays (basically, Mon-Fri) so didn't have time to pick up my order until Wed after work. On Wed morning, I receive another email that I only have tomorrow until pickup. Only 4 days folks! Good thing is that I did have some time yesterday after work so went to go pickup. The email clearly states to check in when I arrive in the parking lot. So I did that. I mention my car model and color (as directed). 5 minutes go by. NO ONE COMES OUT. At this point, I'm like.. hmm... their system kinda sucks, so I figure I'll just get out of my car and call them. I literally stand in front of the store and call. A clerk picks up, and when I inform him that I'm here to pickup my curb side order, he says OK. He comes out with a plastic bag with my two items in it. There is no outside bag or anything. No smile. Basically just shoves the items into my hand. No, "thank you for your business", "have a nice day," or anything. When I ask if there is a carry bag or at least a bag so I can carry my items in (like a bag with a handle? I mean, my purse wasn't that big to fit in a shirt and hat), he looks at me and goes "it IS in a bag." And may I mention my two items were bunched into one tiny clear bag. I will not do curbside pickup from Dick's Sporting Goods again and would not recommend it. read more

I wanted to pickup some Niner Faithful NFC Champion items before Superbowl Sunday. After finding this more challenging than it should be in the Bay Area, I was resigned to driving to Levis Stadium in Santa Clara, but decided to take "a shot in the dark" and give Dick's a try! Eureka! I knew I had been successful when I saw the sign over the store's main entrance, "The Quest for Six!," a not so subtle reference to Super Bowl LIV (54) in Miami being the 49ers opportunity to pick up their sixth Lombardi Trophy next weekend! The "manager" here Jennifer or Jessica is racist. I just needed help with football gear for my nephews she went above and beyond to make sure I knew didn't belong there. She helped other non cultural people around me-seemed pleasant. When I inquired about a price since the tag was unclear she literally said something like YOU PEOPLE always want a discount. I was appalled because I was never looking for a discount. I was actually looking for clarification on a messy wall. If she has no customer service skills why is she working with the public. I was rolling around Pacific Commons in my UC Whip when I saw Dicks Sporting Goods . I had never been to a Dicks Sporting Goods so I parked my Whip in their large parking lot . I rolled in and I was quite impressed . Dicks is a Monster Sporting Good Store . The place is Huge !!! I like that they actually have a Gun section unfortunately they only have Rifles and Shotguns . They also have an Archery section . The Fishing section is quite large and they have a good selection of Fishing Poles and a multitude of Brands and Accessories . Although Dicks has one of the best locations here in Fremont, a wide variety of sports gear from kayaking to fishing and active apparel - I find it difficult to believe that they don't carry Sharks jerseys. Not only that, we circled the entire store twice and not one associate was around to ask if we needed assistance. I actually had to chase one down only to find out they didn't have what we were looking for and no clear explanation as to why they don't have it. I've been to this store many times before and it's always the same - there are never any associates who approach us. That's probably why I've never purchased anything here. I should probably start with a positive in that there are lots of different options based on your interest but my bitch is that I had made a rather large purchase as a Christmas present but it was a bit spur of the moment and decided to return it the next day , easy enough. But after 5 days I still didn't show a credit so I called only to find out that Dick's policy is 7-10 business days... wtf ? When I think of DICK'S, I think of overpriced and cheap gear sold by uncaring, arrogant employees. Every time I've been here, I always dread the experience. The clothes and shoes are always in disarray. The salespeople always seem to wish they were somewhere else. The cashiers are agonizingly slow. And despite a pretty large store, the selection isn't even good! I have to also mention, DICK's corporate policies make me infuriated. I refuse to ever give this place another cent of my money, and everyone else should too. I didn't find another I really needed, just looked around. I purchased two identical pairs of shoes last week and decided to keep only one of the pairs. I used Apple Pay and the package came without any type of receipt. There wasn't an email confirmation either. I went in to return and they looked me up by phone number and email. The purchase wasn't linked to either. They offered to return the shoes for $50. I had paid $70 online. They insisted that the shoes were ringing up at 49.99. I declined the return, went outside to search up how much I purchased the shoes for. When I showed them that the shoes were more expensive online, they said that's online and not in store. I left and called Dick's customer service number and they instantly pulled up my account using my phone number and found the order number. I came back later that day and gave them the order number. They finally were able to pull up the order and return the shoes. I asked them to price match the shoes that I was going to keep and they said, "oh, the shoes are ringing up as $67 now." So lessons here: 1. Don't use Apple Pay if you're paying for a purchase online because sometimes they don't send confirmations in case you want to return. 2. Prices in store can fluctuate 20-30% at any given time. Within the same day! 3. Prices online are much more expensive than in store. I will not be purchasing from DSG anymore if I can help it. The phone customer service is excellent, the in person experience was tolerable at best. Buyers beware! read more

I was in this Store today and asked the clerk if there was somewhere to sit due to the fact that I use a Walker. Nothing was available and was told to fend for myself. My problem is with management not providing assistance for disabled people. Have chairs available to prevent accidents. Or, do those who walk with canes and walkers just not do business with Dick's? Mixed bag here. The whole store is severely overpriced. Everything in there is marked up. Got there today, nobody else around, and the girl at the front looked annoyed I was asking her a question. These workers now in days, I tell you, they're clueless about customer service. If I'm basically the only customer in the store, get up from where you are and come help me find what I'm looking for. Because they're hourly and it's a huge rich chain, they don't care if you have a bad exp there and won't come back, it doesn't affect Dicks, or their job, even if they're lazy. I was on a very important mission when I came in here last week. What was my mission you ask? To find the exact color top to match my new Nike Free 5.0 shoes. I never used to be a shoe head, but after seeing all the colorful options the Nike brand has these days, I couldn't resist. I also happened to be gifted with a pair from my sister. Alas, the shoe obsession starts. I knew I was in for a treat just because this place was in the new Pacific Commons shopping area. Smelling the "new-ness" of the store upon walking in was enough to get excited. Of course, my first stop was the bathroom. And yes, it was Lorie approved. Nice and clean. Perfect for my frequent bathroom breaks which come quite often these days. As I perused the women's Nike section, I also happened to walk by the Carrie Underwood sports wear section. Did anyone else know that she had her own workout gear? It makes sense with how cut up and buff girl is looking these days. It turns out that all of it is super cute, only a little on the pricey side. I ended up picking up a slouchy sweater on sale for $40.. Can you tell I get distracted easily? I found a willing victim (sales associate) to help me track down the perfect top for my radiant emerald and fuchsia Nike's. While I can't remember his name, he was awesome. He pointed me toward a few tops until I found "the one." I tried it on and matched the color to the picture of the shoes I had in my phone. Done deal, Mission accomplished. Dick's is just like other sporting goods with wide selections They have mostly everything you can find for sports such as active wear, footwear, weights, sunglasses, outdoor gears, camping stuff, GoPros, and list can go on and on. The building is HUGE.... They have huge selection of everything. It's an athlete's dream of being here. I have heard of this store before because I buy my lifting equipments online but never had the privilege to step into an actual store. I always wondered why Dick's Sporting Goods only carry a 2.5 star on Yelp, well their service and professionalism isn't there. I drop off the bike Friday night we ordered from their website to utilize the free installation. Eric who was working at the Bike station agreed I'd drop it off for a Saturday afternoon pickup. I come in at 315pm and to find out the technician Jeron was not aware of the bike being dropped off. Terrible handling of communication here, makes me wonder why they even carry their headset walkie talkies. Enclosed is a photo of the note Eric left for Jeron, but....did not notify Jeron of the note. I spoke to Anthony the Manager and he tried to mediate the situation. He was apologetic about it, but the fact that this occurred, being a first time Dick's customer, I'd rather return to a closer Sports Authority. I haven't spent this much time walking through a sporting goods store since Tri-City closed eight years ago. Dick's is very well organized; everything grouped by a particular sport. And the selection is vast - mostly name brand. There were very few sales personnel on the floor, but the ceiling was teaming with security cameras. I didn't need anything in particular when I stopped in, just wanting to check out the new store, so I can't comment on a purchase. But it's good to know that they are here. read more

Don't bother going here if you need anything besides clothes. They have three tiny folding tables with miscellaneous "equipment" and everything else is just clothes and shoes. It feels so dingy and empty in there. All that space and they use none of it. Most of the employees were just milling around the entrance with nothing to do. read more

The guys here are outstanding when it comes to NO help whatsoever. I bought a set of golf irons back in Nov 22nd, and I still have not gotten them yet. I called to follow up to find out that they don't have my order in their database. I get dicked around for a half an hour on the phone with no resolve. They said they'd call me back to find out what happened, and after a few days, guess what...not a single courtesy call to update me. I end up going to the location, Pac Comm to talk with the manager to find out that my order was cancelled. Fkn fantastic! I find out that the person that helped me out in the first place, his name is Guy, made a mistake on my order. Great job Guy, you have one job, and thanks for following up with me BTW, you never did. Dicks sporting NO support what so damn ever!!! So new guy, Danny attempts to assist me and says he has to re create the order. Danny says, "we'll expedite your order and it should be here in a couple of days for you to pick up." So gullible I am for believing, that was a week ago. "I'll make sure to call you in case your clubs come in early." Riiiiiiiiight!!! I follow up 2 days later (Thursday) and speak with Danny over the phone. "Mr, your clubs should be in by this weekend the latest. I'll call you and let you know." Well, it's passed the weekend, it's Tuesday evening now as a matter of fact. I just got off the phone and spoke to Austin, who I've never met or spoke to. I ask if Danny is in, and he tells me that he is off today and tomorrow. He says he needs to call Danny to find out the update on my order.... I'm beyond frustrated at this point that I don't even want to get angry or upset. Im just dumbfounded at this point...I don't understand how none of this is in their database. Where is the tracking information? Is their database before the invention of the internet, i mean wtf is going on. So, here I am expending my energy on a one star review that is two stars too many. Brand new store in Fremont in a great location! They have just about everything from every sport including sports gear too! The staff is really nice and now a lot about the different sports. The company sent out coupons for $10 off your purchase of $25 or more! With that being said after the Giant winning the championship again this year my brother said he would get me some gear so we can here hoping to make a purchase. Boy, they did not disappoint! They had so much giants gears! Many tables in the front of the store and some sections next to it had all giants gear! Not to mention the amount of warriors and 49er gear they also had! Back when they still have a hunting section in 2020 I called after work at 4pm to see if they had any 308 caliber left they said they did but the FFL license manager is off and told me to come tomorrow at 5pm, when the next FFL qualified manager starts his shift. Like ok...? Why would DSG have a entire hunting section open all day and have the one FFL manager that's qualified to sell ammo come in only a few hours before the store closes? I decided to go at 1030am the new day and the FFL manager says all the ammo has already been sold out dispite a buying limit on ammo.... WTF.. My guess is that the employees are selling all the ammo to each other employees/ friends or reselling ammo on the side and price gouging to make extra cash on the side no proof but the situation was pretty sketchy read more

Yesterday 7/19/2020 I called around 430 pm for 9mm ammo. I was told the price and also that they had 12 boxes. I was also told that they couldn't sell it to me bc the manager wasn't there. I was told to come back on 7/20 around 1pm. So I got ready today to drive over. I called at 12 noon and was told it's all sold out??!!! How can it be all sold out if you couldn't sell it yesterday but then can sell it again today at 1pm? That just not right. I even offered to put money down. But was declined that offer. read more

Wow this place is HUGE! I've been to other sports stores like Sports Authority, REI, Big 5 P Sporting Goods and they got nothing on this place! They probably have the biggest selection of sports gear, clothing, accessories, etc that I have ever seen. They have everything! In the back they even have an archery lane where you can take your bow and shoot it at a target. Crazy! Also this place is very clean and organized which makes it easy to find stuff. Plus the staff is very friendly and are happy to help you find what you need. The prices are comparable to other places and they have good deals too! If you need any sports or out door gear this is the place to be! I will probably stop going to Sports Authority since I like the large selection. Check online for their deals too! read more
