Visited today on Black Friday holiday and it was still a very pleasant experience. Sure a more people all over the store than normal but still not so crowded. I had just been at the Outlets in Livermore and it looked like it could be a one hour wait to get into a store like New Balance, Nike or similar - and here - no problems at all - and since its indoors you wouldn't have to wait in the cold anyway. The store is fun and meant for very young skateboarders - but still I like to look around myself. Super clean and organized - which was impressive given the day. At some point people have to grow up and wear clothing for adults but meanwhile you can come here and pretend you are still in highschool. read more

I just walked in to purchase a few pairs of HUF socks for my boyfriend & i. no one had addressed me once i stepped into the building & i was waiting to see the socks. no i said anything so i decided on my own to look at them behind the counter. 2 minutes later an associate rudely told me to not be behind the counter because im not allowed, never asked me if i needed help or anything. so i threw the socks down on the counter i WAS going to buy. & left. if you have associates in your store that give guests attitude you won't make any sales, that's just common sense. read more

I walked in just to look for something for my sister. This guy who worked there came right up to me and asked if I needed any help and then he asked if I was shopping for my daughter. I'm only 26! I don't think I look old enough to have a daughter old enough to shop at this store. Ironically I wasn't mad I just laughed and told him it was for my sister. He was young though. Then another guy came up and asked if I needed help. He was really genuinely interested in helping me and he asked if I worked in the mall. One minute I'm old enough to have a preteen daughter and the next minute I look like I work in the mall. I will give them an A+ for customer service though. These guys really hustle. I came to zumiez to get my son a sweatshirt and shoes, i ended up buying 2 sweatshirts, 3 shirts, pair of shoes, 2 pairs of jeans and socks the service was AMAZING SARAH WAS THERE TO HELP WITH EVERYTHING, from picking out stuff to showing us similar brands to holding our merch at the desk and setting up a fitting room. She even got my 14 year old son to come out and model his pants to make sure they were a good fit. Any store where my boys can find what they need (and like) is always a plus for me. The staff is always very helpful and willing to offer advice on questions regarding boards, shoes, etc. If something is not in stock you can order online and get it delivered to the store. I'm even okay with going there by myself to shop when I need to pick up something for them. The only downside is they don't carry much merchandise in the larger sizes. My growing son wears a XXL and it's not easy to find his size in the style he likes. Overall, I would recommend this store to anyone that has teenagers who love skateboards and fashion. Zumiez has a great selection of the current name brands and it's basically a one-stop shop for me when I need to buy new clothes for my boys. I always get a lot of assistance when I go because even though I think I'm a "cool" mom, I know that trends change in a blink of the eye. Everyone has been very helpful even when, on two different occasions, I asked someone to look in the back room for a specific jacket in a specific size and color. Excellent customer service! I was in a rush this weekend and was looking to just zip and out. Unfortunately the store was packed and all I was looking for was some new dad hats for my cousin and some Thrasher hoodies for my cousin. After searching for 20 minutes, I couldn't find what I was looking for. Fortunately Gabe, if I remember correctly, was able to find just what I was looking for in the following 5 minutes and rang me up quite swiftly given the packed store. To Whom it may concern, I had a very poor experience today at the Zumiez in the Stonridge mall in pleasanton. I went in to purchase a new skate deck. I also had a poor experience with some bearings that i had purchased at the shop, so i was looking to replace those as well. The dude that was behind the skate section of the shop (the part with the bench) was super cool, helped me to find the board i liked and helped me with the subject of bearings. We started to pull my old bearings out of my wheels to replace them, and he told me that i needed to purchase the new ones before we could put them in which is proper protocol. Cool. I purchase my bearings a new deck, some bearing cleaner, and grip tape. Sweet. This is where my story goes bad. Between the time i left the bench to buy my bearings and got back to install the new ones, the manager (a shorter young lady who's name i wont say) had told the dude helping me that he wasnt allowed to help me with removing and installing my bearings, that sales were more important. I was left, at the bench with the tools to finish the job alone. I'm experienced at this sort of thing so oh well, but if i was a noob, i wouldnt have known what to do. So, here's my point. I'm not sure when a skate shop became more concerned with sales than with customer service. The shop was fairly busy, as they can be on weekends, but i've never, ever been to a skate shop that wasnt more than happy to help tear down and rebuild my skateboard in its entirety, even if the shop is busy. There were at least 5 people working in the shop, which is plenty to handle the workload while this guy helped me. The MOD, was impersonal and rude to me when she had passed the bench before i had purchased my stuff, told me to go wait in line. This is not the attitude i expect from a sales manager at a skate shop. What i expect, is what i have always received, the same service that the guy behind the skate counter was giving me, A general friendly attitude, and good customer service. Maybe it could be that he was the only one in the shop that actually rides a skateboard that he was nice to me, and the manager treated me like an average person on the street regards a skateboarder. You run a skate shop. If it wasnt for skateboarders, there would be no skate lines for the general public to buy clothes from. I spent my hard earned money in the store and was treated rather poorly by the manager which i find displeasing. This will be the last time i shop at this particular Zumiez, and perhaps the last time i shop at Zumiez at all. I can find a shop that will help me with my skateboard, and wont be worried about sales over customer service. Thank you for reading my story, overall i give my experience a thumbs down. read more
